| Not Enough Tunnel Snakes in Fallout 4 Posted: 11 Jul 2017 06:33 AM PDT Only one reference to the greatest faction in the franchise? This is the respect Bethesda gives them? Really? Fuck you Bethesda, it's not your writing, lack of RPG elements, lack of quests, or any of that, that made me return Fallout 4. No. It was the sheer lack of Tunnel Snakes content. Where was the faction? The outfit? Some themed weapons? Some settlement options? The Tunnel Snakes hairstyle? Fuck you Bethesda. /s [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 01:10 AM PDT You could have brought each one to face justice depending on which faction you chose. Plus it'd give you the opportunity to put a bullet in Ayo's gut and watch his smug attitude get lost. [link] [comments] |
| TIL how to send companions back to thier original homes. Posted: 11 Jul 2017 06:55 AM PDT When the window pops up for you to send them to your settlements, just close the window and the message will drop down that "Piper is heading back to Public Occurrences" [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 09:15 AM PDT As the title says. I've never used jet/buffout/etc. Only "drugs" used were stimpaks, rad-x, radaway. Do you feel that I've missed a large portion of the game experience? Or do you feel that I added to it by making it more challenging? Just wanted everyone's thoughts on it. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 04:18 AM PDT I just found out a couple of days ago that i can just place a bunch of junk (building a mega settlement) in a radroach body and carry it around edit: i downloaded kinggaths scrap beacon and its working alot better for me [link] [comments] |

| In regards to the "your character is a synth theory" Posted: 11 Jul 2017 12:25 AM PDT Wouldn't it have been cool if they had made that a big twist for the end of the game? You could have had a final mission that involved fighting your way through the institute with whatever faction, then after finally getting to father he issues your recall code, the screen darkens as you witness your allies being overwhelmed. (This could be a good time to have an important ally killed to make it feel more emotional, like Desdemona, Preston, Maxson etc.) You wake up restrained and have a conversation with Shaun about you being a synth, betraying him, whatever faction you joined etc. Shaun reveals something like both of his parents we're killed by Kellogg but he wanted a chance to get to know his father so he tried to recreate you as a synth, but clearly you have become your own entirely different person, and Shaun admits he never came close at all to knowing his father. Now based on how you've played the game up to this point there would have to be some creativity in how you escape and get past the problem of having a recall code, but regardless the mission continues with you somehow escaping and then succeeding in destroying the institute, though this time the final mission was much more costly and bloody than in Vanilla. Anyway I just thought if they wanted to go with your character being a synth this could have been a cool twist for the end of the game. Maybe its better that they left it ambiguous, I wonder how the twist would look if you sided with the institute, maybe someone in the institute tries to betray you and father and uses it on you? | I'm starting Fallout 3 for the first time today! Posted: 11 Jul 2017 01:04 PM PDT Hello everyone! I recently played Fallout 4, and let me say, I played the SHIT out of that game! But now, I am starting Fallout 3 because of all the praise it receives. I will be updating this post every once in a while to notify the community of my progress, thoughts, etc. [link] [comments] |

| [FO4] What mods should I use for my planned, er, labor camps Posted: 11 Jul 2017 12:35 PM PDT Ok, I plan to operate BoS... Labor... Camps, for the... better of the commonwealth, and not to take control of all technology, and kill all synths in the commonwealth. But yeah, my dream design would be as follows:

