Hearthstone - Streamer Sundays Weekly Discussion

Streamer Sundays Weekly Discussion

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 05:11 PM PDT

Do you enjoy watching streamers? Do you wish there was an easier way to find new up-and-coming streamers beyond the well-known, established Twitch goliaths?

Do you have a stream yourself? Are you looking to get exposure but not sure how given how Twitch displays streams and how one-shot stream promotion posts on Reddit tend to get ignored? Is anyone still reading these questions?

This thread is for you!

If you are a streamer or know of a cool, lesser-known (read: doesn't regularly pull in 1K+ viewers) streamer feel free to post the URL and a short, informative pitch about why you feel others would be interested to watch it. Why should someone watch your suggested stream rather than one of the hundreds of other streams out there?

The next great streamer might be just one comment away.

Enjoy!

Jia new card reveal! Webweave

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 10:04 PM PDT

The Hearthstone Legends channel has been routinely stealing hundreds of hours of content from streamers and creators. Most recently, it stole a 2 hour session with Mike Donais from the Omnislash (Brian Kibler) channel and it's getting more views than the actual video.

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 12:30 PM PDT

Here's the video in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Omq5UR_goR4

And here's the original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hEvMSr7U3o

It is the exact same video right down to the length. This is one of the most ludicrous cases of content stealing because since this was streamed and posted on Twitch yesterday, this channel had several hours' head start and posted it on Youtube before Kibler, stealing thousands of views from him. At the time of writing, the Hearthstone Legends video has more views than the Omnislash video.

There's tons more channels like this that go under the radar. At least the now infamous WizardPoker channel (which I found amusing before it shut down) was creative and posted edited/curated content (though Reynad still called it out as a stealing channel, which it could be argued that it was) But this is just blatant stealing. Of course, the automated Youtube content flagging bots don't take this kind of content down.

I just wish something was done about this.

IksarHS (Regarding Webweave): Fun fact. This card was at (4) until near the end of final design. Was one of the more powerful cards in the set.

The mad dash for karma.

These cards look familiar.

When basic packs are still exciting.

Blizzard, it has been months, please do something about pirate bots in wild!!!

Posted: 06 Aug 2017 12:58 AM PDT

They are rampant, they are obvious, they are stupid because the deck is so absent minded basically you play match with your mana crystals and atack with everything and it has too high of a winrate even for bots...

Yes, I know I can tech against them, the problem is not that the deck exists, the problem is that the bots abuse the deck.

With a single Hearthstone pack, how many can of Cokes (320ml) can you buy in your country?

Posted: 06 Aug 2017 06:58 AM PDT

I'm from Malaysia btw and a single packs cost us MYR 6.5 (which translates to 3.8 cans per pack [MYR6.5/MYR1.7])

Just wondering how some of the players affected by the game cost.

Cheers~

Jaina Versus...

Posted: 06 Aug 2017 05:31 AM PDT

I think it's time to pay our respects to Stablemaster.

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 04:25 PM PDT

With the reveal of Deathspeaker yesterday, it is truly time to say goodbye to Stablemaster.

Deathspeaker is:

  • Not limited to beasts

  • Not exclusive to the hunter class

  • MUCH better statline for same cost

  • And perhaps the biggest punch in the gut, after all this Deathspeaker is a common card not an epic which means he's TEN TIMES CHEAPER to craft.

I don't think I've ever seen a card get powercreeped so hard.

When the Frozen Throne releases, there will finally be an infinite turns combo between friends

Posted: 06 Aug 2017 04:08 AM PDT

When [[Time Warp]] was spoiled, i instantly tried to think of a way to chain them together infinitely, but the best i could think of was just using [[Lorewalker Cho]] to play 10 together. Now, thanks to [[Dead's Man Hand]], there will be a setup that allows for infinite turns (well, until the game draws). By Lowewalker Cho shenanigans you need a Time Warp and two Dead's Man Hand in hand. By casting a DMH and a Time Warp, you add the same cards you played to your deck + gain an extra turn. Now, you need to draw an extra card each turn. A couple options:

-Have a [[Cult Master]], and each player a [[Khel'Thuzad]] + a minion that trades with the one from the other player. For example, 2 [[Stonetusk Boar]]. Then you just make one trade each turn, draw by Cult Master, then the KTs respawn the minions.

