How do you guys stop playing this game? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 04:40 AM PDT It's so damn addicting. I told myself last turn at 12pm and I'm still playing at 6pm. Help [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Jul 2017 05:32 PM PDT I liked playing epic speed in Civ V, so I was wondering if it's also good in Civ VI. Is it balanced or are there some major issues? Production time seems longer in general so I'm not sure. [link] [comments]

Should I Up The Difficulty or Just Commit? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 11:18 AM PDT So I'm a fairly defensive player and often go for culture or science victories in Civ 5 and 6, but I wanted to try my hand at a domination victory. Try as I might, I can't seem to find it in me to commit. I slay one poor fool spawned too close to me, then throw up eight or more cities on a peninsula, gain a massive tech and production lead from districts in several cities with workshops and libraries everywhere and have so much to build and do that it'd feel slow going just for units. I really dislike the idea of going up above King difficulty, because the developers are awful at designing AI and instead of making better decisions they gain extra tech and units to start with. Should I just cut it out with tossing down new districts everywhere and sweep across the continent with a wave of units? Suppose it seems fairly obvious... I'm playing Civ 6. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Jul 2017 12:23 PM PDT Hey everyone, I started with Civ5 a couple years ago and immediately got addicted. I'm onto Civ6 now and looking for some players who would be down to start an online game where we play for a few hours a week. I've tried doing online before but I'm not a big fan of the super quick speed and everyone dropping out. I should add that I like to play on the slower speeds (usually epic) as it forces me to look ahead more and think about long term planning. If you're interested in something like this lmk! Obviously, I'm flexible and open to any other suggestions. [link] [comments]
What does Civ 4 do better than Civ 5? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 07:55 PM PDT I grew up with 4 and have over 1000 hours in Civ 5 & 6. I haven't returned to 4 since being a child and was wondering what reason I would have to still enjoy an older Civ (besides nostalga). [link] [comments]
My DLCs are not showing up in the "Additional Content" tab.. Posted: 17 Jul 2017 04:00 PM PDT The scenarios are showing up, but not the actual DLCs. Does anyone know a soloution to this? [link] [comments]
Is there a mod for civ 6 that makes the borders on the mini map like civ 5s? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 03:49 PM PDT Specifically, not showing tiles owned on the water, I love civ 6 but the blobby minimap borders look really bad [link] [comments]
Quick Question About Building Tall (and Shoshone) (civ5) Posted: 17 Jul 2017 12:55 PM PDT Hello again! I made a post a bit ago about what civ to try. I ended up wanting to go Shoshone lol. I read Zigzagzigal's guide. And to my understanding, a scientific victory is best going tall. I'm curious about going the Shoshone and building tall for a scientific victory. Does building tall mean ONE city, aka capital, or building few cities, aka 1-2 extra other then capital. Also what is the priority of ancient runes? My understanding is faith>pop>culture>upgrade. Thanks so much for any help, and if you have any other tips or guides I should read for the Shoshone let me know :). [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Jul 2017 02:50 PM PDT I have the intent of starting on a Switzerland mod in the next couple weeks. I recently visited the country and loved it, but I know only the roughest outlines of Swiss history, so I'm looking for inspiration. I already have some cool ideas, but I want to know what other people more familiar with Switzerland would want to see in a Swiss civ. How would you want them to play? Who are good leader candidates? Would Switzerland even work in the game? Would a science or cultural victory be more appropriate? [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Jul 2017 06:33 PM PDT Hi there, I'm going a little crazy trying to finish a Civ game I started last week. After running just fine for the past few months on my Surface Pro 4, Civ won't launch from Steam anymore. This has happened twice in last few days, and both times I ended up correcting by uninstalling and reinstalling Civ, but that's a time-consuming process. If anyone has any ideas about why the game has suddenly stopped launching for me, and what I can do to correct them, I'd love to hear them! Thanks for reading. [link] [comments]
Why does Macedon has a slavic theme song? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 05:39 AM PDT The theme song is based on the song "Tino Mori". Are they implying the Alexander was a slav or was the music designer was lacking in knowledge? [link] [comments]
What do you do inbetween your Civ rounds? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 11:10 AM PDT I read that someone was cycling on his hometrainer while playing civ and I was wondering what you guys and girls are doing? I'm thinking about maybe studying if my attention span allows. I'd study 1 ppt slide or for example for anatomy 1 muscle per turn. Popular seems to be doing 2 push-ups/ sit-ups inbetween rounds, altough I don't think it is a very progressive work out and for our 1-more-turn gamers it could lead to overtraining! Or do you just watch how everyone is moving their pieces and think about your next turn? [link] [comments]
Anybody know about the (OFFICIAL) Civ 6 worldbuilder? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 04:13 PM PDT The current worldbuilder that is able to be enabled is good, but it's clearly not complete. Cultural borders are impossible to paint unless you do plot by plot, AND you can't change city names, which makes TSL games annoying to create without scripting. Anybody know what to do about these issues or when the official one will get released? [link] [comments]
Civ 6 stuck on 2K splash screen when I tab into it. Posted: 17 Jul 2017 11:06 AM PDT Basically, I decided to pick up Civ 6 again. Went to boot it up, and as soon as I tab into the game it just freezes on the 2K screen like this. The game boots up already alt+tabbed for some reason. I think this is because I had it set to borderless windowed. If I don't bother tabbing into it, it will go through all the cutscenes and splash art fine. But as soon as I click back into the game, it will cut back to this 2K screen and overlap the menu like this (I clicked on the cutscene to tab in, might not be obvious since my mouse wasn't picked up). In that screenshot I linked, you can see the main menu in the bottom left corner where the little steam popup would normally be. When I hold alt+tab to see all my open tabs, it shows the main menu in the thumbnail. If I line up my mouse on a certain button on the main menu and click, it will actually be responsive as well. I can start a game, check leaderboards, exit from the main menu, etc. But the 2K splash is just stuck overlapping everything. Couldn't find any info on this anywhere else. Not sure what to do besides reinstall. [link] [comments]
Civ6 - Mod stopping technological advancements? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 02:23 PM PDT Hi! Is there a mod that prevents all players from advancing up the tech tree? When I was young (some 10+ years ago) I played a game called Empire Earth 2 (iirc), and not only could you choose to start in say the Industrial Era, but you could also choose that all players couldn't advance beyond the Industrial Era. Is there an option/mod for that in Civ6? I'd like to try and play Civ6 but only advancing to Horsemen or so. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Jul 2017 01:59 PM PDT I have downloaded the barbarians evolved mod however it seems that a different mod is making it impossible for barbarians to capture settlements. They wear the health of the city down but cannot capture it. Anybody know which mod is causing this problem? [link] [comments] |
