Posted: 04 Sep 2018 09:09 PM PDT Respect the crafters time by knowing what you want when you shout out. Seriously, I need to know set, level, weight and trait at the minimum. Respect the crafters mats by NOT requesting high end styles for your level 23 training set. Do not ask for Gold jewelry. It's embarrassing for both of us. Respect the amount of materials it takes to make a full 160 set of armor. It's a lot. Send mats to help out, even if they aren't the mats used for your specific set. Odds are there are more people than you they are crafting FOR FREE for. Stop telling people to join a guild just to get shit crafted. Guilds are for bonding and fun times. If you roll in hot and new with a thousand requests? Guess what. Respect the crafters who help you by helping them. Do not be bothersome. If a crafter tells you they are Busy ATM, they are busy. If they say send a mail with what you want, that's kind of what they mean. Do NOT whisper when the crafter is in a dungeon because they didn't reply to your shout out. Numerous whispers can't change this. Just please remember that crafters who craft for guilds are doing it in their spare time for free because they love their guildies. Be lovable. Or you ain't getting shit. In primal. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Sep 2018 03:45 AM PDT Sometimes I log onto my machine at home over VPN, just to collect the daily reward, train my horses or do some writs. That connection and the laptop I'm working on aren't very fast, however, so I'm somewhat limited when it comes to the quality of the game over VPN. I can choose between half a frame per minute, or lowering the amount of colors that I'm sending over the net, and I opted for the latter, so I can at least walk to the crafting stations and do my writs. So, I'm working on 8 colors in the Remote Desktop app, and that gave me some funky loading screens that I wanted to share with you. Maybe someone who likes a retro feel to a new game might like this style. Enjoy! [link] [comments]
To the low cp player who was abused by 2 pieces of trash for 30 minutes straight Posted: 04 Sep 2018 09:17 AM PDT Don't pay attention to the uncommon garbage players like the 2 you encountered today. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, which is everyone but the 1 low cp healer I was just grouped with, heres the story that just unfolded before my dumbfounded eyes: So I'm a max cp dps, and I'd consider myself pretty good, 45k parse on a 6m dummy so do with that info as you will, whether you consider that average or good. I recently decided it was high time to stop being the one token magsorc in trials and gear out my magblade, and im missing 1 piece that I refuse to transmute, a divines medium zaan shoulder. So I've been running pledges on all my dps characters. I have run into nothing but either pleasant or quiet people while running. and while running today's crypt of hearts I noticed a vote to kick our healer after the FIRST trash pull because they dropped a nova by accident, I asked why they wanted to kick and all they say is cp. I shrug it off as them being in a bad mood. One of them which will be known as 300 from now on asks if im in a group with him. I tell 300 no and that I'd just rather not kick him especially since the guys doing his job just fine, granted he isnt using healing springs, just mutagent and breath of life, but it gets the job done, or would if we had a real tank. our fake tank will be known as 600, 300's friend. just as context things are tense already since 300 called me an idiot in PM because I didnt vote yes. FF to last boss we wipe about 3 times and 300 and 600 have the bright idea that to get back at me for sabotaging the run by not kicking our healer, they'll wait outside the boss room and let me and the healer duo it. Obviously 2 is enough for ilambris twins and we're slow burning it while I taunt both. We get them to 10% and the other 2 run in, throw taunts over my taunts and reset the boss by dragging them out. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior, especially considering that I was doing 70% of the total group dps when there was 2 of them, the reason I find that relevant is because if you're not even hitting a total of 50% group dps combined, what gives you the right to kick someone who is actually fulfilling their role, stupidly well for a low cp. Now I know usually people dislike low cp players jumping into vet content, but I disagree, if you're a tank or a healer, vet dungeons do not require cp whatsoever, its more so the dps role that usually benefits from cp (in dungeons, not talking about trials). HOWEVER, before jumping into this type of content, be ready for it, know what your role is and do your best to fulfill it. This healer was doing that, and to be kicked over cp is just idiocy. Luckily these types of players are extremely rare, and we ended up grouping together and i got some good friends to come join and we steamrolled and completed the dungeon before 300 and 600 did. Please excuse spelling mistakes etc. But I wanted to make this post both to encourage newer players to learn their roles, and to dishearten people who gate good low cp players out of content they're ready for just over their level. Removed link to stream as their names are shown EDIT: Please excuse my hostility I show at the end of the run after the healer leaves, I was really angry over it. EDIT 2: This is a repost as the mods took down the old one due to the twitch link as it showed the players names. