just got done watching one of the most viewed streamers on Smite and here is what i see

1) instalocks agni

proceeds to say "its just casual i play whatever i want"

someone says "that instalock" and he response "i don't care what my morons think" (talking about his teammates)

then proceeds to take red buff as the "support" ... the second time the mid is there and this guy "steals" by going in front of the mid to grab it first. And say "i want to see what this 0-2 retard has to say" (he had every play muted before that)

I mean of course the community is going to be toxic as hell when you have guys like this, guys like DM and guys like Weak3n as your top streamers ... and you continue to support them and not take action against them.

mobas are toxic enough to begin with but at least other games don't have guys like these that are outright promoting toxicity with their actions and words.

Abyssal Agni has a problem with his 2

Abyssal Acolyte Agni's 2 does not linger for the half-second at the end of its hitbox. It still does for the other skins i tried so it isn't a stealth nerf. So i just had the most frustrating game in which i rarely was able to hit the 2 and then 1 combo on Agni. Unsure if i was bad or not, i checked in jungle practice and the 2 vanishes as soon as it stops moving. It is still possible to stun with the 2 as long as the 1 is close to yourself. As someone who likes to toss the 2 and then wait the half-second for the 1, this hurts. I also think the 1 was a slight delay on appearing but that could be ping on my end.

Why Silverbranch Bow is a Mistake and a Failure

I want to discuss not only why SBB is a bad item in its upcoming form, but also why it is bad in general to have an item like this. The first time I saw this item I though it was just a bad tasteless joke, but it seems like it's actually becoming reality now so I wanted to talk a little about it.

Why don't I just build AS?

There is a simple reason you don't just go all in on one stat. Each build you create always offers different kinds of stats with different implications. You can group them in different ways but the most basic differentiation would be defensive and offensive. Obviously things like protections are defensive, while power is offensive. But stuff like CDR is a bit more diverse, as it usually increases offense, but also offers more survivability via more frequent sustaining abilities or escapes. It's usually recommended to have a more balanced build, so you can exert offensive pressure without dying while not being unkillable while having no impact. Where leaves that AS? It's one of the most direct ways to increase your damage while only increasing it in a very specific way (multiple hitting basic attacks over a long period). As it is also reliant on your power, increasing both at the same time leads to the highest DPS per increase (for example to double your DPS you can either double power and AS - a 200% increase in stats - or quadruple either - a 300% increase in stats).

Why do I have to balance my builds?

It's not that you have to. Some builds require heavy synergy, like crit items relying on each other. But even in those cases, to compensate for that it's usually combined with lifesteal. The goal is to make the most efficient builds, that give you the most amount of (synergistic) stats for the least amount of gold. If you build more efficiently than an equally skilled opponent you will have a strict advantage at certain points (power spikes) throughout the match. It's a more simple way to gain an advantage over an opponent that doesn't require any mechanical skill, so it can be used by a wide variety of people, in case it's actually possible to build more efficiently to begin with.

What is the role of SBB?

The role of this item is quite obvious. It acts as a buffer. In case you build enough attack speed to go over the cap you get a lesser return on your investment. Most likely this is achievable by using steroids. The problem with this concept can be noted in different problem areas:

  1. Without a steroid it's very expensive (build-wise, not cost-wise) to cap your AS. this means you will be severely lacking other stats, like power, which could be increased by a lot more.
  2. You are not playing around your steroid, you are playing despite it, treating the "free" stats you gain as some currency you exchange for less than it is worth. This also directly goes into the next point.
  3. As most stats, AS suffers from diminishing returns. Basically, the first 50% AS increase your DPS by 50%. The second 50% only increase your DPS by 33% relatively. This further shows why it's better to improve different stats.
  4. Most players familiar with building will just ignore this item, as it basically just gives you a compensation if you messed up.
  5. Most players unfamiliar with building could be lured in by the reward, not noticing it's an item that rewards you for building badly and/or not building around your character.

Maybe just buff the item to make it more viable?

Unless you seriously improve the stats it would still end up as a niche item for very few gods. It also doesn't add anything "interesting", it's just a matter of "is the amount of stats bloated enough to warrant a spot in my build". By Smite's design, players are also discouraged from building too much of just one incremental (CDR and CCR and not incremental, they are reductions, so the more you have of those the better they become) stat, for example, high flat pen gets countered by protections, high protections get countered by % pen, etc. The game pushes you into a direction that makes you build more balanced, so you have an incentive to build well. Now this could be accepted as okay if it offered decent synergy with existing items, but the builds most reliant on AS are Qin's builds, which care less about power and more about getting your Qin's damage through, which means pen. These kinds of builds also tend to have less synergy with usual hunter defensive options like lifesteal and get more from increasing mobility, so you have more item slots open to use. This means that giving pen instead of power would be a powerful alternative.

