It's been over a year since the last round of moderator applications were released, and with Ultimate quickly approaching, we figured it's time to add some new blood into our pool of people. Over the past few months, /r/smashbros has been growing at an insanely quick rate. In order to effectively keep up with this growth, we are looking for moderators who can be active on a consistent basis. We are also looking for mods in European and Australian time zones, as they can moderate at times most other moderators can not cover. Your job as a moderator would include: Removing posts that violate the subreddit's rules. Checking for unflaired posts and reminding users to flair them. Assisting users by pointing them towards helpful resources. Participating in discussion with other moderators on Discord. We generally want mods who: Understand Reddit on a functional level. Mods should be able to correctly format their posts and comments. Are able to exercise good judgement. Can speak their minds, even when faced with opposing opinions and downvotes. Have solid written communication skills. Understand the rules of /r/smashbros and general reddiquette. Enjoy helping others, even if the question is mundane or has an obvious answer. Are active on Discord. Almost all communication between /r/smashbros' moderators occurs on Discord; if you are not able to use Discord frequently, you will not be considered a valid candidate for moderator. Ideally, moderator applicants should have an active Reddit account that is at least a year old. Though exceptions can be made, experience with Reddit is one of the most invaluable positives that an applicant can have. Who else is really glad they brought back the same splash screens from Sm4sh? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 03:51 PM PDT When Brawl was coming out, I remember that the thing with new fighters was always "X character joins the Brawl!", which is cool, but then in sm4sh, part of the cool factor was everyone getting their own unique intro screen ("Greninja makes a Splash!", "PAC-MAN hungers for battle!", "Cloud storms into battle!", etc). An important detail that I think a lot of people have forgotten about the fighter ballot Posted: 01 Sep 2018 05:40 PM PDT ...is that the ballot specifically asks for your gender. That being said, do you think that Sakurai is going to include some characters that specifically scored high among the female ballot results? Sakurai's whole philosophy is to make Smash enjoyable to as wide a demographic as possible, and I can't really think of any other reason to ask for your gender. CaptainZack opens up about his retirement Posted: 01 Sep 2018 02:43 AM PDT https://twitter.com/CaptainZack_/status/1035789483264946176 after a while, playing bayonetta was just not fun anymore. i could hardly even play the game without thinking about literally everything. i would choose to not witch time because i know how frustrating the move is, and i would try and not kill people off the top because of how bad i felt. after shine i just really didn't want to play the game anymore. i ended up talking about it a lot with mistake and played a lot with him. i came to the conclusion that i really do enjoy the game, but when i play bayonetta i just cant enjoy it. so im going to become a peach/rosa/whoever main for the remainder of smash 4 and the events im going to. i hope we can all have fun! thank you submitted by /u/SC_Red [link] [comments]

So I know this might come off as a hype-circlejerk post but ever since it's reveal and the latest direct I've been super excited for Smash Ultimate. I've preordered it and I constantly discuss it with my friend who is also excited. While that is normal, what I feel isn't is that I spend a lot of time watching reactions to Smash reveals like Ridley, K. Rool, etc., and sometimes I rewatch reactions I've already seen.
