Archeage on Linux (September 2018 without Steam) Posted: 01 Sep 2018 11:53 AM PDT As of September 1, 2018, I've got AA running on Pop!_OS 18.04, a version of Ubuntu Bionic 18.04. I get 55-63 FPS in most conditions with the graphics quality sliders all set to "Normal." I assume you know how to open a terminal window and have a basic understanding of a UNIX command line. I make no guarantee that I didn't miss a step in these instructions. Tested configuration
Install needed packages As root, you need to install 32-bit libraries, install Wine, and install some needed libraries.
Hit <ctrl-D> to exit the root shell. You need to do the remaining steps as a non-privileged user. Get dxvk for better graphics performance Make a directory to hold your games.
In your browser, go to https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases and download the latest release; unpack it into ~/games
Create your Windows installation I use a separate To keep the commands more clear, I'll set the environment variables separately instead of prefixing the In the environment variables, below, user corresponds to your user login name.
In Install Archeage First, you'll need to go to https://glyph.trionworlds.com and grab a copy of Glyph client for Windows. Now, from the games directory, you'll need to start the Glyph installer:
You should be able to log into Glyph normally, although you will be prompted for a one-time code. Let Archeage install to a default directory. When it's done installing, you should be able to hit Play and AA should start. WARNING! You will likely get a dialog popup warning that the Wine Windows executor is not responding. Press the Wait button: this is normal and I haven't figured out how to extend the timeout or disable the dialog yet. Adding an Archeage script (optional) Wine should have installed a Glyph icon on your desktop during installation -- it may look like a gear with the title Glyph.desktop until you execute it. If it didn't create the idon or the icon doesn't work, you can create a script to start AA. I've have

You'll then be able to start Archeage from a terminal. [link] [comments]
I want to comeback to this nice game :D Posted: 01 Sep 2018 10:22 AM PDT I played this game the last year but i got bored becouse i was so lonely. Being lonely made very difficult farm stuff to get better gear, farm to build a better car, farm to get a house or a ship... I wasn't happy with my class too (an archer), so when i formatted my computer i never re-installed the game. This days i've been thinking about come back on the game, but i wont be lonely again, and idk if is worth start a healer (what i would like to be) from 0. My archer is lvl 55 and have very nice non tradable things that would be so sad to lose becouse i spended so much hours to get it... Is there some webpage like dreamteam.gg to find people to play this game? Is it worth to start a healer from 0? Use the same habilities for a entire month can become a bit boring and repetitive, then, if i start from 0, i would like to build a flexible class (if i swap a hability branch it stills being a good class). Is it possible? If do you think that a healer is boring, i have as plan B build something like a poisoner :) but idk if the game have this class... What do you think Reddit? c: [link] [comments]
