Hello everyone. I'm sure very few of us played all characters' original games. Like me, I believe many of you wanted to know at least a little bit about every character's story.
I searched countless times about every character's story, but with a few exceptions, all I could find about most of them was really long videos and texts. But since we have a lot of characters, reading/watching all of those would take days. I believe most of us would really like a brief summary of each character's story and personality.
So what I would like to propose is that each one of us post the name of a character who has an interest in knowing the story and personality better, so that some other member who knows that info can make this brief summary. I would like to know the history of each one and do this summary for myself and post here for everyone, but unfortunately I do not know and I do not have the time for such research either.
I'll edit this post to add every summary that comes up (with credits, of course).
I hope you like this idea.
- Some characters do not exactly have a story, like Duck Hunt, so we can just do this:
Duck Hunt is a game released in 1984 where the player should try to shoot the ducks and avoid shooting the hunting dog that occasionally jumps out as a distraction.
- Some have more than one, like Mario and Link. So let's stick to the main stories like:
"Mario is a plumber who chases villain Bowser to save his beloved Princess Peach." (Ok, maybe not so brief, just an example).
"Link was a young boy who lived in the forest until....."
No need to go into the details of each game (Sunshine, Galaxy, Odissey, Ocarina, Majora's, etc.)
PS: English is not my native language, so any help with that and corrections to the posted stories will be appreciated.
Edit: This is starting to look great. Thanks to everyone helping.
WARNING: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS! That's actually the point... Be careful when reading if you plan to find out the story of the character on your own by playing the game.
CHARACTERS STORY AND PERSONALITY SUMMARY
- Bayonetta (credits: Iann2)
(copy and pasted from wiki)
Bayonetta (real name Cereza) is the eponymous main character and protagonist of the Bayonetta series. She is a coquettish and mysterious Umbra Witch. Considered the black sheep of the Umbra Witches due to her Umbran and Lumen descent in which breaks the respective clan's sacred tenents, she possesses a remarkable talent for Bullet Arts and possessed the Left Eye of Darkness. In the first game, she was sealed away five hundred years ago until she was later found and awaken. Spending twenty years with amnesia, she battles against the angelic hordes of Paradiso and fights to end the malcious plans of the last of the Lumen Sages, Balder.
Months after, Bayonetta in the second game finds her friend and fellow clans member Jeanne taken down to the realm of Inferno after a summon gone wrong. With the help of Rodin, she not only is hounded by angels but even demons and uncovers a deeper plot of a former half of a god conspiring to reclaim his lost power and the truth behind the Witch Hunts.
- Bowser (credits: SmsgPass; insertusernamehere51)
Bowser (formally known as 'King Koopa') is a Turtle/Dragon creature who is best known for being Mario's main nemesis. Often tries to take over the Mushroom Kingdom, most frequently by kidnapping and attemting to marry princess Peach through brute strength, various gadgets, or various powers such as fire breath. Bowser is known for his evil appearance and attitude towards those that oppose him, often coming across as narcissistic, snarky, and rude through his dialogue. However, he does seem to have a bit of a soft side when it comes to Princess Peach or a certain other few characters. He's also a loving father.
- Bowser Jr. (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Bowser's ONLY son. He was introduced in Super Mario Sunshine, wielding a magic paintbrush that he stole from E.Gadd, which allowed him to disguise himself as a dark version of Mario. Bowser had tricked his son into believing Peach was his mother, in order to have him try to kidnap her. After being defeated by Mario, Jr revealed that he knew peach wasn't his real mother, but that he wanted to help his dad defeat Mario. He now joins his dad in most of his schemes, particularly riding the Jr Clown Car, a miniature version of his father's flying vehicle, the Koopa Clown Car.
- Chrom (credits: insertusernamehere51)
A distant descendant of Marth, Chrom is the prince of Ylisse and leader of a milita group called the Shepherds, which defend the country from bandits and the advances of the Mad King Gangrel. Chrom has a baby daughter called Lucina, who has already been detailed.
