Fallout - How would you feel about Ammo Types returning?

How would you feel about Ammo Types returning?

Posted: 06 May 2017 01:58 PM PDT

It was a big part of what made Fallout New Vegas fun, in my opinion. I enjoyed being able to use overcharge shots, or armor piercing or hollow point rounds. That's not even getting into Tiny Tots for Mini Nukes, Hive (or High Velocity) for Missiles, Dragon's Breath for Shotguns.

It was incredibly diverse because it made weapons that you liked more viable in different situations. Thoughts on it returning?

SPOILER ALET (A thought and question now that I have finally completed the main quest.)

Posted: 06 May 2017 01:23 PM PDT

Why does Father not transfer his conscience into a computer to continue the work of the Institute. This technology exist within the Fallout universe. Is the Institute not aware of this technology.

Also what was the Railroads end game? If they were to succeed in stoping the Institute wouldn't the production of synths stop, making them useless and babysitters for remaining synths. Synths would eventually want to expand their race and try to take over the world making the Railroad responsible for the extinction of the human race. IMO the Railroad would be the wrong choice if the player cared at all about the human race.

What do you like to do between quests?

Posted: 06 May 2017 09:21 AM PDT

I love how in these games you can set yourself your own objectives and screw around even outside of a structured quest. Like setting your own little activities.

In New Vegas I liked to go hunting for Fiends around the outskirts of Vegas, sell the loot to the Gun Runners and then go to the Mojave Outpost and get by gear repaired by Major Knight.

In 4 I've had a good time just doing a walking tour of my settlements and seeing what happens on the road, while looking out for my silly secondary aim of checking vendors to get Chef Hats for all my settlers.

I don't know if many people know this about the Hacking mini game

Posted: 06 May 2017 01:38 PM PDT

Sorry for the clickbaity title

In the recent Fallout games (3, NV, and 4) when hacking you can use this bracket tip to make your life easier

e.g. In this column of text...

.]['//;'/(.......)/'' DESPAIR..! ..:/'"{><<..''''<. <..>RUMOUR

The (.......) and <..> could be selected to remove dud words / and or replenish your guess allowance.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere here so I thought I would let the people who don't know this in on it :)

[Minor Spoilers] To whom did you assign the Nuka World parks, and why?

Posted: 06 May 2017 11:56 AM PDT

I liked The Pack best but didnt want to give them more territory that The Operators since I figured that keeping them fairly equal rivals will keep them both in place.

So I gave The Pack the Zoo land and the Wild West land because I figured they're kinda like jungle people and red indians.

I gave the Operators the Cola Factory world because they're business people, and the Space zone because the high tech suited their financial focus.

The Disciples are too stabby for my liking so I gave the Kiddy Kingdom, partly to knock them down a peg but also because I thought their being bloody murderers went well with the kid theme (in a creepy way) and also how the whole park is like a medieval city, so their gruesome ways would fit in that way also.

[FO3/FNV] Horrible performance at all times, even with FPS limiter?

Posted: 06 May 2017 11:28 AM PDT

load order

I can't explain what it is. it's like stutter, but so heavy that it's almost as if my FPS is in the single digits. I can disable my enb and the performance will be the same, which is to say, shit

even if I have my fps capped at 30, and even 20, the problem is still very much apparent

I honestly have no idea what is causing it. for reference I have a GTX 1080 and i7 6700k

Feels like I've hit a brick wall with quests in The Hub (Fallout 1)

Posted: 06 May 2017 05:26 AM PDT

Me, Ian and Dogmeat have been struggling to get through the quests in The Hub. Quests to Kill Decker, Highwater and Lorenzo end up with us getting swamped by 4 or more henchmen.

I decided to use Max Stone as I'm a first time player, got metal armour and using the basic shotgun and some use of the sledgehammer. I guess my main issue is that the best weapons and guns are sold by Jake who's prices are ridiculous. So right now I feel like I can't progress at all.

Do you think it's worth grinding/stealing enough caps to cheese my way into better gear or shall I consider doing somehing else?

Why is contraptions workshop so shoddy regarding NPC arenas?

Posted: 06 May 2017 03:04 PM PDT

NPCs that are assigned to their teams immediately decide to kill each other, as soon as registered. This leads to a Bethesda cop-out of "break their line of sight".

Result: two opposite chambers on either side of the arena. A shoot switch to open them both to attack. Result: they stood in the corridor of either side without egging out, shooting one another.

Suggestion to Bethesda- the beta was emitter makes animals docile. This could be utilised in another form similar to the "quitting time" siren, but all settlers become peaceful until the bell is ring for the match to begin.

Final note- are there any mods to improve the DLC?

My buddy was watching me play fallout 4 and he asked. so if bombs fell and these people are kinda primitive besides the pre war tech and some factions, why dont some raider gangs dont have bow and arrows ? And I couldn't answer did they have them in fallout 1 and 2 ? Or is it just like raiders are to dumb to make a bow I dunno anybody have a answer ?

Distance from the Crater of Atom to vault 111?

Posted: 05 May 2017 10:34 PM PDT

Does anyone know how far the Vault 111 is from the impact site because that could make or break the premise of the survivor surviving?

Funny story about modding Fallout 3...

Posted: 05 May 2017 08:21 PM PDT

I'm using Nexus mod manager and for some reason the mods location moved randomly to Fallout New Vegas>Fallout3>Data and it actually loads the mods in for Fallout 3. I really don't know why, but it works.
