An Open Letter to Squeakers

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 07:21 AM PST

Dear xlMLGxSnipezx4xdatxxAZZlx,

It's tough be 12. It really is. You have all kinds of things going on in your life. You're changing, your friends are changing, your parents are always on your case and you just want to sit in your room and play some video games. CoD is in a lull right now. Battlefield 1 is kind of boring now. Going back to Destiny and getting a raid or two in sounds like a great idea. The problem is, your 382 light level and lack of experience make it difficult to qualify or meet the crazy demands of the posts on LFG. Especially the "NO SQUEAKERS" posts. Screw those guys, right? So you start your own group. You grab two other friends from school that are online and then you make a post on LFG asking for 395+ guardians with the emblem because you need some experienced Guardians to carry you through hard mode. It's cool though because you did normal a few times and your friend (usually named (J)(C)(Br)ayden) has done everything but Aksis challenge mode. It's cool though because he watched Mr. Fruit do it on YouTube.

So now you start getting messages from guys like me. I'm in my 40's with 3 kids of my own. I just spent 10 hours at work trying to convince Darla in finance why that deal is perfectly OK to approve and that the customer isn't new they just changed their name. Then I came home and did my best to leave that shit behind and be a good dad and husband. I just spent the better part of half of my last paycheck to pay the mortgage online and now I want to escape all that and get my last character through the raid before reset.

You add me to your party and immediately I regret messaging you. Why? Because the first thing I hear when I join is you telling (J)(C)(Br)ayden how you will slap that Nword (soft a) because he's a f***t. Look, I curse like a sailor. I'm not offended easily but there is a concept of time and place that you have to learn. I'm going to look past it though because tick-tock. I have to get this done and LFG has been slow as molasses tonight.

Then we get to the raid and I ask if everyone knows what they're doing. The other 30 somethings that joined up clearly do. One of your friends that you added knows his shit and is doing well. You and (J)(C)(Br)ayden have died 3 times before the first bomb phase on Vosik phase one and I hear you say that you're going to take off the No Land and switch to Mida. I'm hoping that's all there is to it and it turns out, it was. We get to Vosik's room and that's where it becomes obvious you have no idea what you're doing. People keep telling you what to do and you keep ignoring them. These are experienced raiders that are trying to help you and you just keep trying to be a hero because you don't want anyone to know you don't know what you're doing. Even (J)(C)(Br)ayden is starting to catch on and is holding his own. You though, you don't want your secret to get out that you are woefully inexperienced and as a result. I have no choice but to leave after 90 minutes and 18 wipes when you tell us to not to start it because your "stupid mom keeps calling you". I'm sure you're disappointed when you come back and everyone is gone except (J)(C)(Br)ayden who's telling you that YOU'RE the reason everyone left. So, I'm going to tell you exactly how to keep this from happening in the future. You won't listen but I'm going to tell you anyway.

Most of us are happy to help you. By 'us' I mean human beings. See, people want to help others. Especially if they are humble in their request. If I join your group and you say "I have a general idea what to do but I could use some help", I'm going to help you. I'm a dad, you're a kid. It's now part of my DNA to help you. I will take you left side with me and tell you everything you need to know to be productive and alive throughout the raid. You're still going to die. A lot. That's fine. Just try to not run up on the Captain next time. I told you I've got him. Keep working on staying alive and we'll get through this.

What you think you need to be, is not what you need to be. I don't need you to act like you're an adult. It's cool to be 12 but I just need you to be honest and listen. Go out there and show people that not all squeakers are bad.

Tl;Dr Attn: Squeakers: Be honest, listen to more experienced people and follow their direction. Oh, and stop saying disrespectful things about your mother. I know she drives you crazy but she loves you and she probably worked her ass off so you could have everything in that room you're sitting in.

Just got my Ghost in the mail (credit to a fellow Guardian)

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 05:55 AM PST

Wooden Ghost I just received from a fellow redditor, u/andyjpanda

In my hand it's about the same size as a ghost would be in the game. Gamertag on the side was a very nice touch, as was the keychain (wasn't expecting the keychain surprise).

I wanted to show this off, and give credit to the Guardian who put the work into it.

Good work, and Thanks !

Data & Analysis from 1545 Three of Coins over 515 days (with bonus 553 3oCs)

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 07:56 AM PST

This is a continuation of the data & analysis from my 2 previous posts, here and here.

If you have general questions regarding Three of Coins, please refer to my Three of Coins FAQ.

Data collection methodology will be outlined at the end of the post.

My raw data spreadsheet can be found here on Google Spreadsheets. Please feel free to make your own analysis using my data, but please reference/attribute me if you use my data.

Big Picture Results:

1545 3oCs used, which netted 291 Exotic engrams. This comes out to an average of 1 Exotic Engram per 5.29 3oCs (18.90%).

There does not seem to be any change to the 3oC effectiveness over the 515 day sample period.

If you are interested in the drop rate of individual items, please refer to the "ItemDecryption" sheet. The data shows that the drop rate of each 'slot' (e.g. primary, gloves) is even, roughly 1/7th.

