The Titan shield wall damages and slows enemies that try to pass through it

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 06:36 AM PDT

https://youtu.be/5reeuarp6g4?t=4m49s

You can see it in the above video of Luminosity's gameplay at 4:49. He tries to run through an enemy barrier and he takes damage and is slowed. It occurs several times in the video, and at one point he just stands in the shield taking damage as he defuses.

I just wanted to point this out as I had not seen any information about this anywhere. I'm not saying this info isn't out there, but I figured if I'm constantly searching for info and I missed this, others might have as well.

Either way, it seems like the wall has more utility than just tanking damage.

Edit: It also happens at 6:40 and 8:40

Roaming supers will leave glowing footsteps wherever you run

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 07:27 AM PDT

Start of IGN video

EDIT: Gifv version courtesy of /u/Mblim771_Kyle

In Destiny 2, they're adding neon footprints into the mix. If you take a close look at the ground, the Arcstrider leaves blue Arc footsteps behind them and when he attacks the Sentinel you also see purple Void footsteps! Helpful for counterplay: hunt them down or avoid them by running somewhere else!

Massive Breakdown of Destiny 2's New Control Map, Endless Vale

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 05:11 AM PDT

Keep in mind that this is meant to be an example study to show how much you can learn from just a few games on a map. Nobody knows for sure how the map will play when the full sandbox is opened up, and different gamemodes are active, but we can get a good idea by being knowledgeable of the layout.

Video Version - Shoutout to IGN for the gameplay!

Endless Vale - Top-down Callout Map

  • Characteristics - Basically diamond shaped. The 3 defining lanes go between the initial spawns, and there are 3 intersecting lanes (referred to as Across Lanes). Think of it as a mix of Asylum and Pantheon, with the Control Point location and verticality of Asylum (high B point, lane that runs from B straight down to a low area), and the extra middle across lanes of Pantheon.
  • Battle Types - From the gameplay we've seen, and basic study of the map, it appears that most of the mid and shorter long range engagements will be taking place on the outside lane leading from each spawn to B point. There are a couple pieces of cover between the Portal and Bend and B, but they are small and spread apart, so longer range weapons like pulses and scouts will have the advantage here. Skilled players with shorter range weapons will be able to cross the distance between cover points, but they'll need to be smart about how they do it if they don't want to be picked off. Both initial spawns favor shorter mid-range weapons like pulse rifles, but they offer plenty of cover than AR and HC users can take advantage of to either escape or close the gaps. In Mid, short range weapons are decidedly the best best, but there are lots of egress points that players can use to disengage, should the need arise. Lower Temple favors close and short-mid range, but there is almost no cover in the center of the pit, so be careful going down there.
  • Engagement Flow - Again based on the gamplay we've seen, engagements tend to be focused on and around B, looking outwards into Mid, Bend, and Portal. Good teams will be able to prevent players from from crossing through Mid and Temple, thus holding one side and B, and forcing the opposition to push outwards from an initial through predictable lanes. If a team cannot hold the Mid lanes, then players will be able to collapse on B from there, or flip the spawns and flank. Temple is far away from the action, and thus will probably only see heavy traffic when a player is taking a long flanking route, or players are fighting over the power ammo which spawns there. Mid will likely see the majority of pushes going through it, as it's easier to close the distance with the amount of cover provided. Distracting players on B with Mid pushes provides an excellent opportunity for longer ranged attacks from either Bend or Portal. Although unlikely, I foresee some teams attempting to hold A and C, but that is a much longer line to defend, and the risk of being collapsed upon or leaving individuals isolated is quite high.

