The Vault-Tec DLC for Fallout 4 should have allowed Vault 111 to become a settlement. Posted: 31 Aug 2018 09:57 PM PDT A weakness in the Vault-Tec DLC was that it felt somewhat like it was trying to get through the story, just so that the player could get on with building, and any plot points surrounding that didn't feel too substantial. It would have made a nice anchor point if the wanderer had to return to their roots in the vault, and remake things as they saw fit. Given what happens in the main quest, it would have felt like a nice way to end things. [link] [comments]
That island in fallout 4 scared me so bad. Posted: 31 Aug 2018 07:05 PM PDT I saw the island and thought... What over there? So I went there to find several dead people with no sign of killer in sight so I continued exploring until a mirelurk hunter piped up and scared the shit outta me. I had a shot gun that did 50% more damage to mirelurk so I was fine, then the queen showed up and I wasn't to worried about her but then the kind showed up and scared the fuck outta me. The kings just make me feel really uneasy looking at them. [link] [comments]
Even if Sony doesn't want to do cross platform, why can't PC and Xbox One play together? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 07:53 AM PDT I'm just wondering because I have some friends who are thinking about buying it for Xbox One. None of them have PC like I do and I would like to play with them. I loaded old Fallout 1 save and just reminded myself how quickly I found Water Chip. Posted: 01 Sep 2018 06:19 AM PDT Maybe someone described it somewhere in tutorials, but back in the day, I did not have access to any forums or playthroughs. My old save was from 2009's and I already played few scenarios. In the beginning, I maxed my speech and charisma and went almost straight to the mutant guarding the entrance to the Sewers. I was so surprised when I successfully convinced the Mutant that I am mutant too and he just let me through! [link] [comments]

How the hell did James get into the Jefferson memorial? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 12:53 PM PDT He supposedly snuck into a supermutant infested hell hole, recorded a bunch of holotapes, left em behind then got out without killing any of them. Is he a bloody ninja? [link] [comments]
Playing with Equilibrium shows just how poorly balanced FO4's weapons are overall. Posted: 01 Sep 2018 10:40 AM PDT I'm honestly baffled by the progression and choices they made now that I take a closer look at all the weapons, not just minigun. You have the fact that a scoped Combat Rifle is a better sniper than the Dedicated Sniping Rifle in every single way even after the max upgrades. The Submachinegun has the ammo of a midgrade, yet the damage of a pipe weapon that just makes the gun itself trash. Double Barrel frequently fails to one shot even weak ghouls even at ranges where you'd expect a shotgun to do that. And the heavy weapons category as a whole is trash except for the Gatling Laser, and even that is mainly just good. I honestly wonder if Bethesda even tested their weapons with their armor system since the Minigun is gated like a mid to late game weapon, yet gets outclassed by every single full auto in the game in practice. The NCR is Generally Good Right? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 04:45 AM PDT I have always felt that the NCR, with all of their flaws (spread too thin, not enough resources, bureaucratic government structure) is generally trying to do the right thing. From what I have learned of them throughout my extensive hours of game play leads me to believe that they are civilization's best hope for survival. Thoughts??? [link] [comments]
In Fallout 4 Bethesda Initially Planned To Have The Power Armour Training Perk Posted: 01 Sep 2018 12:44 PM PDT Now this means that they were planning on making power armour harder to find and less accessable and were potentially planning to use a different perk system at start. (My proof in the form of a picture https://imgur.com/z7VWMAv ). To recreate said picture go to the creation kit, gameplay, settings and search "powerarmour". It is under sCantEquipPowerArmour. Fallout 1 throws error on Windows 10: Error initializing video mode 1024x768 Posted: 01 Sep 2018 02:19 PM PDT I was playing the Steam edition of Fallout just fine when a couple days ago, I tried to boot it back up and it wouldn't go. I'm on a Windows 10 and I've installed the high resolution patch. I've searched high and low for people with similar issues, but none of their solutions have worked for me thus far. Any ideas? Does any just listen to Raider conversations? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 02:12 AM PDT Fallout 4 had some amazing npc dialogue. It's kind of sad that most people overlook the writing of 4, it's really good. [link] [comments]
Fallout 4 Mod Xbone X Recommendations for a smooth performance? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 01:55 PM PDT Howdy everyone, I'm new to this subreddit (and also the Xbox community) so I'm hoping I'm not overstepping etiquette by posting directly here for some console modding advice. Here goes: I recently got an Xbox one X and I wanted to find some mods that won't anchor my performance or lead to unexpected problems . A cousin of mine modded F4 on an Xbox and spent like a week getting his load order to his liking, only to go to the final boss arena of one of the DLCs and find that the game would not spawn the final wave of enemies. He was trapped and he thought his save was ruined until he disabled most of his mods. Sure enough, the boss fight proceed as normal but he could not leave the arena without the game crashing- with or without the mods being reactivated. I'd like to avoid that. I have experience modding Skyrim (both on console and pc) and I understand how some mods can lower frame rate due to stress. I also know that there are some mods that will actually reduce pixels or set textures to be more agreeable with a large open world. Would anyone happen to know any mods that will help the game will run comfortably while I add more stuff to my game like weapons or armor? By that same token, would anyone happen to know of any mods that- while cool- would be best to avoid because they can sometimes not be worth the trouble they cause? And any honorable mentions for fun would also be welcome as well :D. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
What would be your "canon" build for each game? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 11:14 AM PDT For example, taking Fallout 3's protagonist and making a scientific energy weapon user. Or New Vegas' Courier a duster wearing gunslinger with high Luck. Obviously Nate is the "canon" choice in Fallout 4 but what kind of build do you think he would use? What faction(s) would he choose and why? "Canon" in this content just means what do you think would be the most likely for each character based on what little actual canon exists for each character or other promotional material or context in game. Hence the quotes. Obviously there is no real canon build for any of the characters. [link] [comments]