What to do then?

The obvious shift from power to pen would likely make it into a core Quin's build item for steroid hunters. The main issue would still remain, in that you reward players for building badly and wasting stats, but at least instead of giving a little bit of everything you get an item tailored to a very specific role. It would still remain a big trap for newer players though, so I don't personally think it's a good direction either way. With Fatalis gone and Atalanta's being a fairly weak substitution it's questionable if full on Quin's builds could even work. In either case, The design team seriously needs to take a hard look at this item and think hard if it's healthy for the game to reward bad builds.

tl;dr

giving an incentive to build badly is bad; pen is better than power for Qin's; balanced builds and diminishing returns are a thing

Okay I was in jungle practice the other day trying stuff out and I was playing some builds on Khepri. Then. I thought does he get damage mitigation and if you use your 2 then dash through two you actually won't get damage mitigation. Is that supposed to be the case?

Class: Warrior

LORE: Under the mighty roots of the mighty Yggdrasil, lies a beast of unimaginable horror.A creature of evil and malice, a cold blood killer that devours anything in its path. A creature that one by one, destroy the roots of Yggdrasil, bringing it to its end. That horrifying creature is Nidhogg, the bane of the tree.

One of the cosmic animals that inhabit the tree itself, Nidhogg is a dragon with a massive appetite for everything. He enters into the realm of Náströnd to feast on the bodies of the foul wicked but even that it's not enough for him. To satisfy his hunger, Nidhogg also gnaws on the roots of Yggdrasil, not caring at all for the consequences of eating the veins of the tree that hold all life in place. Some say that the real reason he destroy the roots of the tree is to defeat the wise eagle at the top of Yggdrasil, who is blowing away the leaves and branches of the tree with his mighty wings. The reason for this ridicules contest is unknown, but it could have been stopped long ago if Ratatoskr the squirrel would have stopped helping the conflict by sanding insults and jabs in the two rivals name across that impossible distance.

But in those strange times, Nidhogg smelled something new. A smell of blood, and not just any blood, blood of a god. Nidhogg climbed on the world tree to see from where this lovely smell comes from. He raised his gaze and witnessed gods clash against each other. How wonderful, he thought to himself, finally something that would satisfy him. No more he will feast on corpses and roots, for today, Nidhogg will fill his belly with the flesh of gods.

APPEARANCE: Nidhogg will look like a Linworm, he will have a long serpentine body with two arms. He will have greenish brown scales and two gnarled horns. He will attack with his claws.

  • PASSIVE - Chthonic Predator
    A tunnel appears at the last location that each enemy god dies. With those tunnels Nidhogg can reach almost anywhere on the map. If there is only one tunnel on the map Nidhogg will automatically go back to the fountain, but if they are multiple tunnels, then Nidhogg would be able to go teleport to different locations all across the map. A tunnel is destroyed after it has been used or after two minutes.
  • ABILITY I - Tail Swipe
    Ability Type: Area
    NIdhogg sweeping his tail in a circle, damaging and stunning enemies.
  • ABILITY II - Dragon Roll
    Ability Type: Dash
    Nidhogg rolls forward, damaging any minion in his path and stopping on the first enemy god, jumping and damaging the god.
  • ABILITY III - Root Smash
    Ability Type: Line
    NIdhogg rips one of Yggdrasil's roots from the ground and smash the root in a line, damaging any enemy in sight. This ability also creates a tunnel.
  • ULTIMATE - Devour of The Tree
    Ability Type: Teleport
    Nidhogg dive into the ground and travel across the map. Nidhogg then burst out of the ground in a selected location, damaging every enemy around him on impact. Bursting out of a tunnel will double the damage.

Can we have reduced tp loss when someone leaves our team?

I appreciate the change to no tp loss when someone dcs before the game starts and we surrender, too many times now has someone fed and left 3 minutes into the game and we can't surrender early.

Its frustrating for this to happen and discourages me from playing ranked. For an alternative, can there be an extended ranked ban period for the person that leaves. Ranked is in an embarrasing state, really.

For The Love of God, This Game Needs An Avoid As Teammate Option.

It seriously sucks getting the same players who have 0 clue what they are doing over and over again. Previously you could use the "the matchmaking would take longer" but with the wave queues (or whatever its called) it wouldn't even be a problem.

I know this post will probably get downvoted, but it seriously makes since to add this. no one wants bots on their team every game.
