All 5 Gunsmith test weapons can be completed in PvE this week

Posted: 03 May 2017 02:21 AM PDT

All 5 Gunsmith test weapons can be completed in PvE this week (with suggested story mission checkpoints):

  • double kills with hand cannon (Siege of the Warmind/A Stranger's Call)

  • kill Hive with pulse rifle (Siege of the Warmind)

  • kill 10 majors with rocket (Fear's Embrace)

  • kill Fallen with autorifle (Silent Fang)

  • kill Vex with hand cannon (A Stranger's Call)

Please be mindful of your current rep with the Gunsmith. With the Nightfall buff and 5 test weapons, you may actually rank up 2 ranks. If you don't fetch your reward package, you will lose the first package.

5 test weapons with NF buff = 3125 rep

You need 2000 rep to rank up. If you are already close to half way to ranking up, keep an eye on your rep and rank while you do the testing.

(Tower Thought) Y3 PvP is Y1 PvE

Posted: 03 May 2017 08:58 AM PDT

In Year 1, many guardians equipped the Icebreaker in PvE and hid, taking pot shots while they regenerated ammo since most other weapons weren't optimal.

In Year 3, many guardians equip an Icebreaker in PvP and hide, taking pot shots while they regenerate ammo since most other weapons aren't optimal.

Armsday Rolls, week 87 [2017-05-03]

Posted: 03 May 2017 04:30 AM PDT

Welcome to Armsday, week 87. This post is a compilation of all the weapon rolls. I want to hear what you think are the best choices, post in the comments. Here's a list of the available rolls this week. If you ordered ones I didn't please post the rolls in the comments and I'll add them.

Useful Links:

New to Armsday?

For those new to Armsday, here's the basics: Each week you can order a number of weapons from the gunsmith, equal to your gunsmith rank, up to a max of 3. You can rank up by doing the weekly weapon tests. On the Wednesday following your order, you get to choose from a number of rolls (combinations of perks) on each of the weapons you ordered. Again, this number is equal to your gunsmith rank, up to a max of 3 possible choices. If you choose not to turn in your weapon order for a roll, you can hold onto the order and you will get access to 3 new rolls every week (until you claim the weapon). The orders never expire but do take up inventory space, and do count towards your max number of orders. At any given time the max number of orders you can have in your inventory is 3 per character. Below are the rolls available to those who ordered these weapons last week.

Thanks for your continued support for what we do here every week,

The Powerslide Glitch

Posted: 03 May 2017 09:24 AM PDT

Hey guys! Me and my team have discovered a brand new glitching method for your glitching needs. We call it The Powerslide Glitch. Essentially, it's a way to go from 0-100 in an instant.

This is useful for getting through barriers, getting to the other side of the map in a snap, maybe finding that new speedrunning strat...or just having a bit of fun.

What you need:

  • Titan (Death from Above)

  • Memory of Felwinter

That's it.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Get at least 10 ft off the ground.

  2. Equip Memory of Felwinter and exit your menu.

  3. Immediately jump and slam the ground.

Your super will cancel before you hit the ground, and the momentum from your Death from Above will carry you forward.

You can also double tap jump when you hit the ground to be carried upward and outward. (In the video, I jump over the Hellmouth using this glitch).

Anyways guys, hope you use this method and find something for yourselves. Have fun!

If Bungie was going to do away with the armor re-rolling mechanic they should have given us a way to remove ornaments

Posted: 03 May 2017 05:50 AM PDT

In the last two weeks I've been getting armor to drop much more frequently from the 390 raids. I've finally got full VoG armor on all three of my characters. The problem is out of 15 pieces only 3 of them have remotely desirable perks/stats. T12 doesn't make or break anything for me but I'd at least like to be able to get to T4 Int and Disc and have perk more useful for PvE than sidearm ammo. I'm happy to have and use the gear for now, but I don't want to waste an ornament on a piece of gear when I know it's likely getting dismantled at some point and there's no way of getting the ornament back. Considering how many it's going to take to get full ornamented gear for each raid on each character (84 for those counting or 11 straight weeks of doing every challenge available) it seems like the kind of thing we should be able to remove or get back if we dismantle a piece of armor.

