So I just had the cops visiting my home...

As the title reads. At aproximately 11:00 this morning the cops rang my doorbell asking if they could come in for a chat… I was kind of flabbergasted as I had no clue what they were doing here and why they wanted a chat. Below you can find the conversation that took place after:

Cops: Good day sir, may we come in?

Me: Sure..

Cops: Do you have any idea why we're here?

Me: No..?

Cops: We have received a message from an Irish gaming company telling us you have suicidal tendencies/you are suicidal. This is why we are here, to check up on you. Is it correct that you play video games? Do you happen to talk to other people when playing said video games?

Me: Uh I have to say I'm a bit overwhelmed. Yeah I do play video games, but no I certainly do not have suicidal tendencies and most definitely haven't discussed anything of the sort with strangers online… I honestly have no idea how this happened and why this company reported me to the police…

Cops: Well we're glad to hear it was false alarm. Do you mind if we note down your phone number? And perhaps the number of one of your close relatives?

Me: Not at all.

Cops: Thank you for cooperating and have a nice day.

Since LoL is about the only game I play on a regular basis and features active chat (both in-game and in-client (friends chat etc) and also happens to be the only game I created an account for that features all my personal data I figured it had to be Riot Games that contacted the dutch police. So I decided to check out Riot Games HQ Europe (since I live in The Netherlands) and voila… HQ Riot Games resides in Dublin so I'm fairly sure it must have been Riot that contaced the police.

So my question is as follows: When does Riot Games contact the police, and what parameters have to be met for this process to be initiated? Also has anyone ever experienced and/or heard of something like this before? I checked my email but haven't received any notification related to this. Hence why I decided to post here looking for some answers...

Edit: Ok so this blew up and I didn't expect it would and/or was expecting people to respond negatively/not believe me so I created a new account for the occasion... Now I wish I had just posted it on my main for legitimacy reasons. Anyway here goes; my main account is /u/xavieros. I'll use that account to provide some more context. Not to fish for karma, but to try (as far as I'm at least able to) provide some form of legitimacy to this post.

Edit 2: Some context: I'm a 31 y/o male from The Netherlands who's in good condition (main acc /u/xavieros). I consider myself healthy and generally happy. However like most people I can sometimes (rarely) get a bit carried away during intense games and I may or may not have said something along the lines of 'ow god please kill me' or 'I wanna kill myself' during one of the many league games I've played in the past. Without cause of course. I suspect some other player or a riot chat filter/alghoritm picked up on this and Riot Games Europe HQ (located in Dublin, Ireland.) contacted the dutch police to check up on me. So far I haven't had any emails or other form of contact other than the local police. If anything changes ill update/edit the main post. Sorry for not posting this on my main account to begin with. I should have had a little more faith in this community and I'm glad you guys proved me wrong.

Edit 3: /u/sicariusD provided some insights! Thanks! The past couple of years I've been on medication to treat the (sometimes quite severe) chronic back pains resulting from an L5-S1 herniated disc (lower back). I suspect I may have mentioned this somewhere along the lines in private/group chat before or during a game as it could sometimes affect my ingame performance (drousy / lack of focus). This in combination with the very rare/occasional 'I wanna kms' / 'pls kill me' remarks that were totally without cause (i'm really not suicidal) may have escalated the reports / flagged me for Riot to proceed and report it to the police.

Edit 4: Some redditors mentioned that in some countries this can be a common practice of frauds/criminals where criminials pretending to be cops try to access your home under false pretences and scout for valuables and ask for your phonenumber to check your presence at a later time and break in so it's always a good idea to ask for identification, something I forgot as I was kind of overwhelmed. So I actually called the dutch police just now (0900-8844) to confirm their visit and this was indeed confirmed by the person answering my call. The 2 cops registered their visit/our conversation as a report('mutatie in het systeem' in dutch /mutation) in the system. So it was definitely legitimate!

Edit 5: Some of you pretend like I invited the devil into my home by allowing the cops in. Let me just say that dutch cops/police are generally good people that are just trying to help. Since I had nothing to hide I really didn't have a reason not to have a chat and/or invite them into my house.

Hi guys, NEACE here.

Currently the .rofl based replay system is a major step in the right direction for the future of LoL, in that it gives players a means to quickly access replays and view them locally. It is great that we've started building out the infrastructure however there is one thing that would really take it to the next level and that is the ability to quickly SHARE those replays with others:

^ This is the match history screen. When you go to share a replay all you can really share is the pictures & text--- but, there is no real easy way to share .rofl files. I've even taken the liberty of explaining a workaround earlier in the season but it is still far from optimal. What we really need is the capability to allow users to SHARE their games, because what good is it really to just have the files locally? Generating hype and discussion about one's replays is a big part of what makes LoL fun. And with every patch players have to do my janky workaround to use their files, EVERYTIME.

LoL Esports is growing across the world, so allowing coaches & players the means to actually share their replays in an intuitive manner is important. It would also really get value out of the work that the team did in rolling out the new replay system in the first place. AND, with the new client finally being used across all systems I think now is the time to start campaigning for something like this.

The only problem that I can see here is that replays range anywhere from 1-10mb? But even then, helping to facilitate sending the files internally through the client might be a solution worth exploring.

I think that we can all agree that it would be nice to be able to share our files from the client, in a one stop as opposed to messing around with op.gg or having to do "duct tape" type solutions in a game that we've been playing for years. Nearly every other competing title has had these proposed capabilities since LoL's beta days.

The benefit to Riot would be that more casual players would be inclined to actually get out, talk about and distribute their gameplay to one another. This is only positive for everyone in LoL-- as the players, coaches and RIOT all win here.

TL/DR: Currently the replay system only truly services the individual. LoL is a team game! Designating resources to allow users to share .ROFL files from inside the client or even through the match history page would really help newer players get into Esports more readily and maximize all the time it took to prop up this replay system.

- .rofl sharing
- .rofl 'highlights' (for perfect quality in-engine highlights)
- Manually set recorded highlight bitrate ('high' is not high at all)
- Allow longer highlights (I think it currently caps at like 15 seconds)
- and then, which might take the most work but would be amazing:
- .rofl 'group viewing' (server-based .rofl viewing with one person controlling)

edit3: still no rito response :( -- hope we can get some feedback on this possibly? that cactoguy is normally pretty good at this stuff so hopefully he chimes in!