- Cloud (credits: Reviathan; BoomerDaCat)
A troubled and unorthodox ex-member of Shinra, the elite in Midgar, and a company that harnesses the planet's life as energy. In a turn of fate, Cloud finds himself a member of AVALANCHE, a small underground terrorist organization stationed in Midgar. Headed by Barret Wallace and including Cloud's childhood friend Tifa Lockhart, AVALANCHE seeks to put an end to Shinra's grasp over the Planet's energy.
During AVALANCHE's fight against Shinra, Cloud is assailed with strange visions that appear like nightmarish memories, much of it pertaining to Sephiroth, a first-class in Shinra's military division. As these visions grow in intensity, Cloud is left with less and less control over himself physically and mentally.
AVALANCHE's mission becomes much more complicated as Shinra is now at odds with Sephiroth as well - and Cloud's party find themselves in a cross-continental adventure to learn what exactly Sephiroth's goal is, to stop Shinra and Sephiroth, to save the planet, and hopefully figure out what is wrong with Cloud along the way.
Born royalty from Hoshido, Corrin didn't know anything about this for the entirety of his formative years. He was kidnapped as a newborn by the king of Nohr, a warring nation, and raised believing he was one of Nohr's royalty. He spent all this time in an isolated castle, his only interaction with the outside world through his servants and siblings. This might have given him a peculiar outlook, which could charitably be described as "idealistic," and uncharitably as "naive."
Soon enough, Corrin is thrust into the center of the war between Hoshido and Nohr, where he learns the truth of his heritage, and is pushed to make difficult decisions on who to back, which will eventually determine the fate of both countries.
- Daisy (credits: insertusernamehere51)
The princess of Sarasaland, Daisy was once kidnapped by the alien Tatanga and rescued by Mario. She is a regular of Mario side-games, though her main series appearances are limited to her debut. She's brash and tomboyish, she's a close friend of Peach and is often paired with Luigi, though their relationships is not really developed in game.
- Dark Pit (credits: g6in3d)
Dark Pit is a clone created after Pit destroyed the Mirror of Truth. He could initially fly on his own; however, after a skirmish with Pandora, he relies on Viridi to grant him the Power of Flight. Dark Pit is lifelinked with Pit (if Pit dies/ceases to exists/etc, so does he). He currently serves as an officer for Viridi's Forces of Nature.
(I would love a little more details)
- Dark Samus (credits: Spiteful_Guru; insertusernamehere51)
On the planet Phaaze a highly mutagenic and radioactive substance called Phazon was originated, which spread through the galaxy by means of meteorites. One landed on the planet Tallon IV, and infected a Metroid to the point where it became incredibly mutated and powerful. This creature was a Metroid larva, and through Phazon exposure it grew into one of the most powerful entities ever to exist: Metroid Prime. Strangely, when Samus finally reached the Impact Crater to stop the spread of Phazon on Tallon IV once and for all, there were no signs of the leviathan core, with Metroid Prime itself having become the source of Phazon on the planet. Samus defeated it, however, the remains of Metroid Prime fused with Samus' Phazon Suit, which had been taken from her during the battle. This created a new being made entirely out of Phazon, but shaped like Samus' Power Suit: Dark Samus.
- Diddy Kong (credits: insertusernamehere51; FaelBC)
Donkey Kong's nephew and little buddy. Not much in terms of backstory, but he is energetic and adventurous and has helped DK in numerous adventures, and even saved him, with the help of his girlfriend Dixie.
- Donkey Kong (credits: FaelBC)
Donkey Kong lives in Donkey Kong Island with another members of Kong Family. Often being disturbed by his enemy, King K Rool, he frequently has to fight to save the island or to recover stolen bananas with his friends/family.