[Tower Thought] Icebreaker in Current PvP is Payback for Y1 Icebreaker in PvE

Posted: 03 May 2017 08:23 AM PDT

Bungie has effectively played us like a bunch of saps with a Departed level long-con.

It all started back in Y1, when people would use the Icebreaker to cheese absolutely everything. Oracles, Nightfalls, their way into special ammo in the crucible. Everyone had a good time at Bungie's expense (haha design your levels better, nerds) for this. Was Bungie going to sit back and do nothing about it? No. They would have their revenge. In doing so they took the following steps:

  • Step 1: Remove Icebreaker from year 2 saying that it was broken and ruining their vision of the game

  • Step 2: Have everyone clamor for Icebreaker to return saying "it was their favorite gun", "the only gun that felt exotic to them", yadda yadda yadda. The trap is working.

  • Step 3: Wait a year and a half. Bring the Icebreaker back and listen to the cheers from the community. This is music to their ears because they know the plan. All of the icebreaker PvE cheese spots have been fixed at this point, so there will be no more laughing at Bungie.

  • Step 4: While the Icebreaker is being announced have shotguns/special ammo run rampant in the crucible to the point where everyone demands a nerf to special ammo. Now they have us right where they want us.

  • Step 5: Nerf special ammo into oblivion. Now every time someone dies, or a round of Trials ends, they will not have special. THEY KNOW THE NEXT STEP.

  • Step 6: FLAWLESS VICTORY. Have people use Icebreaker to cheese each other in PvP and complain about that strategy, the same strategy they used to cheese the PvE content of year one.

  • Step 7: Laugh uncontrollably. Payback is theirs.

  • Step 8: Obligatory profit.

Well played, Bungie. Well played indeed.

EDIT: For some reason my post was removed and then freed right after the other guy posted the exact same thing (albeit with way less humor). I'm blaming /u/MisterWoodhouse and will appropriately make him eat an entire bowl of spider webs

Solo King's Fall Raid Statue Entrance (Perfect Run | No Missed Orbs)

Posted: 03 May 2017 06:35 AM PDT

Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZc_usBV6_0

This is a video of my take on the Statue Entrance solo of the King's Fall raid.

This is also a flawless run. All 12 orbs were successfully slammed in order without any resetting during the run.

This run requires TONS of RNG. It's actually unbelievable how much has to go in your favor. Like... don't even get me started haha.

I chose to use Suros Regime because... why not?? lol Someone had suggested it just for fun. I was also using a full-auto Conspiracy Theory and a tripod Dead Orbit rocket launcher.

Hope you enjoy the run!

Much love,

Gladd

Wait how does the memory of Timur work on the Vex

Posted: 03 May 2017 05:46 AM PDT

The Vex is just one big mind right? By making one of the Vex our ally for 30 seconds wouldn't that make the whole mind our ally for 30 seconds? Or would it be like a cancer cell? Maybe the robot body turns against the Vex? Or maybe it just "works".

Like checking raid completions when using LFG sites? I made a thing to let you check people faster without page reloads or new tabs.

Posted: 02 May 2017 06:09 PM PDT

The thing is http://destinyraidstatus.com/

As a long time user of the fantastic destinystatus.com site, I wanted something to reduce the time it took to look someone up and then immediately look someone else up.

With destinyraidstatus, simply type a name in the gamertag box, hit enter, and repeat that process as needed.

There are no ads. The source is on GitHub. You can also run it as a Chrome extension if you're so inclined (but right now you'd need to build it yourself - it's not on the store).

EDIT: I forgot to mention it needs a bit of style love on mobile, but is still functional there. It can look a bit cramped, though.

There also appears to be missing 390 raids; there's probably another hash I should be checking. (I actually think it's not counting the 390s when they're not the featured raid, but this is from blind speculation looking at my user data compared to destinystatus.)

