An Idea for Halo 6 Forge: Seamless Teleporters.
Posted: 22 Dec 2016 03:49 PM PST
I saw /u/Deraeik's Non-Euclidean design a little while ago, and started thinking of the possibilities it creates. I quickly realized that the addition of a seamless teleporter would open up much more potential for forge maps, in numberous ways. It allows you to enter different environments with impossible geometry, sort of like the first example, but it also allows Non-Euclidean level design without environment changes, such as /u/Deraeik example, or the game Antichamber.
The aspect of walking from one half the map to another seamlessly without the distance would be extraordinary, and it would put an interesting twist on maps such as Beaver Creek. It's not just about the ability to see a player or environment on the other side, though, it's also about the possibilities introduced with teleporting projectiles, and the potential it would have with scripting.
It may be a pipe-dream, but it could be worth exploring as it could be a utilizable resource for 343 as well, possibly for the campaign. Hopefully it's not an unreasonable idea, but I lack the coding experience to attest its developmental worth.

How to make REQ packs more rewarding - and therefore get more people to buy them
Posted: 22 Dec 2016 11:21 AM PST
The issue with packs right now is one of stagnation. Currently, new users are forced into two scenarios, both of which initially suck:
1.) Try to get what you actually want by deciding whether to spend RP or $ on your choice of Gold, Silver, or Bronze packs
2.) Realize that #1 is a waste of time and therefore be forced into unlocking all of the useless you don't want (or maybe you do) before you get even a chance to get what you want. This is done by unlocking all Bronze level items, then Silver, and then Gold.
Number 1 is a waste of money and #2 requires ~300-600 hours to do. Sounds terrible.
---------- The Solution ----------
It's actually extremely simple to fix this crap. I shall show the unlocks:
Bronze Pack - Common
Silver Pack - Uncommon, Rare
Gold - Ultra Rare, Legendary/Mythic
That's it. The issue right now is that, if you don't have all of the uncommon unlocks (for example), purchasing a Gold pack could give you a worthless uncommon unlock that you obviously don't want, because if you wanted an uncommon unlock you'd buy a damn Silver pack!
It can be up for debate how the packs administer the individual cards based on rarity (either through the current system or by the same standards I imposed on unlocks).
It can also be up for debate how that changes the relative prices of the packs themselves, because being guaranteed an Ultra Rare unlock or better is much more valuable than current Gold packs which run the risk of Uncommon unlocks.
Tl;dr - When I buy a damn Gold pack I don't want Uncommon unlocks! If I did, I would buy a Silver pack!
