New player. Is there any reason not to create a seasonal hero as my first character? (D3 Xbox One)

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 07:13 PM PDT

I'm new to the game, and I don't see any disadvantages to starting my game with a seasonal hero... but I don't want to start my experience by making a mistake, so I thought I'd ask the experts. :P

Are there any disadvantages to starting out with a seasonal hero?

We seriously need more stash space

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 03:29 AM PDT

Its getting really bad now. I have bought every single thing that increases character slots (collectors upgrade, Necro pack) in an attempt to store more items.

I play all the characters and love build variety, which means I'm particularly stuffed when it comes to storage, I can barley play one character at a time because I have to dump an inventory load of well rolled gear out first otherwise I'm just playing on an "Action mule"

If each character could have two or so of their own SPECIFIC stash tabs then that would instantly solve a massive problem. For me the game is all about the item collection, the way you would play a card collection game. I like using the items but also I enjoy having them even if its in non season

How do you guys deal with identifying legendaries?

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 04:06 PM PDT

Hey all so I'm relatively new to diablo and I have been reaching the point where a couple GRs gives me a full inventory of legendaries and it is a bit monotonous to sit and wait 5 seconds for every single item in my inventory to identify. Is there some easier way to go about this? Can I identify all at once or something? Does everyone just click one by one? I realized that you can sorta tell the shape of the item behind the question mark and dimness before identifying so do people just memorize how they look and automatically salvage the ones they know aren't worth identifying at all? Any tips appreciated.

For a non-hardcore gamer, what benefits can one expect from playing a seasonal character?

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 08:45 PM PDT

Hello!

I just got back into D3 after a couple years (bought the Necromancer Pack), and I'd forgotten how broken it can be to use gems from previous characters, etc. Obviously my necro is leveling off the charts (level 1 to 55 in two moderate sessions playing solo).

I'm intrigued with the idea of starting a seasonal character for the current season, but I have a couple concerns.

1.) I know they last three months, and it appears as though this one will end around the end of August. Is that right?

2.) Glancing at the official page describing the season, it looks like most or all of the lasting rewards -- meaning those that would benefit my account after the season ends -- are locked behind extremely steep achievement gates, slaying bosses in under 30 seconds on Torment XIII, etc. Do I have to achieve all of these things in order to earn permanent sets for my account?

I don't have much time to game these days, and while I love a good grind session once and then, I doubt I'd be able to tick all of these boxes. What benefits might a non-hardcore player expect out of a seasonal character?

Thanks for any feedback here!

I love Diablo 3!! This game is awesome.

Posted: 06 Aug 2018 04:47 PM PDT

This is my 3rd attempt at playing the game and its amazing!! The first 2 times I only completed the campaign as Demon Hunter and never touched it again, but this 3rd time I went Wizard and decided to keep playing through adventure mode, I got the Etched Sigil for off-hand and Grand Vizier for Kanais Cube and then couldnt put the game down. I thought that was awesome until I found Rhykkers video on the Firebird Meteor set and completed the Firebird armor set and holy shit its amazing. Instantly went from Torment 2 and GR 1 to Torment 10 and GR 40 or something. I still havent finished the entire Firebird Meteor set but the powerspike I got when I got all 6 armor pieces is insaaaannnneee.

This game is awesome!!

Using Large Cursor causes my FPS to drop from 60 to 20.

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 08:14 AM PDT

I saw in another post about FPS issues that a few other people were able to fix their FPS issue by disabling Large Cursor. I did that, and my FPS went back up to 60.

I just wanted to make a post specifically about this being an issue so hopefully a blizzard dev sees it! I will report the bug as well!

D2 - Anyone play D2 off a flash drive on their work laptop?

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 09:54 AM PDT

I travel for work from time to time, my work laptop is a POS Lenovo T450 and I was thinking I could copy over the D2 files from my Desktop to a 32gb flash drive and play it like that when traveling without having to install the game on my actual work laptop. Has anyone tried this or something similar? Any issues?

How to move/pick up stuff without being able to attack enemies?