Thanks for checking it out thus far.

EDIT 2: fix incoming for the missing 390 raids. On the weeks where a raid wasn't the featured raid, I wasn't counting it towards the 390. 390 raids are fixed.

Lore: Who Are the Titans?

Lore: Who Are the Titans

Welcome Back Guardians

In today's report we will discuss the most chivalrous of us all, our armor adorned, defenders of our all last bastion, the illustrious and respected Titans. Often when we describe various guardians, we look to divide them into groups, hunters are identifiable as being sneaky or shifty, warlocks can be cold and vague, but how do you properly describe a titan? Certainly visually identifying a titan from a group of guardians isn't all too challenging, you'd just look for the broadest shoulders, perhaps the most impressive armor or a sash of an order that titan chooses to represent. But you don't describe a warlock as being dismissive or cryptic, you couldn't present a hunter as only being interested in glory, so we shouldn't describe a titan by simply their armor, but by their history. And the History of Titans is the foundation of the Last City, for without their hardship the walls wouldn't of been built, the watch towers would of gone unmanned, and when a sacrifice was needed its call would've gone unheard. This is the story of the Titans, our defenders of the light and our protectors of the Last City.

Saint-14

To better define the Titans we need to deeply examine the battles and leaders that emulate a titan's quality traits. Titans are seemingly infused with a strong sense of honor and incorruptible duty, to either protecting the City or to strike out against the alien hordes that may threaten us. One of the most iconic and legendary of all titans, is of course, Saint-14, the exo veteran that lead a crusade against the first fallen House of Devils to threaten the City. Saint-14 would cut a swath through the Fallen House of Devils to reach their kell Solkis, ending his reign of terror and dismantling the Devil's primary source of organization. Saint-14's vendetta versus the Fallen was not misplaced, the House of Devils was responsible for countless civilian and refugee deaths since the times of Rezyl Azzir. But to best explain the Titan's Story we should start with the first Guardian that is perhaps most closely linked to being a titan, or at least influenced the classification definition, we speak of course of Rezyl Azzir.

The Traitorous Precursor

Rezyl came from a time when guardians were not defined by classes, they existed in a semi flux state, learning a wide variety of disciplines to control light or to harness its energy into formulated attacks. They were called Risen, typically due to a guardian's death defeating stunt when revived by a ghost, but more importantly, Rezyl would eventually define what it meant to be a titan. All Titans would owe some of heritage to this individual, regardless of later fall from grace. I've compiled a more in depth report on Rezyl Azzir, and I recommend you read that report for more indepth information, but to summarize; Rezylwould fight in the faction wars, a series of conflicts were humanity was divided under the shadow of the traveler, battling for their ideologies on how to survive this new age. Eventually the faction wars would end, with a semi uneasy peace, and this was due to the arrival of the first Fallen Pirates, seeking to remove humanity from under the traveler and claim the dead god as their own. "Rezyl had been a champion of these Wars. A Leader. Against the Alien Pirates he had been more. If the giant (referring the the Traveler) wasn't a God, then maybe Rezyl was." Rezyl, along with other titans would see to the first walls being built around the city as this was most efficient response to defending the refugees of the last city and the Traveler itself. However, due to Rezyl's turn to darkness and adoption of the name Dredgen Yor, few titans will claim their class is related to such travesty, to a traitor with no aim other than forwarding his legacy. Instead titans choose define themselves by the walls surrounding the City that their predecessors created and in turn would become its most stalwart of defenders.

