You must read everything you find

Posted: 02 May 2017 03:51 AM PDT

I'v been playing Skyrim for almost 5y now, never made long gameplay sessions but this last month i choosed to clean everything, install all the mods that i like and start from scratch (best decision ever).

I used to neglect all books, using unread books glow to farm skill points, but then i asked on this very reddit wich books worth reading, and someone said that i should ready everything.

At first i was a little sceptical, most books i found was about politics in lands i never read about, but this didn't make me stop, i chosed to farm all volums then read all together, but what i found most pleasant is reading tales on skill books, the enchanting and conjuration books proved to have the most astonishing tales in the most fantasious scenarios.

TLDR: Read everything is good af, if find multi volum series collect the whole series 1st, unread books glow is a must have.

if bored at work like me me visit /r/skyrimlibrary im sure /u/Khrodes will apreciate

What are your Must-Have Mods

Posted: 02 May 2017 06:56 AM PDT

Hey reddit, what are your must-have mods for playing the old skyrim on PC? I'm looking to start a "mostly" vanilla playthrough, but wanted to see what everyone thought were the best QoL mods or coolest (lore friendly) additions.

Besides SkyUI, I mean. That's a given.

Decided to do a Legendary run.....

Posted: 02 May 2017 01:01 AM PDT

Made an Orc, heavy armor, wielding a two handed sword (first time for me, usually went mage or stealth build). Was all good and fun until I decided to do my first quest (second, but the first was to talk to the Jarl of Whiterun). Headed towards the ancient ruins to retrieve the slab when a common brown wolf attacked me and slaughtered me in 3 hits...... I tried 3 more times with very little success and no health potions.

I restarted all the way from Helgen and cheesed Hadvar (normally go stormcloaks but ye). I gained intense amounts of levels in my two handed so as to have a chance in legendary.

The way I cheesed Hadvar was to follow him into the cave, just before the bear fight. He will crouch down and say "I will follow your lead". All you do is, stand in front of him and hit him away from the bear, preferably into a corner. Every now and then he will teleport past you, but not far.

My friend asked, "Why even legendary if you're going to cheese it?". I don't have a proper answer. I just want to create a new character with a harder difficulty, but not impossible. I've done it with a mage in master but never legendary.

So basically I just want advice on how to approach the game (after I've cheese a bit). Many people say that you need a stealth build, but have had enough of that....

I am currently making another character, a Dunmer as weirdly enough I have only ever really used Altmer, Bretons, Nords, and one Khajit.
