And has come to out system to take the traveler's powers, the light, and take it for himself. [S] . The Vanguard has been scattered and now it's the job of the Guardian to bring them back [S] Destiny 2 will be able to run on 4K on the PS4 Pro, no information on Xbox 1 X as of yet. [S] All Consoles will run Destiny 2 on 30 FPS [S] Steve Cotton from Bungie has commented on the Destiny 2 saying: Steve Cotton: There is more to do in Destiny 2 than any other game we've ever made at Bungie What's New: Destiny 2 is going to have: - An all new cinematic campaign [S] called "The Red War" [S]

- Co-operative strikes (can have up to 3 players) [S]
- A brand new raid [S]
- New Crucible maps [S]
- New Crucible Game modes [S]
- Three new Subclasses (one for each class) [S]

Destiny 2 will have 4 new planets to visit: - Earth: European Dead Zone was ground-zero for a cataclysmic event that left a massive shard of The Traveler – the source of every Guardian's power and immortality – embedded into the vast landscape. For years, only wild vegetation and the remains of an abandoned city were evidence of our forgotten past. Now, the Red Legion are using the European Dead Zone as a staging ground for their war machine. [S]
- Titan: The great monuments of mankind's utopian Golden Age now lie toppled or half-submerged within the rolling ocean that blankets the entire surface of Titan. All that remains is a flotilla of construction barges and a lone human habitat that serves as the perfect hiding place for some of humanity's scattered forces – and something far more sinister below. [S] , This is where Zavala will be found. [S]
- IO: Io was the last place visited by The Traveler, and the site of great interest to both humanity and the timeless Vex machines. The Red Legion, too, now seek to unravel the secrets and power of this place, gouging at the surface, seeking to uncover new sources of power to aid in their quest to dominate our worlds. It is up to you to protect this place, and to preserve its great legacy. [S] , This is where Ikora will be found. [S]
- Nessus: Lush with giant twisted trees, deep caverns, waterfalls, and silver swamps, the origin of this planetoid remains unknown. What is clear is that the Vex have nearly transformed the entire planetoid into a machine world, above and below the surface. For those Guardians willing to brave the dangers and explore the myriad of mysteries, treasures beyond the imagination await. [S] . This is where Cayde-6 will be found [S]
The new social space that the guardians will have is called "The Farm" and is in the European Dead Zone. [S] Destiny 2 will have a new replayable activity called "Adventures" which are basically mini missions with more interesting mechanics. [S] [S] Destiny 2 will have a new activity called "Lost Sectors", which are mysterious locations that you can discover. When you find these places, you'll find a treasure and a boss that guards the treasure. [S] The lost treasure icons on your map will appear by talking to characters in the wild [S] DeeJ: When you first touch down, in a brand new destination. You may see 1 thing on your map, but as you start completing those missions, as you start completing those adventures, the characters that you interact with, that give you your marching orders, that equip you with your rewards, there will be this sort of progressive "now go do this" relationship that you'll have with those NPCs. Eventually you pull up your map and you got all these new things that you'll be able to do (new icons on the map basically) Here is an example of an "Adventure" available in Destiny 2, described by Luke Smith [S] : Luke Smith: There's one on EDZ, the European Dead Zone. You discover early in the adventure that there are these Cabal, these psions, who are casting invulnerability shields on another creature. So you have these encounters out in the open in the public zone, in the shared zones of our world, where you have psions who are making characters invulnerable. You kill the psions, the character's no longer invulnerable, you can kill the character. This then leads you into a place like a dark forest. In here, you're going to learn more about these psions, you're going to face more of these psions, and of course there's this encounter rhythm where we're teaching you that "kill the psion" is the key that you unlock to kill the bad guy. Then we play this note for you throughout this adventure, and it culminates with you fighting an [ultra-class enemy] with a giant gun and waves of ads in a big open forest where psions are continuously reinforcing the fight, making them vulnerable, etc. There's usually one central mechanic in a bunch of these that you repeat to sort of, again, understand mastering Players in Destiny 2 will be able to walk up to an activity and launch it from Patrol, no need to go to orbit. [S] [S] Destiny 2 Patrols are going to have some sort of a Fast Travel Option [S] Public events in Destiny 2 will have some sort of a Heroic objective to achieve [S] Destiny 2 Patrols are going to have a map [S] [S] that you can use for: - Tracking Activities. [S]
- Tracking Adventures. [S]
- Track Public Events. [S]
Destiny 2 will introduce a new thing called "A Flash Point". It's an activity that is going to happen each week and it's basically going to be a featured destination. When a location is the "Flash Point" of the week, new treasure maps will appear on the map as well as new activities. [S] Guided games will NOT be available for Hard Mode raids [S] Subclasses: Destiny 2 will add 3 new subclasses: - Arcstrider (Hunter): Summon an Arc Staff that bristles with energy to become a conduit of acrobatic devastation, storming your way through the heart of the battle. [S]
- Sentinel (Titan): Protect your allies with a Void Shield, capable of nullifying damage and erasing all threats both near and far. [S]

