Only new to STW. Long time player of BR. However earning v bucks on this mode i was going to grind this mode for the v bucks, to spend on skins in BR. However due to me having loads of fun on STW, and learning about this mode every day... I ended up buying llamas instead.. Looks like im not going back to BR anytime soon.

Yo my dudes... The positive feedback is awesome. Im playing on PS4... My gamertag is LFC_Fryzie.. Like i said I'm new to this mode, but if you wanna have a laugh and a piss take hit me up.. Thanks lads and lasses for all the comments and suggestions..

Since i bought stw during the sale i was always playing soldiers, got a purple version of this guy and increased the rarity and absolutely love the pistol damage. The founder’s revolt is insane. By far my favourite hero. 10/10 recommend.

People that run around activating survivors are the worst people to play with

Literally morons. There's always at least one. I've started doing survivor missions solo.

Had 1 guy who literally activated 4 survivors and went past them all and they all died.

If you notice someone doing this at the start of the mission. Just leave.

*Edit - it's usually clowns farming storm chests

PC and Mac Patch

We've just released an update for PC and Mac that contains performance improvements including a fix for long load times. There's no downtime but you may need to restart your game to catch the update.

UPDATE: Looks like people are still experiencing the long load issues. We're looking into this.

"Mega Alerts" are mega suck

why convert from 3 types of 4 mans to one type?

outside of that single legend survivor yesterday, the rewards are total crap, it makes no sense

example:

  • 76 4 man data for 4x scheme xp (not even any evo mats)
  • 88 4 man repair for 76 epics and 4x reperks (a regular storm gives 76, with 10 cooldowns a day)
  • 100 4 man bomb for 80 legend and 4x hero xp

we need a new 3 per day cooldown for this? and lose the previous set up (alert/storm/vanilla)?

so far i've seen a legend surv, a leg defender and a trap as best rewards...

why not just add those things to the old 4 man alert/storm/vanilla setup?

am i missing something here?

Mega alerts are a nice addition, but they have ruined group missions for me. 4x rewards are great and I enjoy the new changes, but forcing every group mission to be a mega alert is a bad thing imo.

Since you can get legendary survivors as a reward, it isnt worth wasting one of your 3 alerts on additional xp. Also, all 4 player missions are now alerts lasting 6 hours, so you can't just wait 30 minutes for better rewards to rotate in. This means that a lot of group missions simply aren't worth playing anymore.

Many players in twine dont bother with normal missions since the addition of 4x anyway, and now people are ignoring those as well.

Last night I went to farm some survivor xp, but all the group missions in twine were giving hero or schematic xp, and I had to wait 6 hours for them to change. Instead of trying to wait around, I just logged off and went to play rocket league. I wanted to grind my last few levels to 125, but if this is how 4 player missions are now, I may have to find a new game to play.

Can we all agree Energy Cells and Energy Cell Weapons need changes/ a rework?

The most expensive to craft ammo is also the one that gets chewed through the fastest. This used to be a fair tradeoff- Energy Cell weapons used to guarantee and element, making the tradeoff not so bad. But now, because of the RePerk system, every normal gun can have any element you want. This inadvertently made Energy Cell weapons worse just because of their constant and expensive ammo consumption, and made it repellant to most players.

Now, I'm not saying they need to be removed, clearly Energy Cells make sense as ammo.. But if it doesn't get changes in not only it's ammo consumption, but also it's crafting requirements, it might just be an easier route to vault it all together. It's too impractical, and certain guns are made useless because of either or both of these factors. Vacuum Tube sniper is a great example. Very cool Sniper/AR hybrid, but every 2 clips costs 1 Bacon. That's ridiculous.

First things first, the Bacon has to go, and maybe have a little less ammo come out of it as a tradeoff. The Blast-powder could stay because that's not nearly as difficult to get as Bacon, and the same goes for Batteries. Maybe because of the other mats not getting changed, a Material can be thrown into it like the other ammo's crafting recipe have.

Here is my final suggestion:

Ammo: Energy Cell (x50) -5x Nuts N' Bolts -1x Battery -1x Blast Powder -3x Metal

Notice how little is changed, but how much more appealing it seems. Now, let's tackle the tough thing.

Because of it's variety of weapon types, Ammo consumption is very tricky. Because AR's use more Ammo then something like a Shotgun, what the STW dev team have done is made pretty much every ammo cost be as great as an AR's. TIOD is a great example: A Pistol that uses 7 Ammo a shot. The attempt at balancing it out makes sense because of the shared ammo pool, but it needs to be better.

