Posted: 31 May 2017 06:16 AM PDT Zelda 64 was my first Zelda game. I was fighting Volvagia and only had one heart left. I was too in the moment to heal. I died, threw my controller on the floor as I was watching Link death animation. Then everything was still and a glowing ball came out from the ground, flew up and re-filled my health. I was in a oh shit moment and continue fighting and won. I thought you had to use your fairy to heal before you die, but never knew if you die, you get revived. [link] [comments] |
Are shops in Ocarina of Time completely useless? Posted: 31 May 2017 07:02 AM PDT I played through Ocarina of Time again recently, and something hit me: I don't think I ever once went into a shop. Shops are useful in some games like ALTTP, but I'm struggling to come up with a legitimate reason for why anyone would ever need to visit a shop for anything other than a blue potion, and even then, the free fairies which are literally everywhere do a better job 99% of the time. Everything the shops sell can be found by cutting grass, for free. The only potential reason I can think for why shops even exist is to help new players get items like blue fire if they, somehow, can't find it for free in the dungeons. There has to be SOME use for shops... right? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 May 2017 08:40 AM PDT I don't know if this is hinox specific or not, but I was fighting the oldest kin hinox from on top of one of the ribs, and it pulled an explosive barrel out of the ground! Really cool thing I only just discovered over 200 hours in and with 100% [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 May 2017 12:57 AM PDT I was thinking that in the future, Hyrule would start modernizing and could have a steampunk vibe to it. They can use the exact same map as a template, but with changes as a result of modernization (this would also have the benefit of drastically cutting down production time). Hyrule Castle could become a bustling city like mid 1800s London. Places like Tarrey Town, Hateno Village and and Kakariko Village could grow and evolve as well. Conflict could be created as a result of modernization. Perhaps the great spirits are angry about the destruction of the environment. Perhaps the Zora, Rito, Koroks, and Gorons make war with the Hylians as a result of their way of life being destroyed. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2017 08:20 AM PDT As all three games were made after the official timeline was released, I don't know where the games really fit in in the official timeline. Regarding BotW- the Rito seem more evolved as well as the crazy amount of rock salt left over from an ocean, as the item description says, so maybe it takes place after Wind Waker? Regarding A Link Between Worlds- it references A Link To The Past throughout the plot, but I was wondering if any games took place between ALTTP and ALBW, maybe TH because the graphics are very similar to ALBW? Regarding Triforce Heroes- as far as I know, it doesn't really mention many other games, but does have the "multiple link" trope that we see in Four Swords, so maybe it's related to that somehow, or maybe related to ALBW because of the similar controls and graphics and somewhat similar gameplay? Has anyone here been to Symphony of the Goddesses? Posted: 31 May 2017 09:23 AM PDT I'm really tempted to go. I've watched it online and the music just tugs at heartstrings. Has anyone here gone? Was it good? Where and how early did you buy your tickets? Which seat did you buy? WHY DOES TICKETMASTER REQUIRE A $17 SERVICE CHARGE?!?!? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 May 2017 01:23 PM PDT I thought it might be fun to share our first thoughts we had on BotW. When Nintendo first showed us the open world, the horses not running into trees mechanic and Link with a hood and shooting a bow, I thought it looked amazing! The world looked exactly like what I would expect from a Zelda in this day and age. But I also didn't really like the way Link looked. I just thought he was so girly! Wasn't a fan. When they came with some more trailer type stuff, I remember being 100% positive the story would include time travel. I believe they showed the Temple of Time with broken Guardians and later in the same video they showed Link fighting with live Guardians. The only way that could work was that you wake up in a world after something terrible had happened and that you eventually go back in time where everything and everyone is alive and you need to stop the terrible thing from happening. Though I absolutely loved the game, I do think I would've liked it if the world were more alive like in a lot of other Zelda games. So what were your thoughts?? [link] [comments] |