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Sep 2018 10:07 PM PDT I recently upgraded to the Xbox one x and a 4K tv and was really looking forward to the upgraded visuals on ESO being an "enhanced" game. To my surprise, the visuals looked the same, if not worse, than my original Xbox one and ESO in 1080p. I discovered that with the new wolfhunter update they changed "asset saturation" levels because some people had complained the colors were too vibrant, but this had "unintended consequences." According to a recent post from ZOS on the official forums, the mistake is not being fixed in any shape or form until some undecided future date when a "compromise" will be looked into. I am posting this so that people considering buying either ESO or an Xbox one X to play with upgraded 4K visuals will know it is absolutely not functioning in its current form. I would recommend against upgrading currently. On a broader note. I think now more than ever console players should remain as vocal as they can to voice their discontent with the current state of the game. The many quality of life issues ZOS is flat out ignoring (they have been laid out in many other posts) for the console player base needs to continue to be brought to light. I may have thought twice about buying ESO had I known that console players were an afterthought and received an incomplete, tedious, bug-ridden, and inefficient game that our PC brethren can (mostly) supplement deficiencies with add-ons. I will likely be unsubbing from ESO+ at the end of the month. I know nobody cares about that but it saddens me because I thought I'd play this game till the population dropped too low. The communication is appalling, the glaring UI omissions are appalling, and the amount of time and effort put into the crown store relative to all of the other issues currently in the game is appalling. ZOS should look at how well Bungie handled their very bad situation and pay attention to how amazing their community managers have become. It was a complete 180 that has largely been received very well overall. Perception is a huge deal in this day and age and if I had a dollar for every time someone replaced ZOS with ZO$ I'd have a lot of dollars (and could maybe even afford a crown store mansion). Now people will always complain no matter what you do, but there needs to be some way to sift through the changes that are truly needed (ie guild trader search function, mini-map, better tracking of buffs/dots) and the ones that truly are not needed or should be much lower on the totem pole of improvements (ie being able to organize characters on the log-in screen, breaking HDR, etc.). This is a truly exceptional game and the team that developed and designed it should be respected for the product they put out. The current trend, however, is one of a company blinded by greed and apathetic to its players (especially on console). Bugs and disagreements about UI functions are par for the course in an MMO, but this takes it to a whole new level and if it were my product, I'd be embarrassed and want to make it right immediately. Posted: 04 Sep 2018 10:03 PM PDT Post by Gina on the ESO Forums: "Hey guys, apologies for the lack of updates. We were out of town for PAX and just got back to the office today. The current HDR visuals will stay the way they are for now. However, we're going to look into a compromise on the asset saturation between the old version and the current one that will be implemented in a future update. We don't want to rush another change, and we'll give you a heads up when we have a better idea of timing." https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/5426406/#Comment_5426406 [link] [comments]

