When did brood go from niche last pick to solid first pick?

Posted: 20 Aug 2018 01:16 PM PDT

Brood has always been the type of hero which could easily get countered if picked early and can often solo win games if picked last into no counters. What changed such that Liquid can confidently first pick brood and dominate?

Why are pros still picking tiny mid?

Posted: 20 Aug 2018 02:09 PM PDT

Pretty much the title. Optic went for tiny mid in both games and it was so bad. The hero scales so bad into the late game and once bkbs are picked up or the enemy team has to much hp tiny feels just so bad. He is on a timer and gets kited so easily really can someone convince me that tiny is really a viable mid.

Going from 4560 to 3990 in few weeks

Posted: 20 Aug 2018 10:49 AM PDT

Okay, I dont really know why am I makign this tread, but i want to find someone who experienced this shit and give me a advice.

I am a 4k player for almost 3-4 years, playing soloq 90% of time tryign to get to 5k. In June, i made a promise to myself wanting to hit 5k by the end of the summer. 3 or 4 weeks ago i was 4560 or 70% sitting on anc3. Then lose streak came. And another one, repeat it and somehow im 3990. I dont feel like 3k or 4k, I understand every mistake I make or other 9 people make but cant win games for some reason. When i play party with immortal friend and play agaisnt divine1-5 I dont see any difference between 4k and 5k.

I basically tried everything:

  1. be a nice guy, lead the team= doesnt work, no 4k player ever listens to my advice or calls

  2. spam mid tinker = banned almost every game and countered hard every time i pick him, so im just sick of playing him

  3. play every role = once i tried to support or offlane, it seemed the cores i played with wanted to trow games every chacne they get and didnt listen to me(number 1)

  4. watch educational dota videos

My dotabuff and opendota(tried using GOSU.AI but stopped) = https://www.dotabuff.com/players/93264649 https://www.opendota.com/players/93264649

How to Counter Omni Carry?

Posted: 20 Aug 2018 08:54 AM PDT

I don't often see omniknight played as a carry, but every time I do, he seems to completely dominate. I have also had great success playing omniknight as a carry, due to his strong presence throughout the early and midgame, you end up setting up a massive advantage for your team. The only real counter I see to Omniknight is to purge his ult, but this doesn't go through his 50% uptime BKB. His slow is potentially the most underrated part of his kit, and one of the most frustrating abilities to play against - if he ever gets within melee range of you, you are forced to either fight him or use an ability to escape, which means the majority of the hero roster has no real way to deal with this. By the time your team has any real items on their carry, the omniknight will have S&Y, radiance and will be able to run down your team without you having any way to deal with it.

What are the best tactics, picks and items to deal with this uncommon but surprisingly powerful strategy?

Is offlane really obsolete?

Posted: 20 Aug 2018 01:06 AM PDT

I was told by someone ingame to just "google it" that offlane is not viable anymore.

  1. Is that true?
  2. Why?
  3. How come in pubs ppl still manage to pull it off?