  1. Symmetry - Although each spawn has unique geometry, the map is basically symmetrical, and the control points don't seem to favor defenders on either side.
  2. Areas/Focal Points - The areas are listed on the call out map, but notable things to recognize are the giant trees, which mean you're in Gulch, the diamond shaped piece of cover which is in Mid and near Drain, and the high spire which is on B (aka Shrine). Temple is also easily recognizable as the lowest lying point on the map, and Blocks is the spawn point without giant trees. Elbow has a more defined bend than Portal does, which has an open entrance.
  3. Entrances - Mid has 4 main entrances, which makes it very hard to defend if there is no one on B or in Temple. Likewise, both B and Temple have 3 entrances, and their defense is also made easier by having a teammate in Mid. Each spawn has 3 ways to get out, but thanks to the amount of cover provided there are multiple routes within each path.
  4. Choke Points - If you control B point and Mid, then Portal and Bend become the main choke points, depending on which side the enemy spawns. Spawn entrances to Mid will be a secondary choke points, and A or C entrance to Temple will be the third. Preventing them from pushing through any of those points will keep them trapped on one side or the other.
  5. Pick Ups - The only pick ups on this map are the 3 Power Ammo boxes, located in Temple, Bend, and Portal.
  6. Cover - High lane to B has limited cover, basically two small boxes on each side. Initial spawns have lots of cover, and Mid is basically walled in with low central cover. Temple has no cover in the center, but columns on each side.
  7. Verticality - Most of the map plays at the same level, with B slightly elevated, and Temple depressed. B allows the ability to shoot down on attacking players, while Temple will force you to shoot up and out. Be careful of trying to push out from Temple, as the stairs out make you predictable.

According to PlayStation Japan, we, PS4 users, may able to pre-download the beta.

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 11:17 AM PDT

I see many people wonder about pre-downloading the beta. PlayStation Japan has an answer.

ダウンロード期間:2017年7月17日(月)正午頃〜2017年7月23日(日)23:59予定

This translates to "Download Period: around noon July 17th, 2017 to 11:59 pm July 23rd, 2017".

I am pretty sure this time period is about PSN Japan only so the actual time may vary in your region, but we will be able to pre-download the beta, probably. I've been using PSN US and PSN JP for decades, and every time when PSN JP has a pre-downloading, PSN US always have it too.

In the history, PlayStation Japan revealed several secrets before any Destiny officials did such as Skolas.

I hope this will ease your anxiety.

Across map nova bombs Montage

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 12:21 AM PDT

So a friend of mine found some spots on different crucible maps to consistently hit across map nova bombs onto heavy ammo spawns. We found these spots about a month and a half ago and has been collecting footage for a montage. Today he finally released said montage.

Your Weekly Heroic Reminder: Low-Impact Shotguns Wreck

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 05:15 AM PDT

This is a friendly reminder, that with the weekly modifiers once again being Solar Burn/Specialist, that low-impact, high RoF shotguns absolutely melt bosses if you coordinate with your fireteam. When utilized properly with Weapons and Melting Point, you can kill every strike boss in the game in under 3 seconds.

Don't believe me? See for yourself:

For those that do not have these shotguns, Lord of Wolves and Invective can be good substitutes, but your kills will be nowhere near this fast. This concept also works with Void/Specialist and Arc/Specialist, if you have the proper damage types on your shotguns. Happy slaying everyone!

A PvE players dream came true! (ToO)

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 01:17 AM PDT

Yes, this may indeed be just one of many Trials of Osiris posts but I really need to get this off my chest..

I GOT TO THE LIGHTOUSE!!

Yesterday, after playing for about 5 hours of Trials straight with two buddies I met just a few days ago we made it to eight wins, using our mercy on the 5th match.

On the final and last match we were up against a carry team, now judging from my excitement you probably already guessed we won against them. Guess again, we got stomped like crazy as both of the carries were insane sniper/trials gods.

They even had mercy but as they didn't want to lose carrying just another virgin they didn't leave the match. After a heartbreak of a game for me and my team we were quite devastated after working so hard towards our goal but then getting punched in the face like that.

After leaving the game I decided to send our enemy team a message saying gg and how it would've been my first flawless (I know, desperate af.)

Instead of the expected "GG, maybe next time. Gotta git gud m8." I almost instantly got a message saying the "They will help me now.". I was so confused that I did not understand what they were trying to say until the other one message me that they will play a card with me now!

