A map of Azeroth labelled by Hearthstone expansions

Posted: 25 Jun 2017 11:14 PM PDT

It's not pretty, but it's something I felt the need to do after I realized so many expansions were based entirely/mostly in southern Kalimdor. The legend for each continent is under its respective map.

So I was playing latest tavern brawl as paladin and got [[Swamp King Dred]] and played him and [[Repentance]] where this happened. Friend and I later recreated it and decided to upload it for you all to enjoy. Looks like King Dred has the highest precedence of any "When a minion is played".

Why I always accept friend requests

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 06:45 AM PDT

So there I am at Wild rank 7, 5 stars, playing my homebrew Casino Mage deck (pretty much every card that searching for Random gives me) and I run into a rank 6 zoolock.

The first few turns go by, and thanks to two flamewankers, a coin and two arcane missiles, I am able to stop the zoo flooding the board. But I am losing life. Too little too late I think to myself.

E-sportal gives me an Aviana on turn 7. I have Yogg in hand. My one chance. Turn 8. 6 life remaining. I play the winged wonder that allows me to play to the one true Old God for one mana. Tree of mother fucking life. Hallelujah. Praise Yogg indeed. Thr come back is on.

In the end, I overkill the win thanks to two turns of Pyroblasts (neither of which I had in my deck to start with of course). Immediately after I receive a friend request. I fully expect rage. And instead I receive this:

Another friend for my ever growing friends list. Sure, I still get the raging SOBs who delete me before I even have a chance to laugh at them for their screaming, but still. All of those are worth it for the occasional people who appreciate an entertaining game. Even if it's due to pure dumb Hearthstone luck.

Don't really have any friends who care about hearthstone, so I figured I'd share this here. Finally got all golden classes. Been playing since 2014. Got golden mage first and golden priest last.

What have I learned over this painfully long journey? Anger management skills. Also, no one in this game really wants to be your friend after a game...

Not F2p btw

First off congrats to mitsuhide! Really well played and nice underdog win for this free agent.

Secondly the casual atmosphere and chemistry between the casters really made watching enjoyable. All the memes and flashbacks to reckfull missing lethal where priceless.

Expert AI doesn't understand the Rogue Quest

Posted: 25 Jun 2017 12:48 PM PDT

The Warrior Cruel Taskmastered my "1/1" and the Rogue Backstabbed my "1/2".

I know people like to circlejerk about bad AI, but c'mon, it's an easy fix.

EDIT: Also, PSA: Defeating all classes on practice expert mode earns you 100 gold, and right now Quest Rogue is a great deck to plow through as fast as possible.

Off-Meta Spotlight: Thief Miracle Rogue

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 08:07 AM PDT

Hey guys, Spark here! As the metagame is pretty stable at the moment and the season is about to end, today I wanted to share a fun deck that can still compete with other meta-decks on the ladder. If you are bored of the metagame or simply finished the climb and want to chill a little bit, this Off-Meta Spotlight is here for you!

This time I'm shining a light on my Miracle Rogue variant that runs all the cards giving you card from your opponent's class and combines them with Ethereal Peddler for some funny and unpredictable up-tempo plays.

I hope you'll enjoy the deck as much as I do and have some fun with it while waiting for the next season! Don't hesitate to share your thoughts and ask any question in the comment section below ;)

Molten Blade into the same weapon twice in a row?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 06:26 AM PDT

The card text states: "Each turn this is in your hand, transform it into a new weapon."

I thought this means it cannot be the same weapon twice in a row, since it "transforms into a NEW weapon". However, I just played an arena run where the weapon stayed the same several times over 2 turns.

Wouldn't it be more fun if it changed every turn? Does the same thing happen with Shifter Zerus?

I would like to see which cards my opponent had in his hand after the game

Posted: 25 Jun 2017 11:00 PM PDT

It would be cool if the cards in the hands would spread over when one of the portraits explode. Most of the time I cannot understand why opponent play in a specific way and I wonder which cards he has in his hand. I think this should be an easy implementation in the game also doesn't affect the gameplay in any matter.

What do you guys think?

(Sorry for english)

Next Expansion Announcement?

Posted: 25 Jun 2017 05:48 PM PDT

Any idea when we might get the announcement for the next expansion? I feel like we've got to be ~2 months away, so I am kind of surprised we haven't even heard the name or theme or anything.

Is Patches a Good Craft?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 02:31 AM PDT

I only have all karazhan legendaries plus fandral staghelm, hunter quest, and priest quest. Also I have 2500 dust. Should I craft pirate warrior? Considering going all in on the deck. Is patches worth crafting?

Can you enjoy this game if you only play casually, without spending any money or really competing?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 01:31 AM PDT

Everything I hear about Hearthstone is about people playing competitively. People complain about having to spend upwards of $50 every time an expansion comes out, just to get started with the new cards. Thats not what I'm looking for. I'm just looking for a fun card game I can use to kill an hour here and there when I have nothing to do. I don't want to spend any money buying cards, or sink hours every day grinding through ranks/ levels/ whatever, just to keep up. Can I play like that and still have fun, without constantly feeling like I'm behind everybody else and missing out on all the good stuff? Or should I look for a different game?

Sorry if this post is against a rule I didn't see. New to the subreddit and all that.

By far the most fun game ive played in ages.

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 07:32 AM PDT

This game ended up very silly

I was playing a weird homebrew Hunter deck which trys to pull off the dream of Carnassa + elise combo to get 15 extra random legendaries . He was playing Quest priest, which means he has a lot of cards that try to steal my wincon. I completed quest, he used mind visions and got Carnassa, and then got another one off another of his priest cards, as well as the hyena.

Even though he'd clearly won at this point, he was kind enough to let me pull off my combo. We then saw how cycling the 30 carnassa broods he has in his deck could make a hilariously huge hyena, so the game became a legendary minion boss rush trying to pump up the hyena as big as possible. Along the way i topdecked Ysera and got the dream card with the sap effect, giving another 15 broods to play with (4th Carnassa played that game). Morgor the Ogre threatened to mess up his board, but being a pro player at rank 15 my opponent topdecked Shadow Word Death at just the right moment. He then managed to drop a Confessor Paletress, which rolled a Rag the Lightlord and he mind controlled my Prophet Velen, so with all that healing we were able to go nearly 12 turns into fatigue.

The screencap was taken about 3 turns before the actual end, which was unfortunately disappointing. I wanted to drop Tarim when the Hyena was about to be at its largest we could get it for maximum BM, but the game suddenly ended and was a draw and i never got to play it. I guess we ran out of time or something. Definitely the best game ive had in ages, was absolutely hilarious. Shout out to everyone on ladder who doesnt just lethal the opponant when you have the opportunity to do something this fun and crazy instead.

If mana was no longer capped at 10, what would the best decks be?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 08:16 AM PDT

Suppose that mana continued to increase every turn even past 10 mana without limit. Exodia mage seems pretty decent then; can you think of any other decks that become strong if Hearthstone didn't have a mana cap?