Some of the Older Sub-Classes were replaced by the newer sub-classes: - Arcstrider replaced Blade Dancer (Hunter Ark Subclass) [S]

[S] Energy weapons can deal additional damage (compared to power weapons) to guardians that have their supers active [S] All Destiny 2 Crucible game modes are 4v4, no more 6v6, 3v3, or Free-for-all (rumble). | In D2, I hope we get more enemy-inspired weaponry Posted: 25 Jun 2017 09:58 AM PDT Personally, the Taken armor set is hands down my favorite armor in the game. And the lore behind it, performing experiments on Taken to siphon their power and infuse weapons/armor with it, is just amazing. I'm really bummed there wasn't an exotic Taken weapon, since that process seems like the prime candidate for spawning such a rare/powerful weapon. We have a ton of exotic Hive weaponry that follow the same idea. Thorn, Necrochasm, even Bad JuJu. I just love the idea of assimilating the enemies we've defeated and using their conquered power/technology to make our Guardians stronger. In D2, I'd love to go on some quest where we build/forge a weapon by stealing/defeating certain enemies. An exotic Taken sword we charge by bathing in blight, or a Fallen gun we need to steal ether in order to power. Guardian guns like Gjallarhorn and Last Word are cool, but weapons themed around our enemies just have this feel of domination that no other gear gives you. submitted by /u/Cr4zyC4t [link] [comments] |

