| This reduced map pool is really annoying Posted: 01 May 2017 10:58 AM PDT I know its to lure people in etc and give people are better idea of the games mechanics (I guess) but at the same time, why is this in ranked too? new people arent there? its just frustrating and making the game a bit more stale. | Can we get an "Abathur was here" spray? Posted: 01 May 2017 11:50 AM PDT I seriously need this. The trolling potential when combined with Locust Nest would make me so happy! [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 01 May 2017 04:56 AM PDT Heard about it quite time ago, and just seen it at /r/hearthstone that this is going live today. Do you think that we will get an information about HotS lootboxes? | For new players: Here is what you should do after you win a teamfight. Posted: 01 May 2017 09:07 AM PDT Welcome new Heroes, I think one of the biggest things that can really get you ahead of the game in learning Heroes of the Storm is learning what to do AFTER you win a teamfight. I have seen so many people win a teamfight, wipe out an enemy team, and squander it all by making a bad decision and giving the enemy team time to come back. So here is the priority list! Go down this list, until you find something that is viable to do.
Follow this general guidelines, and while they're not perfectly applicable for every situation, this is a generally good outline of what you should be thinking after you wipe an enemy team. Edit: Press T first of all [link] [comments]
| I bet you and I would be friends. Posted: 01 May 2017 02:12 PM PDT Hey, I'm your Rehgar from the last game. We lost pretty bad. They had a lot of CC, and we had none, and our positioning was definitely bad. They got way more pick offs than the should have. Our Greymane was a bot from the start anyway, so we didn't stand much of a chance anyway. I bet if you I met you today, we would be friends. If you lived down the street from me, we would hang out. Why wouldn't we? We like the same stuff. We spend hours every day playing the same game. We read the same websites. We like the same things. Imagine I moved in next door. If you got a new neighbor who liked the same stuff you do, you'd be psyched. I know I would be. Someone who lives next door plays Heroes of the Storm? Who reads Reddit? I bet we like a ton of the same things. We would talk about the same stuff. We'd have the same group of friends, we'd totally play together. I got caught out a few times more than I should have, I won't lie to you. If I lived next door, and we had met, and talked about the same stuff, and read the same websites, and played the exact same game, and I lost us a game. Would you hate me? Would you call me a piece of shit? Dumbass? Garbage? No, you'd say, "Forget it man, bad games happen. Sometimes you lose a game. We'll get better. We'll win again." So why is it any different? Why do we have to be neighbors to be friends? The only reason you and I aren't friends is because we haven't met. Even if we weren't neighbors, if this was our first game together, and you had the best game of your life, we would be friends. You played Malf, and your roots were works of art. Your heals would make Jun nod in approval. You carved a swath to the core through piles of dead enemies. We ended the game after a monstrous Twilight Dream, outright killing their Lucio and ETC, and winning us the most beautiful Malf game anyone has ever seen. I would want to be your friend. I'd tell you great job. I'd upvote you on the MVP screen. I'd see if you wanted to play again. We'd group up. The next game you play Chromie, and you seem like you can actually see the future. Everything's hitting, and we win 28-0, an easy, crushing victory, mostly because of you. We would be stoked. The next game is the worst game of your life. You play Zeratul. They went double mage, we all thought it'd be a good idea. You're not great with him, but you aren't bad. They see your shimmer every time, and KT stacks his Convection super early, and you get picked off by Jaina twice, and it's terrible. You know you lost because of you, because you had the worst game of your life. I wouldn't call you a piece of shit. You had a bad game, but I've seen you have your best games. Sometimes you have a bad game, or a bad draft, or a bad bit of matchmaking, but we know there'll be another game. So why would you call someone an asshole when they're having the worst game they've ever played? If you win 60% of your games, you fuck up in 2 out of 5. That means the only reason we're not friends is because you missed 3 Void Prisons and died more than a regular Leoric in 1 out of 2 average losses in 5, and I wasn't in your Chromie game before, or your Malf masterpiece before that. Every bad game is a person making a mistake. If we were friends, we'd forgive each other. The only reason we're not friends is because I wasn't perfect for 17 minutes on Infernal Shrines, and we haven't met each other. If we met tomorrow, we would be friends. We'd say forget about the losses. Those are the times you were human. Don't feel bad over a game that's supposed to be for