Diablo - Diablo 3 needs a Solo Only Season Option

Diablo 3 needs a Solo Only Season Option

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 04:18 PM PDT

I think one of the best ways to add some competition to the game without having to compete against 4 man groups would be a Solo Only Season Option. Where you can not group with anyone. This way you can not speed 4 man runs and the leaderboards are SOLELY dependent on your ability and farm.

This gives people who do not run 4 mans or groups a league to push themselves in. Not sure why this has never been an option before, but having watched the recent SSF PoE races I think it would be a major bonus to have in Diablo 3 for a more level playing field for solo players.

Since the numlock trick has been in the game forever, wouldn't it make sense to just introduce autocast as feature?

I think that would be a nice QOL change.

Wreath of Lightning does 4.7x Less damage than it should and other Necro info

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 09:02 AM PDT

Tested this myself with forensic video analysis. Basically put together a standardised set of gear to compare damage numbers.

After the massive nerf to the way Inarious procs Miranae and all other on hit procs, I was looking for alternatives just for normal T13 and low rifts.

Basically in my tests I averaged 30.4 bn hits with miranae and 2.6 bn hits with wreath of lightning (My Miranae is lvl 92 with 8520% damage and my Wreath is 89 with 3475% damage)

Between my two gems the on sheet % damage difference is 2.451x so if i hit about 30.4 bn with Miranae I should hit 12.41 bn with Wreath of lightning with the exact same gear. Instead as listed above it was around 2.6bn which is 4.773 times less than it should be.

Edit: For anyone interested in the numbers its aprox 728% damage per hit rather than 3475 at level 89

I know Wreath has been in this state for a while, however most people trust the tooltip and don't realise its actually a Wreath of LIE -tning (yes that was terrible lets move forward)

Just something I wanted to share. I think necros skill damage needs to be rechecked, Inarious is meant to be the nova set as well as work with the iron rose offhand but wow 450% damage for a skill is insanely low. 18.9x less damage than one miranae smite

[PSA] Becareful with claiming your Challenge Rift Reward next week prior to Thursday! You can claim in Season once it's live!

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 01:52 PM PDT

This post is only relevant, if you are eligible go into Challenge Rift in Seasonal prior to hitting Level 70 and completing a Solo Greater Rift (ty to /u/bagstone for pointing that important thing out to me!). The Bluepost is not specific about the Level required to enter a seasonal CR - nevertheless, you should still save your CR reward for a "slightly better" seasonal start (once your are 70 - if that is required). If not:

Low Level CR-Reward Stratetgy

Video (00:02:50) : https://www.twitch.tv/videos/158643575

TL:DW:

  • Bluepost: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/20757677236
  • Delay your Challenge Rift Reward next Week till the Season is live
  • Level to the appropriate Level X with your class
  • Go into CR -> Claim your reward on seasonal -> gain ~300 bloodshards
  • Gamble/Snipe an overpowered lowlevel item at Kadala (d3planner.com/kadala)
  • the video gives an example of a few "early on overpowered" low level items that can carry you and your group through master/torment difficulties
  • noteworthy items (not a complete list, might have forgotten some powerhouses - just let me know in comments):
    • Monk: Gungdo Gear
    • Wizard: Manald Heal
    • Necro: Julian's Love
    • Any Class: Puzzle

Cheers

Why don't pets gather Crafting Materials automatically ?

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 05:25 AM PDT

This is just so frustrating, that your pet only gathers gold. Sometimes I personally miss so many Materials, because I don't see them or it just slows me down when I have to run 15 meters back just to pick up my death breath..

Trag'oul's Speed Mages T13-GR70 Necromancer Build

Low-level gambling Manald Heal?

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 05:34 PM PDT

Has anyone ever successfully gambled Manald Heal on a low level wizard? If so, at what level?

Because I couldn't find any reliable information, I started testing it myself. Most posts say that you can gamble an item at the level -7, so the MH should be available at level 17 (since it's a level 24 ring according to the Game Guide). After about 3k shards and no luck I went up the levels... 18, 19, 20, 21 - still nothing. But the weird thing is, even after gambling 2k shards at level 24 I'm still only getting blues, yellows, and the Leoric's Signet.

So before I continue with my quest: has anyone ever gone down this road and can offer reliable info at which level you can acquire a MH from Kadala?

The Necromancer is the first hero to force us to make meaningful decisions with our gear

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 06:56 AM PDT

So far every legendary and set was a pure buff coming at no cost.

