Middle-click the Galaga Medley song in the Smash Blog, the YouTube video will be the same Galaga Medley song, but it will have an incorrect title that hints to who the newcomer is for Smash! Looks like something got messed up while they updated the website and song.

I know there's a lot of hype for the direct tomorrow, and I for one can't wait. However, if there's one thing that I truly want more than anything else, it's for Sakurai to not look like he's been torturing himself. I know that Smash is his passion, but he's such a hard worker that he seems to hurt himself with every new Smash game, which is not healthy. He recently tweeted about his eyes being red from being so tired, and it got me worrying about him. He should definitely take a break if he's hurting himself, because Smash is important, but his health is more important.

So before announcing King K. Rool or a new adventure mode, Sakurai, let us know you're ok.

In order to keep r/smashbros as clean as possible from repetitive posts, shitposts, untagged spoilers and memes we will be locking the ability to post User generated threads for the duration of Ultimate's Direct. Users will not be able to create their own threads at that time but will still have the ability to comment. We understand that everyone is excited but after the recent event with Ultimate's Announcement we believe it is best to try a different approach with this upcoming Direct.

 

There will be a MegaThread for those who wish to discuss Ultimate news and information during the direct. Once the direct is over and enough time has past we will unlock the submission button and allow Users to post threads again. We recommend that you dont post information threads as we guarantee 100 people will post the same information before and yours will be taken down for duplicate. Try to create unique threads in relations with Ultimate's Direct.

 

If you have any questions or concerns please comment here or message the mods. This is the first time we've done something this drastic so feedbacks are appreciated

I'm saying we as a community because far too often I have seen videos, topics, translations, and any effort that Source Gaming has done for this community, taken for some clicks, with no reference to them at all. The least we could do is reference them when using their content. It saddens me that so often I find one of the founders, PushDustin, sad about his work and effort gone to waste when Source Gaming is left uncredited again. Most recent incident is the top post in this sub right now. I mean come on, he should never feel like this. All I'm asking is in general, when posting anywhere anything related to this game, make sure the source is credited, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Source Gaming.

Vayseth's Open Letter to the Smash 4 Community

Before I begin I want to clarify that this is me talking to all of you and I am not representing anyone but myself when I say this.

I am not here to explain what happened. If you want to know more about what happened I suggest you watch the following videos from our community leaders as I feel they all bring up points that are important:

As these videos point out, after years of harassment anyone is bound to break. This is where I feel like I failed. Many people out there consider me to be a community leader in Smash 4. Not just in our community, but in Melee and the FGC. When stuff like this goes public, friends and associates from outside Smash 4 always reach out to me and ask what happened. I will be the first to admit I had no idea this was going on. After seeing multiple accounts on Twitter about Bayonetta players getting harassed online and at tournaments, I realize this issue is widespread and out of control and it needs to stop.

While scrolling through social media I noticed that a large majority of people claimed they do not know who the leadership is. This means that there are a lot of people out there who do not know who to turn to when they need help. I am currently recovering from Evo, but I have already begun suggesting to community leaders solutions to this problem. When that solution has been found, I will post it here for all to see. My goal is to let the community know who the leaders are and how you can contact us if you need anything from advice or support to confidentially being able to report harassment.

We have 122 days until Ultimate. 122 days to design and execute a strategy to ensure our community is welcoming to newcomers. I will be working tirelessly to make sure we are ready by the end of November. Until then, I want to let anyone know that they can contact me on Twitter. My DMs are open and I usually respond extremely quickly. Chances are, if I do not have the ability to help you myself, I almost certainly have the network to find you someone who does.

We have another Smash Direct tomorrow. Let's continue to work together to welcome in the next generation of the Super Smash Bros. Family.

This is Pichu. He made his debut in Melee, where he was literally designed to be a character so god awful that he hurt himself when he attacked. Now you might be asking yourself, "OP, where are you going with this?". Well, what if I told you that this disgusting despicable RAT might actually be unintentionally really good in Ultimate?

That's right, folks. Pichu, the Hercule/Dan Habiki of Smash Brothers, is actually going to be deadly as shit in Ultimate. Why? The rage mechanic. The more he hurts himself, the more knockback he does, right? And he hurts himself A LOT. With this in mind, imagine this shit https://youtu.be/FEcQqOWWdbQ?t=44s but with the rage mechanic. Many of you have already figured this out, so before you get it twisted in the comment section because I've probably stated the obvious, I want to clarify. Understanding how he is deadly is only a fraction of this post.

Put yourself in the shoes of your, well, future self. You just got your hands on Ultimate. It's amazing, fresh out of the damn box. You pop it into your Switch, you go on Online, and what happens? Your first ever opponent in Ultimate is a goddamn Pichu, who kicks your ass so badly with his decreased lag (compared to Pikachu of course) and progressively increasing knockback that your eyes begin to glaze over at the screen, as your brain overheats in an attempt to help you comprehend that a fucking Pichu just clobbered you. Can you truly live with this shame? Your first ever loss, to a Pichu. THIS is why we should fear Pichu. We should fear the inevitable.
