| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 06:14 PM PDT Basically i climbed from 2.7k to 3.3k by using treant (when his ulti still OP only 60secs all lvl) . But now i think tree a little bit weak because of the nerfs osfrog gave him. So , im running out of ideas what support heroes that's good for spamming with high win rates. Any suggestion ? | Posted: 11 Jul 2017 03:03 PM PDT I know that WK is not really that great against heroes that can burn his mana quickly (AM, Nyx, PL with diff) and that if I try to pick WK early I can get countered by one of those heroes I mentioned. I typically skill him with only 1 point in stun and trying to max out crit then lifesteal ASAP. Recently I've seen some gameplays on youtube where some WK carry players would even skip ulti, although they try to go max-1-max and rush armlet ASAP. Is my ability selection/maxxing right or wrong, and is skipping ulti against mana burning heroes viable? [link] [comments] |

How should I be using Phase boots? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 07:02 AM PDT I see them in a lot of suggested builds, but I'm not sure what makes them better than war treads. The CD is 8s, while the duration of the speed boost is 2s... am I supposed to just be spamming phase boots to run around the map? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Who do you think are the strongest laners in the game and why? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 09:41 AM PDT I'm trying to get better at laning and want to know how some heroes abuse their advantages. I've been recommended juggernaut by this forum, and am curious to know about other options. Would be helpful if you could specify core or support and which lane. [link] [comments]
When can you clear a triple stack as Bristleback? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 07:12 PM PDT Both in the case of having an Ancient Prowler and not having one in the triple stack. I believe the Prowler Aura makes it really hard to kill the stack. At what level do you try to do this? How would it change based on what items you have? Also, how do you do this efficiently? Right now, I do it by bringing popping 1 clarity, staying just barely inside the range where ancients will aggro (to minimize damage taken), then keeping my back turned away from them. Then I just hold position and spam quills. P.S. Assume offlaner levels of farm. [link] [comments]
Help with some Faceless Void ult / team fight / builds. Posted: 11 Jul 2017 08:07 AM PDT I have started playing Void and he's a lot of fun, but I am still a bit lost as to what my focus is in a fight. Sometimes I feel I land a good chrono but I feel underwhelming like I just stopped the fight for a few seconds. Say I manage to get 2 or 3 heroes in a chrono; who do I target first? The squishiest hero? Hero with lowest HP? Hero that can escape easiest? Also what builds are common now? Do I focus on attack speed or damage? Or build tanky? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jul 2017 12:59 PM PDT So basically i started playing today, and i got rekt everytime.. Is lasthitting is a thing? Should i follow item build that game is suggesting? What should i buy to enjoy myself? [link] [comments]
Does silveredge remove effects from talents? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 04:44 PM PDT https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3307586379 I took the sven's evasion talent as I think evasion for sven is pretty good (because he doesn't need to commit a slot for butterfly , forces enemy to get mkb) and I had pretty good AS from mom (later ac). During the game I felt that I took too much damage from sniper and didnt evade that much , does silveredge remove 20% evasion from talent on sven? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jul 2017 10:08 AM PDT I'm 10 games in to my PL spam, and I have only lost 2 games so far. So all in all, not too shabby. However, I feel like there is still a lot I can learn (obviously, I'm not a good MMR). I basically go start with tangos, salve and 2 slippers, then buy pms from the sideshop. I then get Aquila, brown boots and wand before rushing BOTS. I just feel the movement speed and movement around the map is a massive advantage in lower mmrs where there are constant fights. What game shouldnt I do this? What else could I get? I then get diffusal because it's super good with pl, then manta, and then I choose from heart, Skadi or butterfly. Is this normal? Should I be building more offensive items? I max his Q, then E with a value point in doppelganger level 2. Any other tips appreciated (I know you can dodge shit with doppelganger) [link] [comments]

How Do You Lane vs. Skywrath Mage Mid? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 09:50 AM PDT How do you handle his never-ending nukes and auto attacks? Seems impossible to sustain or outharass him. Do you just suck it up, satisfy yourself with 10 cs and wait to mid/late game where he is weaker? I just played as a SF and couldn't even get to the creeps. I had to basically give up the lane and jungle. [link] [comments]
Convincing team to go more balanced composition Posted: 11 Jul 2017 08:02 AM PDT Hello all, Lately I've been losing some really frustrating matches. I love playing support, but do not like playing solo support. It feels like nobody realizes how important having another support/early game hero is. Yesterday I played a game with 4 carries, one in each lane and a lifestealer in the jungle, with me solo supporting. I picked first, as I really do enjoy supporting but this thought tht you need 4 carries to win, even taking a suboptimal jungle hero, and consequently have extremely weak lanes is really discouraging me from playing this game. It gets extremely frustrating. What kinds of tips do you guys have for situations like this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jul 2017 03:08 PM PDT Is there a way to cancel only the actions queued after the tp? I am used to pressing the stop key quite often when moving or attacking. Now in recent times i noticed that i canceled tp's just because i chamged my mind about directly nuking the creepwave [link] [comments]

