GW2 is amazing but pvp/wvw has been treated poorly for a long time.

This is by no means a hate post but i'm making this in the hope we could raise some awareness for these gamemodes.

The long ammount of time between balance patches, the matchmaking in pvp. The server linking in wvw and the many bugs that have existed for more than 5 years.

We wvw/pvp players have to get pulled out of the game for things like fixing a small text bug in pve yet when there are gamebreaking balance issues we have to wait 2 months for minor nerfs ? I know their not exactly the same things but you get the point.

I think GW2 will live on for a very long time and i'm excited for the future but if you keep theating wvw/pvp like this your gonna push a lot of people away from the game.

Thanks for reading and hopefully we can improve these gamemodes together.

Lets just put aside for one moment that requiring a dynamic event to fail is a bad idea from a number of angles, because what I've in the name of getting my hands on HOPE sits very uneasy with me.

In this instance, I was looking to obtain the icebrood crystalline phial as required for the fourth collection. This needed my hand in taking down a Champion Icebrood Quaggan; a curiously specific minion to kill, but the collection tooltip did give directions to where one could be found.
I went to where I expected to find what I needed to kill, expecting it to spawn at the location like a fair amount of champions do, but it doesn't appear, so I conclude that I need to... progress an event chain to get the champion to appear.

And this is where it gets good disturbing.

A little digging around the wiki and I find the event that spawns the specific champion is "Rescue the quaggan from the Sons of Svanir", but as you can probably tell by this point, rescue was not the desired course of action this day.

Something is perverse when three Svanir turn up to abduct a defenceless fish-herder, and I think "oh goody".
And this wasn't a quick dynamic event meant to be easily missed; the norn took the poor girl for a slow (probably fast for her small legs) 10-minute forced march along the valley to the cave that was mentioned in the hint I was given. I'm walking backwards ahead of them, keeping an eye on the unhappy entourage and shooing away would-be heroes that that would instinctively free the captive.
They finally get to a Jormag totem in the cave, and ritualist can now start offering his little quaggan to the elder dragon. For 5 minutes, she's looking at the norn sacrificing her. Meanwhile I continue to observe at arms length so that he can go about his business, and stand guard at the cave entrance, protesting to anyone looking to rescue her why I need that quaggan to be corrupted, and why they should leave the Svarnir in peace.
After enough time has passed...

"Event failed!"

...which is exactly what I needed; I can now go in and claim what I sought. I torch the remaining svarnir to death (only because they took so long), and euthanise Jormag's latest recruit (who's soul was also corrupted in the ritual, so she doesn't get to go to the mists either). RIP Slupwoot.

So thanks for getting me one cruel step closer to my legendary pistol, Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs; I'm really not sure who's side you're on anymore.

Elona Reach is now playing against two dead Servers

I know, i'm not the first one to complain about the place of WvW at the moment, but this evenings reset is beyond everything i just wittnessed.

Not a single map has had any enemys beside some 5-10 man groups. According to friends on other servers, Kodash is officially refusing to play at the moment (most of the server transfered to Underworld) and Ring of Fire (with 3 Servers linked) has no real guilds that wanna play right now.

I don't actually know what to do, i'm just sad atm and i hope there will be one point where Anet at least tries to change something up.

Anet, can we please get an actual way of checking our ping?

Currently if you wish for your ping to be displayed to you, you go to Options (hit F11), look at the lower right, and there's your number. Issue is, it updates so hideously slow - worse than any other game I've played that displays ping - and is essentially useless if you're in a position where it matters.

If you're in a raid and want to check your ping, to know if you should adjust your playing slightly, you don't get the luxury of being able to look at a value - you must hit F11, wait 2~15 seconds for the value to update, and even then you wouldn't be told when it drops.

I've resorted to spamming chat when I'm lagging, as that will quickly indicate how long it takes for my input to get around, but this is still a major hassle. Why can't we just be allowed to show a constantly-updating number on our screens at all times, instead of having to go to Options to see a value that sometimes even takes 15 seconds to update?

*All of this was typed while fighting a Legendary, and my queued attacks have still not landed yet.

Since the last balance patch, PS warriors have been out of the meta and replaced with dps banner warriors, a good portion of which does not bring for great justice. The burden of generating might and fury has shifted to druids.