I did get another 'double' exotic on 18th Jan 2017. My guess is that the 'double' exotic happens on around 1% of exotic drops from 3oC. (I had 2 doubles from 289 drops)

I estimate that each failed 3oC increases the chance of an exotic on the next 3oC by 5%. The chart can be seen on the "DropRatevsEstimate" sheet. The blue line is actual observed chance at each 3oC and the the red line is my estimate of +5% after each failure.

Effectiveness Cooldown is across the whole account:

Since the split of the legacy console (Xbox 360) from current gen console (Xbox One), I have been able to collect a separate set of data on my Xbox 360. But, on the Xbox 360, I do not wait between characters. I load up the Titan, kill Draksis, switch to Warlock, kill Draksis, switch to Hunter, kill Draksis and log off.

This sample shows that the 3oC effectiveness cooldown is applied across the whole account. You can NOT bypass the 3oC effectiveness cooldown by switching characters.

Since I load up my Titan first every day, he is not affected by the effectiveness cooldown. However, it is clear that my Warlock and my Hunter has a significantly lower drop rate: Titan's 18.72% vs 9.89% on Warlock and 10.33% on Hunter. Titan's drop rate is consistent with the drop rate on my characters on the Xbox One where there is sufficient time between characters. Warlock and Hunter's drop rate is consistent with the drop rate from /u/wiggly_poof's Speed Farming study where there is no wait time between 3oCs.

Data collection procedure:

I started collecting the data on the 25th September 2015. This was after the 3oC nerf.

I use one 3oC per character per day across 3 characters. So the time between 3oC use (per character) should be sufficiently large (>20 hours) to not be affected by the effectiveness cooldown.

I also try to separate my 3oC use across characters by at least 15 minutes.

I use the Draksis checkpoint on the Scourge of Winter story mission.

I do not use any 3oCs outside of the Draksis checkpoint.

I play and complete numerous Strikes, Nightalls, Raids, Daily Story missions, Crucible, SRL and Iron Banner in between my daily 3oC data collection, but never use 3oC during any of these activities.

I collect data daily because it is the easiest way for me to keep track, without resorting to using stopwatches etc. Not knowing the exact length of the 3oC effectiveness cooldown period also makes daily data collection ideal.

Having a historical record of 3oC effectiveness will also allow me to spot any changes (if any).

I play on the Xbox One, so I do not have data for Playstation exclusive exotics.

If You Don't Like This Meta, Try The One Punch Man Build

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 09:15 AM PST

If you find yourself not enjoying the meta, I'd suggest running the following for a night, because it was a blast.

Striker + Discharge (Bonus Melee Damage) + ACD/0 Feedback Fences + Shoulder Charge = OHKO

Shoulder Charge is much better now that not everyone has a shotgun to instantly open a crater in your chest and now 100% one shots all armored opponents. The best part, however, is that the damage from ACD/0 Feedback Fence and a Discharge melee is enough to kill enemies in 1 hit.

More people will be relying on melee's in close range because of a lack of shotguns, which is an inherent buff to the ACD/0 Feedback Fences. So you'll be proc'ing the perk more than you had before.

I also have a Continental AR's with Close and/or Personal, so I just ran around 1 shot punching everyone and it was fun and also hilarious. I didn't need to wait around for shotgun ammo to fly around the map like a Dracula.

Become Legend: Weekly Tips (Nightfall/Heroics/Shaxx/Tier 12) [2017-02-21]

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 03:24 AM PST

Intro

This is a revised edition of the Weekly Guides I used to do. I think most players get the gist of what to do from week to week so this is a toned down version with only worthwhile information or uncommon but useful strategies.

Nightfall - The Abomination Heist

Modifiers

  • Epic
  • Arc Burn
  • Specialist
  • Juggler
  • Exposure

The strike itself shouldn't be too difficult, you'll need to contend with Hive Knight Boomers and Wizards though. You can always reset your Exposure shield prior to the boss fight at the end by dying and getting a revive. In terms of defeating the Abomination, that wonderful trick where everyone has The Fourth Horseman and you Tether + Weapons of Light, yeah that works this week and you'll be able to obliterate this dude in about 10 seconds or less.

SIVA Crisis Heroic

Modifiers

  • Heroic
  • Arc Burn
  • Brawler
  • Ironclad

Sounds like a Zhalo Supercell week to me. Bladedancer, Striker, and Stormcaller are the obvious choices. Punches will be the way to go so choose perks that reset your melee so your Arc damage carries through. Bladedancer with these modifiers can stun bosses with Razor's Edge then began to cut away at them, give it a go! Stormtrance should clear adds through the strike like a hot knife through butter.

Shaxx Bounty - Back to the Basics

Objectives:

  • Complete 7 Matches
  • 50 Primary Kills
  • 25 Assisted Kills
  • 25 Ability Kills

Nothing is overly difficult for this week, just playing the matches should get your completion. Stick with your team and shoot down the enemy that way, you need the assist points more than anything. Dominate one area of the map, almost all maps have a power-position that's best to defend and let the enemies run into your trap. Use your Super to take this area or defend it if you need to. Roaming supers tend to do well in Clash as things are a bit more chaotic and players are normally more spread out than in Control or Rift. With the changes to the meta, you'll be getting those 50 Primary Kills done in no time!