So I of course, told my buddies goddbye for the night as they were going offline at that time anyways and joined the enemy teams party. I still was unsure if they are just going to troll/mock me after joining as their offer seemed way to unreal to me. Again, they surprised me. They apologized to me saying that the feel bad for winning against us. WTH? I told them that they won fair and square and don't have to "carry" me because of that. They, however, insisted and so I started a card with them.

As you can imagine, things went insanely smoothly. Finally I was able to surprise them by proving that I'm actually a "decent" player, giving my best at making callouts, rezzing, orb control, pushing with them etc. I even got the most kills in one match once!

After playing a few matches they started to believe that they are not carrying me at all and I'm actually a good player. Jokes like asking me "if I accept PayPal payments" were made and we just had a lot of fun.

Surprisingly enough, we still lost one round against another very good team but I was confident enough that we would still get that flawless. And even IF I had so much fun that I wouldn't have even cared.

After getting our 8th win, we start looking for our last match and after it "evaluates guardians.." for about 5 minutes it loades us into a match without enemies!! I don't know if they just left before we could even check ther classes etc. or if Bungie just had another mercy waiting for us (me), to make sure I can finally reach that dream of mine, which is to reach the lighthouse.

At first I couldn't even believe what was happening. As we spawned it just gave us an instant win and loaded us back into orbit. The fireteam leader takes us to the lighthouse and my breath got taken away. What a beautiful and stunning place!

I tried to thank my teammates as much as possibly trying to show them my full gratitude about what they did for me but I just couldn't thank them enough. I don't know if you guys ever go on reddit but if yo do, please know: What you guys do in your spare time is something amazingly beautiful. Giving average players a chance to accomplish things like that are insane. You guys, change this community to the better and deserve a medal for what you are doing.

After asking if I can *somehow" support them, if it's money or a shoutout or whatever the only thing I was able to offer them was any help at any time when it comes to anything PvE related.

I don't think I can pay them back for what they did for me but that was the least I could offer.

Alright, this was my wall of text about my adventure to the lighthouse. Good luck to all the little lights out there, if I can do it, you can do it too!

P.S. If you wanna see some of the sweet shots I took at the lighthouse check this out.

EDIT: Wow hi /r/DTG front page and.. thanks content dought.. I guess?

EDIT: Thanks to everybody congratulating me on this. Surprised about how much positive attention this post is getting!

Then somehow we will figure out a way to utilize the small amount remaining and fuel our revenge murders.

[Story] At a field hospital outside the Farm

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 05:20 AM PDT

At a field hospital outside the Farm frames worked tirelessly aiding refugees that had just arrived from the perilous trek. Awoken, Exos, and Humans scattered about with different ailments and a lot of mental scarring. The Hunter that had guided the here entered the tent and looked around. He took off his helmet, his eyes bloodshot from his constant watch. He walked over to an empty bed and sat down. It had been a long time since they had last seen the City, and he hopefully not the last. He would take every ounce of his newfound power to get revenge for what they lost. One of the frames going about its usual rotation stopped at his bed. In a generic, feminine voice it asked,

"What seems to be the problem Guardian,"

"I have a headache," he responded "we haven't been still for a long time."

"Oh dear." The frame began writing a report on its tablet.

"The most logical cause of a headache symptom in your current situation is most likely sleep deprivation. Your bloodshot eyes are also most likely caused by that." The Hunter remained silent.

"Is there anything else ailing you?" The frame asked.

"No, it's just.. uh, well I guess there is." He stood up and looked out at the Shard of the Traveler in the distance. Only part of it was visible outside the entrance of the tent. He stared at it for a few moments until the frame recited its mandatory dialogue.

"I am required to submit a form of your ailments to best create treatment for-" She was cut off as the Hunter turned around began to speak.

"I-I got the light back but..." He paused for a moment clearly traumatized by the past events. "I can't... Blink."

Artifact Stat Rolls from Tyra Karn (Weekly Reset 2017-07-11)

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 02:04 AM PDT

Memory of Silimar: 34 Intellect, 51 Discipline.

  • 112% overall and 96% out of the maximum for Int/Dis Artifacts. Elemental Perk: Orbs on void grenade kills

Memory of Timur: 33 Intellect, 34 Strength.

  • 88% overall. Elemental Perk: Orbs on void melee kills.