The exploration of the Fallout games Posted: 01 Sep 2018 04:34 AM PDT I have always thought the Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 nailed the exploration. The capital wasteland was so fun to explore because you find something different every time, and the Commonwealth was fun because the world looked amazing and there were side stories in each new location. Fallout New Vegas was stronger in the story and player choice aspects, but the exploration wasn't quite as fun for me. [link] [comments]

Fallout 76: Bottle Cap Inflation Posted: 01 Sep 2018 12:23 PM PDT Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone has any idea as to what the economic inflation of bottlecaps will be like in Fallout 76? Will it be like Fallout 3 where 300 caps could get you far? Or will it be like Fallout New Vegas where the prices of items were hiked up considerably and 300 caps couldn't get you far. Also, this goes without saying but I'll ask it anyway, will caps be harder to come by in Fallout 76? Thanks, and I hope you all have a great day! [link] [comments]

Do you think the Courier could eventually run for President if they sided with the NCR? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 03:11 PM PDT So normally when playing Fallout, I usually play Fallout 3 and then New Vegas straight after (mostly because I do like Fallout 3 even if I prefer New Vegas and I like to imagine my LW goes on to become my Courier). Normally when playing New Vegas, I always just side with Mr. House but this time I want to do something different and wanted to go with NCR. But then I just realised, "Well why would MY Courier want to side with NCR? What are the benefits for them personally over just going with Mr. House and ruling New Vegas together?" That's when it hits me. My Courier could just be siding with the NCR not only because they somewhat agree with their principles and them being the best chance for long term sustainability over New Vegas. It could also be because they are interested in their political system and want to use their efforts in the war to propel their popularity among civilians as the "saviour of New Vegas." This even got me thinking as to whether my Courier would even let Kimball be assassinated to throw the NCR leadership in chaos and more authority being deferred to high ranking members of the NCR (which I imagine would be generals and the Courier himself). I actually looked this up but I haven't seen many people talk about this being a possibility for why the Courier could side with the NCR. But what do you guys think? Has anyone sided with the NCR and thought this could be possible (especially if Kimball dies and a VP has to unexpectedly fill his place)? [link] [comments]
Does anyone have their own headcanon about fallout that they accept as true? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 02:45 AM PDT Headcanon is a cool thing. Since there's alot of things we don't learn about in the fallout universe, there's alot of things open to interpretation. You can imagine what you want. For example, one of my headcanons about fallout is that James from Fallout 3 is Doc Mitchell's son from New Vegas. Adds a cool connection between the two games. [link] [comments]
Consequences of "Taking out the Trash" Posted: 01 Sep 2018 02:49 PM PDT I just spoke to Mags Black in Nuka World and she gave me the "taking out the trash" quest, which tells me to go to Diamond City and kill the scavenger. Since this is in Diamond City, will this have any consequences that will interfere with me eventually buying a house there and being able to trade there? I don't want to do this if it will cause the people to hate me. [link] [comments] |
