We are not prepared to lose custom CSS

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 11:31 AM PDT

As I'm sure some have noticed, /r/procss is currently a trending subreddit, and /r/wow has added a ProCSS link to our sidebar.

A few days ago, Reddit announced that custom CSS for subreddits is to be deprecated and eventually removed. There are a number of reasons given, but they've not persuaded much of the /r/wow team nor the wider moderator community. It's clear that the primary reason is that the amount of people viewing Reddit on mobile devices, either through apps or via the mobile version of the site, is now over 50% and rising. Custom CSS does not and cannot apply for either of these, and often leaves features for those users missing, like flair icons, menus, or banners.

We're told that this functionality will be replaced by cross platform solutions, which is great, but we don't think that anything can replace the scale and flexibility that custom CSS offers us. In effect, Reddit will be lowering the experience of the desktop version so that it meets the experience of mobile, instead of embracing the strengths and weaknesses of each.

Without our custom CSS, I would not be able to say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker].

/r/wow is not prepared to lose custom CSS, and we hope you'll stand with us.

Finally, I'd like to take the opportunity to ask for feedback about our stylesheet. What you like and what you don't like; what changes and improvements can be made. For as long as we still have custom CSS, I'd like ours to be as good as it can be.

What is your favorite WoW mystery?

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 02:29 AM PDT

Before Cataclysm hit, I feel like there were a lot more true mysteries in the game. Cata removed a lot of that, but some remain. One of my favorite things to do used to be watching videos on that sort of thing or reading old threads, there was a giant one on mmo champion.

One of my favorites was the friendly naga zalashji. He patrolled the coast of tanaris. He had no interactions, but would occasionally roar in the direction of the sea. Many people tried all sorts of crazy ideas to interact with him to no avail. People submitted tickets asking what he was for and the answers ranged from the players haven't discovered yet, an old quest that was removed, nothing, something but they aren't allowed to give hints. Anyway, when cata hit he vanished and a cave was named after him, zalashjis den. I don't think to this day anyone truly knows what he was for.

Other favorites were legends of the ashbringer which i suppose have been solved with legion. What is under tirisfal?

So what is yours? Even if it's been solved or lost to revamps.