fun. Everyone loses, and winning isn't that different from losing anyway. You end up playing the same maps, with the same heroes, with the same people, who like the same game. When we play with our friends, they're gonna feed sometimes. Maybe they don't have the best map awareness, or they're trying out a new hero, or they just aren't very good. We forgive, we forget. The only reason I have friends in HotS is because we caught each other during a good game. Guys I've now played hundreds of game with now. We're not that great, and we lose sometimes, but we still have fun. If I had met some of my friends one game later, we never would have talked. If I had queued into a game where Paco tried to play something other than support, or joob had poor map awareness and got ganked too much, or Coffee dove into towers to try to kill Abathur and died(twice), I would have never joined their party, and wouldn't be playing with them a year later. The only reason you're not in my group is because we haven't met. If I moved into your neighborhood, or played the game of my life on Dehaka, or you had the best Sonya game in your life, we would be joking in Discord right now. Forget the losses, remember the victory, and let each other be human. We're all just people, and all we need to become friends is forgiveness. Forgive the mistakes, not just your friends but your own. Don't beat yourself up for losing, or playing badly, or drafting wrong. Wins and losses don't matter, only that you had fun. In a few years you won't play this game, and you won't remember the losses. You'll remember your friends. You'll remember adding new rules to AI games to make them more fun, like only use nukes on camps on Warhead Junction, and no turn ins on Blackhearts. You'll remember playing your second team league, and stupid matchmaking put you against Werbenjager, and he dropped the Vikings all over your ass, and you and your friends laughed all the way to defeat. You'll remember the good times, the friendships. 50% of people in any HotS game are going to lose. It's going to happen to everyone, a lot. All we need to do is agree to forgive and move on, and help each other. We work together to get better, we give advice, we accept criticism. We don't measure success in wins or losses, but in improvement, and teamwork, and the fun we had playing. If we treat everyone like we're friends, then eventually, we will be. [link] [comments] | ||
| Introducing GAZDANQ - buy and sell stocks in Heroes (for fake currency ofc) Posted: 01 May 2017 11:05 AM PDT I've been trying to learn coding for the last couple of months now, and came up with /r/SCDANQ for /r/Starcraft, which has a bot that lets users trade stocks in progamers. The stocks go up and down in based on winrate, and if loads of people buy that stock, they go up in value as well. Anyway, now I have converted the bot to /r/HeroesEconomy/, but instead of trading stocks in progamers, you can trade stocks in Heroes, and their value is decided by their winrate. And instead of the Adjutant bot, we have Gazlowe! And of course, you trade in gold doubloons. Gazlowe hasn't told me where he gets them, but they are absolutely not being stolen from Blackheart while he's sleeping. They do smell like rum though. Quick rundown of how it works:
GAZDANQ is currently still in beta-mode, so I need your weaponized OCD to find all the bugs. I know you guys are good at that. In the meanwhile, I've made it penalty free to declare bankruptcy. For more info on how it works, there's a write-up here. Edit: Oh God please stop trading in the FAQ Thread lol Edit 2: Was a terrible idea to make this post in the evening, it's getting late and I gotta go to bed. Things seem to be working as they should, but I'm getting worried the bot is gonna get caught in a spamfilter or something, didn't expect this many people to try it out. (Thanks though!) Edit 3: Someone broke the bot, but it fixed itself. I have no idea how it did that. Who the hell went all in on Cho'gall? Price is through the roof now! [link] [comments]

| r/heroesofthestorm has surpassed r/diablo in subscriber count Posted: 01 May 2017 10:45 AM PDT I've been keepimg an eye on subs for a while now. Might not be impressive to some, but it seems like a notable milestone. The growth of this sub has seen a big uptick this year, and seems to still be carrying momentum from the 2.0 launch. | Why doesn't the HotS Symbol exist as a mount yet? Posted: 01 May 2017 09:36 AM PDT You'd think that would be the perfect companion piece to 2.0, a rotating HotS logo mount. We got Coins, Hearthstone Cards and soon the Overwatch Logo but no HotS Logo? Edit - Could make one of the variants Warcraft themed with the segments being Kalimdor, Northrend, the Eastern Kingdoms and Pandaria rotating around the Maelstrom. [link] [comments] | ||
