Hearthstone - Exodia Priest in action

Exodia Priest in action

My dumb idea for a combo worked out way better than I could ever have imagined.

I have an old computer, the game runs smooth as silk, the problem is that at the damn menu I get like 0.1 FPS which is ridiculous because it's just a stupid wooden box, but somehow it is harder to render than the entire game

Been playing for years, i figured somebody could relate. I don't understand how a wooden box has a higher graphical demand than anything in the game, so maybe tone back the wooden box a little bit because i'm at the lowest settings and 0.1 FPS is frustrating with over 10 seconds delay just to go from one sub-menu to the next when the rest of the game runs perfectly

After hearing about hearthstone I downloaded it on my Iphone and it's the first game I've played since the likes of spyro and quake. Just played through the story and finally defeated that bastard illian stormrage on my third attempt and wow this game is fun and captivating.

How would we feel if Blizzard said "no nerfs needed" this cycle?

Posted: 31 Aug 2018 02:57 AM PDT

We're nearly a month into the expansion now, which means not that far from the 'mid-expansion balance changes' that we're used to having. But unlike the last three expansions, there seems to be very little consensus on what, if anything, really needs to be nerfed.

Giggling Inventor seems to be the most often brought up card, mostly it seems because of its popularity, but I don't think there is anything approaching a consensus that it needs to be nerfed. In fact you could make the argument that it performs an important function in the meta of keeping raw aggro strategies in check, much like Sludge Belcher did back in the day. And there is strong counterplay in the form of Mossy Horror and Blood Knight if needed.

Beyond Giggles where would we be looking? The much-hyped Druid cards have mostly fallen flat in comparison to what was expected. And I don't think there is much appetite to nerf things like Carnivorous Cube or Hench Clan Thug. And there are a lot of viable decks right now, so any nerf could even make the meta worse by having the unintended consequences of causing something to become more dominant as a weak matchup is removed.

Which then got me thinking is there a possibility that the balance team look at the meta and just say "It's fine - no nerfs needed"? And if so, how would we feel about that? While obviously the primary purpose of the mid-expansion nerfs has been to curtail dominant classes, decks and archetypes, it also has the secondary benefit of "freshening things up". When I considered that no nerfs might be needed, rather than being pleased at the healthy state of the meta, I was actually quite disappointed that the 'shake up' I was used to might not happen. But on the other hand I don't want things nerfed just for the sake of it. Obviously it's a nice problem to have, but it still got me thinking.

Do people think this is a likely scenario and if so, how would you feel about it and what do you feel would be the best course of action?

Here's a streamer who deleted cthun in a cthun warlock after noticing that playing anodizers after depleting his deck was enough to let literally every opponent concede

I know this won't mean much to most of you but my best friend is on vacation so I have no one to tell. Playing since the beta but never tried to get a good rank. This season I decided to try to get to legend and well, today after losing to the endboss for 6 times, sweat and tears I got to Legend :D

The druid was afk so I decided to make a big minion. That was a fun game.

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 09:14 PM PDT

I always greet my opponent and I swear 9/10 won't say anything back. Is it just the nature of this game? Hell, even in dark souls most people will give a wave back.

A plea to the community

Posted: 31 Aug 2018 10:02 AM PDT

If you win a ranked game as control mage against me because the last card in your deck was a scroll of wonders, generated by a deck of wonders you pulled from primordial glyph, and it casts mind vision, stealing out of the eight cards in my hand the mecha'thun I had taken from my "discover a mech" hero power earlier in the game as an insurance win condition, and you manage to empty your hand before I do

please

just accept my fucking friend request

All I want to do is talk to my opponent about how crazy that game was. That's what's so fun about card games, and what gives hearthstone the potential to be more fun than any physical card game ever could. In the moment that you played your last card we shared something

namely, my mecha'thun

and I just want to talk about that, and bond with you

so please, I know you've all had bad experiences with being added after games. But I'm just asking everyone to give the community another chance. This game could be so much better for it

idk

I'll never forget you, Varok