Weekly Elite Bounties

With The Dawning comes some new bounties for strikes to accompany their recent changes. These bounties may be picked up from Zavala.

  • Strike Elite: Earn 9 Medals in Strikes (Bronze/Silver/Gold Tier)
    • Rewards: 10000 EXP, Vanguard Rep +200, Legendary Armor, Legendary Marks +10
  • Sunrise: Earn a Gold Tier Achieve Medal in the Nightfall before time expires.
    • Rewards: 10000 EXP, Vanguard Rep +200, Legendary Weapon, Legendary Marks +10
  • Simply Perfect: Complete SIVA Crisis Strikes without any member of your fireteam dying to earn Flawless Medals.
    • Rewards: 10000 EXP, Vanguard Rep +200, Legendary Armor, Legendary Marks +10

Simply Perfect is triggered by getting a Flawless medal, so as long as you don't die during the strike you'll earn a point for this bounty.

Vendor Items

This section is only going to include gear that is capable of Tier 12. What a week for Titans!

"The Reclaimed" - Eliksni Guardian REDUX. A fan's concept of what an redeemed Fallen expansion could look like.

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 08:27 PM PST

THE RECLAIMED - ELIKSNI GUARDIAN

DISCLAIMER The following ideas, art, etc. is a fan-based It has no bearing on the development or content of DESTINY. DESTINY, and all it's characters, expansions, lore, belong to BUNGIE, Inc. and Activision Publishing, Inc.

EDITS INCOMING ALONG WITH NEW STUFF TO LOOK AT!

  • Edit Batch #1: Fixing all the duplicate links in progress! Thanks for the heads up folks!

  • Edit Batch #2: Added new enemy types, and the names of the quest lines.

[UP NEXT OVERVIEW OF ALL THE STORY MISSIONS, STAY TUNED]

Greetings everyone! A little over a year ago, I made my first topic on a fan concept. The idea/concept was to show off how an redeemed Fallen or an Eliksni Guardian might play.

I got an incredibly positive response and wonderful feedback from it, and for my entry point into the community here I couldn't have asked for more.

It inspired me to take the concept further and refine it as best as I could!

My plan was to create a sort of Game Design/High Concept Document showing how it all could be done. It was going to packed to the brim with stuff. Armor sets, the script for the story missions, all the available loot, weapons, etc. etc.

Well...turns out I might've bit off more than I could chew and may have gotten overzealous. I kept coming up with things to add, changing the story and main villain, had some familial issues along with some mental health issues, etc. etc. Though honestly, the biggest hindrance to all of this was my own procrastination and laziness.

Since I am now working on furthering my own education in obtaining another degree to get my job in the Game Design industry (as well as focusing on my own game ideas and concepts I can develop on my own as an independent developer) I decided I needed to compile and release what to the community.

I hope you guys enjoy it and don't find it too overbearing.

Before I go on, I need to thank some folks for their help in the project:

  • /user/OS_Epilson for listening to the concept and helping me out with it as a whole.

  • nagunk for help with the art for the bosses and the promo art for this concept.

  • theresidentdevil for also helping me with the art of the male and female eliksni guardian heads.

Anywho, let's get this thing started.

What is The Reclaimed? It is a fan-made concept created by yours truly to illustrate how an Eliksni (Fallen) Guardian could work in the world of Destiny. Everything about this concept was created around an understanding of the game-world, lore, story, and mechanics of Destiny and how an expansion (or corresponding spin-off) of a redeemed Fallen warrior (specifically a dreg) could work in terms of the games while also testing mechanics, storylines, and concepts out.

It's a both a pipe-dream and a creative exercise, but it was a fun one nonetheless to come up with. I have doubts BUNGIE will see or acknowledge it (possibly for legal reasons) but that's okay. I made it for myself and for members of the community who enjoy the idea of playing as an Eliksni Guardian.

Concept Theme

The main and overarching theme of The Reclaimed is one of Redemption. The narrative is driven by the second chance given to a reborn Fallen to atone for the crimes of their past life, the transgressions of their people, and a chance for them to become a beacon of hope for all who have Fallen. But in order to do so, they must not stray from the path of absolution. However, this is easier said then done; for they must face challenges equal (or even greater) to those surmounted by the Guardians of Earth. The mercy of these challenges will be sparse, perhaps even nonexistent, and will litter every step of the way. Yet, if they stay determined and adhere to the path, they can become Legend. Design Note: Apologies for the flowery/hammy dialogue and melodramatic vernicular, and let me use this to get more to the point and speak layman. The Reclaimed's story is about Redemption, and is heavier on the cutscene and dialogue side to establish the characters and overall narrative.

Character Creation

I had created other face types for the female Eliksni, but none for the male. Since I didn't finish the male ones nor compile the female face types, I've decided not include them. Sorry..

The Envoy Class & Subclasses

" Redemption is not an easy path. But for those seeking for a second chance, it is the only path worth choosing."

