[SPOILER][BoTW] Sidequest rewards are the joy of helping people

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 06:06 AM PDT

I just realized when I did the 10 first sidequest that rewards are useless(there are some exceptions) but you just simple enjoy to help the people and you don't feel bad with the crap rewards, that is amazing

Imagine 100 man multiplayer on a random section of the map made to be an island. 100 resurrection shrines randomly placed on the map. Starting with nothing and raiding enemy camps to get weapons to try to kill the other players. There is a flood and every few minutes the water gets deeper forcing the players into a smaller and smaller play area... This would be my favorite Nintendo DLC thus far...

[BoTW][SPOILERS] Does it rain too often in Hyrule?

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 07:45 AM PDT

I feel like there should be away to change weather to a degree, it's not like link has had trouble doing that in past games.

Maybe there should be something like the song of storms which lets you change weather the whether systems are creating rain too much.

Beat Zelda, i ll wrap up a few of the sidequests tomorrow but i got the "Perfect" ending and rewards from all shrines and such. There arent actually alternate endings, but there is an extended ending for doing certain things. I've decided against collecting the 900 korok seeds, I've looked up the reward and its not worth pursuing.

Weapons breaking honestly didn't bother me all that much even though it would be cool if the "one of a kind" weapons you got wouldn't break. There are ways to "Get them back" but typically the cost for something as expendable and obtainable as weapons in the game is not worth the trouble.

Difficulty of the game was made semi trivial after upgrading my "battle gear" a bit, though you really do have to put in a lot of work to upgrade your stuff so it actually feels justified, anyway "Hard mode" comes with an upcoming DLC which im not too interested in since there isn't any content other than the extra difficulty, but there is another DLC on the way that does have actual content, i am interested in that.

My only REAL complaints are: Rain really sucks, that never got any better. The only time it was okay was when it was raining to keep you out of content due to story. Other than that, it only serves to annoy you and honestly extended my playtime by quite a few hours of pure frustration because it halts your progress for no good reason. There are so many ways this could have been fixed, a song of storms would be great, or an armor set that prevented rock wall slipping when climbing. I dunno, this is my biggest complaint.

Second: As far as a Zelda game goes, id of liked a little more of the actual exclusive legend of zelda themed stuff, there was a major lack of tri-forces, memorable music (old music made its way in every now and then, but the new stuff there was, wasnt anything special or catchy), and very few hype moments of finding cool key items like other zelda games had. The game itself was beautiful though, i took a good 30 minutes of playing with the hud off after finishing the game to really take it in.

Third: The horse system should have worked like the witchers where you simply whistle and your horse comes running from out of nowhere. You can whistle and if your horse is within a certain distance it will come but its just not enough. They make a point out of saying "You can whistle for your horse, but your horse isnt magic, it has to be close enough to you to hear it" Which results in you very rarely using your horse if ever.

Trying to be critical on the game, but honestly there is very little that is bad about the game (other than rain), my other complaints are just missed potential points. I don't think there is any doubt that it will be game of the year, i would go as far as saying its as groundbreaking of a nintendo game as Ocarina of Time, or mario 64 were which are both considered timeless "Classics"

Interested in hearing your guys opinions on my own opinions :p
