| Need help modding my girlfriend into civ for a surprise Posted: 30 Apr 2017 12:03 PM PDT Want to surprise the girlfriend with a civilization where she is queen. Civ VI is the only pc game she plays. Hoping there is a modder I can work with to make it happen. As my experience with with such things is zero. [link] [comments] | ||

| Civilization 2 Cold War Scenario Posted: 30 Apr 2017 01:36 PM PDT I know nobody still plays this, but it might be fun. Basically, it's a scenario for Civilization 2, a surprisingly detailed and fun free game that some of you may have forgotten about. How do I Install it? As mentioned above, go to here to get Civ II MGE, then here to get a Diplomacy Patch (not necessary for playing, but needs to be applied so we can all use the same save). Unzip the archive in the first link, Launch Civ II, exit the program. Then, you want to run the file named Civ2XP64Patcher.exe, provide Administrator Permission, and then click on the ". . ." symbol, whereupon you will double-click the Civ2.exe icon in the folder. Click patch, and it should be able to run properly on your computer. If you'd like, you can play around on the game to familiarize yourself with the mechanics. There are some old strategy guides as well as the 78 page manual online. What's the Scenario? It's a 7-player scenario set (in the beginning) lasting from 1964-1970, where each turn is a month between the USA (Allied with NATO, at War with Pro-East), USSR (including Satellite States & Berlin; Allied With China), Pro-East (North Korea, Burma, Zambia, RoC, Somalia, Egypt, Guinea, Albania, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Mongolia; Allied with USSR & China, at War with USA & NATO), China (Allied with Pro-East), SEATO (Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia/NZ, Pakistan/Bangladesh; Currently at war with India), India (Currently at War with SEATO) and NATO (Western Europe including Italy, not including Berlin, Canada, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Angola, and some cities in Sub-Saharan Africa I could not find on a map from 1965; Allied with US, at War with Pro-East). There are a lot of cities in the game, (29 in CONUS!), and a lot more units, so turns will take a few minutes each. You can get the scenario to play around with it yourself here. How Can I Join? Ideally, we could get 7 participating players here, as the AI is rather Realpolitik-y with its alliances, even with the Diplo Patch. Not to mention, they'll nuke any reasonably large Neutral (barbarian) city at first chance. Six players could work, leaving India alone. Leave a response to this post that you're interested, and I'll respond depending on how popular it gets. We will be doing this in a Play-by-Email format, meaning we send each other the save game every turn, unless someone can figure out how to do an Internet game (in which case, do let me know!) | Posted: 30 Apr 2017 12:03 PM PDT Me and my friends adore Civilization VI. But we are unable to play together because whenever we try there is always a technical issue. Whether it is people unable to join the session, random disconnects and crashes or actual visual bugs the multiplayer is a pain to set up and play. I hope that Firaxis can fix the multiplayer with one of their patches. As people that paid money primarily for a feature that does not work we are severely disappointed. [link] [comments] | ||

| [Civilization 6] Just thought up something nice for the OST Posted: 30 Apr 2017 07:10 PM PDT Was listening to a Gregorian Chant version of Scarborough Fair then I thought, "Huh, this wouldn't be out-of-place as England's Atomic Era theme". That's where it clicked - Wouldn't it be nice if the Atomic Era themes of all civs have their vocals to accompany the music? As of now it's only Russia's theme that has vocals in Civ 6's OST, and I think it would be absolutely beautiful if vocals accompany the last rendition of a civ's theme - a proud, glorious piece reflecting the greatness of the empire you created over the eras. | Summing up the civ in 2-3 minutes Posted: 30 Apr 2017 09:03 AM PDT I have to do a presentation of 8-10 minutes (the other 5-8 minutes will be used to talk about the community, achievements (grammy award of civ IV for example), etc) about something, so I decided to go with civilization since I'm currently addicted to it. However, civ isn't a simple civ by any means. What elements would make up the very basics of any civ game? (Civ 1-6 + the other side games) Also take in account that I'm talking to a lot of game illiterates of course. [link] [comments] | ||

| CIV 5 R.E.D. WW2 Mod Glitches fix? Posted: 30 Apr 2017 05:24 PM PDT I'm playing the WW2 mod and it's great! However, I seem to be encountering two glitches quite often: 1.) When I bomb cities using aircraft the hp goes down until it reaches the point where the hp bar is yellow and on the verge of turning red. I can bomb it 100 times further but the hp refuses to go down further. 2.) when I assault certain cities my units suffer heavy damage while the city only loses 1 hp. For example, I recently attacked a city with a panzer IV and the city only had a population of 3 and 25 defense points which should be easy to attack but instead my panzer tank suffers a -15 hp hit while the city only loses 1 hp. This seems highly unlikely to happen naturally especially because when I attack larger cities that are more heavily defended I lose a fraction of the hp's. Does anyone know a way to fix these bugs? Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||

| The Main issues with this game have not been addressed since launch. Posted: 30 Apr 2017 05:04 PM PDT So yesterday I spent the day playing as Alexander on a huge map on Kind Difficulty. I am now on the cusp of owning the entire starting continent all from when Australia and Norway declared war on me. It is ridiculously easy to win through Domination. There is simply no recourse to attacking and taking cities. The AI does not fight back. they don't even attempt to take cities , let alone capture them. They still never use Aircraft and there is no downside to being a warmonger at all apart from being denounced. Big deal? There is nothing in this game like CIV 5 where you could have embargos put upon you which could really damage your economy or there was a real threat of the AI beating you in domination. Not only that, Cleopatra is busy doing the same on her continent, yet denounces me as a warmonger. It's utterly absurd. They need to do something about this because in my opinion the game is still broken. Firstly, they need to really revise the warmonger penalty system. They also need to introduce several new civs who's main agenda is actually warmongering. bring back Shaka or the Mongols. People who like you if you're conquering. Introducing the UN or the diplomatic victory would also be good. Like I say, there is simply no negative aspect of warmongering other than denouncing. So what? they won't trade with you and you may need more amenities? Just take their cities. They need to critically examine the basic failings of CIV 6. The potential of the game is there, but it simply doesn't work when one third of the game still is broken. [link] [comments] | ||