| The beginning cut of the game doesn't line up with the MQ (Spoilers) Posted: 11 Jul 2017 12:23 PM PDT Okay so this has bugged me ever since I first opened the game. The whole reason The Institute wants Shaun is because he's genetically untouched by the wasteland and it's radiation. However, in the opening scene of the game, you see the blast that destroys the Boston area. And since gamma radiation travels at the speed of light, Shaun's DNA, and by extent your own, and everyone else who went into the vault with you, should be fucked up. And even if that wouldn't be enough to deter The Institute, the way more radioactive dust storm that follows (because of the meltdown of the fusion and fission reactors in the Fallout Universe directly following the bombs) should be in close enough proximity to all the people going down to dowse them in a second dose of radiation, probably more deadly than the first. If this is true, then the motive for the entire plot of the MQ is bullshit. Maybe I'm wrong, I kinda wanted to hear all of your thoughts on the subject, and if I am wrong, explain to me why. | For all it's faults there's one thing Fallout 4 got absolutely right from the classics. Posted: 11 Jul 2017 01:18 PM PDT Companions will always block doors. Forever and ever this will be a "feature" in the Fallout series. After replaying the first game, I couldn't stop laughing at this, so many games, and this is still a thing. And yet, Bethesda never added the Step Aside/Get ouf the way dialogues, sigh, what a missed opportunity to honor the classics. [link] [comments] |
| Deathclaw Sleeping in Concord Sewers Posted: 10 Jul 2017 07:45 PM PDT If you manage to get to the sewers before the Deathclaw bursts out, you can hear its snores echo across the interior! I think it's pretty neat...and adorable, think about a fearsome creature snoozing. Don't know about you guys, but I've only found this out recently. Edit: Grammer [link] [comments] |
| I always end up in Diamond City in a new Survival Fallout 4 playthrough Posted: 11 Jul 2017 09:54 AM PDT I start the game, get rads, get sick, and run as fast as I can to Diamond City and get cured. Is there any other way? I wish there were more cities. It feels like going to Whiterun in Skyrim every single time. Any other wasteland doctors so I don't have to see that synth cutscene for the millionth time? [link] [comments] |
| So I wanted my workshop lights to cast shadows.. Posted: 11 Jul 2017 03:30 PM PDT ...you know, i'm into the whole settlement building thing, but it can get a bit shallow. I have a 1080ti and an i7 4790k, i thought that adding some flashy shadows here and there to my settlements wouldn't have hurt my framerate aaaaand...I was bloody wrong. I installed a mod called "True Shadows" which makes workshop lights cast shadows (but it doesn't make them particularly stronger). My fps dropped to a slideshow in my settlements even though my GPU usage wasn't reaching full load. Basically there is some inefficiency in the engine itself that prevents the huge number of lights i have in my settlements to cast shadows all at the same time. I thought fine, i've always hated the small radius in vanilla lights anyway, let's use that mod that enlarges the light radius, so that i can remove some light sources and achieve the same effect without hurting my fps..so i tried "Improved Workshop Lights" together with the aforementioned True Shadows. The fps was still awful, even after removing a lot of lights, and the mod conflicted so that I couldn't even see the newly added shadows! Has anyone got something like this to work? The solution should be to have lamps cast light further, so that we could use less light sources, and then we could proceed to use a mod similar to True Shadows, but something a bit less hardcore on the framerate (the mod author seems pretty bloody into the whole pc masterrace thing based on the mod's description, maybe some other similar mod exists that is a little less demanding on the crappy Creation Engine). Again, i have a pretty overkill pc, i guess a solution to this must exist, there are hundreds of mods that touch and improve settlement building, i can't believe no one has ever been bothered by the fact that the stuff you out down never casts a shadow, it's ridiculous! Thanks in advance for any help! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 03:27 PM PDT It feels sharp, kinda clunky.. Really clunky. Any mods to help fix this? For the record I almost never use mods, and currently have none installed. I usually enjoy a... I dunno, clean experience, but with Bethesda's engine that's getting harder and harder to enjoy. [link] [comments] |
| I have an idea for a companion: A ghoul martial artist. Posted: 11 Jul 2017 03:02 PM PDT It has the potential to be simultaneous absurd and awesome, because as I am typing this I am thinking of The Last Dragon. Basically, there is a ghoul martial artist who joins you on your journey because he think you might have something to teach him about fighting. I'm not sure how the companion quest should go but I know that it should end with this companion becoming a warrior monk version of Jason Bright. Or becoming something like revenant Lui Kang, because Fallout is about choices. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Jul 2017 01:56 PM PDT I want to try the saga and never played Fallout 3 or New Vegas, and I know this game has recieved shit from the fans (don't know why) but still, I'm interested. So, will you recommend it to me? I can buy it for 17$ if that matters for the decision.. I already posted this on the Fallout 4 specific sub but I wanted more diverse opinions. [link] [comments] |
| How did James get past the Super Mutants in the Jefferson memorial? Posted: 10 Jul 2017 08:12 PM PDT When you're looking for your father Three Dog sends you to Doctor Li who says that your dad went back to the old lab, you go there and find a holotape telling you he is now in Vault 116. However when you get to the Jefferson Memorial it full of Super Mutants, even if you chose to run straight from Vault 101 to the Jefferson Memorial (your dad having escaped that same day). Is Liam Neeson a ninja? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 10 Jul 2017 09:26 PM PDT for me, i was creeped out by vault 106 in fallout 3. youre tripping on some kind of hallucinogen that's in the air, killing the vault dwellers that have gone insane from staying there too long, and every door you open leads to more stairs going down, and it feels like youre descending into hell or something, and you'd realistically never make it back out of there. to make it worse, eventually you stop being able to tell when youre hallucinating and it makes even you the player question what's real or not. also from 3, the point lookout dlc. the inbred cannibal hillbilly trope will never not give me the heebie jeebies probably. and then after you finish point lookout you go check out dunwich to get rid of the book and find yourself in another seriously weird and unnerving part of the game, in a game that's already pretty unnerving just by itself. more recently in 4, that one brotherhood quest where you go looking for ammo for liberty prime in the glowing sea. it freaked me out in the same way as 106, that continuous descent to the bottom of the building. not to mention youre already in an extremely dangerous place with high radiation, so youre probably wearing a hazmat suit with no damage resistance. if i was actually the sole survivor, and upon getting to the bottom danse really told me "okay good job, now you can find a way out of here and try to crawl out of the glowing sea to civilization by yourself, bye lol" i would have had a panic attack. danse also didnt help when i went to take a peak down an open elevator shaft and he ran up right behind me and there was one alarming moment of holding back hard on the stick, just trying not to fall down the shaft and die. danse please. also centaurs are just the most grotesque thing i've ever seen. the concept art for them in 4 looks good, but still not as gross as the ones in 3/NV imo, because they look less human, and it's that human element that makes them scary.