The Reclaimed/Eliksni Guardian would only have access to one class-The Envoy Class. Why not let the players play as Eliksni Titans, Hunters, or Warlocks? There is multiple reasons for this:

  1. Despite being being bipeds, there is quite few differences between the shared model that Human, Awoken, and Exo characters. It would be much more time consuming and resource draining to create new armor for Eliksni characters for 3 classes.

  2. it allows me to create and focus on creating an exclusive jack-of-all trades class with unique subclasses that all perform differently.

  3. Simply put, for story and lore reasons.

Here's an overview of the Envoy class:

Envoys are Fallen chosen to be reborn in the Light and reclaim their what they lost by a different means from their kin. While the City is wary of accepting them into the fold with every other Guardian, they've found themselves serving and protecting the Reef under the banner of House Judgment. Envoys now serve a greater purpose for the greater good of all (including their redeeming their fallen kin). If the Eliksni ever wish to return to a semblance of their grand era and shake off the name Fallen, then the Envoys are the step in right direction. Envoys are fierce warriors, just as fierce as the Human, Exo, and Awoken Guardians who come from Earth. They are well-rounded in all regards in combat and must be, for if they are not the Darkness will swallow the new Light bestowed upon them.

The Envoy class will be the only current class available to the Eliksni race as they do not have the same orders or disciplines (Or model archetypes) as the Titans, Warlocks, or Hunters. What differs them from the other classes then? Subclass adaptability.

With Titans having focus on Armor, Warlocks on Recovery, and Hunters on Agility, the Envoy are a jack-of-all-trades class, not excelling in one particular stat area but being well-rounded in Armor, Recovery, and Agility. (Though the chosen stat mods may adjust them to be better at one particular field.)

All Envoy subclasses start with the following stats:

  • 2 Agility
  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Recovery

The melee ability used by Envoys is Thrash:

" Deny the advances of your enemy, Yes? Strike them away, let them know the back of your hand."

The Envoy class uses the Thrash attack as their base melee-ability. In a nutshell, Thrash has the Envoy violently slap the enemy with the back of their hand.

The Envoy class is proficient with Pulse Rifles and Sidearms.

The class armor for the Envoy class are Grafts: *" When an Eliksni of dreg status has their docking caps removed, the process to regrow his lower arms is long and painful.

Even with more rations of Ether, these new arms may take months to come to fruition as useful and strong, yes? However, some take another route.

They choose to forge new arms of alloy, composite, and wiring. Arms that do not ache in pain, tremble in fear, nor tire in the same way the old arms did. These arms too can be replaced or repaired easier, yes?

These new Grafts may better, but they can never replace the sensation of the old limbs. Sometimes, the pain we felt is was as much a comfort as it was the opposite."*

The Envoy class was original going to use a class armor called Guises which were sort of modified Cloaks. However, at the last moment, I decided it would be more fitting if their class armor worked in regards to their lower arms and cybernetics. So Grafts were created.

The subclasses for the Envoy class are the following:

(Click the subclass names for a full view of the subclasses)

However, if you'd like a complete overview, here is a document with all the relevant data of the Envoy class and subclasses.

Story & Missions

In The Reclaimed, Players will take control of The Reclaimed, an Eliksni warrior from the Reef Wars chosen by their very own Ghost to be reborn and imbued with spark of Light from the Traveler. The Reclaimed will start at a Level 20, but without any of their subclasses unlocked.

To obtain their subclasses, they must complete the prologue mission and see Variks who will give them a quest to unlock their powers by defeating specific Taken enemies in the Prison of Elders.

Once obtained, each of the subclasses will have one grenade node, their base jump ability, their base melee ability, and base super unlocked.

The Reclaimed will have access to the Vestian Outpost as their Hubworld upon completion of their first mission. The Reclaimed will not have access to the Tower until the completion of all 20 story missions. That being said, everything The Reclaimed will need for their journey will be available at the Vestian Outpost. Both Variks and Petra will offer Lower end & Higher End Gear as players controlling the Reclaimed will be mainly be ranking up the House Judgement and Queen's Wrath factions. (they can also obtain legendary Queen's Wrath weapons and legendary House of Judgment weapons from new frame vendors.A House of Judgment Quartermaster and Queen's Wrath Quatermaster.

The Reclaimed can still rank up Vanguard and Crucible factions by completing Bounties provided by Berg 99-40. The Reclaimed will not have access to any of the baseline story missions that were available to the Hunter, Warlock, and/or Titan or any of the story missions from The Dark Below, House of Wolves, Taken King, or Rise of Iron Expansions. Likewise the aforementioned classes will not have access to the missions reserved exclusively for The Reclaimed. The Reclaimed's Daily Heroic will pulled from the pool of 19 missions exclusive to them.

However, The Reclaimed will have access to every available Strike, Prison Of Elders, Raid, Crucible, Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris that will let them play alongside non-Eliksni Guardians. ( Rewards may vary)

The Reclaimed's Story Missions will offer a higher-difficulty and dynamic structure to the main game. As stated before, The Reclaimed will start out at the Reef and finishing the 3 Missions there will open a mission on Mars, Venus, Earth, and The Moon. From this point, the player can choose which part of the Reclaimed's story toward Redemption they'd like to complete first.

