Can we please have tomes of knowledge removed from BL chests? Posted: 07 May 2017 02:38 PM PDT Seriously, is there anything more annoying than getting these utterly useless items in a BL chest? It's bad enough that they're in every step of every reward track. [link] [comments]

WvW should offer skinless legendary armor as a reward Posted: 07 May 2017 04:25 PM PDT One of the biggest issues with legendary armor was the creation of the skins themselves, they took a very long time, they wanted to eliminate lots of clipping, use combat animations etc. In the AMA we heard that there is no plans to make anymore legendary armor in the future. They also said their priority with WvW was the rewards. They should add a set of legendary armor to WvW rewards which has no skin(or just a basic skin, or lets you choose your first reskin on each piece for free etc.) It shouldn't be grindy in terms of doing things you wouldn't normally do too much just to get the armor, but it should take a long time and progression should be steady with playing WvW normally and competitively. I.e, the skinless legendary armor shouldn't be easy to get so that WvW is flooded with people that just want to pick up an easy set of stat selectable armor and are not interested in getting involved properly with the gametype, but it shouldn't have silly grind involved that diverts play away from actual WvW goals. Why skinless? Pretty simple, because the chances are we won't see a full set of new legendary armor made specifically for WvW. It is sad, but it's the truth. Skinless armor will only require an implementation method - everything that is needed is already there. I'd love having stat selectable armor as a WvW player and I'm sure many other players would too. Alternatively you could have Triumphant armor as the precursor armor, which takes a fair amount of time to get a full set(6 full reward tracks). Then implement Triumphant Hero's armor as the finished legendary WvW armor set. I'm not sure about other players, but I'm not that bothered about special combat animations etc. and at least this means it will also have a unique skin(personal preference, but I quite like the Triumphant & Hero's armor). Anyway, skinless legendary armor has a great place in WvW, where the stat-selection option is perhaps the most useful. We got a legendary backpiece in a mode that doesn't even use the stats, why can't we have legendary gear for WvW? EDIT: Just want to make it clear; this armor wouldn't be easy to acquire at all. It would be very similar time/cost as the raid gear. It is simply a reward for WvW players with great function for WvW. [link] [comments]

Anyone else here is happy about "this" being out of the game? Posted: 07 May 2017 01:44 AM PDT And what I mean is Omadd's Machine. Thank to whoever thought it was good idea to get rid of it, because it was great idea. This thing was a real Deus Ex Machina. No matter if you think it was written well or badly - it was still way to convenient for the story. How did Scarlet learn about Mordremoth? Omadd's Machine. How did our character learn about the balance of dragon powers? Omadd's Machine. How did our character learn about how Zhaitan's death affected the balance? Omadd's Machine. How did our character learn about the Primordus and Jormag being their opposites and canceling each other (because he/she can't figure it out by just taking a look)? Omadd's Machine. How did Taimi want to trigger conflict between dragons? Omadd's Machine. How did Balthazar stun Primordus? With Omadd's Machine, because it can do that all of sudden. How Balthazar wanted to absorb Primordus' power? With Omadd's Machine of course. How we made both Primordus and Jormag go back into sleep? Of course by exploding Omadd's Machine. Now that I have written all of this I realize how terrible this thing was for the story itself with "oh wait but there is Omadd's Machine, it can for sure solve all problems in story telling". Seriously, it was equivalent of tactical nuke launcher with infinite ammo in fantasy setting. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2017 12:48 AM PDT It all started with one guildie finding out that characters' animation persists through falling. We were bored so we decided to make a small group video, and ended up being hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPfEmdgkzdc (thank god the oakheart essence made it easier to get back up after failing) [link] [comments]
Some Ele leaks (because they came short) Posted: 07 May 2017 03:47 AM PDT So most other elite specs had their stuff leaked, but not Ele because it's kinda still the furthest away. Some old pics which've been posted before: So for the skill bar, Elementalist gets to choose 2 Attunements from the 4. If he wields two weapons, he will have one attunement for main hand, one for off hand. If he wields a two-handed weapon, he keeps the skills of the first attunement. The third skill is always a mixture of the two Attunements, in this case it is Air and Water. Utilities are Mantras. I'm not sure if Arenanet will stick to this, because last I heard they're having some difficulties with the spec. Enjoy. Hope the links don't get taken down. [link] [comments]
Player created content - jumping puzzles Posted: 07 May 2017 02:09 PM PDT Players have already created some great jumping puzzles in their guild halls. We've got the required mechanics (decoration), so let's use them and expand that part a little further:

PSA: New utility recipes found in Draconic Mons are great alternatives for current support classes. Posted: 07 May 2017 03:40 PM PDT With the last Living story update, there were three new utility consumable recipes added. These recipes may technically not be BiS in every circumstance, but very close to it. However, they are extremely cheap to craft based on the foods that compare to it.
The Magnanimous Sharpening Stone will be on par with Bountiful Sharpening Stones at 1500 toughness (utility gives 100 toughness as well). This is not BiS for min/maxed try hard Chronomancers, but serves as a great budget alternative. I would probably recommend this for Chronos that run commanders or even minstrels armor. This utility is about 4-5x cheaper than the bountiful variety and doesn't require expensive or hard to obtain materials to craft. The Magnanimous Tuning Crystal is a great more direct alternative to Furious Tuning Crystal. The Furious Tuning Crystal will again edge it out as BiS since it's slightly more damage focused, However for some of the newer druid builds that focus on Boon duration, the extra concentration may come in handy. This utility was usually taken for the healing power anyway, and it's there in both cases. Again this maybe great for Minstrel Chronos, as additional toughness maybe not be required. What member of Dragon's Watch would you kill off? Posted: 07 May 2017 03:04 AM PDT For me it would be Kasmeer. She has had nothing to do in season 3, and even when she did she teleported out and let the player character and a young Asura take on a God. She has this plot destroying ability of telling if people are deceiving her which would have made all of season 3 invalid story wise. And her death would give Marjory 's (who in my opinion is a much better character that respects the commander) more depth and development. [link] [comments]
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how awesome the charr are? Posted: 06 May 2017 08:44 PM PDT God-killing, gun using, fire-obsessed cat minotaurs. Truly, what more can one wish for? [link] [comments]
Allusions to Mars in Flashpoint [Spoilers] Posted: 07 May 2017 09:21 AM PDT So this might be far-fetched or irrelevant, but I noticed some interesting hints to the planet Mars in the newest episode.

[Possibly spoiler] Did anyone found a use for Loose Rocks node on the new map? Posted: 07 May 2017 12:52 AM PDT Title, basically. In Draconis Mons, near first heart (Tactician Tunelle one), there is a Loose Rock "node" that can be used to create Rock bundle. As far as I know it's the only one on the map, and probably the game, so it's probably safe to assume that it is tied to a secret achievement. I tried throwing it on some random things, but haven't found any particular use. Anyone had more luck? [link] [comments]
Endless Embiggening Tonic VS Growth Tonic - WvW Posted: 07 May 2017 06:29 AM PDT Why is the Endless Embiggening Tonic NOT usable in WvW yet Growth Tonic is which literally has the same effect (minus your backpack showing)? I really don't see the problem regarding this tonic in a WvW scenario other than being an arguably easier target. What gives? [link] [comments]
