| Posted: 02 Jul 2017 02:35 PM PDT Ever since the last patch rolled out, I have been unable to use Hearthstone on my iPhone 6 Plus. The app would open just fine, I could play the tutorial missions, all that jazz. But when I tried to sign in, the login screen would not populate. All I would see were the tavern doors with the glowing blue symbol. I googled forever and found very little information. I submitted a ticket to blizzard, and went through several troubleshooting steps, including checking for firewalls, deleting/reinstalling, reformatting my phone, etc etc. Nothing worked. I had another iPhone, and an iPad, which had no problem with logging in though. Very frustrating stuff. I had a tweak installed on my phone called "Untrusted Hosts Blocker". This is an app that blocks third-party hosts used by iOS applications that have been identified as collecting personal and confidential data (such as location, contacts, UDID, etc.) for commercial, tracking, or advertising purposes. For instance, this would prevent Facebook from seeing what I search for in my browser app, among others. By deleting this tweak (which did not exist on my other iOS devices) I was able to populate the login screen, and I have successfully logged into Hearthstone on my iPhone 6 Plus. Yayyyyy. So what does this mean? Well, as we know, Hearthstone force-logged out all users from all devices with the recent patch. Here's the thread where people are talking about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/6j0yyx/email_authentication/ The fact that my login would not populate means that the Blizzard servers have been updated with some sort of tracking that my Untrusted Hosts tweak was already blocking before the latest patch. I'm curious what Blizzard is now tracking on our phones, or other devices for that matter, that they previously were not. This could possibly explain the bizarre behavior of forcing everyone to login to their accounts again, something that hasn't happened since beta. tl;dr Blizzard's recent update is being blocked by an app that prevents third parties from collecting personal data on your device. EDIT: Just a quick update, I have contacted the developer of this host blocker list, in the hopes that they can determine precisely which hosts are being blocked. Until that point, anything is possible. It might be something totally benign and unimportant, it might be crazy and contemptuous, it is too premature to reach any conclusion. But given the facts we already know, scrutiny is certainly a fair response. I also found a safe in my house, if anybody is interested.... UPDATE: I opened the safe. | i am so sick of all the disgusting insults from "friends" Posted: 02 Jul 2017 11:03 PM PDT we all know it. get a friend request > extreme insults > vanishes blizzard ain't doing nothing about it! i was once able to report a guy (through the battlenet interface and because he didn't stop) and the response was that i should never accept friend requests after a match! how ridiculous is that? the implications are: 1) sociopaths get away with this and keep doing it. 2) real friendship and a sense of community can't develop because we are conditioned to decline friend requests. 3) kids learn this behaviour early on and copy it. and certainly more. how about you use some of the money you earn to tackle this instead of just putting it into your pocket blizzard? Fast forward next turn I draw into Blood, I play it and i finally get The Ancient One. It's his turn he plays Primalist and gets Mind Control then takes The Ancient one. As much as I would hate myself, I did Jade Idols, easy 5 wins. I see there's 5 minutes left, so I insta-concede as much as I could before tavern brawl closes. It ends, I see a friend request, I accept naturally as I desire human interaction other than family. I apologize profusely for doing jade idols deck, giving my reasoning for doing so, and the guy is perfectly ok with it! He even wants a rematch. It was good fun, no quest rogue, dragon priest, or pirates, just some homebrew decks with what we had. We even talked about random stuff for half an hour. Posted: 03 Jul 2017 08:13 AM PDT Picture of the sorry situation I believe my opponent thought that I was playing Quest Rogue and played Dirty Rat on turn 2, which unfortunately for him, pulled Malygos from my hand. After that he decided to take on another gamble on turn 3, which pulled Gadgetzan Auctioneer - giving me the best start I have ever had in Hearthstone. Despite that, my opponent decided to see things through, but unfortunately the combination was simply too much for him. After the match I sent him a friend invite and luckily he accepted it straight away. We had a nice laugh about the dirty rat pulls and he asked me to go win a match for his spectating quest, which I did with the same deck. [link] [comments]  | ||

| For Android users, this is how you unlock the framerate of this game Posted: 03 Jul 2017 08:27 AM PDT Use a file explorer app that has a text editor, eg. Solid File Explorer. Navigate to Android/data/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone/files/options.txt and open with the text editor Add this line to the text file targetframerate=60 Or you can use whatever frame rate you want, note the higher the frame rate the more battery it will consume. I recommend at least 48 and above. Edit: The game actually has some pretty cool improvements on my side of things by default when you're dragging minions to attack or casting spells it would set the frame rate to 60fps to remove touch latency, back then it would just be 30 lock and it would look stupidly horrendous. Now with the 60fps touch controls boost and this method of unlocking frame rate, the game feels really smooth especially on my OnePlus 5 where it has Snapdragon 835 with 8GB RAM [link] [comments]  | ||