DK shows pride in his strength, enjoys eating and hoarding bananas, and is occasionally depicted as an idiot or dopey, but he is the hero of Donkey Kong Island.
- Dr. Mario (credits: insertusernamehere51; FaelBC)
Mario with a PhD, I guess. Uses Megavitamines to destroy colorful viruses which cause Fever or Chill. He takes part in a puzzle game similar to Tetris, Dr. Mario presents Nintendo's mascot Mario as a doctor. The gameplay consists of controlling vitamin capsules composed of two parts in a field of play similar to a glass of remedies, infested by three-color viruses (red, yellow and blue).
- Ganondorf (credits: insertusernamehere51)
[Spoilers for Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword] In the depths of the desert, there is a race called the Gerudo, they are comprised entirely of women, however, every one hundred years, a man is born, and becomes king. Ganondorf Dragmire was one such man. Called the "King of Thieves", Ganondorf despised the Royal Family for forcing his people to live in the desert, which led him to plan to take over Hyrule.
Ganondorf seeked the Triforce, the sacred relic that would grant a wish to anyone who touched it. However, because of Ganondorf's evil heart, the Triforce split into three pieces, each of which chose a bearer that best embodied their essence. Link received the Triforce of Courage, Zelda received the Triforce of Wisdom, and Ganondorf received the Triforce of power. This relic granted him unbelievable powers, including near immortality and the ability to transform into a monstrous beast, Ganon (unlike Link and Zelda, there's only one Ganondorf). Ganondorf was defeated by Link and Zelda, and was sealed away in the Sacred Realm, but he always breaks out, and tries to take over Hyrule. Ganon is also the realization of a curse set upon the original link and Zelda by the demon Demise, which said a reincarnation of Demise's hatred would haunt the spirt of the hero and the blood of the goddess for all eternity
- Ice Climbers (credits: insertusernamehere51)
A duo of unknown relationship. Their vegetables were stolen by a Condor, and they climb mountains tor etrieve them.
- Ike (credits: SilentMasterOfWinds)
Ike is the protagonist of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Distinct from other main characters in not being of royal blood, Ike is a young man raised in the country of Crimea and trained as a mercenary by his father, Greil. When war breaks out between Crimea and neighbouring Daein, eventually encompassing the continent, Ike finds the lost princess of Crimea and, left in charge of the mercenaries after a figure from his father's past murders him in cold blood, sets out to defeat Daein, reinstate Elincia as Queen of Crimea, and avenge his father.
Ike is a compassionate and just man, who speaks his mind on what he believes is right without much thought for the potential consequences. His drive to be stronger and surpass his father was only amplified after his father's death, and by the end of Radiant Dawn Ike is the strongest swordsman in his world.
- King Dedede (credits: insertusernamehere51)
The self proclaimed King of Dream Land. He's greedy and a glutton, and though he's often an enemy of Kirby, they also team up to fight greater threats.
- King K. Rool (credits: Krooli)
The tyrannical king of Kremling isle often finds himself facing off against Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong for their banana horde. In Donkey Kong Country 2 he took Donkey Kong captive in order to get back at the Kong's and take their banana horde as he fought against Diddy and his girlfriend Dixie in his new persona Kaptain K Rool.
Though he lost he still came back in Donkey Kong Country 3 for revenge as he took Donkey Kong and Diddy captive he used his new persona Baron K Roolenstien to face off against Dixie and again he lost.
He then came back in 64 in an attempt to blow up Donkey Kong Isle. As the DK Crew fought through his army he fought them in the boxing ring and again he lost. He survived and one day he might face off against Donkey Kong again.
- Kirby (credits: Solesbee)
Native from the planet, Pop Star, Kirby is a simple guy: he likes his food, he likes his friends, he likes his planet, and he's gonna defend any of these from any thread. He is also very sweet, helping those in need and even befriending those who attacked him. But that doesn't mean he won't do anything, in fact, this pink puffball can fight in almost any way, because he can copy anyone with his inhale ability.
