Posted: 26 Apr 2017 06:59 AM PDT

Hi I am goldenglue former mid laner for dadslammers, Complexity, Coast, Team 8, Ember, TLA, and now Team Liquid. I am unsure what team I will be on next split but I will be playing in either the NA LCS or NACS. I just arrived back to America after my 5 week long solo bootcamp in Korea and have a little bit of downtime so I figured it would be a good time to do an AMA. I will be streaming a lot the next few weeks so hmu there. Here are my socials if you want to follow me

The old old client used to feature 5 high elo games, will that feature return?

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 02:21 AM PDT

The version prior to the "old" client used to have a window in the lower right corner, that would show different live matches you could spectate.

Screenshot of old old client http://i58.tinypic.com/33zfzvm.png

It would be nice with a similar feature in the new client, it would be and easy way to watch some diamond or higher gameplay of champions you are trying to learn to play or play against.

I does not have to take up space in the main window, it could be a separate tab with room to show more then 5 games, and maybe also show player names rank etc.

Watching games on twitch is okay, but something it would be nice to watch it in the client, where are you not forced to spectate from the view of the streamer.

Thorin's Thoughts - Riot Doesn't Celebrate LCS Greatness Like Bjergsen (LoL)

5 Things Everyone Should Know About Wards (courtesy of a support main)

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 04:58 AM PDT

1) Riot made a change several patches ago that gives full gold to both the player who reveals a ward and the player who destroys it. This means that if one player finds an enemy ward by placing a control ward or sweeping, it is better for a teammate to deliver the killing blow so they both receive gold.

2) If you see a teammate using their Oracle sweeper, travel with them, as this serves two purposes. First, they won't be picked off for being alone while clearing wards. Secondly, a single person clearing a ward is limited by their attack speed (and for supports this is incredibly slow); by pairing up with them, you will clear wards faster as a unit, cover more ground, and potentially deny more vision.

3) This is a tip primarily for junglers and roamers. If you see someone place a control ward and it reveals a ward which did not see you before being disabled, do not attack the ward. Attacking the ward will reveal you to the enemy team regardless of its disabled status, so by letting the placer of the control ward clear it you remain undiscovered. (visual aid created by /u/iamPause)

edit: 3.5) When you're in baron pit and you're starting baron, don't destroy the ward or the enemy team will notice you are there. Leaving the ward denies vision, whereas if you kill it that's a few seconds your enemies are granted a window into the pit. Wait until after the objective is secured before attacking the wards unless you are worried about teleport. (credit to /u/Noctis_ff_at_15 & /u/Taylor1350)

4) You can ward the tribrush in botlane from the dragon pit. This is known as the Scarra ward because if you place it incorrectly, then the ward will jump to either side of the brush instead of inside of it (which Scarra did twice edit: make that three times in a matter of seconds on stream). To place this ward without fail, look for a snail on the wall of dragon pit above the tribrush. Place the ward directly on the snail's neck, and your ward will go into the tribrush every time. Sidenote: You can also place a ward in toplane tribrush from baron pit in a similar manner, though personally I don't know the marker.

5) Think of control wards as outposts. If left alone, they can be easily dispatched of, but if your team remains in th3eir vicinity it claims that territory, expands your control further towards the enemy, and carries the opportunity to punish opponents for invading that space.

- = Bonus Tips = -

Bonus tip) If you plan on switching from a vision trinket to a sweeping trinket, try to time your back such that you can place one more trinket ward before switching. In this way, you still gain utility from your trinket slot even while it is on cooldown from switching types and you don't waste the time it has spent cooling down from your last use.