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 12:25 PM PDT

like binding walking on left click in poe. i cant count how many times ive died because ive accidentally attacked an enemy while trying to move or pick something up. force move on spacebar helps with movement, but i cant pick up anything unless i click, and even then my character spins around like 1-2 seconds around before picking the item.

Would you play more campaign if the loot was similar to Adventure Mode?

Posted: 06 Aug 2018 11:48 PM PDT

I enjoyed the story line quite a lot. Even if it wasn't constant grinding as Normal Rifts or GRs, going through the acts consecutively was really fun.

One thing I am sure - I would definitely get 1 to 70 at the start of each season on campaign instead, if the loot/xp was similar to Adventure mode. What about you?

Just finished diablo 3 for the first time

Posted: 06 Aug 2018 06:12 AM PDT

I played a wizard on Xbox and really enjoyed it. Been playing a bit for a couple years but never cleared act one. For some reason something clicked this time and I played through it in 2 days. Great game

I thought everyone skips trash at low Torment levels.

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 07:59 AM PDT

I have always played solo, and usually HC. I've watched some Twitch and I, like they, seem to skip trash and look for the elite packs.

I decided to play in public HC games yesterday. I think it was Torment 6. We entered the regular rift and I was running past trash looking for the first pack. Then the other guy left.

Is it bad to skip trash in HC public games?

Final embrace corpse explosion

Posted: 07 Aug 2018 06:07 AM PDT

I want some piece of gear, like an offhand since necro offhands are wasted opportunities in most cases, that increases corpse explosion damage and gives corpse explosion the final embrace rune.

In my opinion it is one of the best looking skills in the whole game, I adore the way the corpses animate into spidery things and facehug enemies before exploding. You could select any rune you want (like dread cold to proc krysbins) and it would explode with that affect after first using its final embrace to find the targets.

This would definitely improve my necro fantasy of getting a decent corpse explosion build.

Does anyone know how to get DiabloPatch working without the CD?

Posted: 06 Aug 2018 11:46 PM PDT

Just picked up a copy of Diablo 1 the other day and I found that diablopatch was the best way to play it on a modern OS and it works perfectly the only problem for me is that my disc drive is quite loud and annoying, I found a few mentions of a CDless patch when looking online but couldn't find any links Thanks!

I can’t decide on a barbarian build (I play on PS4)

Posted: 06 Aug 2018 11:31 PM PDT

I mentioned I play on PS4 cause I just looked at the earthquake build and was wondering how that would work on PS4, to jump around and land in specific areas. I'm thinking raekors HOTA but I've been told it's hard to gear for as you need very specific gear. Wrath of the wastes is even harder to manage I read. immortal kings HOTA....kinda want my armor to match, including the shoulders...

HC Wiz "starter" builds?

Posted: 06 Aug 2018 11:27 PM PDT

Hello Nice and 100% Friendly redditors! I asked a few days ago for a Frozen Orb build and after having a lot of fun in SC I wanted to jump to Seasonal HC. The problem is I'm unlucky with drops and only got a Firebird set so far and 0 legendary items with damage multipliers, so the question as title says is: There is any good "starter build" for Wizard using Firebird set and 0 legendaries?

I'm following this Firebird's Finery Starter Build but was wondering if there is something better as Icy Veins only shows Archon and Meteor builds for FB set.

BTW diablofans seems super bugged to me so was unable to search Cratic's builds there

Warning about creating/editing builds on diablofans right now

I spent half an hour creating a build and after saving it all skills and items were missing. People also report losing info from editing a build.

If there is going to be a Diablo 2 remaster/remake, what changes would you like to see?

Posted: 06 Aug 2018 08:01 AM PDT

Besides improved graphics of course...

Below is my personal list. I put the things that the vast majority of the community would agree on in the first three categories and some of the things that I personally would like to see - but that may be very controversial for some people - in the last two.

Very Important Changes

  • separated inventory for charms (and for charms only)

  • automatic gold pick-up

  • personal, instanced loot

  • shared stash & increased stash size

  • making weaker skills more powerful/useful

  • more balance across the board (regarding skills, items, runewords, enemies, mercs, etc.)