| Anyone else want to fight Dark Guardians in D2? Posted: 25 Jun 2017 02:14 AM PDT We know that Guardians can be corrupted by the Darkness(see: Dredgen Yor) and I think it would be interesting to have them as enemies. I know D2 is going to be more about the Red Legion, but it would be cool to have them as end game enemies, like a portent of the Darkness returning. submitted by /u/Kingolulz [link] [comments] |
| Got tired of normal montages, decided to make something different. Posted: 25 Jun 2017 05:05 AM PDT Rather than showing off kills, I decided to go all out on the editing to make something a little more artsy than the norm. This featured getting HUDless clips from friends (They were made just for editing) and then pushing my editing skill as much as I could. Working on it off and on, it took around 5 months to complete. | The things we, as Guardians, need to have in D2 Posted: 25 Jun 2017 09:27 AM PDT There are a lot of things I am hoping for when thinking about D2. Each one can be argued whether or not it is important or trivial, but these are the things that we, irrefutably, need in order for D2 to be a success: A tree to climb Something to kick Decorations that are spaced just far enough to where only a perfect jump will land from one to another. Distingushable geographical features to properly identify where Xur is (and a second place near nothing else where he will be 80% of the time) A large space to slide into the Cryptarch An area to push AFK party members to thier death. "Safe" spaces where people incorrectly think they will not be pushed to thier death whilst AFK A very tall point to look down at the others, condescendingly A social area where you instantaneously get messages to join a party, and never do. | [PC] Just pre-ordered Destiny 2 Digital Deluxe with WoW gold! Posted: 25 Jun 2017 01:44 PM PDT Still had to put in a couple of dollars out of pocket due to the grand total being $108+change, but it cost roughly 854,000 gold for $105 Battle.net balance from tokens (Each token was roughly 122k gold per $15 b.net balance at the time of purchase). I know there are literally dozens of us and I implore the rest of you WoW-loving guardians to consider going this route for your copy. You've got plenty of time to farm that gold and the prices on tokens should only keep dropping! submitted by /u/Exeftw [link] [comments] |
| Lore: The Books of Sorrow Part 4 - The War on Fundament Posted: 25 Jun 2017 01:24 PM PDT Video Version: https://youtu.be/iKnFno5Rhww The Books of Sorrow Part 4 The War On Fundament Welcome back guardians! In the last report we tackled the next two books, in the hive origin saga, the books of sorrow. Specifically detailing and explaining the bargain that was made with the Worm God Yul and the three sisters, the evident war of moral forces the sky and the deep and finally the lessons we may be able to learn from the Krill people. The next step for the three sisters was simple, they've already saved themselves, or at least believed they had, now they must rescue the remainder of their people in the Osmium court and those who would swear loyalty to them. But what was required of the Three sisters was more than just a bargain in their favor, the action they were about to undertake would have consequences that would cultivate a once bewildered and defeated people, into a race of xenophobic warriors, hell bent on the sky's annihilation. The Final Bargain There was a change coming, not just for Fundament, but for the Krill people, as they would take their first steps into becoming the Hive we constantly battle against today. After Aurash and her two sisters accepted the bargain of Yul, the worms then gave them the three sisters an ultimatum to present to the rest of the Krill. Join in the symbiosis cultivated by worm and krill, or be crushed beneath Fundament's god-wave. But is that a choice? The Books of Sorrow continually prove that choice is an illusion, especially when placed against the survival instincts of groups of people pressed for an immediate decision. Perhaps the path of the Krill and that of the three sisters was always predestined, as if the light and the dark had picked their champions well before the ages of the krill or the leviathan. The books of sorrow force us to ask difficult questions, that often have no simple answers and only open us to tangents of possibility or impossibility, depending on your preference. We now know that Fundament was made to imprison these Worm Gods, that the leviathan had been there warden and that species that live on fundament had been called there by the deep. This is evident when the Needle ship was described as ancient space worthy craft, used by the Krill's original predecessors, perhaps originally called to fundament by the deep but consequently thwarted by the sky. The King, Mother, and Knight But lets get back on topic, regardless of how interesting those tangents can be, what were we discussing, ahh yes, the change occurring between the three sisters, specifically that of Aurash, after accepting the deal with the Worm God Yul. (Book X: Immortals) "We are the Worm your God, the Flesh of Hope. Our compact is done: you are Aurash Eternal. And we are bound to you, as close as your appetites, as your loves or needs, as the weapon in your fists and the word in your throat." Such cryptic words transcribed in this chapter, but wholly telling of the new pact that has been made between god and mortal, between worm and insect. To wonder, what rush of emotions flooded the three sisters after their quest has seen sharp turns, full of despair and salvation. Now seemingly at their hour of fortune, they had the power, and time eternal to live out their greatest ambitions, regardless of what the cost could have been. The three sisters made a decision for not just Osmium Court, but the Hydrogen Fountain, the Bone Plaza and the Star-Surgey and perhaps more locations in which the krill occupied. Imagine our vanguard leader zavala, making a decision for all of us guardians, that forced us into lives of servitude, to god's we didn't understand or chose not to worship, imagine the outrage of forced enslavement. Again, context is key, the three sisters and the the people of fundament had no choice, as choosing death is never a choice for the living, for those with dreams of sanctuary. The worm god Yul made that clear, stating (Book X: Immortals) "If anyone rejects symbiosis with our children, make an example of them. A mighty wave is coming for them all. They'd die anyway; save only what can be saved." And in fairness, Yul was correct, if the god-wave was a reality, spawned by the sky, the people of Fundament would die, either by it, or by the hands of Aurash, if you wanted to live, wanted a continued existence, servitude was appealing. What Would You Become For a moment, let us ask the question of how would you have chosen as a guardian? Now in our hour of need, our traveller imprisoned and our city decimated, are we not like the three sisters? Are we not exiled from our home? And while we may not have been betrayed by one of our own like Taox the Deceiver, or so we assume, is our current plight not, at least not relatable to that of the Osmium Court? If an unknown power came to you, offered you salvation while only requiring you to follow your ambitions, your base desires of what makes you unique, would not take that chance to rescue us all from damnation? Perhaps a conversation for another time, but intriguing nonetheless. The Long Thought The final transformation Aurash would make, the final steps away from childish notions of exploring a world that wished for you only death, was a transformation into a king and the inheritance of new name, Auryx, meaning Long Thought. It's interesting to note that this is the first time in the books of the sorrow, that Aurash has taken on a male form, with a more masculine name change. Perhaps the three sisters can chose whichever sex they'd like to embody at will, perhaps the idea of permanent sex has never been accepted by their culture, and they have an ability to be fluid between the two. The Worm God Yul would say (Book X: Immortals) "The worm grants you power over your own flesh, Aurash. When you've taken the king morph, what will your adult name be?" Its interesting, as many would come to understand Oryx as a male, or at least dominantly masculine, but more than likely, the Hive have the ability to morph between the sexes, a power granted by the worm for whatever is most appropriate or useful. It is during this time, just after the time that the three exiles resurfaced, that they made their move to make war on Taox and the helium drinkers still occupying their home, the Osmium Court. Sathona, now taking the mother morph as Savathun, was integral in driving up the numbers of the new Hive army as stated by the Worm Gods (Book XI: Conquerors) "We are pleased with your use of our larvae to create mighty knights and plentiful warriors." Just as guardians are closely tied to their ghosts, the warriors of the hive are closely intertwined with their worm, the only major difference being that worm larvae requirements of the host. As the war on Fundament raged, the oncoming god-wave, still evidently approaching unhindered, occupied the thoughts of the worm gods, ever whispering into the ears of their faithful. This world ending moment would surely destroy the worms as well as all species on Fundament, so in a sense, the fates of the Hive and the Worm were equal, for one of only a few moments listed in the Books of the Sorrow. The worm's knew, as Aurayx had know, the world ender would decimate all, and the war to retake their home, to dominate the many continents of Fundament unhindered, was only a short term objective. To continue the legacy of the Krill, now more closely likened to insects, than their original make up, must leave Fundament behind, they must take their inexorable conquest to the moons. Cutting the Fabric of Space But leaving Fundament was not such a simple task, if there was a species of the 500 or so that occupied Fundament with the capability of leaving the planet's surface, they would not give their knowledge away freely. And the worms, when speaking Xi Ro, now Xivu Arath the Knight Morph knew this. They whispered (Book XII: Out of the Deep) "The Leviathan's agents work tirelessly to destroy ships and engines, trapping us on Fundament. If we cannot make ships, we will become them. Overwhelm the Kaharn bastion. Slaughter everyone there. From your acts we shall obtain the logic we require to cut space open and migrate to orbit." This sacred knowledge, the first mention of what would become the Hive's matured ability to create holes in space time, was perhaps the very foundation of the Hive's true power. A power given to them in the form of small whispers, ever so slightly pushing the conquerors on a path more aligned to the goals of the Worm Gods, with the immediate objective being freedom. Sky and Deep Truly, these worm gods are formidable beings, whatever they truly may be, and the books of sorrow offer valuable insight into learning their capabilities and what their true motivations are. But let us not forget, that while the story of Auryx, Savathun, and Xivu Arath are intriguing, these individuals are murders of a million, destroyers of star systems and conquerors of a billion year vendetta. All we can hope to do is learn from their mistake, that perhaps when pressed against the wall of oblivion there is more than one option of survival, that first and most likely choice is not always the clear path to salvation. It's a light hearted sentiment, to hypothesize on the potential of the worm's never being freed, of the God-Wave never coming to pass, but it is fruitless to imagine this reality, simply because it is not our own. I ask again guardians, would you take the power of the worm to save your people from an eternity of cold, lifeless silence? Or would you hope that your faithfulness to the sky would save you from an eternal freeze of life? Ponder Guardians, but remember, the worm god's are still out there. submitted by /u/ScumbagWally [link] [comments] |

