| [BotW] Why oh why did they make the map borders invisible walls? Posted: 27 Jun 2017 08:22 AM PDT Best game I ever played. Definitely. But there were so many alternative solutions to invisible walls. Games 20 years old had procedurally generated deserts and oceans once you passed the map borders. Banjo-Kazooie had an unkillable monster preventing you from swimming out too far in the ocean. There's already one unkillable creature in the game, so it's not like it'd break immersion any more than invisible walls. Shit, I'd have preferred Zelda's voice "calling you back" somehow to "You cannot go further game player" in the middle of the open ocean. The way they handled the northern canyon would be fine if you couldn't see the ground. It's a minor gripe, but it's all the more salient when it's present in such a great game. [link] [comments] |

| Strange, but looking forward to DLC Pack 1 more than 2 right now... Posted: 27 Jun 2017 05:36 AM PDT I know DLC Pack 2's contents have only been mildly hinted at so far, but the idea of starting the game over from scratch on Friday, on the harder difficulty, and using that as an excuse to play through with the Japanese VO, but also tackle the game differently has me pretty excited. Anyone else looking forward to Friday? And why? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 27 Jun 2017 07:02 AM PDT Hi everyone. I want to start reading the Zelda manga, as im a huge fan of TLOZ. I plan to start with: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Legendary Edition and go from there. I was just wondering if these are considered canon or not? [link] [comments] |

| Best game in a very long time! Posted: 27 Jun 2017 06:12 AM PDT I was hesitant at first to get the switch and this game, i use to get every game console available. Ive only had a xbox for years now, and i know what a investment of time a zelda game requires. But since i picked this up, i exclusively play this game and honestly to me its the best zelda since ocarina of time. i didnt want a game that required so much time, but here i am 100 hrs into the game and wanting more. | Posted: 27 Jun 2017 10:26 AM PDT (IRL) The other day, I was looking out the window at something and someone said 'We'll have to go there one time'. And I genuinely said: 'I'll have to mark it on the map with my Sheikah Slate. XD [link] [comments] |

| Will I be disappointed starting one of the other Zelda games? Posted: 27 Jun 2017 09:52 AM PDT My first LoZ was WindWaker on release day, I lived that game for months and did 100% of the game. A few months later I did Ocarina of Time and two years ago I got Link to the past on VC and had a great time playing it as well. Currently, I'm about halfway through BotW and it's by far my favorite yet. I'm taking my time with it. Not planning on going for 100% because korok seeds, but I'm trying to do as much as I can. My question, is after playing what most consider the best of the series, is it worth picking up Skyward Sword, or Twilight Princess or any of the other games in the franchise? Or will it just be disappointing now that I've done BotW? [link] [comments] |
| [Wind Waker] I need help knowing where to go. Posted: 27 Jun 2017 09:29 AM PDT I completed Dragon Roost Cavern and learned the wind song. I went over to Windfall Island and bought the Swift Sail. But now the King of Red Lions won't let me go anywhere. Whenever I try to sail in any direction he says "We need to go directly to our destination". [link] [comments] |

| It's been on my chest and I have to say it.... Breath of the Wild is too easy.[Opinion] Posted: 27 Jun 2017 08:56 AM PDT Breath of the Wild is way too easy. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I was kind of disappointed in the lack of difficulty in this game. Sorry in advance for the formatting but I'm on my phone. -Dungeons I spent hours discovering a beautiful world. Going through doing about 80% of the side quests. I did every shrine and found about 110 seeds. The 4 dungeons were all great! Very creative and had some really cool dynamics. But did anyone else find them incredibly easy? The puzzles were pretty standard. Nothing crazy like we're used to. Remember the tower of God's in Wind Waker? Or the Water Temple from OoT? Not to mention the insanely easy boss fights. Maybe I have such high standards for dungeon design because we've been blessed with amazing difficult challenges from Twilight Princess all the way back to the orginal but this game was not hard. I loved the concepts of shrines and there were a few that required me to really really think that's why I just recently finally got the last one, but for the most part the shrines were cake. -Gannon Fight When I fought Gannon in the end I thought it was a joke. I beat Gannon in under maybe 8 minutes. Now I realize nowadays they dumb games down for a younger audience. So I wasn't expecting a fight like OoT or Majoras Mask. But this fight was way too easy. Let's not forget that a few years ago it was an accomplishment beating a zelda game. One of my favorite moments as a kid was when I beat OoT for the first time. I remember battling Gannon for almost an hour! Now it was a walk in the park and honestly it made beating the game alot less satisfying. -Overall As someone who loves The Legend of Zelda. Played every single Zelda game and has beat everyone except Zelda 2 I am disappointed in the way the standard of difficulty is going in the series. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the game. The gameplay was fresh. Graphics were amazing. And wow what an amazing world to discover. But Nintendo can you please stop making your games easier and easier. TL;DR While Breath of The Wild flourishes in gameplay, graphics, and story the difficulty is pretty disappointing and the fact we have to pay to make the game harder makes me even more upset. | [BoTW] I think that's enough Zelda for today... Posted: 26 Jun 2017 10:14 PM PDT I screwed up the Eventide Island trial so bad, I'm amazed I didn't have to restart the darn thing. I first found the axe in the tree stump, and I sacrifice a heart to get a weapon. I then come across the bokoblin camp on the beach. I forgot I could use bombs at this point, so I whack the archer bokoblins to death before doing a sneak attack on the black bokoblin. Okay, going great so far. I use put the first ball on the podium at the start of the beach. At this point, I still don't remember I can use bombs. I climb the cliff to the second enemy camp with the black moblin. I was a complete moron and ran down the cliff with the second, not seeing the podium for it right next to it, thinking I don't have to fight these guys. I dropped the ball and it rolled next to the Hinox, and realized what an absolute idiot I was, eyeing the podium under the slab. At this point I remember I have bombs to use, and I wreck the shit out of the camp on the cliff before starting to get the ball back. When I tried to retrieve the ball, I ended up waking the Hinox. I only have like 7 arrows at this point, and I only manage to get the Hinox's eye like 2 or 3 times, leaving me to resort to bomb-spamming him about 2/3 of this health. This is a very slow, grueling process. I go kill the other enemy camp up the small hill with bombs fine, and I put the Hinox's ball there, no problem. I spend about 30 minutes trying to find a way to carry the ball up the cliff, failing miserably. I make a couple attempts to use stasis to launch the ball up, but I can't manage to get a good enough vertical angle on it. I go to the hill camp and start trying to use the metal crates to push the ball up the cliff. No dice. I lose the metal crate down the cliffside a couple times. I then spend another 30 minutes trying to position the ball on top of a bomb to launch it up the cliff. My first launch ends up with the ball in the water behind the first camp, forcing me to retrieve it via Cryonis-jumping. When I get back, I notice the metal crates reset positions from my attempt to use one. So the crates reset, but the ball doesn't, got it. I end up landing the ball on the correct cliff on my second launching attempt. What do I get from the shrine at the end of the day? ... 300 rupees 300 fucking rupees ... I'm going to bed.