Each Planet will have 3 story missions in total, Completing the 1st Mission will unlock the second, and completing the 2nd Mission will unlock the 3rd and final Mission for that Planet. Completing one of the four planets will make the subsequent planets tougher than before. So players must choose wisely! Upon completing the stories on Mars, Venus, Earth, and The Moon, players will unlock the final 4 story missions upon the Dreadnought, facing their toughest missions yet. After the Completion of all these missions, The Reclaimed will have access to The Tower, All Strikes, The Daily Heroics, The Weekly Strikelist, The Weekly Nightfall, All Raids, Prison Of Elders, Daily Sieges and any other PVE Activities. The Reclaimed will need only to complete the Prologue Mission to have access to The Crucible activities ( barring those of required Light Levels like Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris if the minimum Light Level is not reached.)

The Story Missions of The Reclaimed would also feature substantially more cinematics that would be crucial to the plot as a whole. Cutscenes could appear pre-mission, post mission, or during a mission depending what part of the story is playing.

Here is an overview of the story missions:

(I may edit the overview of all the missions in here later.)

The Reclaimed also features Heroic versions of the Story Missions that not only have increased Light Level (240 base) but also additional enemy behaviors or conditions to increase overall difficulty. However, each of the Heroic versions of these missions have exclusive rewards in the form of unique Legendary Armor, Weapons, a Sparrow, or Ship. These special gear have a 10% chance to drop at the end of any successful completion of Heroic Mission and 25% Chance to drop on a Daily Heroic Mission. This incentivizes players to play these missions again to attain these items.

While I was unable to finish illustrations and details for the Heroic Mission exclusive armor, I was able to do it for the weapons

Here they are:

Exotics

The following are exotic armor (exclusive the Envoy Class) exotic weapons from the Reclaimed:

Exotic Armor:

(Apologies for the quality of these illustrations, I created them a while back)

Exotic Weapons (Plus one Legendary Class specific weapon):

(There were two more exotic weapons I didn't get to design, though I had their perks and stats laid out, these were Double Dosage Primary, dual sidearms and Lil' Cricket a full-auto sidearm.)

The Major Bosses:

With the Reclaimed's focus on the story, each planet/location would have exclusive bosses that provide their own unique challenge.

There was a few I was unable to design for various reasons BUT I was able to lay out the visuals and design info for the core bosses. They are as follows:

New Patrol Zone - Fortuna Plummet

[ Fortuna Plummet - Patrol Zone ]

Upon completing The storyline for The Reclaimed, the patrol zone Fortuna Plummet with open up for Eliksni and nonEliksni Guardians alike.

"Fortuna Plummet is known among the Reef as the remnants of asteroids 19 Fortuna and 687 Tinette that were destroyed by the Gravity weapon Carybidis during the Reef Wars.

Although both asteroids were destroyed, their mutual destruction created and opened upon a plethora of new ruins ready to be explored.

For a while, these ruins were off limits and restricted from outsiders. However, recent events involving the Queen's return has granted permission to her new Eliksni allies and Guardians of the Last City to enjoy it's whatever treasure they can find.

However, in her majesty's absence it seems others have entered the Fortuna Plummet in hopes of looting it: Remnants of the Cabal invasion force, Vex chronal gates have been spotted, Hive warriors from the Dreadnaught, and even Taken abominations linger here all hoping to claim this ruin as their own.

*You must tell them otherwise." *

Fortuna's Plummet is a patrol zone in the Reef about the size of the Dreadnaught. Players cannot use their personal vehicles here BUT in exchange have access to a new patrol area with lower gravity for movement mode shenanigans.

Also, every enemy faction in the game (barring Frames and Fallen) can be found here vying for territory and resources.

( Riches Of The Reef)

When visiting Fortuna Plummet, players will come across two types of chests: War Chests and Regal Chests.

War Chests belong to the enemy factions in the Reef and are the most common in 19 Fortuna. They can contain:

  • Glimmer x250

  • Ammo Synths of all varieties

  • Weapon Telemetries

  • Strange Coins

  • Planetary Materials from different planets.(Wormspore, Spirit Bloom, Relic Iron, etc.)

  • Encrypted Engrams

  • Treasure Keys.

Regal Chests on the other hand can only be open with Treasure Keys and contain even more valuable rewards such as:

  • Glimmer x1000

  • Royal Amethysts

  • Legendary Engrams

  • Queen's Guard Weapons

  • House of Judgement Weapons

  • Royal Amethyst Ghost Shell

  • Legendary Artifacts

  • Legendary Ship Blueprints

  • The Sovereign's Key

In this list you'll notice an item called The Sovereign's Key, this is a special item that is used to unlock an area in Fortuna's Plummet known The Chamber of Fortuity.

This Chamber houses 5 Regal Chests that do not require Treasure Keys to open, and opening the first one will grant players the " Relic Of The Nine" if they do not possess it in their inventory.