  • difficulty level(s) above hell

Medium Important Chances

  • cow level doesn't permanently close after killing the cow king

  • revamping/improving the attribute system

  • let potions stack in the inventory and the belt (for example up to 100 or whatever) and/or rework the health/mana potion system

  • no more global cooldown (when you cast a cooldowned skill, only that skill shall be effected by the cooldown)

  • mercenaries should resurrect themselves xx seconds after they died, similar to followers from D3, so you don't always have to go back to town to revive them

  • remove stamina

  • increase high level rune droprate

  • upgrading normal and exceptional uniques should also improve their magic affixes instead of just the base damage and armor

  • give us something else to do in the endgame besides Chaos/Baal/Mephisto/Cow runs, Hellfire Quest or the lvl 85 areas

  • allow us to use the playersX command (aka players set to X) on battle.net

Minor Important Changes

  • drastically increase stack size for arrows, javelins, etc., or let them stack infinitely

  • Crushing Blow and Deadly Strike should spawn on rare and magic weapons

  • fix/nerf mana burn affix on enemies

  • increased base mana regeneration rate

  • remove the cooldowns of certain skills (e.g. Fist of the Heavens, Immolation Arrow, Hydra)

  • give us magic, rare and unique quivers and bolts

  • unique and set items should make a sound when they drop and have a visual indicator (similar to D3)

  • allow us to change the color of the text of items that are dropped on the ground in the settings option, so it is easier to differentiate what items are lying on the ground

Controversial

This are things that I personally would like to see, but I have the feeling that they might be controversial to some of you, that is why I put them in a separate category.

  • an improved hotbar (maybe one that is a bit like D3's or the one from WoW, but doesn't necessarily has to be 100% like it)

  • the size of items in the inventory should get scaled down, so they don't take away so much space (maybe like in D3, where items only take away 1 or 2 slots at max in the inventory)

  • let all health potions heal 60% or 100% total life, no matter if it is a small or great potion, but let them heal the amount of life over a different duration (for example a small health potion heals 100% life within 12 seconds and a great health potion heals 100% life in 4 seconds) – I got this idea from the D2 mod Median XL

  • let some of the minor skills (like Fire Bolt, Frost Bolt, Charged Bolt, Bash, Magic Arrow, Lightning Bolt, Jab, Teeth etc) GENERATE Mana, so that we can do something when we are low on Mana instead of just rely on Mana Leech, potion spamming or Insight merc

  • let the Teleport skill that you gain from the Enigma runeword have a short cooldown (or maybe even the Sorcs Teleport as well)

  • no more complete immunites to certain elements on enemies, only increased resistances against certain elements, so players are not totally reliant on using Infinity RW on a merc or go for dual-elements

Very Controversial

I marked these as "very controversial", because they contain ideas from D3 and I know how many D2 fans feel about D3, however, in my opinion these changes would very much improve the game.

  • add one or two additional difficulties above hell and a difficulty slider like in D3 (but with only 4-5 or maybe 6 difficulty levels max)

  • let enemies adjust to your level, like in D3

  • add Adventure Mode and an improved version of Bounties similar to those in D3 (this would make the whole world meaningful and not just some bosses or just some areas) – this in combination with the difficulty slider and we never had to run Normal-Nightmare-Hell over and over again on every single character, which imo was one of the worst things in D2

And what changes/improvements would you like to see in a D2 remake/remaster?

What's the quickest way to go through campaign in Diablo 3?

Posted: 06 Aug 2018 09:24 AM PDT

Just picked up Diablo 3 ROS for Xbox one because my internet is going to be out of the picture for the foreseeable future. Since I don't have internet I'm running an outdated version of the game. No greater rifts, 5 keystones required to run a regular rift, and no cube.

Just wondering what the quickest way to run through campaign would be? I'm at level 60 now on my Barb but I'm not super fond of this class and want to play something else. That being said, I'd rather not spend a whole weekend doing campaign again.

Any suggestions are appreciated. (Unless you tell me to get a power level lol, I have no internet)