Six Fronts

One of the first recorded battles of the Last City occurred during the City Age, its name and historical details would forever transform the titans from mountains of muscle, as they were commonly stereotyped, to the city's most capable protectors. That battle was called Six Fronts, a battle in which six enemy positions advanced against four unbreakable titan orders. Six Fronts has some of the richest history that Titans have clinged or attached themselves to and for the rights reasons. The Iron Lords led invincible Patrols, the Firebreak Commanders strove out and reclaimed acres of scorched territory, Saint-14 and the exiled warlock Osiris lead battalions against the Fallen incursions. It was the largest and most coordinated Fallen attack the City had ever faced, and its sovereignty would be tested by weighing the strength of its Titan Orders against the unending Fallen aggressions. The first Defenders, the void discipline of a titan, would make an impressive and perhaps first appearance at Six Fronts, where it was described as simply holding the walls was not enough, the Titan's had to become fortifications in themselves. Later, during the Vanguard expedition to retake the moon, a titan by the name of Wei Ning would embody the definition of a defender, protecting her fireteam and refusing to accept any defeats. The Titans would eventually prevail in the City's first trial, and while they are not the only guardians to participate in this victory, salvation was achieved largely through their sacrifice.

Holborn's Host

While the titans legendary achievement at Six Fronts should never be forgotten or trivialized, it's important to discuss the more notable titans and the influence they've had on the entire class of guardians. Holborns expeditions to Mars, sanctioned by Shaxx and Zavala, to search for information regarding Rasputin is a peculiar case. It is said that Holborn taught his followers the discipline of the striker, these arc based abilities allowed Titans to become offensive juggernauts making them incredibly formidable against hard composite armor the Cabal utilized. The Twelve Pointed star would commemorate all titans who would follow Holborn to mars, calling themselves Holborns Host and the City's Hand on Mars. Holborn's fate is either unknown by the Vanguard or he simply has been forgotten with the passage of time, regardless his impact on Titans has been felt throughout the ages and his legacy of strikers will no doubt continue.

The Sunbreakers

The Sunbreakers however, are a completely different story, one mired in controversy and confusion. Typically Titans are seen as honor bound to protect the City from any danger, whether foreign or domestic, but some titan orders, like the Sunbreakers predate the foundation of city. This titan order has rejoined the City's ranks, but a majority of the sunbreakers have acted as mercenaries, operating under human fiefdoms lead by untamed warlords. Becoming a Sunbreaker and wielding the very fire of Sol is no simple feat, and its something few Titans actually strive to accomplish. Lord Shaxx has stated that becoming a sunbreaker is not a challenge of character but a test of ability to harness the light. "The Forge Breaks the brittle. And It Bends the Weak. But the Strong, the strong walk away steeled and tempered, Unbreakable." The Light harnessed by the Sunbreakers has never been seen inside the Walls, at least until recently, when titans have begun to accept the Sunbreaker Oath and forge a new fate for the timeless order.

Twilight Gap

The final and perhaps greatest memento to all titans is the participation of the legendary Iron Lord Saladin and the now Crucible Handler Lord Shaxx in the greatest battle to test the City, the Battle of Twilight Gap. The Battle has two separate names, but prior to the taken war, it is the first engagement that took place at more than one location across the solar system. First a combined offensive effort of Fallen Houses at the City walls, and secondly, the engagement in the reef against the would be reinforcements the House of Wolves. Initially the City held against the united houses artillery fire, concentrated by batteries of walker units, but the cost was uncountable. Titans, Warlocks and Hunters all fought in the battle of the gap, but the legends that rose that day surrounded Lord Shaxx and the counterattack that broke the Fallen. Shaxx and his trusted companion, the battle frame Arcite-99, would lead guardians and other battleframes in a fierce counterattack that would retake sections of the Wall occupied by the Fallen. Twilight Gap is often regarded a pyrrhic victory for all guardians, including Shaxx, Saladin and Zavala and would push the three to prepare the next generation of guardians so that another Gap may never happen. For Saladin, this meant the formation of the Iron banner tournament, although Technically it's run with administrative assistance from Shaxx. Lord Shaxx in turn would form the crucible, a live fire combat simulation that pit teams of guardians against one another with ghosts ready to resuscitate the dead. Its rumored, but unconfirmed, that the fabled rocket launcher Gjallarhorn, was forged from the armors and light of dead guardians that perished during the gap. Apparently there are only a set few in existence, so obtaining one is equally rewarding for both historical value and for multiplying a fireteams firepower.