Bonus tip #1.5) If you have 2 charges on your warding trinket and switch it to sweeping lens, it will be ready right away. (credit to /u/hellsinferno322)

Bonus tip #2) On the same token, if you're about to recall with Sightstone wards left and you don't have any decent wards out, pop them down somewhere close before you recall. (credit to /u/apexjnr)

Bonus tip #3) You can place trinket all wards while recalling without cancelling the recall channel. (credit to /u/Taylor1350, /u/Malthax, & /u/KissMaPaws)

edit #I lost count: After many edits, it seems this has grown into 5 10 Things Everyone Should Know About Wards. I am in favor of this development; the more teams know about wards the easier it is to play the game itself. Be sure to check the comments; there is even more great advice I haven't added to the OP that can step your ward game up even further. Some posts go very in depth which is why it would be cumbersome to add them to this post, but they would greatly benefit anyone who hasn't seen the information detailed therein previously so I implore you to explore further.

SKT Bang's midnight twitter posts on how to play the ADC, his own performance, thoughts, and recognition

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 02:28 AM PDT

Bang sent 9 twitter posts last night on his own performance. They are his heartfelt words, and I think ought to be translated and shared on reddit.

(Apologies for this being a relay translation from a Chinese source: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5090292362) (Edit, found another source on a Taiwan forum by a different translator, allowing me to compare and make minor tone adjustments: https://www.ptt.cc/bbs/LoL/M.1493206732.A.102.html. Changes marked in *)

(I know, I wish I chose Korean as my third language too TT)

Post 1: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856965943431278592

In League of Legends, those in a Carry position should be able to:

1) Keep hitting their opponent (this is a must), and fight whenever you can;

2) Do NOT die. (When you are hitting the opponent, you are also within the range of being hit yourself.)

3) If you are a pro-gamer, you must also: manage the lane, shot-call, communicate, and judge the situation.

Post 2: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856966159882567680

A method of making points 1 and 2 easier to achieve: Calculate in advance the skills your opponent have to kill you (or render you unable to put out damage), and guard against them.

As an observer, you can simply see it as ONLY go in to fight when you think you can win; if you fight, you should win in most cases.

Post 3: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856966873694355456

Even now, people still say they don't know why I am "good". I used to think that these will only be a handful, as those who do play LOL themselves and then watch competitive games, should have little difficulty in recognising me.

But even my friend say things like "If I play [ADC for SKT], I won't do a bad job either." Things like this hurts me a lot. T_T

Post 4: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856967608133836800

When people asks me "In what aspects are you better than another pro-gramer?" (Question 1), I cannot answer that simply. Because this would require naming the weakness of other players (and also has a lot to do with the position they play).

The correct answer to Question 1 is: compared to others, I make less mistakes.

Post 5: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856968681124896768

To avoid even the smallest of errors, those days that I have trained like crazy until I almost fall in exhaustion, because of some friends' meaningless jokes, now seems like they are all for nothing.

I dread that a lot more people also think this way, and it hurts me even more. T_T.

Post 6: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856972519978315776

Even after I have now said what I felt, I might still not be able to change what other people think about me. But at least, I hope you can see my thoughts, get to know me—this particular pro-gamer—a bit better. I also hope my views can help you better judge the skills of pro-gamers when you watch a game.

And the most important reason: Please don't hurt me more. T_T [* Stop bullying me!!]

Post 7: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856973477466603521

League of Legends is a game that brings fun to all who participate.

But when one gets to the pro level, it gets much more in-depth. Even though I play professionally, when I watch other teams compete, there are those plays that determine win or lose, I have to watch it 3 or 4 times before I can fully understand the cause.

Post 8: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856974231552180224

What I am trying to say is, a team's victory is not brought on by a single individual. In a 5v5 game, there is no player that is not important.

My words will not be at all unfamiliar to those who often play and enjoy playing LOL.

Post 9: https://twitter.com/JunSikJjang123/status/856974674932006912

To conclude: Our teams is too good ;; [*Our team is super good! (tone here, meaning Bang is immensely proud of his team]

A strange phenomenon occurs: Even a pro-gamer can became a biased fan of SKT. [maybe saying Bang himself is a also "brainless fan" of SKT.]

Thank you, my friend. I was going to sleep, but in this late dark night, I have spent 4 restless hours thinking about random things.

Free High Elo Coaching - League of Mentoring

League of Mentoring

League of Mentoring is currently looking for new mentors (D3+) and students from any region to join our community!