What I really enjoy with the concept of the Necro gear so far that I haven't seen before:
1) Scythe of the Cycle increases damage of your secondaries but reduces Bone Armor's duration
2) Trag Oul's 6 piece set bonus - increases damage but also increases Health cost
3) Haunted Visions - again increased Health cost for a longer duration of Simulacrum

For me that is a breath of fresh air, because it's not the standard "Wear this and you'll be strong, fast and durable". You have to "sacrifice" something to gain something which for me is a deeper concept and more fun. (Sunwuko's stack cost does not count, let's be honest...)

Is the Double XP Weekend for consoles too?

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 07:11 PM PDT

I don't see any official statements, but I haven't been paying close enough attention to Diablo lately to know if they usually do these events on all platforms or just PC. I figure if it's on PS4, might be a good time to pick up the expansion :)

Best Speed Necro Build?

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 04:48 PM PDT

Going to start farming blood shards to make a speed build to farm Trag'ouls. Was wondering which is the fastest. From what I can see its the bone armor Inarius set but heard it was going to get a nerf. So is it the fastest and has the nerf happened already?

Scythe of the Cycle feels weird/bugged to me.

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 02:02 PM PDT

I observed this when playing a blood build with Scythe of the Cycle, Bone Armor, Iron Rose and Blood Nova.

Whenever my Bone Armor is fresh it feels like Novas almost doesn't influence it (I can cast multible Novas without the Bone Armor bar depleting much). But then sometimes when the bar is 50%ish depleted I get "lucky" and get like 3-5 Iron Rose procs which results in my Bone Armor depleting rapidly: Losing the 25-35 seconds remaining duration over 1-2 seconds. In these cases it goes down so fast that I can sometimes not cast it again before it runs out.

Sometimes when the duration is down to about 10 seconds a single Nova ends the Bone Armor. After now playing the build a couple hours it seems like the penalty of Scythe of the Cycle ramps up with decreasing Bone Armor duration. For example: I never lost the first half of my bone armor nearly as quickly as described for the second half (which is really common).

Have the staff of herding...

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 05:36 PM PDT

Now how do I get into whimsyshire? I try to go up from the old ruins way point along old Tristram road, but I never see a cow skeleton or a rainbow portal. I have the staff in my inventory. Does anybody know why it doesn't appear?

For the love of god someone help me im a horder

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 12:52 PM PDT

I save literally everything, thing is, i get sentimental about anything. If one staff helped me through something we are buddies for life. Now I have at least gotten to the point that its only legendaries and set legendaries, but my stash is COMPLETELY FULL.

Can someone help me with a brief, "what to keep what to toss?" because that is probably the worst part of the problem, I don't know which one is better so i don't know what to throw out!

T_T I don't even have half of my inventory space anymore

Need help making a "check list" for the New Season (Necromancer)

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 02:40 PM PDT

So me and a friend is gonna go hard with this season for the first time. I've been watching a bunch of videos on leveling, and while some are a bit different, this is what i have gotten so far.

  1. Start a game without your friend, pick up follower weapon

  2. Start on Master -> Kill Zoltun Kulle or Magdha (whichever one has a bounty).

  3. Lower difficulty to Hard and go to Fields of Misery or Halls of Agony until you hit level 7-12

  4. Go to different merchants and check if they have rings and amulets that give +damage. Clear all Act 2 bounties (for seasonal journey) since you already cleared Magdha bounty or Kulle bounty.

  5. Go through campaign (normal) up till the Leoric boss fight and get his crown

  6. Go back to adventure mode (hard) and get Kanai's Cube.

  7. Around level 20-25 start doing rifts

  8. Craft 1 hand weapon and try to get "18 reduced levels" on it at level 42.

  9. Same as above with level 70 weapon at level 61.

Now what i was wondering most about is whether to do Season Journey in between steps 7-9 since this part is just you leveling, you might as well clear season journey along the way right? I was also wondering what items i should craft for Necromancer along the way. There is a lot of google sheets out there with what items you should craft for your charechter at what level, but none for Necro yet since he is so new.

These are the steps i have noticed so far from different guides and videos, after this i am getting a lot of mixed comments. Some say to go do normal rifts, other says to simply follow seasonal journey

3 wiz / monk farming

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 05:44 PM PDT

Hey guys, is anyone able to tell me what makes 3x wiz/monk the optimal setup for xp farming? Additionally, is anyone able to point me in the direction of the optimal wizard setup for this comp? I was considering leveling a dh first in s11 because of ue speedfarming, but if wiz is just as fast there and is the most efficient xp farmer, I may have to reconsider. Thanks!

Is there anyway to turn off see through coop ?

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 02:44 PM PDT

Last time I played coop on diablo 3 all the skills were visible no matter what they were. I'm on Xbox one and things like the call of ancient 3 guys were visible and defined for other players. I was wondering if there was a way to turn that off so I can see coop players skills. Thanks
