[ASSASSINS] God Class Discussion Megathread - Week of January 30, 2017

Welcome to /r/Smite's weekly God Class Discussion Megathread. This is a place for the community to get together and discuss, theorycraft, and ask for help on playing each class.

This week we are focusing on ASSASSINS.

Some ideas to get you started might include:

  • Tips and advice for playing any or all Assassins
  • Good builds, bad builds, and everything in between
  • What roles in each gamemode to play Assassins in
  • Where Assassins fit into the meta
  • Buffs or nerfs you would make and why
  • Questions about the gods or class as a whole

And anything else you can think of!

montages, and gameplay dont get many upvotes despite people working really hard on them. rants complaints and bug reports get all the upvotes

This happened today. At the time I took this screenshot I was already level 12. Those were Ra's items when I ulted into him. My name never came back, I was Ra - The Morrigan until the end of the game. My items wouldn't show up (or their stats). Even if I got kills or got killed my score was still 0-0-0.

Yesterday I ulted into a Thanatos, but when I used Thana's ult my target select screen came up and I couldn't close it nor land the Thana ult until it expired.

Why can't you pre-select a god for your ult if you're out of mana? Or if your ult is on cooldown? Why do you even pre-select a target if quick and instant casting aren't working? Also, when you return to your normal body it's a gamble how long it will take for your abilities to be available again. Sometimes it's instant, sometimes it takes up to 2 seconds.

So why doesn't HiRez just take the god out of live client and fix it for good? If they won't properly fix 1 god, what will happen with all the changes of season 4 and the bugs those will bring too?

So, What IS the New 'Meta' Start?

I've been away from streams for the past weekend, but from what I understand, the meta is basically back to a 2 -1 - 2 start, with wave push and early game fighting being very important. Solo side rushes to clear and contest elementals, duo side rushes and contests harpies or invades buffs. Is this about right?

Played a VERY strange Assault match today (PS4)

At the time I was queueing, Smite was being very glitchy for me. I got put in an Assault lobby, then after the game not loading past the lobby for a few minutes, I was suddenly requeued and put in a new lobby. Then, while I was in the second lobby, I was suddenly loading back into the FIRST match, and on the loading screen I could see it was 3v1. It was all very strange, and the guy by himself ended up surrendering.

The state of the custom builder is not good.

This is what the custom builder looks like, six rows and four columns, but the custom build slot in the store has five rows and six columns, which means that you always have two empty slots in the store and that one entire row of the custom builder does not even show up in the store, it seams like such an oversight. I know it is not the most important thing when it comes to smite especially with season four around the corner but it just bugs me a lot.
