| Riot Support is the best player support team I've ever come across Posted: 04 May 2017 10:25 AM PDT Way back in October 2015, I tweeted to Riot Support and asked if they'd like to tell a story with me. They happily obliged, tweeting me the first part of a thread that went on for almost nine months and over a hundred and fifty tweets. I'm looking for the thread in my twitter and I'll update this post when I find it. Yesterday, I got a package in the mail. For those of you too lazy to click on the link, it contains a photo album with several pages of hand drawn comics depicting the story we told! They also included some handwritten notes from the Rioters involved (1200 Guns, Longwalk, and Porridge) as well as some of the sketch/storyboard process they used to draw the comic! I've been having a really stressful and shitty few weeks and this really made my day a lot brighter. Huge shoutout and thank you to 1200 Guns, Longwalk, and Porridge for really going above and beyond! EDIT: I found the original tweet! The thread is kind of out of order but you can still sorta follow the story! EDIT 2: I know a lot of you have negative experiences for whatever reason, but I'm just sharing my personal experience and I thought the Rioters involved deserved a shoutout. I haven't really had any experience with Blizzard or Origin player support either, I'm just calling out Riot for doing something they really didn't have to and making my week a lot better. EDIT 3: Guys, guys, I get it, y'all are a bunch of Blizzard fanboys. Go make posts in those subs about how they wrote a short story with you and made you a hand-drawn comic book. | Posted: 04 May 2017 05:20 AM PDT Please ask to swap to a different role every time if you get a role you know you're lackluster on. Just today I've had three different people who have complained heavily about their role in game and when I questioned if they had asked to swap roles in champ select, they all said no. Don't be that support main who goes 0/5 and says "god I fucking hate adc" without even asking to swap. Sincerely, A plat 1 who's going to Lowe's to buy some rope. [link] [comments] | ||

| Kindlegem + Spectre's Cowl = 450 Health but Spirit Visage is 425 health??? Posted: 03 May 2017 08:14 PM PDT So yeah the math wasn't done and you lose 25 health for upgrading your components. Please fix ! [link] [comments] | ||

| Thorough explanation of a tip that helped me climb from P5 to D2 in 2 months Posted: 04 May 2017 07:02 AM PDT I was stuck in low plat for two years before actually assimilating the content of this post, so I highly recommend reading it if you aim to climb, even if you think you've already heard it all before. When someone asks a high elo player how to climb, the usual response is "play to improve". People think of it as a classic Korean advice; "get good and you'll climb, hehe easy to say when you are already good at the game -.-" But the thing people don't understand is that when and if you play truly to improve, winning becomes somewhat irrelevant. Winning is a big picture that consists of little things you have to do correctly. The required amount of these things naturally increases along your elo. Let me give you an example of where most people go wrong and get in "elohell": Player Y is ranked G5. He has a good mindset in his first game of the day. Y wins his lane, roams and gets kills, destroys turrets - but loses because of his team plays baron fight poorly. Y tilts and goes to next game, losing his lane this time, and thus the game. And the cycle continues. On average Y plays on low gold level. The point where countless amount of players go wrong is tilting because of their teammates' poor performance. Y played the first game personally on mid plat level, but because of tilting, the next game on low gold level. His focus shifted from his personal performance to his team's performance. If Y had played to improve, he would have thought of the mistakes he made in the first game, and tried doing those things better in the next game. Because it is the only thing he can control. He can't make his teammates perform on Challenger level no matter how much he educates them via chat. So your teammates are almost completely irrelevant. Instead of telling them what to do, adjust to the situation and think of new ways that help you win the game. I cannot emphasize the importance of this enough. Their mistakes are just missed opportunities, so you have to find new ones. This mindset is the main difference between low and high elo players. If you play to win, to gain elo, you become afraid of losing. And you tilt more easily, maybe even harass and blame your teammates. Your personal performance will be inconsistent. If you play to improve, you can tilt only if your personal performance was bad. The level of your gameplay won't drop because of bad teammates throwing a single game. If you keep performing on a high level individually, you will climb quickly even if you lose a game here and there because of your team. So, step 1: assimilate you don't have a single rational reason to tilt because of a bad team. Step 2: Admit your weaknesses and improve on those areas. Recognize your mistakes and avoid them in the future. TL;DR tilting because of teammates causes inconsistency in your individual performance, and that keeps you stuck in low elo. Consistently high and improving personal performance gets you to high elo quickly if you already possess the required game knowledge. (I know I still have a shit ton to learn, but I consider high diamond quite high elo) [link] [comments] | ||

| Bjerg pointing out a big flaw with updates before MSI Posted: 04 May 2017 05:24 AM PDT https://twitter.com/Bjergsen/status/859953097090768897 I think this really sucks for the pros who want to practice in soloq as well, instead of just scrims. With how huge mid season updates are, they really can't practice a lot of MSI meta because of the changes. Why Riot just can't wait with the update after the MSI ? [link] [comments] | ||

| PSA: Twitch W - Venom Cask is currently bugged and doesn't apply poison on the first tick. Posted: 04 May 2017 01:52 AM PDT This is quite significant in early laning phase where you don't have the attack speed to apply it fast, but jungle Twitch is even worse, since you can't kill the small raptors with a single AA, W and E anymore. | League of Legends name availability checker (USA is free on NA) Posted: 04 May 2017 07:41 AM PDT EDIT: Currently broken! Very sorry! :( Thanks for the overwhelming and unexpected support! :D As of writing this USA is free to take on NA for name changes. http://i.imgur.com/6HHykuk.png I've created a League of Legends name checker and looking for some initial feedback. It currently only has basic functionality but before going further I'd like to know what other things people would be looking for out of a website like this. For example what other lists would you be interested in? Is there anything I could improve on design wise? How are the response times? Any first impressions, feedback or suggestions are welcome. :) EDIT Suggestions: User submitted lists, simultaneously search all regions for a name Bugs: Levels 1-6 should all have 6 month immunity.