- Link (credits: insertusernamehere51; reallysourpine24)
A hero often reincarnating in the land of Hyrule to save it in times of great danger. There are multiple Links, but they are all reincarnations of the spirit of the hero. All Links share a few common traits: their appearance, their left-handedness (most of the times), their propensity for over-sleeping, their background as living in small towns, etc. Link is also the bearer of the Triforce of Courage, one piece of Hyrule's Sacred Relic, the Triforce, created by the Three Goddesses. The Link in Ultimate is the BOTW incarnation:
Originally a part of the Hylian Imperial Guard, Link was chosen to be the Hylian Champion and act as Princess Zelda's bodyguard. After Calamity Ganon corrupts the Guardians and kills the other four Champions, Link is mortally wounded defending Zelda and is placed in the Shrine of Resurrection in order heal. He awakens a hundred years later with amnesia and is told to free the Champions' Divine Beasts from the Great Calamity's grasp in order to defeat Ganon and save Zelda. Link is shown to be very stoic and silent, this is due to him not wanting to fall under the pressure of the expectations people have for him.
(should we talk about Ocarina's story/timeline? I think it's the most popular/consistent)
- Little Mac (credits: GentlemanBones)
Disregard weight classes, earn belts. "Little" Mackenzie LaMatta [citation needed] is an orthodox swarmer boxer in the light flyweight division that let his Italian American heritage and youth in the Bronx get to his ego. His fists cashed the checks his mouth wrote all the same, and he's out-boxed people many times his weight and height, people with clear and obvious inhuman abilities, and an actual gorilla. Punching outside his weight class usually relies on more traditional outboxing techniques - waiting patiently for an opening, or baiting one out, while staying out of your opponent's reach. But when the playing field is more even, he tends to prefer the pressure game of a swarmer.
- Lucas (credits: manfartwish; PKThron)
Many centures after the events of EarthBound (Ness), we meet Lucas from Tazmily, located on Nowhere Islands. After his mother is killed in a strange incident and his brother Claus is lost in his quest for revenge, Lucas sees the world around him transform to an uncanny and oppressive place. The animals being combined together into mechanical beasts, or the introduction of commerce and commercialism in their quaint little town. How could these things be happening after all they known for years is peaceful farming? Lucas is put through a lot to find the answers and when he does, you might just be a crybaby too.
He sets out with the princess Kumatora, the thief Duster and his dog Boney to nudge society back into place. It turns out that a time-traveling Porky is trying to claim this world as his own, and it's up to our party to stop him once and for all!
- Lucina (credits: PKThoron)
Witnessing the apocalypse first-hand, Lucina and her friends travel back in time to prevent her father's untimely death and to stop the evil god Grima from ending humanity. Disguised as the mysterious swordsman Marth, named after the Hero King of yore, she tries to quietly alter the course of fate, but ends up embroiled in curious matters such as shopping for unusual dresses for her to-be mother and protecting her sibling from giant insects.
- Luigi (credits: reallysourpine24)
Mario's younger and often overshadowed twin brother who accompanies him on many of his adventures. Luigi is much more cowardly and timid than his brother, and has shown to be spooked by many things in the past, ghosts especially. Despite that, he has a kind heart and is able to build up the courage to help anyone that needs his help. While Luigi is often labeled as inferior to Mario, he has shown to outclass him in speed and jumping. He has also saved Mario on multiple occasions.
- Mario (credits: insertusernamehere51)
A cheerful plumber who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom. Often has to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser, but is a man of many talents and skills, including medicine, go-karting, tennis, golf, etc. He, along with his brother Luigi, was brought to his parents via stock, but not before being dropped on Yoshi's Island after a kidnapping attempt from Kamek.
- Marth (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Marth is the prince of the kingdom of Altea, on the continent of Archanea. He is a dexcendant of the legendary hero Anri, who defeated the evil Earth Dragon Medeus with the Falchion, a sword forged from the fang of the Divine Dragon Naga.
