Schedule and Format

Group Stage: April 24th - April 25th, 2017

  • 16 teams in a single group
  • Swiss-system format
    • Four rounds
    • Opponents always have the same win/loss record
    • Teams never play an opponent twice
  • All matches are Bo3

Main Event: April 27th - April 30th, 2017

  • After round 4 of group stage, teams are seeded into the single elimination bracket according to their results:
    • 2 teams with 3-0 records
    • 3 teams with 3-1 records
    • 6 teams with 2-2 records
    • 3 teams with 1-3 records
    • 2 teams with 0-3 records
  • Seeding between teams with same amount of wins and loses wil be determined the following way:
    • Admins count all the games won vs all games lost for each team
Example: Team A has 2-0, 2-1, 1-2, 2-0 and Team B has 2-1, 2-1, 0-2, 0-2, so the total results of team A is 7-3 and team B is 6-4, so A has a higher seed, since they have more victories.
    • If a tie remains, then the total score of their opponents is then compared.
Example: Team A's opponents ended with 3-0, 1-3, 1-3, 0-3 and Team B's opponents ended with 3-1, 2-2, 2-2, 1-3, so the total will be 5-9 versus 8-8. Team B's opponents were stronger so this team's results have more value, and B will be seeded higher.
  • Next teams at the opposite side of the backet are paired with each other:
    • Team with best 3-0 are paired with the worst 0-3
    • Team with worst 3-0 are paired with the best 0-3
    • 2 best teams with 3-1 records with the 2 worst 1-3 on the other two corners of the bracket, and the remaining 3-1 goes versus top 1-3
    • 6 teams with 22 are dvided into 3 pairs (best 2-2 with the worst 2-2)
  • All matches are Bo3 except the grand finals which is Bo5

Lizzard on killing envy on EU

One of these is Spectre's Spectral Dagger. The other is just a black photoshop brush. Can you tell them apart?

Typing "CK" doesn't highlight Chaos Knight whereas it works for heroes like SF, DK, WK, NP, CM...

Posted: 23 Apr 2017 07:28 AM PDT

While typing in heroes of the main menu or before the game begins, typing "CK" doesn't highlight Chaos, or "TA" Templar. And when you type "Tresdin" you get LC, but the same doesn't work for Dragonus, Rylai, Mortred, Barathrum etc. Somewhat inconsistent, is that not?

Can we get hero name displayed for killing the courier

Currently it only says radiant/dire courier is killed. It would be better to know which hero killed the courier. TY

Crystal Maiden- 400 mmr to 2K, an Old Mans Tale

Posted: 23 Apr 2017 08:16 AM PDT

I just wanted to share this, there seems to be many trying to climb mmr and trying to get out of "Trenches". My son introduced me to Dota 6 months ago, i callibrated at 780 ( much to his amusement as he is good player ), then dropped to 400 mmr. I played Crystal Maiden as much as i could , and i tried hard to get better. I am technically slow, my speed on a keyboard is that of a forty year old man with Pudge hooks for hands. I tried to impact games, i tried to be a semi carry cm, i tried all sorts. I now play ( or try to ) like a support. Normally hard five, sometimes i am not alone as a support and it is normally a more productive game. I have climbed from 400 mmr to 2k today and am slightly pleased with myself . I am not sure how to link my Dotabuff? But i would like to thank Purge for a CM analysis i saw he did, my son and his friends who tolerated me dying to blademail in my ulti in their games and consistantly force staffed me out of death and told me where to run away too :D.Also the pros who play Cm and support and mainly the multitude of Teamates who have carried me, flamed me, smoke ganked with me etc etc. I am just a 2k pleb, but my advice,( if any other supports want it below my mmr range), is to play for your team, if they ping "we need wards" it may be because you do, try to pull, learn the timings, if you are babysitting then babysit, stay alive, and just think about what you are trying to do, for the whole game, thats it really. Oh, the reason i posted is because i am really not very good, so if i can climb to 2k, and you want to climb out of whatever sub2k bracket you are in, it probably means you can, cos seriously, i am awful, sometimes i frostbite creeps instead of heroes, if i play Witch doctor i forget i can "W" in my ulti, if i am running away i forget i can tp with my glimmer on and escape, i cant deal with more than three hotkeys for items, so i have to be careful if i have a glimmer, force staff, bkb, heaven forbid i have a shivas too, i mean i just cant handle four things to hit in sequence etc etc. So GL HF all. So here is my dotabuff link ( i think) https://www.dotabuff.com/players/68757605/matches i do not know why it shows uncorrect mmr.

DAY 5 (April 21st) Quarter-Finals

KNOCK OUT BRACKET HERE!

Rules:

  • All games are best of 3 (I decided to do BO3 finals as well)

  • Seeded team plays first game on radiant, and second game on dire, third game (if needed) seeded team plays on the side they won

  • If both teams are seeded (1st or 2nd) I will be using Random.org to determine who will have seed priority

  • Games will not be uploaded every 30 minutes, but I will pay attention that they don't overlap (if game is longer than 30 min, but shorter than 1h, next will be published 1 hour after the previous one was published, and so on...)

  • I will only post the link to the first game of every match, not to spoil how many games were played in each match

  • Finals will have randomed sides for game 3, no matter the seeding

Match 1: Extreme Push vs Bot Experiment Credit: Furiouspuppy

Match 2: Shutnik Bot Pile vs PubSimulator-Fixed

Match 3: Bot vs Alchemist And His Four Friends

Match 4: Ranked MatchMaking AI By:ADAMQQQ vs Default Unfair

DAY 6 (22nd April) Semi-Finals

CASTED SEMI FINALS!!!!

DAY 7 (23rd April) Finals (and 3rd place playoff)

Unfortunately 3rd place playoff was not casted, I had a 3rd caster that was supposed to do this, but he backed out, and I didn't wanna trouble the guys who are casting finals, but we have an awesome duo cast in the finals!!!

Also I decided the finals to be best of 3 after all..... we were all really tired :D

3rd Place Playoff Game 1: Shutnik Bot Pile vs Alchemist And His Four Friends

(I am sorry this game was not edited a bit, at least the logos at the top, I was running really low on time...)

THE GRAND FINALS GAME 1: Extreme Push vs Ranked Matchmaking AI by:AdamQQQ

I am very sorry for the game being late, I made a mistake in a date of video release, I released the first game "little" bit to late, but I adjusted everything now, so it should be fine, sorry again!

I will post one more post to summarize the tournament (after the finals), and I will answer every question anybody asks there (ofc tournament related or bot related if I can, maybe some of the bot makers will join) I watched all the games pretty much, so I might be able give some answers, I have been trying my best in all the posts, but missed some, I was very busy, this tournament took so much time, and I planned to do best of 2 instead of 1 in the groups, and double elimination, man, was I crazy back then?!?!