Memory of Jolder: 38 Discipline, 31 Strength.

  • 91% overall. Elemental Perk: Orbs on void melee kills.

So, which Artifact does what?

  • Memory of Felwinter: Removes your Super ability but greatly increases your Disciplin & Strength stats.Orbs now regenerate grenade and melee ability.

  • Memory of Gheleon: Gain detailled radar and radar persists when aiming down your primary weapon (Third Eye perk).

  • Memory of Jolder: Removes Sprint cooldown entirely.

  • Memory of Perun: Highlights enemy Guardians with fully-charged Super abilities in yellow and all enemies with low health in red.

  • Memory of Radegast: Gain the ability to reflect energy based projectiles (Supers e.g.) with your sword. Gain more ammunition for your sword as well.

  • Memory of Silimar: Greatly increases resistance against damage over time (DoT's) effects in the Crucible.

  • Memory of Skorri: When your Super is full, each kill will allow nearby teammates Supers to charge faster for one minute.

  • Memory of Timur: Temporarily turns enemy PvE combatants into friendlies when they are melee attacked.

Personal Opinion: Wow, two very good rolls this time around!

Recommended Picks: I highly recommend picking up Silimar and Jolder, for the latter it may be the best roll it ever had.

A perfect roll would look like this:

  • A Int/Dis Artifact: 38/51.

  • A Int/Str or Dis/Str Artifact: 38/38.

The Bonus Points added are 43 at LL 400 for every Artifact.

A Free Feeling of Triumph

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 06:47 AM PDT

Guys, I finally did it. It took three boxes a week on one character and buying all of the Sparrow horns to eliminate them as possible drops, but I finally finished a whole set of Armor of Triumph.

http://imgur.com/a/vIbsC

Was it worth it? Probably not, but I also didn't spend any money (minus the cost of a PS4 later upgraded to PS4 Pro, the television, monthly internet costs, Destiny and all the expansions, and Playstation +) to finally get it. Honestly, I can't believe I got it before Destiny 2 dropped, let alone a week before the Beta, sooooo... Cheers? Sorry, this is a pretty forward self-congratulating post.

A friend of mine just found this very interesting video and it felt strangely familiar.

This happened to me the other day.

All credit goes to SpartaR_dam for pulling this off!

Destiny Community: When two Guardians help a stranger to complete Age of Triumph

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 04:09 AM PDT

One node that I have been missing for a very long time was getting 10 revives in Nightfalls, due to allies rarely dying. This node (and the corresponding strike page node) were my last hurdle to reaching 100% and finally getting my hands on a sweet shirt! As a busy parent, I don't have enough time to commit to raiding or Trials, so I had to stick to the character pages and strikes that I could slowly grind out! I'm also a TakenTot so I don't have half to the Commemoration page, and my collections and factions are lowly.

For the last several weeks, I have been running the Nightfall religiously three times at reset using LFG with the hope that I'd be able to revive my allies. Six weeks, and 18 Nightfalls later, I had a grand total of 4 revives. FOUR!

So this week, before starting my third run with the same team, I decided to bite the bullet and ask them if they'd commit suicide at the beginning of the strike just so I could get the revives. To my great relief that both agreed!

Thanks to these great Guardians, I've now managed to get 100%, and my T-shirt is ordered! :D

How many PC guys will play console at release, then change over ?

Posted: 10 Jul 2017 09:36 PM PDT

Just wondering how many PC guys will play PS4/Xbox at release and then change over to PC once it has released? Thinking of doing the same just so I can play the game and not have to wait an extra month

With beta on the horizon I would like to think back. What is the gun you will miss the most from Destiny 1?

Posted: 10 Jul 2017 07:01 PM PDT

Mine is Red Death. I remember when me and my buddies were doing Crota and I was the only person with one.

Edit: Thank you all for your responses! I will be creating a graph of all of the guns that were chosen as favorites very soon.

Greeting Guardians!

Through the good graces of Bungie and our favorite glasses-wearing community manager, /u/Cozmo23, we have come into several codes for the Destiny 2 beta next week!