If you'd like the discord link straight up without having to read the text below, >>it may be found here<<. That being said, we recommend reading through the post to get an impression of what kind of community we are, and encourage you to ask us questions in the comments if you have any concerns regarding the Discord server.

In addition, we've just created a Twitter profile, where we'd also be happy to adress any concerns through tweets or DMs.

Who are we?

League of Mentoring is a discord community that has been around for almost a year now, with mentors ranking from D3 to Challenger tier. Everything is 100% free and our amazing mentors teach because they genuinely enjoy helping others. Important to note is that we only want a positive learning environment so absolutely NO RANTING or salt here.

We have a number of verified mentors from the all main servers including NA Challenger ADC and streamer xFSN Saber, ex C9 analyst ofgsaiph, and a myriad of master/challenger players with extensive knowledge on their signature champions. We are always looking for more talented educators to join our ranks! Please message our head mentor Muyuu or one of our admins if you're interested.

How it works

We offer many free services, both text-based and voice-based, such as text channels to ask questions for the mentors to answer(both lane-specific and general), a sign-up to recieve a VOD reviewed, classroom-style reviews in the voice channels, in-game strategies and general meta discussion, tier lists, and competitive discussion. Every once in a while we will also host events such as the Mentoring Games where teams of players of a rank will be assigned to mentors for a few weeks to prepare for a faceoff against a team of the same rank led by other mentors. For example 5 bronze players being coached by a master coach vs another team of 5 bronze players coached by another coach. It is great fun, so sign up!

Beyond learning, being a part of a community is an important part of our server. Staff-hosted events, chatrooms, and an achievements showcase channel bind us together to involve you. Our goal is for people to be able to find long lasting league friendships and form mentor-student relationships. There's nothing better than seeing our students climb through the ranks and hit new achievement breakpoints.

If you are interested in receiving a VOD review from a coach PLEASE read the "VOD review coaching" channel in our server for more information BEFORE asking

I'm sold! How do I join?

You can join the community by clicking the discord link above (no installation required) and can ask any questions in the respective chat rooms. Please read the rules before speaking, inappropriate behavior will NOT be tolerated at all and will result in punishment.

Redemption doesn't work during Eggnivia

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 06:20 AM PDT

Sometimes I like to mess around and play support Anivia (don't knock it. It's my cheese pick that I somehow seem to pull off). I got knocked down to egg form and tried to use redemption- but I guess it doesn't work since she can't use item actives while in egg form.

I wonder if this was something that was intended or something that was just never adjusted. Do you guys know of any other time you can't use redemption? (Like Aatrox passive maybe?)

Do you guys think she should be able to use it in egg form or would it be too cheese?

Practice tool is everything we could of hoped for, but it would be fantastic if we could do it with others!

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 04:41 AM PDT

Although is was intended for solo, I really want to be able to do it with friends as it provides multiple pros and no cons. The first reason to do this is because you can do some fun shenanigans and 1v1 late game without having to go late game. The other reason is because you will be able to practice more realistic in game situtations. The main motivation behind me making this suggestion is because I want to practice my qss flash after being kicked by lee sin but I have to actually risk it in a normal game which takes hours to reset if I mess up. ;)

What are you guys thoughts?

Yasuo skin concept: Yasquituo!

Posted: 26 Apr 2017 03:14 AM PDT

Hi y'all. I've had an idea for a Yasuo skin concept to better reflect his in-game fantasy: Yasquituo!

This buzzing warrior fights with a Flysquatter passed down only to the most skilled Mosquito warriors. Here is a handcrafted splash art for you to picture the beauty of this skin!

The spell effects:

His Q would have a slapping noise and for the third Q he'd shoot a swarm of insects! W would be an invisible impenetrable forcefield, also known as "window" as the humans call them. When using E there would be a super annoying buzzing sound that get's louder when he stacks it up. His R would turn the enemy into a Lightbulb when they are knocked airborne before viscously assaulting them in a sudden outburst of fury!
