The stats are better. I don't think this alone makes it better because Aghs is cheaper and the active is generally better. The stat advantage of Linken's usually doesn't matter that much, but Black had some mana issues because of Nyx (he missed a kill on WR once because he didn't have mana for his ult), and since he didn't go for the Vanguard, the health regen is especially nice.

Slark had Silver Edge. This is a huge deal because Slark can help initiate ganks on AM really well. If they jump AM with Slark + WR they can disable his Aghs which makes the gank a lot easier to execute.

Nyx can use AM's Aghs to stun him with Mana Burn. If Nyx uses Spiked Carapace and then Mana Burns AM, the Mana Burn will reflect on Nyx, so AM deals damage to Nyx and will be stunned by Spiked Carapace. Nyx can then follow up that stun with Impale, which in total stuns AM for 5.2 seconds, making him very easy to kill, with some help. So in this case Aghs actually gives TNC yet another way to gank him, which I actually think is a big factor you shouldn't overlook.

Reflecting spells is very good of course, but I think these reasons are good enough to justify the Linken's.

Which sups are the best in late game?

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 09:54 AM PDT

I found there are some sups I like playing late game way more than others, like disruptor and wd. But others are severely lacking like ss and sd (if you don't get aghs at least). Which sups do you think work the best in a late game composition?

Roaming/Support Brewmaster in 7.05?

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 07:41 AM PDT

Yo, I've been sitting on this idea for a while now and I felt like asking what people think about it. Tried search but I'm only getting pretty outdated posts. Roaming is most likely at its height of power right now but with the main roamers having been nerfed, looking for alternatives is not a bad idea. MK and ES are still really good, along with Riki, BH and likely Tusk and SK. But maybe Brew could join that pool?

So, position 4 Brewmaster. Brew is a pretty odd hero — people used to run him mid quite a while ago but he has since transitioned into the offlane, since he really doesn't need the Pos 2 gold and XP. However, he isn't honestly that good of an offlaner unless it's an 1v1 matchup against a melee hero or if it's a 2v2 lane with someone like Dirge/Abaddon keeping him alive and rocking.

And even then, whenever he is played offlane in pro games, he gets a fast Blink (naturally) and then the pros put his farm priority on a backburner. Often finishing the game with just Blink, maybe a few aura items or an Aghs. And why not? Brewmaster doesn't really need that much gold, because all of his power is in his spells and he spends most of the fight in his ult which can't be improved with items (except for auras and Aghs).

Even XP dependency is arguable. I mean sure, he needs level 6. But really, which hero doesn't? Drunken Brawler is a great one point wonder while Drunken Haze does it's job very well (deny CS and setup Thunder Clap with the slow) at level one while also scaling well with levels.

Thunder Clap + Drunken Haze + Orb of Venom is a really cancerous amount of slows, while Thunder Clap deals good damage and Drunken Brawler is also pretty much a quaranteed crit every gank, since you won't be last-hitting creeps. Brew isn't too squishy either, starting with 2 armor and 23 STR. His other base stats are also good: 300 movement speed is alright and he has triple the base HP regen (0.75). His level 10 talent — +3 mana regen — makes him pretty much set in terms of mana, especially if you combine it with Vlads/Basi.

And Primal Split, oh boy. One of the best spells in the game, in my opinion. Even at level one it's really good. Maxing it merely doubles the Brewlings' HPs (except for the Fire Spirit, who remains at 1200 no matter what level your ult is) and gives them a bit more damage. The CC and utility are completely static. The biggest scaling factor is Earth Spirit's Demolish and Cooldown, both of which are also acceptable at level 1-2.

You can chase people like a madman with your spammable long range slow, which can then be followed into a real sticky situation for the enemy player with Thunder Clap and OoV. In teamfights, you do what Brew does best and Blink + Clap into Ult and proceed to dominate. And if you choose to babysit mid, like most supports do these days, there is almost no better spell for denying farm than Drunken Haze. 25 mana cost, 70% miss chance with 50% uptime at level 1 (and nearly 100% at level 4). Good luck last hitting, lol. You can also zone hard with your Drunken Master crits while winning trades with your evasion, miss chance debuff and slows.

In terms of item build, I think Blink + Vlads are core. Depending on the team composition, your boots can be Tranquils, Arcanes or even Phase with Tranqs being the go-to choice. Extended core items include Aghs and Assault Cuirass. Luxury items can be pretty much anything depending on the game.

So, what do you guys think? Also, if I'm late with this strat and pros have tried it in the past do post a link to a Vod if you can.

Why do we keep seeing Medusa in pro games going linkens into Yasha(manta)?

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 10:52 AM PDT

In my experience, Mask of Madness into anything(pick one of BKB or Skadi) is way better. Is it that teams think they can find the farm for 25 minutes? Do teams just pick medusa for her ult but not actually practice her?

Getting Tilted when Solo queuing , what to do

Posted: 28 Apr 2017 11:19 AM PDT

A few years ago when I started playing dota 2, I was most of the time solo queuing , and would rarely play with my friends.Fast forward , more or less than 2 years ago I got picked up by a local team for a tourney being held by TNC ( just the average 5-6k players ) and we would always play every night till morning to practice our draft and teamplay. during that time and after that I stopped solo queuing due to the fact that a 5-man is entirely different as opposed to playing solo mmr. I mean I got used to most of the drills that our team does , how to do this and that etc.

and at some point in time i wanted to increase my solo mmr, the moment I tried, the game just felt very different for me it wasnt the flow I already got used to, and I almost always tilt every game due to the fact that most of the players would want to their own thing which they think would be better etc etc. theres lack of coordination/ communication etc and the ppl who keep complaining when they actually are the ones dragging the game down because of their own mistakes

for instance there was this time I played a roaming support mirana and got ganked every lane successfully before the 10 min mark, at one point I was 10-1 as a position 4, and I notice our invoker was doing poorly despite the succesful ganks I did for him . at some point he and the carry kept dying trying to make a play, and they just started flaming me for no reason, etc etc. that moment I tilted because I tried helping every lane but still our mid got outclassed and team almost got wiped trying to fight uphill. the game went on downhill from there i lost the interest midway due to all the flaming. as a result I just sold all my items and didnt want to play the game anymore XD

The SEA El Classico! TnC vs Faceless. Here's My First Ever Team v Team Analysis Video On The Matchup!

Posted: 27 Apr 2017 05:42 PM PDT

TnC has been looking extremely strong. Thanks to their new analyst and coach, Kips, their gameplay is much more cohesive and sharp.

In the past, TnC's problem was that sometimes they just didn't know what to do strategy-wise. I believe this problem had been solved in the recent Swiss rounds.

Faceless is however TnC's nemesis. 4-1 against the PH squad, FL also consistently beats SEA teams and is considered the gatekeeper of SEA.

On paper, TnC should win. However, realistically, they are looking towards a very hard matchup which they are likely to lose.

You can hear more about my analysis here: https://youtu.be/OT2WjwSCxqI

What do you guys think of the matchup?
