| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 10:21 AM PDT Not sure if mentioned before or if many people know that, but if you cast Open Wounds from LifeStealer in a creep and use Iron Talon on her, the interaction for life steal will be the same as if you hit her and dealt damage. Just a cool little trick when you need to hit jungle or farm stack for more sustain. [link] [comments] |
| At what point do you start to notice HP regen during fights? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 08:25 AM PDT Healing's pretty strong in this game, but individual heals seem to be pretty weak--Omni 300 hp, Aba 250 hp, Warlock 45 hp/sec, etc. Given that these small amounts are impactful enough to turn fights, why don't people focus on building HP regen auras? For example, HOD+Mek+Pipe+Vlads is 21 hp/sec, at no mana cost, to the entire team. It's like having a permanent shadow word at half strength on the whole team. Why don't more teams use aura stacking strategies? Is it because 21 hp/sec is too insignificant to notice, or is it that here are better items, or what? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 09:37 AM PDT Carry is understandable, but when there is a support naga, and she gets enough gold, why not get aghs, they can fight, then midfight when they are low naga ult and they get 70% of their hp back, thats so much [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 10:22 AM PDT So my friend's been joking around with me for the past 2 weeks about this "Roaming Naga" bullshit, or so I thought. I played a game with him yesterday where he just roamed on mid with his hero, and every time he did it we got a kill. I was skeptical at first, but the more I think about it, the more it seems like a very reliable roamer. The bread and butter of roaming Naga is Net. At level 1, it's a 2 second disable. Because heroes usually don't have ways of getting rid of the disable, it's effectively a stun they can attack through that early on. And vs some heroes like Puck, QoP, and Ember, it can be a crippling ability. Riptide allows Naga to boost ally damage, and the armor reduction is no joke. The ability got buffed recently I believe, which is pretty nice. Naga moves at 320 speed base, which is way higher than any other roaming hero, and compensates for her lack of gap close that heroes like Tusk and Earth Spirit have. Add an Orb of Venom or Boots in there, and you have a massive speed advantage (Orb seems better so your allies can catch up). I think with Radiance Naga being nerfed, this could be a good role for her. Not sure what to build after initial items, but my friend got an Aether Lens...though I'm not sold. Auras? Aghs? Still Radiance? Dunno, looking for opinions. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 10:41 AM PDT Thoughts considering the 14 mana regen on level 20? Maybe follow up with E-blade for a nuke that scales with grow, and additional armor from Eaglesong? [link] [comments] |
| How do you support a 4 carry team as Disruptor? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 01:02 AM PDT I'm 2k and I've been playing hard support for almost all of my recent games. I've found that I win more games with Disruptor than with other heroes. Firstly, how do I know when to max glimpse instead of kinetic field and vice versa? Assuming I can't trust my carries to save me, how do I itemize against heroes like Tiny who burst me down ez, Weaver who I can't catch especially if he has linken's, and QoP who can do both? How do I approach the post tier 1 tower period? I find myself idling around after tier 1s get pushed and the carries leave the lane for jungle. I feel like I can't really push for t2 alone. Lastly, how can I be more beneficial to a team of 4 right clickers? Would it be better to pick a different hero? Pls help me git gud [link] [comments] |
| Playing Traditional Supports in the Midlane Posted: 11 Jul 2017 07:58 AM PDT I wanted to start a discussion on the merits of playing traditional supports in the midlane. This seems like a good idea in my bracket (2k) especially in unranked where teammates are more inclined to pick greedy heroes in the safelane, jungle, and offlane. Playing a hero in the midlane that thrives off of levels but does not need that much in the way of items can leverage the XP advantage of sitting mid in the laning phase soaking XP, denying creeps, and farming 1-2 items before moving to become active on the map. So, some questions.. Which traditional support heroes fit the midlane best? Which of these heroes thrives off of one or two key items (Lion/SS Blink, Disruptor Veil/Aether, CM/Bane Glimmer/Force) or a Midas as well as a lot of early XP? Which of these heroes have good spells to contest and push the mid lane as well as harass the enemy midlaner? I'd appreciate as much as input as you guys can give. EDIT: I propose this only when the rest of your team can scale enough to compensate for the fact that you as a support hero going mid can't scale (ex. greedy jungler, two carries in the sidelanes) [link] [comments] |
| Maximizing Mana Regeneration with Tread Swapping Posted: 11 Jul 2017 12:40 PM PDT Hey everyone, here's a What isn't available (I think) is the latter half for more experienced players. It details how to maximize your mana regeneration based on what your mana pool is, and what kind of mana regeneration you have. For example, a Slark with only Power Treads would want to be on INT to improve his mana regeneration, but if he also had an Aquila, he would want to be off of INT Treads. Storm Spirit players in particular might find this useful as I have a section based on whether you have Soul Ring activated or not, and an attempt at a Bloodstone infographic. If you don't want to read the article, I'll link the charts below. They may not make the most sense without context though. Here's what you would need to know:
Mana pool also includes talents, as well as OD's Essence Aura and KotL's Chakra Magic, however, those cases are much less common and add a lot of variations, so I didn't really include them. I may make one for all combinations eventually, or if you want a specific hero, let me know.
So yeah. I know it's a bit dense and maybe hard to understand. And the images are pretty bland/ugly. Sorry about that, but any feedback (particularly on content) would be great. If you think something's wrong, let me know and let's figure it out! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 06:21 AM PDT Hello everybody. Its me again. As the title says, i want to ask how to deal with this stupid hero. My last 20 games, bloodseeker was either banned, or picked (most of the time against me). For me, this hero is just totally broken and stupid. Either you stomp your opponents or if you are struggling, you just build aghs, refresher and basically stops 2-4 heroes from enemy team. I know that maybe in higher MMR hero is not so broken, but in higher MMR people actually use brains when playing dota. Since in my games, there is every single game almost one idiot in my team, i want to ask for your ideas of heroes to counter him, or playstyle or anything against this bullshit. Thank you very much. | How to jungle as Legion Commander in 7.06? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 03:33 PM PDT I kinda suck at jungle Legion. I saw people claiming 8 min fast dagger on her but I can't even get dagger after min 12 in the jungle. What's the optimal skill build and item progression on her? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 02:42 PM PDT Genuinely Curious to hear this community feedback on exactly why they keep coming back to play dota and grind that Ladder? Always nice to hear what gets people motivated to play and improve. [link] [comments] |