-A Jeeves and an extra card that costs 0/1 mana and you can play each turn with no effect on board or hand, such as [[Cursed Blade]] or [[Iron Hide]]. The order then is DMH, TW, 0/1 card, draw 2 by jeeves, draw the third one on your turn.

I hope someone finds this interesting, or finds a more efficient way to do this.

Edit: I just realized that just Arcane Intellect is enough to solve the draw issue, math is hard.

I, for one, embrace our new meme overlord. Found his explanation for the sudden change fascinating and wanted to hear what you guys think.

Do you think streaming HS has become so monotonous now that it warrants needing a persona to find fun in it?

[KFT] Alliestrasza's New Card Reveal! - Bone Drake

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 12:00 PM PDT

Does playing Happy Ghoul make anyone else really happy?

Posted: 06 Aug 2017 08:59 AM PDT

Happy Ghoul is quickly becoming one of my favorite cards. It's just so happy and affordable. Actually costs nothing at all at zero mana you just heal yourself and drop him on the board and that chill ass motherfucker gives you free board presence to use later in the game.

And you also get that chance to just heal yourself a little but usually that's not too important unless you face very aggressive decks.

But more than the HG is just so positive. It comes on the board like "Do you want to eat a corpse a free minion?" and I'm like "yeah HG, I do want to eat a corpse a free minion let's do this shit" and when he attacks he's like "HEALING IS FUN" and I'm like "yeah staying alive is SO FUN." He doesn't say some bullshit macho shit like "I will destroy you" he's just like "nah health is fun." And he looks so happy. I mean this is an animated flesheating corpse literally brought back to life by dark magic, doing snow angels. He understands it's afterlife is a flesheating frenzy spent in a frozen wasteland and the dude is just fucking loving it. I mean look at his face he's just so happy.

I am literally never sad when Happy Ghoul is on board. IDK if he's gonna make it into the metagame or not but for now he (or she) a pretty chill card.

90/135 Knights of the Frozen Throne cards revealed but no Rager yet

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 03:50 PM PDT

There has been one in almost every Expansion.

Magma Rager - Everybody's favorite bad card from the Basic set.

GvG - did not have a Rager. Maybe they thought adding another Yeti and a Silverback Patriarch with charge was already too much.

Ice Rager - Grand Tournament (Powercreep incarnate)

Am'gam Rager - at least as useless as Magma Rager (exept of rare synergies with Hobgoblin or buffing it or giving it taunt).

Shadow Rager - Mean Streets of Gadgetzan: Strealth gives him a chance to stay alive long enough to trade into something. If only your opponent wouldn't know he's waiting there.

After so many Ragers I would have presumed it was actually tradition now but in Un'Goro there was no Rager - at least none that had it in the name so obviously.

There was however Elder Longneck, a 3 mana 5/1 (no more denying - after reading the stats - it is a Rager) with Battlecry: If you're holding a minion with 5 or more Attack, Adapt.

With the exeption of Ice Rager all of the ragers brought something fitting to the lore or gameplay theme of the respective Expansion:

Am'gam Rager was the corrupted version of a character we already know. It's name and stats reversed, not Magma, but cooled down volcanic rock.

Shadow Rager was sneaky like the criminals of Gadgetzan.

Elder Longneck was a beast instead and had Adapt, the new mechanic and big thing of the Expansion.

You may all hate me for it but I might be a little disappointed if there is no Rager in Knights of the Frozen Throne.

But a Rager with Lifesteal might be too powerful.

Or would it?

It could have some balancing negative effect. Maybe it damages or freezes you when you play it (or when it dies) or has some other negative effect for you. As such it would fit well with the Warlock's masochistic theme.

or "Battlecry: Freze this minion

Other typical themes of the Expansions include Deathrattles, Ice and the Deathknight Heroes

Rogue's Shadow Reflection card art at least looks like a Shadow Rager already but maybe that's the only connection with DK cards we'll see

The new Rager could also either have a Deathrattle or be summoned by another minion's Deathrattle (other minion dies and then you get the Zombie/Skeleton Rager from it) - that would make sense flavour and lore-wise.

Or the biggest joke of all would be Freeze any character damaged by this minion. Chugga-chugga!

That or 3 mana 6/1 vanilla minion