The current state of PvE tanking Posted: 04 Sep 2018 10:21 AM PDT I'm curious and would like to hear some community opinions on the direction the game seems to be going with tanking. Several PvE encounters in the most recent DLC have introduced mechanics that really seem to test tanks. DLC dungeon boss heavy attacks hit so hard that they still take out 50-60% of your health while blocking. Some of the large adds in the new wolfhunter dungeons sneakily stack bleeds that end up doing a ridiculous amount of damage over time. Once again, the best strategy to survive is well timed roll dodging. Eating damage like a "true tank" or holding block throughout boss fights is no longer a very viable strategy. Is this a welcome change, or is it just frustrating? Do these mechanics make tanking more dynamic? Is it more fun to avoid damage or to take it? Many new tanking mechanics have introduced a heavy emphasis on tank mobility. The crushing darkness kite mechanic on z'maja in Cloudrest is an example. Standing in that thing is entirely impossible on veteran without magma armor. Standing still and holding block in the thurvokun hardmode encounter is essentially a death sentence since it slows the player down too much to avoid scarabs and ghosts. Do these mechanics that require good tank mobility make the role more interesting? What of the current gear meta for tanks? All of the sets that come most highly recommended are mainly group support (ebon, alkosh, torug's pact) and other sets are regarded as "selfish". I've seen a lot of complaints on the forums about tanks being forced to be step-stools for the dps. However, isn't the tank pretty widely considered a support role? Is it not fun to push yourself to be the biggest benefit for the group as a tanking support? Of course the main objective of the tank is to keep yourself alive and hold enemy aggro first, but then why not also see what kinds of buffs you can throw your teammates while doing all that? Builds consisting of Unpopular Sets Posted: 05 Sep 2018 04:42 AM PDT Just posting to see if anyone has or even uses any unpopular sets within their builds whether it be PVP or PVE. From my experience as they are many sets within the game, only a small amount get used across the player base such as spriggans, shacklebreaker, Julianos etc. Some examples of a uncommon set i'd say would be something such as: way of the arena, alessia's bulwark, Draugr Heritage or Kvatch Gladiator. A couple guild store questions Posted: 05 Sep 2018 03:30 AM PDT How does bidding on guild stores work in general? My guild isn't at the 50 member minimum yet but when we get there I want to set one up. Do guilds just bid on a specific booth location? I always wonder about the remote or kind of hidden locations (like in dark corners of outlaw refuges). Are those worth getting? I can't imagine they get much traffic, but I also assume the ones in major cities in prime spots are hard to get. And in terms of shopping, is there a centralized way to view all guild stores stock [Xbox]? I've read that there's an addon for pc that lets you do this but being on Xbox I don't have access to that. It's a pain and so time consuming to go from store to store, not to mention the bigger issue of stores being scattered all over the world. Is there an easier way I'm missing? Edit: lol why was this downvoted? [link] [comments]

Werewolf: can’t feed on animals anymore? Posted: 04 Sep 2018 02:42 PM PDT You used to be able to feed on animals as a quick way to replenish Werewolf. I can't do it anymore. Is this change intentional? Because if so, that's nonsense. [link] [comments]
Can we please remove any dungeon Urgarlag Chief-bane would give out of Random Dungeon Posted: 04 Sep 2018 10:00 PM PDT Seriously sometimes I just wanna jump on and do some dailies on my alts, but then you wait 30 minutes as dps to find one then get Falkreath Hold with a group who cant get their shit together and another hour later youre still on the second boss and then there goes that part of my life. I love the challenge of the harder dungeons with guildies, but very rarely do I get a random group that can do them. Zen please remove the more difficult dungeons from random que [link] [comments]
Is it just me or did the third-person FOV get jacked today? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 01:43 AM PDT I like to play with my camera zoomed as far out as it will go. I spend a lot of time on my outfits, and I wanna see 'em. Today I got on after the whole Xbox server problem, and now I can only see my characters from the knees up and I can't even see my whole horse when mounted. Is this happening to anyone else? I already tried readjusting my settings. [link] [comments]

Launcher locks up, i cannot repair it, and i need to update the exe to bypass it Posted: 04 Sep 2018 06:53 PM PDT So i don't know what happened with whatever update last night, if there was one, but whenever i open my launcher it locks up. i don't have the steam version. i can't click anything, it locks up immediately after opening. I can't repair or anything at all. I tried bypassing it by using the exe but it won't let me run it because it's not the newest version. I have no idea what to do, i've uninstalled and reinstalled it about 4 times, i have tried running as administrator, i can't figure it out and it's really frustrating. usually the game explodes and i need to repair before playing after every update, but this time i can't even do that because the launcher just immediately freezes then closes itself after a few minutes. Is there anything i can do to fix it? I can't even submit a ticket because it won't open. [link] [comments] |