( Favor Of the Queen )

Upon completing the full story campaign of The Reclaimed, Prince Uldrin will appear in the Vestian Outpost at the request of his sister.

Uldrin will offer special, weekly Crow bounties that award enormous amounts of Queen's Wrath reputation, Legendary Engrams, and a chance for the "Wethered Rifle" item for the exotic weapon Wyrmseeker.

Crow bounties will have the player perform different tasks for completion in Fortuna's Plummet.

Quests (Epilogue)

After completing the main story of the Reclaimed, there are questlines that will open up afterwards offering varying rewards. (Exotics, Legendaries, etc.) These are the post game story quests with the basic summary and rewards for each.

(There may be a few more I am forgotting about and if so I'll ad them in later.)

New Enemy Types:

The Reclaimed would have new enemy-types for every enemy faction in the game, barring the Hive. They are as follows:

[Fallen]

  • Flamer Shank

A new type of Shank recently seen spotted across the Cosmodrome during the recent developments of Fallen activity. Stockier in frame with large fuel rods on the back of their carapace, what Flamer Shanks lack in speed they make up for by spraying searing hot jets of Solar flames up to 5 meters that can melt and char just about any solid material.

  • Heavy Shank

The S.A.B.E.R. - 1 was not a standalone unit, it was a prototype. The Vanguard has received multiple reports indicating that the House of Kings has allied with the House of Devils in the Plaguelands and is supplying them with dangerous new technology...one of them being Heavy Shanks. Although not as heavily armored or armed as Walker Tanks, or possessing as many armaments as the S.A.B.E.R., Heavy Shanks make up for this by being more readily available and able for mass production.

[Cabal]

  • Cabal Venator

A Cabal Venators are melee specialist of the Cabal forces outfitted to flush enemies out of cover with jump-jets, a Vacuum Mace, and more health than the standard Cabal soldier. These units do not travel alone, as they will be closing the distance between them and the target whilst their comrades lay suppressive fire. Guardians are advised to deal with them first before a Venator's mace comes down on their heads.

  • Cabal Technicians

Cabal Technicians are lightly armored and lightly armed units, but Guardians shouldn't take them lightly. They have special arrays built into the back of their armor that will jam hostile sensors and are able and willing to deploy automatic, rapid fire Sentinel Turrets to eradicate belligerents in seconds.

  • Hellion Mech

Standing upwards of 10 feet tall on two legs, covered in multi-resistant armor, and armed with a devastating, continuous Arc Beam; the Hellion Mech was designed to intimidate just as well as it kills. Built as an enforcer where Goliath Tanks are too big to go and regular foot-soldiers do not provide enough power, the Hellion fits the in-between role nicely and many of these platforms have ordered to the Sol System along World Bender reinforcements. Whilst Hellions are fearsome automatons, they are far from invincible. Their legs and joints have less resistance to small arms due to their lighter plating, and their have thermal vents that are exposed during the firing of their Arc Beam.

[Vex]

  • Vex Sphinx

A never seen before Vex variant, both Vanguard and Queen's Guard experts are puzzled by it's sudden arrival and great deviation from other Vex units. Code-naming these units, Sphinxes, these Vex are fast moving quadrupeds that look like old Earth big cats. Substantially faster and more agile than their bipedal counterparts, scouts who survived encountered with these automatons noted the lack of thick armor plating & ranged armaments. Instead, these beastial vex lunge and pounce at their foes and attack with sharp claws surging with Arc energy. All though they share a "juicebox" like other units, putting a bullet or other projectile is quite a bit more difficult to do because of their body design. The Vanguard and Queen's Guard highly recommend killing these new variants first before taking on any other Vex units...or else they may take down Guardians.

  • Vex Centaur

Another new Vex variant, this type of Vex seems to have the upper chassis of a Minotaur variant but a unique quadrupedal lower body. Now named the Centaur, these Vex seem to try and combine the speed of a quadruped with the durability of a Minotaur unit. Centaur's wield some sort of scattergun-type weapon that emits flares of charged Solar particles. Luckily these weapons have a short-range, though with their lower body, Centaurs maybe able to close that distance.

[Taken]

  • Taken Harpy

In addition to the base abilities normal Vex Harpies have, Taken Harpies can project a beam of light that will hold Guardians in place. However, Guardians will still have the ability to freely move their view and shoot. Successfully landing hits on Taken Harpies will immediately cancel this hindering ability and freeing the Captive Guardian.

  • Taken Dreg

In addition to the main behavior of the normal Dreg, Taken Dregs can initiate an ability that causes the affected target to swap positions on the map (Players must within their line of sight, and must be no more than 6 meters away from Taken dregs for this to intiate.

  • Taken Legionary

*In addition to the main behavior of the normal Legionaries, the shots from a Taken Legionary's gun can poison targets, dealing slight damage overtime. *

[Warmind]

  • Battle Frames

Is Rasputin our ally or is he acting on his own self-survival protocols? While still hotly debated within the Consensus and Vanguard, it appears the recent Cabal reinforcements and incursion as well the previous events have triggered Rasputin to deploy a never seen before line of Battle Frames. Onyx-colored, and Welding Auto Rifles, these frames seem to lack any sort of personality outside aggression to all nonhuman threats. Armor-plated and tireless, these frames are far more frightening then ones seen elsewhere...However only seem to defending or securing areas that may be valuable to the Warmind.