| Anybody know why they removed so much dialog in Heroes 2.0? Posted: 01 May 2017 06:54 PM PDT HoTS matches used to start with a lot of dialog; banter between the different characters, the announcer welcoming you to the map, a countdown, and then the announcer telling you the match had started. For some reason, almost all of this was removed from Heroes 2.0? I've included a video so you can hear what I mean. Anybody else notice this? Any idea why it was changed? I really enjoyed the banter between characters, and the announcers added a lot of flavor to the game. Is Blizzard phasing them out intentionally or is this just a glitch? [link] [comments] | ||

| Punishment for Overwatch players ruining match quality for Nexus Challenge credit Posted: 01 May 2017 10:34 AM PDT So the Nexus Challenge 2.0 event is a huge success in many respects and I for one am glad that crossover events like this bring in swaths of new players to play the game. However... Many, and I do mean many, of the players coming over from Overwatch for their skins and cosmetics have no interest in this game, and have no intentions of trying to play at all. They will afk, feed intentionally, and ruin match quality for a huge number of new players joining the game who are genuinely interested in the game. This will likely cause many newbies to inevitably quit the game because they will get the impression that every match will be like this and they are wasting their time. With the event REQUIRING quickmatch and other PVP only modes this week, will there be increased penalties for players who are reported for intentional feeding for their Overwatch content? Perhaps silences or bans following them back over to Overwatch? Looking for some discussion in this topic because while I would like to give people the benefit of the doubt, I can't see next week being a healthy or enjoyable experience for anyone. | StarCraft Lore as fast as possible (Spoilers obviously) Posted: 01 May 2017 03:23 AM PDT Inspired by the Diablo Lore as fast as possible post, in an attempt to go through StarCraft/BW/WoL/HotS/LotV as quickly as possible (SPOILERS ALSO): 3 races: Protoss, Terran, Zerg. Protoss being 'first born' tall ass aliens bound together by the Khala, Terran being standard humans and Zerg being ravenous bug-like creatures that come in vast numbers. StarCraftCONSTANT CONSISTENT SPACE WAR in the Koprulu Sector. Terrans trying to expand their territory, Zerg trying to destroy all life and take over the Universe and Protoss trying to destroy all Zerg and enemies. Jimmy Raynor falls in love with Sarah Kerrigan but she gets betrayed by Mengsk, Kerrigan gets captured by the Zerg, Overmind (leader of the Zerg) turns Kerrigan into an Infested Terran and Tassadar with the help of Zeratul (a Dark Templar - they are not bound by the Khala) and Raynor destroy the Overmind (by crashing his Carrier into it - RIP Tassadar). Brood WarProtoss evacuate to Zeratul's Dark Templar homeworld of Shakurus, Artanis helps him cleanse the planet of Zerg, Jimmy fights Mengsk, the UED led by a guy called Stukov tries to figure out the shitstorm that is the Koprulu Sector (gets killed by Duran - RIP Stukov), Lt Morales helps set up a new Overmind, Kerrigan secures control over the Swarm by killing some Cerebrates and pisses off Jimmy by killing his best Protoss buddy Fenix (RIP Fenix) and then destroys the 2nd Overmind that Morales helped set up. Zeratul comes across Protoss and Zerg abomination experiments. Wings of LibertyTerran Story. Jimmy fights Mengsk's Dominion and exposes him for being an asshole on Tarsonis (where Kerrigan was taken by the Zerg). Along the way, Jimmy helps out Nova or acts against her (depending on your decision). At some point BanHammer was probably with his army as a Mercenary Crucio Tank operator. Zeratul shows up and tells Jimmy to save Kerrigan or else the Hybrids (Protoss/Zerg abominations) will take over the universe, so Jimmy turns Kerrigan back into a human. Turns out Tychus made a deal with Mengsk to kill Kerrigan for his freedom so Jimmy shoots him first (RIP Tychus). Heart of the SwarmZerg Story. Kerrigan seeks revenge on Mengsk after Nova captured Jimmy and Mengsk had him executed (RIP Jimmy). Kerrigan teams up with Abathur (it turns out that Abathur was the one who changed Kerrigan in the first place under the directive of the Overmind - thanks u/MilesCW) and the folks at the Leviathan and consolidate the Swarm by defeating Zagara (who joins them), Kerrigan becoming "Primal" Kerrigan leading to Dehaka joining her (and defeating some super Ancient old-school Zerg who teaches them about 'Amon'), coming across Stukov completely infested (so... not RIP Stukov) and defeating Narud (Duran) and some Hybrid then rescuing an apparently still alive Jimmy (so... Not RIP Jimmy) and together destroy the Dominion (RIP Mengsk). Legacy of the Void(I think this is the one with the largest lore dump) Protoss Story. Zeratul fights Tal'Darim Protoss (evil Protoss) and learns from Tassadar that the thing that Jimmy used to turn Kerrigan back into a human can be used to defeat Amon. ARTANIS RE-INVADES AIUR! Starts off with Akhundelar - the Tip of the Spear feat. Probius, who warps in the Pylon that allows everyone else to warp in and attack. Zeratul finds out that the Khala (and Artanis) has been corrupted by Amon and fights Arty, successfully severing his nerve cords and his connection to the Khala