Here is how I'd fix it:

Power Cell Max Capacity from 3000 to 5000.

Highest per-shot ammo consumption changed to a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4, and single shot Energy Cell weapon ammo is changed accordingly (TIOD from 7 to 4 for example)

Fire rate of AR's reduced by 1-2 and damage increased by 15% to compensate

Capacity increases as perks on heroes or the gun itself now round down for all Energy Cell weapons that use more than 1 bullet per shot

The capacity is to just help support the still prevalent ammo usage, and make it less of a concern. Single shot Energy Cell weapons are sort of broken overall rn, and are stupidly expensive. The FR change is to help guns like the Helium LMG or as mentioned before, the Vacuum Tube rifle be a little better with sustained fire, and the 15% damage increase is to compensate. As a shameless former BS main, I can tell you that it is so dumb that it rounds up, so this last change is a no brainer which also pairs well with the second change.

There is also another easy option of making Energy Cell Ammo infinite like Rockets, but making it's durability less. Maybe like a middle ground between normal weapons and Explosive weapons durability wise.

Here are my changes for this route:

Crafting of guns: Same price as explosives that uses Crystals instead of Ores, and 5x batteries included to the recipe

Durability of all weapons reduced by 70% (90 by the time it hits SS)

Damage increased across the board by 25%

The crafting changes for this route is to make it slightly more expensive than explosive to make up for the slightly higher durability of them, and adds more variety with the ShadowShard for it, and the Damage increase is to make the time with the weapon more impactful, as it will break much faster than a regular weapon.

Of course, I wouldn't want this route personally, but it is a definite option.

This is a discussion, so please discuss this further in the comment. As it stands, I think Energy Cells needing changes is a pretty popular opinion, but any opposing sides are welcomed, as they may shine light on some oversight.

TL;DR- Energy Cells are too expensive to craft and the Ammo usage of it is too high, and with RePerk making it's tradeoff nearly useless, changes are needed.

What's with all the BR hate

I understand BR is prioritised by epic, and it can be annoying- but it just makes business sense to prioritise your most popular product.

Also hating on the BR community because they are prioritised is pathetic, sure some people in that community are toxic, but so are the people in this community who call BR fans 'BRats'.

Just remember next time that BR players are people too, and hating a community because they're game us interrupted is just going to make the fan base worse. If you have to complain, direct it at epic in a civil msnner

Visually, the game was a sight for sore eyes. Often I just looked at the map and think of how beautiful this game actually is.

With the new FoV changes it looks like I'm playing this game while looking through a spyglass.

Gameplay-wise, these new changes have also deteriorated my experience with the game. The aiming is off, I've been getting headaches and it just ruined the immersion this game had.

I've made many posts begging for FoV changes and none of them have had a response from an employee at EPIC. Keep in mind that all my posts concerning this were in the HOT section of this subreddit.

This will be my final post, and I truly hope EPIC will give us an option to go back to the older FoV

Traps no longer needed.....or walls neither

Epic REALLY f*ked up the game by decreasing the difficulty of non 4p missions and ssd. Any defensive type mission near your PL or below can now be solo'd without building a single wall or setting a single trap....SOLO. I had just watched David Dean's latest video. He recorded himself successfully completing an RTL mission. No walls, no traps....solo. He was playing an outlander and chose not to even pickup a fragment. He did this using his new low level account. I wanted to test it in Twine and just now easily did the same on two RTL missions, PL94 & PL100, maining Enforcer Grizz. I'm PL100. My guess is that with minimal trapping a fairly strong player could also solo 4P PL100 defensive type missions. I mean WTF Epic? On the bright side, AFKers, leechers and griefers will no longer be an issue since everything can now be solo'd

Day 1 Battle Royale player here. 3 days ago I bought STW, haven't played BR since, I'm absolutely addicted. This game is just too fun, and I can play by myself AND with people depending on my mood!

The gun are satisfying, the enemies are unique, and even that annoying piece of shit that takes my blu glo every time is awesome because he gives me extra rewards!

My current loadout is:

  • The (rare) Light Machine Gun for consistent damage

  • The (legendary) Silenced Specter given to me by my friends for when I need to kill large groups of husks

  • And the (rare) Kodiak Shotgun for those "get me the fuck outa here" moments.

Sorry if my loadout is terrible, any suggestions?

And I'm currently at Stone wood Quest 2 on Quest page 4. I'm having so much fun, I don't think I'll ever be logging onto BR again..