Armor Sets: _

So while I didn't get to complete the armor sets for the Envoy class, I did create a base that I could use to illustrate them.

You can find that here: http://imgur.com/k6JnAhj

If any artist out there would like to use it to create their own Eliksni Guardian/Enovy armor sets, feel free!

Here's an example I made with the prototype of the Perfected Armor Sets.

So that's The Reclaimed, my little pipe dream. (Barring a few tidbits I will be adding in later...but since it's late as I am writing this, I will post what I have. Sorry about that!)

What do you all think? I'd love to hear your thoughts and feelings on the matter. Community feedback would be most appreciated! (Edits and formatting will be incoming tomorrow and perhaps the next few days.)

Thanks in advance.

What is Tier 12?

Tier 12 is is any combination of 2 maxed stats (Tier 5) (Intellect/Discipline/Strength) and 1 stat that is Tier 2. (Also you can have all stats at Tier 4 and this still classifies as Tier 12).

  1. Each Stat (Int, Disc, Str) has a possible total number of 300. Anything over that is a waste of stats.
  2. The max points you can have total is 743 (All stats added together from Helmets, Chest Armor etc...).
  3. The max we can use right now is 720 (Tier 12).
  4. With this being said, the actual minimum % for Tier 12 is 96.9% (720/743). I list 96% and above because you can still obtain Tier 12 with 96% because of stat distribution. In order to figure out what you actually need, use this to figure it out. (Just download and only fill out the gray areas.

Tier Cooldowns

Type Tier 0 Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4 Tier 5
Super A 5:00 4:46 4:31 4:15 3:58 3:40
Super B 5:30 5:14 4:57 4:39 4:20 4:00
Grenade 1:00 0:55 0:49 0:42 0:34 0:25
Standard Melee 1:00 0:55 0:49 0:42 0:34 0:25
Slow Melee 1:10 1:04 0:57 0:49 0:40 0:29

Intellect (Super cooldown time)

Subclasses with Super A:

  • Defender
  • Nightstalker
  • Striker
  • Sunsinger

All other subclasses use the Super B cooldown times.

Discipline (Grenade cooldown time)

All subclasses share the same Standard cooldown time for grenades.

Strength (Melee cooldown time)

All subclasses share the same Standard cooldown time for their melee.

For the exception of the following classes, that use the Slow Melee cooldown time:

  • Nightstalker
  • Gunslinger

How to get the %:

First what are the numbers you are looking for?

Type Max Roll Node Active Total
Helmet 46 65 111
Gauntlets 41 58 99
Chest Armor 61 86 147
Leg Armor 56 79 135
Class Item 25 35 60
Ghost 25 35 60
Artifact 38 81 119
Artifact (Int/Disc)1 38 94 132

Footnote:
1. Int/Disc Artifacts gain a boost to Disc Stats (up to 13 extra points)

How to get the info:

Let's use this for an example

Vendor Name Type % Int Disc Str Perk 1 Perk 2
Crucible Raku Gwener Type 1 Chest Armor 96% 60/85 57/82 - Pulse Rifle/Sniper Rifle Ammo Solar Recovery/Solar Armor
  1. We will add these two to get the total: 60/85 + 57/82 or 85+57=142. Pick the highest number on one stat (85) and add the lowest number on the other stat (57).
  2. Since the max for Chest Armor is 147, we will use this equation 142/147=96.59 or 96% (round down to use the low end to be safe stat wise for T12 builds).

NLB newbie guide

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 11:52 AM PST

This is my first ever weapon video/guide. I want to state that I am no PVP god. Im average at best. However, i have spent many hours playing the No Land and wanted to share some tips I wish i had known when starting out

  1. Your KD will suck. DO NOT WORRY. I spent almost a month with this gun before I got back to my normal 1.0 kd. You cant let that keep you from using this gun.
  2. Theres a small ^ on your screen when sprinting. Use it to land hip fired shots when up close.
  3. The lack of scope hinders you at long range do not try and challenge traditional snipers but it shines up close or mid range
  4. Put yourself in uncomfortable distances that you wouldnt normally not be in with other snipers
  5. If an enemy is airborne aim for their feet and let them fall into your reticle
  6. Do not stay aiming down your sights. It inhibits your FOV. Only ADS if you are behind cover and make sure your sights are head level so when you break cover you can immediately get a headshot
  7. Get the feel of Swipe Sniping This imo is the hardest yet useful skill to have for any sniper especially the NLB. Every map for the most part is small and enemies are all around you. Having the ability to get kills while minimizing you ads time is pivotal.