Centuries later, Medeus returns and, with his newfounded Dolhr Empire, invaded the continent. Marth's father was killed, his sister was kidnapped, the Falchion was stolen, and Marth himself was exiled to the kingdom of Thalys, where, two years later, he would lead an army to liberate the continent from Medeus, wielding the Fire Emblem and the Falchion, much like his ancestor Anri.
He would come to defeat Medeus a second time, and his feats granted him the title of the Hero-King. Chrom and Lucina are his descendants.
- Meta Knight (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Little backstory, we do know, however, that he is the same species as Kirby. He also commands the flying battleship, Halberd, and leads a band called, what else, the Meta Knights.
- Mewtwo (credits: 11Slimeade11)
Created using the DNA from Mew, a legendary Pokémon, Mewtwo was designed to be the strongest Pokémon. It was created on February 6th, and due to horrific genetic experiments and splicing, it became vicious and had to be sealed away in Cerulean Cave, where only those stronger than the Elite Four can pass.
In terms of personality, Mewtwo's personality seems to be more similar to it's movie incarnation, rather than being a feral and brutal Animal like stated in the games, being a more cold and calculated supervillain type.
- Ness (credits: reidiantdawn; PKThron)
He appears in the game Earthbound, the second game in the MOTHER series. Once a normal boy who loved baseball and lived in Onett, his life was changed when a meteorite crashed near his home. Ness and Pokey (aka Porkey) encounters an alien named Buzz-Buzz, a psychic insect from the future who tells him a prophecy about four heroes who will defeat Gigyas.
Buzz-Buzz is soon killed by Pokey's mother, so he passes his quest of saving the world onto Ness. Ness is given the Sound Stone and talked with recording eight melodies from eight special locations. On the way, he gains three allies - Jeff, Paula, and Poo, and travels to a variety of places, including a town ruled by a cult, a twisted version of Fourside, and his own version of Magicant. Ness's neighbour Porky, who ends up working with Giygas, attempts everything to stop our heroes and take over the world himself...
In his game, Ness is actually incapable of learning PSI (aka PK) Fire, Thunder, and Starstorm. His signature move is PSI Rockin', which the player can change the name of in the beginning of the game.
(Oh, and Ness and Lucas aren't really related. The only thing they share is one certain villain.)
- Olimar (credits: KarateManJoe)
Olimar is a space delivery man who works at Hocotate Freight, a company regularly struggling with debt, to support his family: his wife, two children, and his dog Bulby. He's slightly conceited in nature but shows great love and devotion to his family, and has an interest in biology.
During the events of Pikmin 1, Olimar took a space vacation but crash landed on PNF-404 (Which is Earth many years in the future), scattering his ship across the planet. Here he discovers Pikmin, plant-animal hybrids who were on the verge of extinction. The Pikmin treat Olimar as their leader, and their partnership benefits both of them greatly: Olimar returns home and the Pikmin learn to fend for themselves.
It should also be noted that Olimar has a deep baritone voice not used in the Smash Bros games for some reason.
- Pac-Man (credits:ScarecrowJC)
Originally appearing in an Arcade game of the same name. PAC-MAN's goal was to eat all the power pellets in a maze while avoiding its four ghost hosts. While relatively simple in comparison to modern day games, its iconic sounds and elegant design has allowed it to remain as easy to pick up and play as any other game. Now joining the roster in Super Smash Brothers, PAC-MAN performs manoeuvres that mimic his appearance in other games, while also uniquely transforming between his 2-D and 3-D character model.
- Palutena (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Palutena is the Goddess of Light and ruler of Skyworld. She used to rule it alongside Medusa, but Medusa was evil, so Palutena banished her to the Underworld.