thus un-corrupting him, but dying in the process (RIP Zeratul, I actually shed a tear during that). At some point DAElaam Artanis and whatever uncorrupted Protoss are left come across Alarak, first Ascendant of the Tal'Darim who gets them to help him get promoted to Highlord of the Tal'Darim after finding out the Cake is a Lie and Amon's promise to them was bullshit. At some point Artanis comes across Kerrigan in a temple in a part of space that's essentially bordering the Void. They learn about the history of the universe - the Gods (Xel'Naga) created 2 distinct races in their image: Protoss, Purity of Form, able to house immense Psionic power, and Zerg, Purity of Essence, capable of great change. The point of all this was to merge Purity of Form with Purity of Essence to create more Xel'Naga because they were dying out. Together with a giant bunch of other Protoss, Artanis, Alarak and probably Probius (unless Probius was corrupted by Amon??) return to Aiur and use the Keystone to banish Amon back into the Void, all while getting all Protoss to sever their nerve cords. THEN Kerrigan, Artanis and Jimmy decide to go Into the Void and finish off Amon for good. They come across Narud (now in Xel'Naga form). Stukov kills him (RIP Duran/Narud). Then Artanis comes across Tassadar but it turns out that this form of Tassadar isn't actually the real Tassadar from StarCraft I and that it's just something used by a Xel'Naga called Ouros to inspire confidence in Zeratul and Artanis. Kerrigan merges with Ouros' essence and becomes Super Sayan God Mode Fire Chicken Kerrigan and together with Artanis and Jimmy they destroy Amon (RIP Amon). 2 YEARS LATER and there's peace in the Koprulu Sector. Mengsk's less-of-a-dick son leads the new Dominion with Artanis' Daelaam as allies. Alarak's Tal'Darim go off and find their own place. When Kerrigan became God-Tier, Zagara gets promoted and becomes the new OverQueen of the Swarm, and things start mysteriously growing again on planets once too rekt by Protoss purification. Jimmy eventually (supposedly) comes across a normal human form Sarah Kerrigan and is never heard from again (RIP Jimmy? RIP Sarah Kerrigan? Nobody knows...). I tried to go as fast as possible but I suspect the Legacy of the Void section is still too long... And wee're already ignoring the whole Shakurus shenanigans, the Fenix situation (so not RIP Fenix? But still RIP Fenix 'coz they're kinda different) and a bunch of other things. But anyway - I'm fairly certain this is accurate but if I've made any mistakes feel free to let me know in the comments :D [link] [comments] | ||

| A message to LOL/Dota2 players Posted: 01 May 2017 08:16 AM PDT First of all welcome! While the game is growing and we are receiving a lot of new players from other games or just playing their first moba LOL/Dota players are the ones who have to change their mindsets a little bit. Guys this game is not as toxic as other games (yet). Yesterday I had a game with a LOL player, from the way he moved and how he wasn't paying attention to objectives I asked him if he was new to which he replied insulting I told him I was honestly asking because if that was the case I could tell him what to do to what he apologize and thought I was going to make fun of him or something like that, he said he was just not used to someone being nice. Guys, there are a lot of us who are happy receiving more players and a lot of us just want to help you improve and enjoy the game. Someone can say "hey mind your own business, they are not asking for help" well yeah, I could do that or I could help a teammate/fellow hots player to enjoy the game more and of course by helping a teammate there are more chances to win the match. Even when a player has experience in other games HOTS have more rotations more often, each map have different objectives, the game is team oriented (more than LOL/Dota) so, guys, just ask , there is no problem on saying, hey, what should I do? and remember that your team needs you, while you can carry matches in some way, you can't do it the same way you do it in other games. Again, welcome! and I hope you enjoy the game. [link] [comments] | ||
| This game is actually incredible Posted: 01 May 2017 03:56 PM PDT Wow what a refresher from LoL this game is, the lack of "boring laning" the fresh unique hero mechanics and all round basis of the game being one huge crossover. absolutely incredible. Can't wait to practice a bit more and try my hand at the ranked system. Ragnaros is a favourite for me at the moment Also what does destroying a wall do? [link] [comments] | ||
| Hanamura feels like a Brawl imo... Posted: 30 Apr 2017 10:20 PM PDT There is literally no time to do anything besides fight for the most part. You're either fighting on your payload or fighting on their payload. I feel like I'm burdening my team if I break away to push a lane or do a camp. This is how I feel, not sure If I share my feelings with others... but this is probably their first map that they've released that I've not liked at first. [link] [comments] | ||

