Who else was brought back by the Water Festival in a big way?

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 06:52 AM PDT

I played a lot when this game first came out (as did many), but had fallen off quite a bit since its peak. I would occasionally check in or play for a bit, but that was about it. Gen 2 brought me back a bit, wanting to catch some of my favorite Pokémon from GSC, but nothing like the Water Festival. There are areas around here to catch water Pokémon, but I don't get down to them very often, so the idea of filling out my Pokédex and getting those candies much easier appealed to me and the temptation of possibly catching a golden Magikarp was too much.

The Water Festival really helped me recapture the magic of early Pokémon GO. Who else feels the same way?

I found a Pidgey at school near the whiteboard and decided to draw a tree with a branch to have him hanging in there.

Everything is grey after the event ended!

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 05:24 AM PDT

Back to those Pidgeys, Murkrows and Rattatas..It just shows how good the event was that after it I am losing all interest in the game but I will keep going waiting for another event. It really changes the game and this game needs more events like this. It really boosts the quality and the fun this game can offer and it shows that this game can just be better with these kind of events and by implementing new stuff.

[Discussion] Why is there a store button when choosing berries but no berries in the store? (let me buy pinaps pls Niantic)

[Question] I'm at the bottom of my gym.....

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 11:08 AM PDT

My mon has been in a gym for almost two months. It started out in the third slot now it is at the bottom. Would it be horrible to have my daughter knock me out and then put a stronger mon in? I would actually like to put in my CP3018 shiny Gyro to show off. It would be the top mon. So everyone could see it without entering the gym

Does CP ever get raised, or will my new 15/15/15 Bubble Hydro Pump Poliwrath be useless in gyms forever?

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 05:55 PM PDT

At level 30, I finally caught a perfect IV pokemon, and it evolved into a Poliwrath with nearly ideal moves. I was so excited!

Then I learned that, even after burning tons of stardust, the best CP I can hope for is around 2000. Turns out this tough little lady is useless for defending gyms in my area. What a disappointment.

Does Niantic ever adjust CP to be more representative of a pokemon's abilities? Does it seem likely that they would do this for Poliwrath? Did this discrepancy exists in the original games? I'd love to think she'll really shine one day.

What makes PoGo such an unstable app? (Discussion)

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 08:51 AM PDT

I've been playing mobile games on my phone for a very very long time. I've never seen such an unstable game, it feels like I have to relaunch PoGo on average 2 times over the course of a 1 hr play session or at the very least reconnect my PoGo plus a 2-4 times in the same hour.

I don't get how a company making as much as they are with IAP has such an issue with stability. Maybe ignore some of the minor text issues to address stability.

/rant over.

I have being playing Pokémon since its inception and I do enjoy it... when it doesn't get boring. I always felt what was missing was the ability to compare with your friends. So I built a web site where you can catalogue your Pokémon and compare with your friends. Suggestions? Let me know!

A challenge for rural players!

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 12:40 PM PDT

I challenge you, the rural players, like me, to have some fun. I live in southern New York, near Poughkeepsie if anyone knows where that is. In other words, 2 hours south of NYC. I have had playing pokemon go every day for three months. You know why? I have fun. The only pokestop/gym location within a ten mile radius of me is three miles away, five miles by road. I hike through the forest every day, rain, or shine, to get my streak. This is what I do, as a rural player, instead of complaining. Its a ton of fun. There is lots of thorn bushes, and rivers fifteen feet wide, that I make bridges to cross. I find things like snakes, and frogs, and once, a deer that didn't run! It makes me feel like a child again! I love it, and I challenge you fellow rural players to play like me. Have fun with it! It's better than complaining on half of the posts in this sub-reddit. BTW, I'm level 28!

[Complaint] "X" button above "Evolution" button is annoying.

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 08:41 AM PDT

I don't know if this depends on resolution screen of the smartphone so here https://imgur.com/a/825uD there's a screenshot of what I mean.

It is very annoying that the "X" button to get out from the "pokemon stats" after you catch a pokemon is above the Evolution button.

Some days ago, I was to evolve an useless Magikarp for error but luckily I didn't.

I think that they should move that "X" button to a normal position (for example on top-right of the screen). The current position is totally senseless.

I would like to have an option to disable evolution and power up button till we want to enable them again. So for example when I'm out catching pokemon I would like to disable them in order to avoid to press them for error and then enable them again only when I really want to use them.

I need to get me a Falcon-9 Rocket.

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 03:35 PM PDT

I could go 100KM in under 3minutes,30seconds.

There's just 2 problems with that though.

I would be going 8,750 KM/hour over the Pokémon GO speed limit for getting buddy candy or hatching eggs.

And it doesn't track the distance going up so I'd actually get 0 distance even if the speed limit was removed :(

So Niantic, please remove the speed limit, track distance vertically, and get me a ride on the Falcon-9 Rocket.

Batches of shiny pokemon

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 01:23 PM PDT

I hope they slowly release ~10 new shiny pokemon with each nest migration. I also hope they don't announce which pokemon can now be shiny. This would add a sense of hype and anticipation.

This community is at its best when we are working together to figure things out. I don't see any rush to release all the shinies. Slowing down the end game content extends the life of the game. What do you all think?

[QUESTION] What do you fight Blissey's with? Power up a high IV Blissey that got double Psychic?

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 02:25 PM PDT

In short, I live in Los Angeles, have a few Chansey. My Blissey got double Psychic moves. Zen Headbutt and Psychic. Apps rate this as a bad or low desirable moveset. I could get another Blissey, or dump most my candy to max CP this one.

Does everyone fight Blissey with Machamp? Does that make double Psychic more desirable than the numbers which don't tell the whole story?

[DIY] Ditto Plush Tutorial

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 10:08 AM PDT

https://youtu.be/AWOK5z6HaUY

My wife made another awesome tutorial! She really likes Ditto and thought it would be fun to make a plush/pillow. It was very cheap to make and ended up looking really nice in the end. The tutorial does require some sewing skills, but it should be easy enough for novices, so hopefully you can enjoy and make your own!

If there is any questions or feedback, let me know and I will be happy to try and help.

Fuck Pineco. After hatching 6, i'm done playing until its changed to 5km

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 03:04 PM PDT

Anyone else in with me? Pineco to 5km. Boycott until. This Pokémon sucks and i hatch him about half the Time from my 10km

Editorial: maybe a little irrational. Ill still get my dailies but already having three Fortress and only one larvitar Is pretty damn disappointing