(I would love a little more details)
- Peach (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Princess Peach Toadstool is the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, who lives on her castle on the edges of Toad Town, the kingdom's capital. She's very cheerful and stereotypically girly, and is often kidnapped by Bowser.
- Pit (credits: insertusernamehere51; TheNadoSpecial)
Pit is the captain of Palutena's guard. Despite his wings, he is unable to fly unless equipped with the Wings of Icarus or when Palutena grants him the Power of Flight.
After climbing up to Skyworld from the underworld Pit saved the goddess of light Palutena and took a 25 year hiatus. When he returned Medusa was resurrected once more only to strike her down again, as well as her commanders incluiding Twin Bellos, Hewdraw, Thanatos, and Pandora (last one is important since his reflection Dark Pit was created through the mirror of truth though he is incomplete) .
Unfortunately medusa was a puppet as the one who resurrected her was Hades, the true master of the Underworld. Hades starts a war with the Wish Seed and it's up to Pit and Palutena to stop it. He meets Viridi, goddess of nature, who wants to destroy mankind, gets the three sacred treasures destroyed and than gets eaten by Hades. He meets with Dyntos, god of the forge, and asks for a weapon that doesn't fall apart but it's main function is that it does fall apart to become a new weapon (funny huh). He than challenges Hades, destroys his physical body and become Champion of Skyworld.
(Is someone able to clear it up a bit? I don't know if my english is too bad or if it's a little confusing)
- Pokémon Trainer (Red) (credits: 11Slimeade11)
First appearing in Pokémon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow, Red, also known as 'The Pokémon Trainer', set off from Pallet Town on his own adventure, alongside his lifelong rival, Blue Oak. Red successfully collects all of the eight badges of Kanto and challenges the Elite Four. Given that Red has all three starters, it's safe to say he might be based on his Yellow, Gold, Silver or Crystal incarnation.
Red doesn't have much of a personality, and one of his defining traits, being mute, isn't even present in Smash.
- Richter (credits: AlphTM)
Much like his ancestor Simon, Richter Belmont was born set to inherit the Belmont legacy of slaying vampires and the Vampire Killer. Dracula revived, again, in the late 18th century, attacking the towns and kidnapping Richter's fiance. Richter would naturally go on to save the terrorized citizens and put Dracula down once again.
Richter is given more character-building moments than Simon, originating from games with cutscenes. He's shown to face adversity straight on, with the utmost intensity, but reassuring and gentle to those who've been terrorized by the legions of hell.
However, a few years later, Dracula's castle appeared once more, with Richter having disappeared inside of it. This peculiar behavior was enough to rouse Alucard, Dracula's son, to wake from his eternal slumber. Alucard, knowing the depth of his father's evil, does not want to just leave such oddities alone, so he ventures into the castle himself...
- Ridley (credits: MBergdorf)
A high-ranking general of the nefarious Space Pirates, he led the raid that annihilated the space colony K2-L. He met a young human girl named Samus Aran, and found her attempt to make friends with him pitifully adorable. When Samus's father sacrificed himself to detonate the colony's fuel supplies, Ridley was forced to devour the colonists' corpses to regenerate his crippled body.
Many years later, he and a rogue Chozo AI named Mother Brain laid waste to the last-known Chozo colony on planet Zebes. Here, he was defeated by Samus, infused with Chozo DNA and weaponry.
Vowing revenge, he and the Space Pirates that serve him rebuilt his body with cybernetic enhancements and new weapon systems, earning himself the name Meta-Ridley. Thwarted again and again by Samus, his body slowly began to regenerate past his augmentations, accelerated again by the mutagenic poison known as Phazon.
He was fully biological by the time Samus left behind the Infant Metroid with the Galactic Federation, and stole it in hopes to clone an army of the galaxy's greatest threat. He met his end when Samus killed him in the molten depths of Zebes, and the planet's destruction ensured that he could never return.
