Friendly reminder that buying the expansion from G2A will put you at a high risk of receiving a permanent ban.

Posted: 03 Aug 2017 05:52 PM PDT

Can we get a sticky for this? I've lost track of how many people ask about G2A being a legitimate keyshop.

G2A is NOT an official partner of ArenaNet, and reports of stolen gamekeys being sold en masse on G2A are popping up time and time again.

As such, it should not surprise you that, should you see a deluxe edition key for PoF for $15 on G2A, or similar ridiculously cheap deals, the key is most likely bought with a stolen credit card or another fraudulent method of payment. These keys will be invalidated, resulting in a permanent suspension of your Guild Wars 2 account.

Buying stolen gamekeys on G2A financially hurts the developer/publisher of the stolen game due to credit card chargeback fees, to the point where Developers publicly stated that they would rather see you torrent their game than buying it from G2A.

Oh, and G2A does nothing about this. They knowingly and willingly act as fence for digital contraband. Just in case you were thinking about buying other games from that site shitpit run by degenerate assholes devoid of any semblance of morality.

Does this mean we're going to get multi-classing in PoF?

Marking 5th year of GW2 and PoF with a new tattoo!

Posted: 03 Aug 2017 01:50 PM PDT

I've been playing this game since the launch happened, after some friends convinced me to buy it with them. After 2 years in, they all quit, so I was solo playing for a long time. Now, at my 5th year of playing, I've seen guilds come and go, friends gained and lost, but the game always continues to be a home.

I've suffered with mental illness for a large part of my life and the community, the dev team and this game have been a giant part of getting through it. It's helped me recover my creativity and my drive for wanting to create something like this for other people as well. (I wound up creating the rest of the Orrian Syllabary until Matthew ruined my dream :P )

I've wanted a tattoo of something from the game for a long time, but my main class logo (engi) was a little generic for me and wasn't special enough. I decided on the Pact logo, which to me represents more than just the Pact, but also the idea of players all coming together to make a community.

http://imgur.com/a/QuapN (Yes I know the jokes about "but the pact is garbage now", that's not the point)

I just want to say thank you to Arenanet for the past 5 years, and congratulations on the launch of PoF! :) I'm booking days off work as well as transit and hotels soon to cross the border from Canada to come to the PAX Party to visit you all in person. <3 I'll see you there!

They finally got their Hoes!

We need a bookshelf/library for home instance.

Posted: 03 Aug 2017 06:12 PM PDT

I'm not usually one to care about this sort of thing, I usually just delete them and move on... But there were FOUR books this latest episode ((possibly 5 because I got a fancy version of Rose's book in a mail today). I would also put money on books continuing to be a thing in the expansion, so lets just take of it before it really gets out of hand please.

I can imagine the poor souls that hold onto all of this and it just piles up there are already interact-able bookshelves in the game, just put 1 into the home instance that we can use.

Concern: Will the marketing decision of splitting up expansions limit design?

Posted: 03 Aug 2017 04:37 AM PDT

So this has been a concern creeping up with me since i've seen the news that HoT is not included in PoF. I personally have HoT. Let's be clear about that. But the reason i'm still concerned about this is two things, masteries and story.

Masteries The main concern here to me is, all these old masteries, will we not see any use for them from now on? Does this mean none of the new expansion maps or future living world maps will have things like updrafts, ley lines or jumping mushrooms? (even when for example revisiting an area in the jungler) No raid encounter will use gliding as a mechanic again? It just seems like such a limitation. And then the big question for the next expansion is, do you have to design everything now around not having mounts because mounts are a PoF mastery? There are so many fun masteries in Living world aswell that are basicly confirmed dead now. I really think it limits the creativity of people designing maps. Personally do not like this approach.

Story Same as with masteries though in lesser extent, but it still saddens me a bit, we will never go to tarir or rata novus again (except if it's trough some weird portal instance or something) They basicly locked the jungle as a place where storytelling can happen unless they add a new map. And even if they do that the map design may not feel like the other jungle maps due to no shrooms or updrafts or leylines. Leylines themselves are also a big part of the lore, and will now suddenly not be in any but the heart of thrones maps?

This is my greatest and biggest concern about the expansion, and while i do understand we don't want new players to feel like they'll have to catch up to everything that came before, i'm also really concerned that every single design feature in Hot would now technicly be off limits to design maps and raids with.

It's a place where i feel we should be building on existing content, not replacing it, and it's kinda of the same lesson we learned with season 1...

I want devs to be able to say in a year or 2, "hey we haven't done a boss with a gliding mechanic in a while, i have a cool idea for 1 let's check it out" or after PoF in the expansion after i don't want devs to have to account for the 5% of the playerbase that doesn't have mounts in their world design... I'm concerned the business model will stop GW2 from reaching it's full potential as a game.

Weaver Weapon Skill Combinations and Tooltips of All New Skills so Far

Posted: 03 Aug 2017 06:51 AM PDT

I was so hyped for the incoming Weaver specialization that I went through WoodenPotatoes' Video and Bog Otter's Video, and organized an image that shows all of the weapon skill combinations that are possible given the information that has been provided thus far. A brief description of the Weaver and the tooltips for all the new skills that have been hovered over are at the bottom of the image. Also, please keep in mind that the skill icons are blurry and don't look so great because I had to clip them from the videos I watched. I'm sure when the expansion comes out, they're going to look a lot better than what you see here.

Enjoy!

Image here

Edit: Thank you 420_Weed_Wizard and Yunas Iris for linking me to Bog Otter's video. I had no idea there was another video of the Weaver!

Edit: Thank you BlueSakon and S1eeper for letting me know that I got the queue analogy backwards. It's been fixed.

Edit: Fixed the description of how Weaver works and fixed a few pictures. Added all the sword skills I could find from Bog's video, and am now adding in the staff skills.

Edit: Added the staff skills and dagger skills.

Health bars in PoF

Posted: 03 Aug 2017 08:13 AM PDT

In the PoF demo I've noticed that enemies now have red health bars above their head, even when they are not targeted, and it is freaking awesome!!!!!

Thank you ANet for this, but... will we be able to toggle allied health bars as well so that we can keep track of their HP right above their character model? We need this, each game mode needs to have this feature, and personally it would be a selling point for PoF imo (even though I already bought it).

New armorsets in PoF?

Posted: 03 Aug 2017 10:16 AM PDT

so we've seen a few new pieces (the specialization pieces), and something new-looking on some running npcs that could be new armor.

do we have any kind of confirmation that new full armor sets will be coming with PoF and if so, how much compared to HoT?
