Blizzard will announce the date for the next event like they did for previous events.
Every time I see people complain about Genji asking for heals behind enemy lines, I think back on moments like this

This thread is a compilation of all the upcoming Overwatch tournaments and esports over the next week. All links can be found on the sidebar under UPCOMING EVENTS.

Announcements

Rivalcade Overwatch Rumble

The Rumble returns a $5k Prize pool 16-team (8 invited and 8 qualifying) tournament. Invited teams include:

Sign-up for the Open Qualifier here on May 26th 7 PM EST. Tournament runs May 27th - 28th 3 PM EST.

Matches will be streamed at LiveTheBattle.

Professional Play

Alienware Monthly Melee

The Monthly Melee returns for its May tournament. Six invited teams and 2 qualifiers battle for a $10k prizepool. The invited teams are as follows:

Team Liquid	Immortals
YIKES!	Selfless Gaming
LG Evil	Counter Logic Gaming

Qualifiers will begin on May 19th. Group Play will run May 20th - 21st.

Matches will be streamed at Curse.

Overwatch Pacific Championship

Asia-Pacific region tournament with 3 teams from Taiwan, 2 teams from Japan and a team from Thailand, Hong Kong and Australia. Second round matches run Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (starting at 21:00 AEST, 16:00 AEST, and 16:00 AEST respectively).

Matches are streamed at FullCircle.

Community Events

HND: Overwatch Open VII

HND Gaming is back with another competitive EU tournament. Test your teams might against some of EU's best. Qualifiers begin May 19th 19:00 CEST. Playoffs begin May 20th 14:00 CEST.

Matches are streamed at HNDlive.

HASTE $1k Tournament Series

Provided by HASTE and hosted by the OverGuard, this 4 week PC tournament will run every Thursday for the 3 weeks. The top 4 teams qualify for the playoffs in Week 4. Playoffs begin May 20th 11 AM PDT.

Matches will be streamed at TheOverguard.

WarpMeta Open League

Max 12 teams will compete over 4 weeks + playoffs. Teams must have an average SR of under 3500. Registration closes May 19th. League begins May 23rd.

Matches will be streamed at WarpMetagg

Overwatch Scrub Cup

The Scrub Cup is a tournament for players 2500 SR and below wanting to experience a tournament with players at their skill level. Signups are closed but you can still sign up as a substitute or caster.

Typically by this point in time, we've already seen a couple crappy leaked images. I know we already saw the boxes, but I'm actually pretty surprised we haven't seen any leaked skins. Props to Blizz for keeping things on lock this time around. The hype is real.

You can, however, win 2 Arcade games today to get a head start on the potential event that starts tomorrow. That way, once the event starts, you'll get your first event loot box after winning just 1 more Arcade game.

Side note: Regular loot boxes do not turn into event loot boxes, and vice versa. For example, if you earn 5 loot boxes during a non-event period and wait until an event starts to open the boxes, the contents will still be from regular loot boxes. In other words, the contents of loot boxes are generated when the loot boxes first appear, not when the loot boxes are opened.

Everyone is bummed about the anniversary event (probably) not starting tomorrow, and I am too, but we have to realize that if the Xbox store leak never happened (which is probably what Blizzard was planning) we wouldn't have built up all this hype and be disappointed. Blizzard has a plan for the Anniversary and we have to be patient for it. Don't get pissed at them because someone at Microsoft messed up and caused early hype.

Edit: Go ahead and downvote you salty dogs. I'm laying some truth on this subreddit! Haha
