Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #23: Spomeniks Posted: 09 Jul 2017 03:37 AM PDT LAST WEEK'S THEME: WONDERS OF THE WORLDGoldGood use of color from reference images, amazing job with proportions and architecturaly accurate (depending from the pictures and known sources). Critique: Everyone would like to see the gardens in their entirety, or just more pictures in general. From what we've seen, it's an amazing build! :) SilverVery interesting detailing, a lot of different blocks and textures mixed up really well together, also paid attention to surrondings (not too much but more than majority of others) and submission is built quite accurately as well (temple has a foundation and support pillars with the chariot on top - which is something original temple had.) Critique: Even though terrain is not flat and has some textures in it, the whole structure still looked out of place a little bit. A bit more work on enviroment around it would be cool, but the build itself wasn't hurt by that too much. BronzeGeometrically very pleasing, not only with the statue, but the whole city as well. Statue has a solid foundation, and it is the highlight of the city. City is also a really good surronding of that focal point - something I always look for in these submissions. Critique: Building in general lacked a bit of variation and detailing in my opinion, but it still deserved a placing nonetheless. Honourable mentions IntroductionThanks to /u/13Joaquin for this challenge!! (From /u/13Joaquin's comment) After Yugoslavian internal struggles during WWII, Tito needed a way to commemorate lost lives and battles without explicitly making statues like traditional war memorials, so as to not upset certain peoples within diverse Yugoslavia. Therefore, he gave architects this complex job which resulted in the abstract, almost-alien like spomeniks that now dot the yugoslavian landscape. Some are in disrepair or have fallen victim from graffiti, while others are mostly intact. There is an interesting variety of monuments, yet they all evoke the strange. (Check Inspiration for the gallery of examples) Inspiration ChallengeEasy Mode: Construct a Spomeniks. Try and make an original one while still following the way most of them were created. (I highly suggest looking over a couple in the gallery) Hard Mode: Construct more Spomeniks. Construct 2 Spomeniks along with one that has fallen in disrepair and another that has ''graffiti" on it. (Note: While signs may seem like the best way of making graffiti, it's really the easy and lazy way to do it. Anyone that comes up with a cool and original way that also will look good will have a major advantage over someone with just a sign.) Rules

I need ideas for survival mode Posted: 09 Jul 2017 04:14 PM PDT I consider myself to be very much a rookie in Minecraft. I've made an Iron Generator farm, automatic cobblestone, and an automatic sugarcane. I love these builds because they keep me busy and add something awesome to survival mode. Are there any other builds and things I can work on in Survival? [link] [comments] | ||