Here is a full skirmish match with commentary. Add me on psn if you ever want to practice. This game is so much fun and one the best parts is interacting and helping with others

Id also appreciate any constructive criticism regard video editing or post formatting

Edit: u/tjcurbstopmz thanks for reminding me that will be a red dot on the tip of the reticles triangle when it's on an enemies head

Blink

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 04:09 AM PST

I just needed to get this out here. Blink is such a damn mess now. I used it today for the first time in months, and felt handicapped. If you have played with blink post patch then you know the feeling. It is SOOOO punishing right now. Blink, and if u aim it wrong, you have no idea of what is going on around you. Blink in the right direction and probably still have no idea because everything is disabled. The only time blink is useful is to either escape an engagement. This has not changed since before the patch. So what does this say? The nerf was pointless. Simple as that.Long story short, you shouldnt be penalised for choosing a different movement option.

Weekly heroic strikes are much mo better with arc burn defense armor and everyone can easily obtain a chest piece with this perk

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 09:26 AM PST

Iron Armor Chest package from Rise of Iron record book always rolls arc defense armor, for all three classes.

Someone smarter than me can tell you how much defense it gives you but I believe it makes arc do normal damage instead of 2x damage but that could be wrong. All I know is that it makes facing the hive way the fuck easier.

You're welcome!

EDIT - Rofl-Cakes has cleared up the mystery on arc burn damage. It goes from 3x to 2x. Thanks you Rofl-Cakes!

EDIT 2 - Rofl-Cakes was living in the past but has been corrected. Km219 is the REAL MVP. Sorry Cakes you have been benched.

Does anyone raid without looking up guides first?

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 10:53 AM PST

As far as I'm concerned, Destiny's raid content is the best thing about the game. But it doesn't last all that long. A few weeks after each raid's release everyone seems to be familiar, and we get into the process of grinding for the best gear before the next content drops.

I'd love to take an entirely different approach to Destiny 2, and avoid all spoilers about raid mechanics, and explore the content with a group of players who shared the same attitude.

Approaching the content without any preparation is something I've done in many MMOs, with likeminded friends, but I don't see it discussed much when it comes to Destiny.

I've also enjoyed the exploration and experimentation that comes with a new boss fight, and don't like it being explained to me. It seems to remove half of the challenge, making completing the encounter a simple test of mechanics.

Has anyone seen a matchmaking site or clan that caters to those who want to raid spoiler free? I'd love to tackle Destiny 2 this way.

Who's got the most saved up engrams for April?

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 11:29 AM PST

So far I have in my vault:

22 Exotic Weapon (6 P, 6 S, 10 H)

22 Legendary Weapon (7 P, 5 S, 10 H)

30 Exotic Gear (10 H, 6 G, 9 C, 5 B)

24 Sublime Gear (2 H, 5 G, 3 C, 7 B, 7 Class)

If I have room I'll start saving Legendary gear ones as well. Who's got the most? I know for ROI there were people that hand over 100 easily.

Luke Smith posted a few tweets tonight. (Nothing INSANE)

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 09:40 PM PST

Luke: Too many good games No time to play them all, Sad! Maybe at year's end

Twitter User: @thislukesmith do you have time to explain why you don't have time to play games?

Luke: Yeah I gave a gun to some person who listens to a tiny robot teleported away and my story ended

Twitter User: @thislukesmith won't you be busy working on the next D2 DLC by the end of the year?? No rest for you, sorry 😀

Luke: negative once we wrap this project, it'll be a long time before I ship anything again rest i must

Nothing too crazy, but a few people were getting excited reading the tweets. I definitely raised an eyebrow over the "story ended" and "long time before I ship anything again..."

Maybe it's nothing at all but it's 5:38am here and I need to goto work. RIP

May your spinfoil hats sit well.

Remember the leaked "roadmap" for D1? Bungie should embrace it for D2

Posted: 20 Feb 2017 05:50 PM PST

by "embrace it" I mean, they should release it to us, THEMSELVES.

seriously. The biggest gripe I see from this reddit, directly or indirectly comes back to communication.

Communication is key. and the leaked roadmap was all we had to go on 90% of the time for D1.

Please bungie, we get it, this game is mysterious- it has many secrets, but please don't be so damn cryptic anymore. Just give a general idea of what the plan is, that would keep us all happy.

You don't have to tell us 'THE AHAMKARA ARE ACTUALLY THE WYRMS AND SO WE'RE DIVING INTO THAT" we don't need THAT MUCH detail just tell us WHATS GOIN ON "we're working on a sick ass cabal expansion that'll we'll maybe release" "Sweet!"

"we're thinking about making a new playable area near saturn" "OMFG SO HYPE" like you're not gonna get angry players you're gonna get an even more excited and more involved fanbase. Let our theories run wild while you withhold the details.

we're not looking for promises. "Vex Void" didn't happen and we didn't rage against you. Just give us an idea "hey these are some of the things we're maybe thinking of doing" that's it! Just give us an IDEA of where we're headed, and that you're working on stuff.

ILY Bungie but... the overly-cryptic way of doing things is getting old. Just be honest with us. Especially when you make a mistake, don't act like "some people like it" just own up that unintended things happen sometimes, and that you'll fix it.

Just. Be. Honest. With. Us.