The only remains of the monster are the gore and viscera stuck to Samus's Power Suit, harvested by the Galactic Federation by accident when they tried to duplicate his Metroid experiment. The Ridley clone was killed by a clone Metroid Queen on the Bottle Ship, the body devoured by an X-parasite on the BSL station.
- Robin (credits: insertusernamehere51)
[Fire Emblem Awakening spoliers] Robin was found unconcious in a field by Chrom and the shepherds. He was amnesiac, but his abilities as a tactician won him the trust of the Shepherds and he soon grew to become Chrom's best friend and right hand man. He later discovers that he is the son of the evil priest Validar, who intends to revive the Fell Dragon Grima and use Robin's body as a host for it. When Robin was a baby, his mother fled with him to save him from this fate.
- Rosalina (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Adoptive mother of the Lumas, which are, essentially, baby stars. Rosalina was originally a girl from Earth (or whatever the Mario equivalent of Earth is). She once found a young Luma who crash landed in a rusted spaceship. The Luma missed her mother, and Rosalina agreed to help look for her, so they set out into space. However, after a long time adrift in space, the Luma's mother couldn't be found, and Rosalina never again saw her own mother. Because of this, Rosalina and the Luma decided to take care of each other, and began building their own home in a comet they found. This home grew to be the Comet Observatory. As they built the CO, more Lumas came by, and Rosalina began taking care of them. Now, as an adult, Rosalina acts as the mother of all baby stars. She never saw her mother again, and never returned home, though, every one hundred years, she passed by with her Comet over her home planet, causing a starfall that becomes a centennial festival in the Mushroom Kingdom.
When Bern started to invade all of Lycia and Roy's father fell ill, it was up to Roy to round up and lead an army to stop Bern. His sword, the Binding Blade is a royal treasure of Bern which he gained access to by using the Fire Emblem.
Roy is not an adept fighter, but he excels in being a tactician and leader for his army. He always tries to reach the best outcome possible for everyone involved.
- Samus (credits: insertusernamehere51; MystDragon3k)
Samus Aran was born on the Planet K-2L, and was orphaned at a young age when the Space Pirates raided her home, lead by Ridley. She was taken in by the Cchozo, a dying race of bird-like aliens, which trained her to be a warrior, and fused her DNA with theirs to grant her superhuman abilities . They also granted her the iconic Power Suit. After many years with the Chozo, she lef the planet to join the police force of the Galactic Federation where she served under Commander Adam Malkovich. She left the forced after Adam sacrificed his own brother to save 300 innocents, and she went solo as bounty hunter and the Space pirates' worst nightmare.
- Sheik (credits: insertusernamehere51)
[Ocarina of Time spoilers ahead] During the events of Ocarina of Time, Zelda had to escape the castle when it was taken over by Ganondorf, during the seven years in which Ganondorf ruled over the kingdom, Zelda lived in hiding, disgusing herself as Sheik, a male member of the Sheikah tribe, a mysterious group who act as protectors of the Royal Family of Hyrule.
- Shulk (credits: polonoid75)
In the world of two Titans, the Bionis and Mechonis, Shulk was a budding scientist in the city of Colony 9 on the Bionis. His people, the Homs, were at constant risk of destruction by the beings of Mechonis, the Mechon. One day their colony is attacked by an army of Mechon led by a Mechon with a face. Out of desperation, he attempts to wield the legendary Monado, and is not only able to control it's overwhelming power, but begins to see visions of the future. His home ravaged, he seeks revenge on the Mechon, not only wanting to destroy the faced Mechon, but all of them in general.
In terms of personality, as a scientist he is very smart and thus is able to use his newfound powers of foresight effectively. He is motivated by his goals and caring towards people in general, not wanting harm to come to anyone. He also lacks a good sense of taste, and would eat anything even if it was stone cold.
Simon Belmont, heir to a long line of vampire hunters, and the inheritor of the holy whip, the Vampire Killer. When Dracula revived again in the late 17th century, it was Simon who met him, and eventually defeated him.
