We have reviewed the VOD, and have come to the conclusion that your team was playing with the intent to win, however, with the stakes of the tournament and how the other teams were affected as a result of this, we strongly advise that this does not happen in the future, otherwise further action will be taken to ensure that tournament integrity is valued. A brief comment about the decks we used against Belgium: We played Rogue, Warrior and Shaman. For Rogue class we used probably the most common version of Quest Rogue that was used by "Twink" to hit rank 1 Legend on 2 servers simultaneously. The quest itself is so good right now that it is going to be changed next week to stop it's dominance, so we thought that deck could be good enough to bring, but if Global Games Admins know a better Rogue deck, I am sure everyone in Hearthstone community is all ears. We also used Kolento's list of Taunt Warrior currently used in Shanghai for a slot at Blizzcon. I admit we changed 1 Acolyte of Pain for Slam and this change makes the deck completely different. This change was probably bad, since Kolento's lists are always perfect and you shouldn't try to do any inovations at all. Then we used very aggresive Shaman list which was paired against Rogue. We have put only 4 one drops in our deck and we failed to draw any of them for turn 1 which is essential when playing against Rogue, but I promise we will fix this until next time! I would also like to thank Admin team for their analysis of our VOD. I am really happy they are satisfied with our level of play, since there are no doubts about their skill and their praise is more rewarding than anything else. Posted: 06 Jul 2017 07:26 PM PDT Maybe it's the rose-colored glasses of the Un'goro meta, with the promise of a Quest Rogue nerf around the corner, but I'm not starved for content right now. Back when Un'goro was announced, the meta was in such disarray that it felt as though the early announcement was an olive branch to the playerbase. The subsequent black hole of content for a couple of weeks was criticized minimally, but the hype train kept us on track. Now? Well, there's no tricks to the content release cycle anymore. We've been on April/August/December for some time. This meta has been praised as one of the best in HearthStone's history by most -- and the most controversial deck will be nerfed soon. We aren't languishing toward a 45-card adventure, we're getting a full 120+ set. The old complaint of the Dog Days of Summer Adventures no longer exists. So, what is the purpose of this large announcement-to-reveal-season gap? You get a huge swell of hype and then...an 18-day hibernation. Even thinking of it from a marketing angle it perplexes me. Sure they can get the word out to the ultra-casual players over a longer window, but what kind of attention span do the ultra-casual players have? Don't they mostly just show up when their friends tell them a new expansion is out? All in all I think Blizzard's communication and content model has improved leaps and bounds from a year ago when we were approaching Karazhan and the Purify Meltdown. If you do it the right way, you're guaranteed to not have any dupes (because new pack system). Upcoming expansion shows that Blizzard and Team 5 do care Posted: 06 Jul 2017 08:29 PM PDT Considering all that has happened lately and is apparently happening in the next expansion, we have, to name a few: - Legendary drop rate tweak/dupe elimination - Permanent friend battle quest progress - Double gold rewards from quests for two weeks (basically an event that seems to be almost universally acknowledged as good filler between expansions) - The next expansion offering adventure-style gameplay as well as packs, acting as a sort of compromise between player base preference - A long-desired setting and gameplay feature (Northrend, Icecrown, Death Knights) Reflecting on this, I really believe that the developers of Hearthstone have been taking public responses to their expansions seriously and reacting in a fitting manner. The hype is good for their game and potential revenue, while taking the game toward a direction that the player base cares about is good for us. TL;DR - Blizzard cares about you. People are looking into Deathstalker Rexxar the wrong way Posted: 07 Jul 2017 06:53 AM PDT I don't see this card as a control enabler. I see it as a midrange finisher. Think like this: you get your aggressive midrange shell with small beasts, and top at 6 with Highmane. Right now, best case your opponent is dead or about to, and you just win. But what happens when your opponent had good clears at the start of the game? You're suddenly drawing single beasts for the rest of the game, damaging them by 2 which (in case of warrior and priest) is completely negated. Enter Deathstalker Rexxar in play. Now, from turn 7 onwards you're not drawing one, but two cards, with some pretty bonkers combos being possible, so this will help you giving some extra gas to keep the game running instead of just praying for kill command into kill command into huffer to finish the game. This follows the rules that Mike Donais laid out in Trump's stream. Specifically, only hunter and neutral cards. The first pick will be a beast ≤5 mana with card text. The second pick will be a beast ≤5 mana with no text or just keywords. More options may exist, but I decided to take his description as literally as possible, so the second options include no cards that have any text beyond keywords.