quick question on Chaos knight... Posted: 11 Jul 2017 11:13 AM PDT for his stun. the number that pops up sometimes is that how many seconds were added to his stun or the total duration of the stun? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jul 2017 07:24 AM PDT I know it's like a super newbish question but I just started the game and the dragon knight tutorial is causing me troubles with last hitting. Since I have a melee hero, every time I go for a creep to try to last hit, the enemies hit me. I can barely kill 2-3 minions and then my life is down to 10-20% and takes forever to regen. Is there any tricks to last hitting with melee heroes? [link] [comments]
What are you camera settings/hotkeys? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 02:38 PM PDT I have been looking at my camera speed and decel for a while. Every week or so I up my camera speed by like 100 and am at around 6000 I think. I was wondering what are your camera settings, any tips or things you have noticed helpful? Do you have hotkeys or camera positions binded and what are helpful for those? Thanks and good talking with all of you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jul 2017 08:03 AM PDT Hi, I'm focusing on mid exclusively these days and I've been looking for a few heroes to create my go-to pool. I've found that Storm Spirit suits my playstyle and I really like him but sometimes I struggle to have any impact on the game. I've seen a few pro games but it's so different in 6k+ games and my <3k games. If a pro has a hard time, their roaming support helps him. When I get a hard time, I'm on my own. I guess there's no point in lamenting how badly I am camped mid or how badly I got counter picked. I want to focus on what I can do to play better and eventually outplay most players by simply knowing my hero very good. I usually go for early Arcane boots and then build them into Bloodstone, then I get Power Treads and from then I have usually no idea what to get. I basically get Orchid if there is someone that can escape me when I jump on them or I get a BKB when they have many CC heroes or are magic dmg heavy. I sometimes get Linkens when I expect to get hit by Orchids or other disables early in the fight and their team doesn't have that many disables other than that. I've had hard time laning against PA or Weaver because they harass me a lot. I try to harass back but it seems like a bad exchange for me. I've had terrible time vs Silencer, because he just casts spells on me and his auto attacks shred me to pieces. I also struggle with late game when I feel like all I do is vortex someone not to escape. I feel like my dmg is low. I'd appreciate any general advice. [link] [comments]
Looking For People To Learn (Play) With (EU) Posted: 11 Jul 2017 12:29 PM PDT I'm a ~2700 MMR scrub who used to play Dota a bit a few years ago and now I'm back. I want to enjoy my games and solo queuing doesn't do the job. I'm looking for people who want to do their best, learn but also have fun so there's no flame or hard time when someone messes up. I'm open to hearing constructive critics or giving it myself but what I want the most is friendly atmosphere so we can enjoy the game. I like to play mid these days and that's the position I'd like to improve on but I can also play games as a support. [link] [comments]
How are you guys evaluating player cards & fantasy team? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 03:50 AM PDT This is a little off-topic for /r/learndota2, but might be a fun discussion none the less. If the mods remove I don't care just please don't merc me in the process. So how are you guys evaluating player cards? Has anybody really put a decent amount of work into it? Any useful resources or tips/strategies you guys have been working on? Open discussion here! [link] [comments]
Best way to stay caught up as a support? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 12:40 AM PDT I'm a dedicated support player and I do alright my only problem is I always end up 4-5 levels below everyone else. My game impact is always high but it feels like I'm behind in gold and xp. Any advice? [link] [comments]
Ember Spirit Itemization: Veil, or BoTs? Posted: 11 Jul 2017 03:40 AM PDT I play a lot of ember in the 5k bracket, and I was wondering if any high level ember spirit players can share some insight; when do you go Veil first, and when do you go BoTs first? Looking at my match history, I usually complete both items at around the same time (14-16min), regardless of which order I get them in. With Veil, I get tankier, and have better kill potential. With a fast BoTs, I increase my farming efficiency and kill potential as well by having an easier time/more frequent ability to join fights. Looking at Dotabuff, it seems pretty split, with some players going Veil first, and others going BoT first. I feel that BoT first is a little bit greedier, but at the same time Veil first can help you farm just as fast if you can get the kills. I tend to think Veil if you can utilize/need the extra kill potential, and BoTs if the game is a bit slower paced. I've tried a lot of both, and I'm not really sure which I like more. I'd love to hear some other opinions. [link] [comments]