| Warcraft Lore as fast as possible, which isn't very fast (Part One: Before the First War) Posted: 01 May 2017 01:37 PM PDT Inspired by Diablo Lore. I tried to cut out as much as possible, but there is a lot that is central to the story of Warcraft. The next part should move faster. The Titans are god-like dudes who hatch from worlds like they are eggs. They are constantly fighting against the evil Void Lords. One of the Titans, named Sargeras, is fighting against the demons (manifested from Chaos and the Twisting Nether) and the void lords at the same time. He imprisons them, and continues defending the universe. However, as he goes around, he sees that the Void Lords are trying to corrupt sleeping Titans. Despite all of his efforts, he cannot stop them. He begins, in an effort to stop the corruption, to just kill off the sleeping Titans instead. He uses the demons he imprisoned as an army, known as The Burning Legion. The other Titans try to stop him, but are killed instead. Before they die, they attempt to protect a particularly powerful sleeping Titan, known as Azeroth. They put up enough defenses to hide it from Sargeras. In doing so, the Titans combat the Old Gods (Y'Shaarj, N'Zoth, C'thun, & Yogg'saron), who were sent by the Void Lords to corrupt Azeroth. The Titans rip Y'Shaarj out of Azeroth and azmodunk him into space. Doing so leaves a huge tear in Azeroth, out of which the sleeping Titan's chaotic life force is escaping. They seal it up and turn it into the Well of Eternity, a well of immense power that anyone could draw out of. The Titans also banish Ragnaros and other Elemental Lords to the elemental plane. After destroying the Titans, Sargeras continues destroying worlds. He later recruits the Eredar to be the commanders of the Burning Legion. Some of the Eredar refuse his control, and escape in a massive spaceship. They call themselves the Draenei, and crash land on Draenor, the Orc homeworld. Back on Azeroth, a group of trolls that moved too close to the Well of Eternity began using the magic flowing out of it have evolved into the Night Elves. Their use of magic has attracted the attention of Sargeras, who senses Azeroth's power. He wants to The first Night Elf Druid, Malfurion Stormrage, the Priest Tyrande Whisperwind, and the powerful Mage and brother of Malfurion Illidan Stormrage mount a resistance, and with the help of the dragons fight off the demons and close the portal. Illidan spent most of the fight trying to impress Tyrande, but she fell in love with Malfurion instead. Illidan, heartbroken, flips sides at the end of the fight and puts some of the Well of Eternity into vials. Sargeras, impressed by him, gives him the "gift" of burning out his eyes and replacing them with flame-y ones. Realizing the true power of the Burning Legion, Illidan switches sides again. He helps the Night Elves destroy the portal and the Well of Eternity, which "sunders" Azeroth into like eight pieces. Illidan tries to recreate the Well of Eternity with one of the vials. Horrified that he would use the chaotic energy that completely changed Azeroth, the Night Elves seal Illidan in prison. The dragons help to grow a tree out of the new well that grants the Night Elves immortality. Leaving Illidan in prison and Tyrande to lead the Night Elves, Malfurion takes a light 10,000 year nap and still feels tired when he wakes up. The Highborn move far away, banished by their brethren. They eventually settle in Zul'Aman, the former home of the Forest Trolls. They use one of Illidan's vials to create the Sunwell, which gives them more power. Over the 10,000 years, they frequently fight with the native trolls, led by Zul'Jin. With the help of the humans, the newly christened High Elves fight off Zul'Jin and his armies, losing him an eye and an arm in the process. During this time, Sargeras comes up with a new plan to enter Azeroth. Draenor, which doesn't have a Titan inside, still has the Orcs. Proficient Shamans and Warriors, the Orcs make a perfect army - one that he doesn't have to summon from the demonic Twisting Nether. He begins to corrupt them, starting with Ner'Zhul. Pretending to be his deceased wife's spirit, Sargeras convinces Ner'Zhul to get the Orcs to attack the Draenei and practice Warlock magic - the use of the Fel from the Twisting Nether. Ner'Zhul eventually realizes that he has been deceived, but it is too late. Gul'Dan, Ner'Zhul's apprentice, exposes Ner'Zhul's betrayal of the Burning Legion and gets to take over the control of the Orcs. He convinces all of them but Ner'Zhul and a guy named Durotan to drink the blood of the demon Mannoroth, binding them into Sargeras's service. Durotan has a son, named Go'el (aka Thrall), who almost dies in childbirth before Gul'Dan saves him with the fel. On Azeroth, Sargeras uses his influence to corrupt the powerful spellcaster, Medivh. Medivh is a mage elected to defend Azeroth from the influence of the Burning Legion, and is the most powerful being on Azeroth. Through use of Gul'Dan's fel magic and Medivh's mage powers, The Dark Portal is opened between Azeroth and Draenor, and the orcs begin to invade at the behest of the Burning Legion.