The problem is, PS warrior was much easier at generating them. While I have no doubt good druid players can generate them just fine, new druids/pug druids don't seem to be doing so well. Since the patch, I've seen a lot more might and fury problems in pug groups. For example, the average fury uptime in mursaat overseer on GW2raidar is 80-90%. Average might uptime on arkk CM is 17-20 stacks.

So please, make sure to keep an eye on your group's might/fury uptime, especially if you decide to run only 1 druid. For druid players, please stop running full magi's and grab a build from https://redd.it/7bfx7s . And make sure to quickdraw warhorn 5 for fury.

Edit: This is not a "pugs suck" rant. It's just a thing I think people need to be aware of when looking at their raid groups, since it wasn't as much a problem before with PS warriors being able to supply good might/fury while facerolling.

How does one beat Siege Master Dulfy in the Urban Battleground fractal?

I've done it with groups where people run around the far side and grab the mistlock singularity. Run straight up the middle and skip trash mobs. Slowly kill trash mobs towards the boss. Doesn't seem to matter. We always body hop to Dulfy, we get there, AoE for days, can't heal fast enough, it's a dps/revive your buddy race. There are trash mobs everywhere. I just don't understand what to do here. It's the very first fractal, and I'm halfway through T3 now, and I still don't know what to do with that part of this fractal.

I notice NPC's wearing armor that isn't available, or having appearances that are not available. If you had a choice, what unavailable item would you have in the game?

For me it would be this face or The Order of Shadows armors.

Bounty Hunter recipes

On the patch notes from the november, 7 patch, it stated:

  • Priory Researcher Elisa now has new recipes available.

I have been checking everyday and she still only sells recipes for leggings, shoulders and gloves. Do we have any official position that she has the recipes, but they weren't put in the rotation or do we have to buy Caches of the Traveler and try our luck (I sure hope this is not the way it is, but it is a possibility).

Just tired of how bad this is for pugging. People here told me that it should punish only yourself for making an error but the really is I try to not move laterally and surprise I have 4 stacks of agony. Even if you stand still, "far" away, you still get punished because of people eventually stacking right on top of you. And most pugs have no healer. Maybe it's latency related.

I might go back to only raiding because this just annoys me so much. Makes you paranoid when you're doing anything that isn't a fractal. Just a stupid mechanic.

Do whatever you need to compensate. Buff the foes health. Make them hit harder. Transfer Social Awk just to CMs if people like to think they are pro players because of it.

Alot of guides seems to link to http://silverwastes.loltools.net/index.html? and simply open "bags" on low level character. I am still pretty confused on what to do. Can someone explain me to all the items obtained in silverwaste farming and what to do with them? Do the "bags" mean all bags I get (like gear bags/rare bags etc?) or is it a specific type of bag? What do I do with bandit crests?

PS: I dont actually know how to read the table at http://silverwastes.loltools.net/index.html?. What does "Champion Bag Open Levels" and "Bloodstone-Warped Hides" mean? What do the numbers mean? Anyone mind explaining to me that as well? Thanks!

Why bother to report griefers?

Since several weeks, we have one player on Vabbi constantly throwing Trebuchet blueprints on Ram buildsites to keep us from building. Since weeks. Dozens of players have reported him, I also wrote a support ticket like a few others INCLUDING video proofs.

Anet answer:

We have reviewed your report last time you contacted us and we have taken the appropriate measures. Unfortunately we can not share any details about our investigation or the action taken. If this player is back doing the same behavior, please use our in-game report system since it is the most efficient way to report this behavior.

When people dont see any action taken when dozens of people report someone for siege griefing, then why should people even bother reporting? Usually the support is friendly and helpful, but when reporting a player who is interfering in a matchup and even confesses it on teamchat every time, why is there no action taken? I repeat: Since weeks.

Due to an Overabundance of Hellfire skeleton tonics and a lack of dad jokes, i have decided to make a game of it.

so i have about 2,000 hellfire skeleton tonics (don't ask why) and decided it could be fun to make a small treasure hunt of it, while im leveling my new character named ''Klæder'' in Kryta, anyone who finds me roaming about, send a dad joke in chat and i'll mail you 100 of the damned tonics. I'm playing on Arborstone[FR].

/Also, sorry in advance if this breaks a subreddit rule i don't think it's breaking one but i'm a bit iffy on them since i haven't been around here that long. just tell me if this is breaking a rule and i will remove / appropriate the post.

Edit: It's been a while and i'm gonna go to sleep now, still the same thing though, if anyone sees me playing feel free to tell me a dad joke and i'll give you some hell skeleton tonics.