| Calling all Shield Brothers! Posted: 25 Jun 2017 01:21 AM PDT My brother and I have been playing games together for as long as I can remember. Around Dark Below, we got a second Xbox and we're finally able to play Destiny together, and we've been playing all of what the game has to offer, together. Strikes, nightfalls, raids with the SQUAD, and some trials, have all fallen before us! Ever since Taken King came out our clan has dubbed us the Bond Brothers! I was pretty happy with that description. One of my favorite memories is FINALLY going flawless with my brother. I've been to the lighthouse before, but I'd always wanted to do it with my brother, and when we finally did it was one of my favorite Trials runs ever! How many guardians out there play with their siblings? Any great stories to share? submitted by /u/Noble_Auditore [link] [comments] |

| Idea for the Destiny community to get a fix of lore for all the missing details in D1 Posted: 25 Jun 2017 09:26 AM PDT What if Bungie went ahead and started making either a series or a few movies devoted to lore in D1? They could cover so much ground with animated episodes or movies that look like what Zavala's backstory trailer for D2 looks like and I think a lot of us would be ecstatic about it. Maybe even Netflix would pick it up, I don't know how relative the popularity of it would be in regards to what they do/don't pick up, etc. I'd just love to see the first VoG team, as well as the real-time Ares 1 mission, the entire events leading up to the Golden Age as well as the Collapse. There are so many things we want to know about before our ghost revived us. Let us learn somehow. I think Netflix is even doing a series based on the Witcher. I think Destiny has enough story to justify something similar. submitted by /u/s-p-e-c-t-r-e-s [link] [comments] |