Sacrifice, Duty and Honor

But we've omitted so much, What of the Iron Lords? The Guardians like Lady Jolder and Lord Radegast, those who fought in the times before the city had walls, in the wilderness against tyrannical warlords. What of Kabr, the Legionless, Wei Ning, Vell Tarlowe and the missing Titan Orders? What became of Saint-14 and Holborn's host? You see titans are much like the Warlocks and Hunters, they seek to uncover their past, what and who they were. And in the process they define themselves as our protectors, the wall builders and stalwart bulwark against the oncoming storm of Darkness. To the Titans we salute you, your sacrifice at Six Fronts will never be forgotten our trivialized to history, and the glory you attain now you secure for all guardians of all classes.

Walk Tall Guardians.

I finally made it

Posted: 02 May 2017 08:05 PM PDT

After about 6 months I have finally made it to the lowest light level possible in Destiny. This all started shortly after the release of WotM HM. While waiting to find a teammate at Aksis another fireteam member and I decided to try to get as low in light as possible, and we each got to about 200. Since reaching 400 light, ina ddition to collecting ships, shaders, emblems and grimoire, I have been trying to reach as low as possible.

My previous record was 3 light. This was the lowest I was able to achieve as my heavy was 14 light. Since then Xur has been kind enough to begin selling the weapon bundles that come with 3 light exotics. Using this, the no primary glitch (upgrade Eidolon Ally to Necrochasm with another exotic equipped) and the exotic faction class items, today I was finally able to reach Light Level 1.

All my gear is either LL0 or LL3

Our guardians never been powerful enough to meet Gary.

!WARNING! English isn't my native language !WARNING!

Some people are... "impressed" that Gary so easy defeated us. But they just don't understand, that we aren't as strong as they think.

We defeated Atheon only because we had Aegis. Without Aegis we couldn't even pass Templar. Aegis saved us, not our powers or guns. Our guns killed Atheon, but it is not hard to break down metal body.

We killed hive Gods so easy? No. In fact, they are god in terms of Hive, not human terms.

We killed Crota only because we had his Sword. Without Sword we couldn't defeat him.

Oryx. I want to remind you, that we killed Oryx after we weakened him sooo hard for a few times... We destroyed his shrine on the Moon, we killed Crota, we killed Warpriest, we killed Golgoroth, we killed daughters! We killed everyone who were connecting Oryx's worm to his food, and worm started to eat Oryx... technically, we could leave Oryx slowly dying after we killed his Daughters. However, even then we couldn't defeat him without detonating Corrupted Light.

Aksis? Almost. We couldn't destroy his shield without SIVA charges. But his body is mortal and is not hard to break down.

I also want to remind you that only one of our guardians is a main hero of Destiny story, all other guardians, even guardians of your friends or Deej's guardians are not ones who are as good as your guardian. In terms of Story only 5 more guardians who went with you into Raids can be as experienced and strong as you are. Other guardians are simple, not really good fighters, can handle majors but still.

Only your one guardian (+5) killed all strike bosses and completed all Raids. Others - never did. However, even then, your guardian never fight with such gigantic force as Gary's military fleet.

Your guardian is LIT, but isn't enough to stop Gary. It is your guardian's fault that the Vault will be destroyed. Shame on you that you will not stop Him.

Has anyone been able to complete a full set of Age of Triumph armor WITHOUT having to throw money at the screen?

I've opened 3 treasures per week since the update and have found just 1 piece of armor - the warlock helmet. I've gotten a sh*t load of emotes tho.

EDIT TITLE : got a baby had a baby (English isn't my native language)

We are 3 friends playing Destiny as a fireteam since launch, and of of us just had a baby (a little Hunter girl).

As a passionated player, he used to have a Jade Rabbit, proudly displayed at the back of his car, but I decided to do something special for him, and had our beloved ghost a little facelift to fit the occasion.

Translated text reads "LITTLE LIGHT ON BOARD"

New car sticker

EDIT : My Illustrator & PDF file to download (For those who want to have it cut)

Hope you like it!