In Dracula's dying moments, however, he cursed Simon, and this curse would plague him for 7 years to come, until Simon eventually resurrected Dracula, again, personally, so he could slay him, again.
Simon's actions would help better the reputation of the Belmont family, as they had become feared somewhat as practitioners of witchcraft.
- Sonic (credits: secret_pupper)
A blue hedgehog with a quick tongue and quicker feet, this sassy, spiny speedster has made it his business to protect the world from the evil Dr. Eggman on multiple occasions, be it stopping Eggman's plot to convert animals into robots, rescuing genies in magic books, or saving aliens in an interstellar amusement park. Carefree and egotistical, but not without a kind heart and a peerless sense of justice, Sonic can always be counted on to save the day with his famed spin dash and homing attack. When in possession of the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic becomes Super Sonic, boasting unrivaled speed, near invulnerability, and flight, but he won't stay in this form for too long before reverting to normal.
- Wario (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Wario is the greedy and vulgar antithesis to Mario. Though Wario is more of an antihero than a full on villain, he often causes mischief, and whatever heroic actions he does take, are often motivated by greed. He even stole Mario's castle once, thouch karma struck him when he had his own castle taken from him by his archnemesis Captain Syrup. Though he has gone on many treasure hunting adventures, he has settled in the modren metropolis of Diamond City, where he founded WarioWare Inc, a game developer comprised of him and his friends who make very short, not very good videogames, just as way for Wario to make money.
- Yoshi (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Mario's dinosaur friend and one of a species of the same name. They inhabit Yoshi's Island, and helped an infant Mario to rescue his brother Luigi after being kidnapped by kamek.
- Young Link (credits: insertusernamehere51)
Link is variably depicted as either a teenager or a young boy. In Ultimate, Young Link represents the Ocarina of Time version of Link. A hylian boy, his mother, fleeing the war, elft him in the care of the Great Deku tree, the guardian spirit of the Kokiri race, a tribe of elf-like children who never grow up. Link was raised in the Kokiri Forest, but, due to actually being a Hylian, never received a fairy guardian like the others. However, one day, when the Great Deku Tree was cursed by Ganondorf, it granted Link a fairy companion, Navi, to aid him into saving the world from Ganondorf. This same Link also stars in Majora's Mask, and is one of the few incarnations of Link to star in more than one game.
- Zelda (credits: insertusernamehere51)
The princess of Hyrule, much like Link, there are multiple Zeldas, however, they are actually related by blood. When one Princess Zelda was put into an eternal sleep, her brother, the prince declared that all female members of the Hyrule Royal Family would be called Zelda in her honour. Zelda is the wielder of the Triforce of Wisdom, which allowed her to become a powerful sorcerer. [Skyward Sword Spoilers ahead] All Zeldas are also the descendants of the original Zelda, the daughter of the chief of Skyloft, who was actually a reincarnation of the goddess Hylia. The version in Ultimate is Link to the Past Zelda.
- Zero Suit Samus (credits: PKThoron)
Oh no! As she relaxes in her ship from her successful first mission, young bounty hunter Samus Aran is ambushed by a fleet of Space Pirates and crashlands back on Zebes! Stripped from her Varia Suit, Samus has to infiltrate the Pirates' mothership in her iconic, breathable and skintight Zero Suit. As she sneaks around the ship, she takes the poor critters for fools with a stunning performance from her Paralyzer, leaving the bewildered enemies in her track!
After uncovering their juicy secrets, Samus remembers those strange blocks throughout Zebes that have annoyed her all her mission long, so she retrieves her suit from the sacred site of the Chozo to backtrack through the entire game for one of the more annoying 100% quests in Metroid! Finally, she ransacks a poor (and rather random) replica of her nemesis Ridley and makes her stylish escape from the Space Pirates' self-attributed demise.
