Skyrim - Nobody deserves such a horrible death...

Nobody deserves such a horrible death...

Sven died. It was hilarious.

Sven was my steward. I'd had him for quite a while. Not too long ago, a giant started living in my back yard. He was mostly harmless. I needed some clay for a bit of my house. Sven was outside, so I left the house to order the clay. My sense of hearing hit me first; a courier screamed for help. Then, I saw, right in front of me, the giant wanted to come in for a visit. He'd gone hostile. I ran up to the enchanter's tower I'd just built, ready to send all of my arrows into my visitor's head. Sven ran out the front door. He had no gear, just the default. He died in one hit. I got an arrow ready for the giant, but it started running away. I went downstairs. The courier told me he had a note. My eyes only. A large sum of money and a letter of inheritance... For Sven. He'd just died right there and then. Also, there was a note from Calcelmo. I now have Sven's body next to my house as compost. I have now started the search for my new steward, as Lydia and Uthgerd both conveniently disappeared from the face of Nirn. Makes me wish the Dragonborn could put up bounties. I'd love to see that giant's head on a pike.

Doing a Mage-Only play through for the first time.

Posted: 19 Aug 2018 05:42 AM PDT

Never played pure Mage before, I've always used magic as a supplementary to either my Thief or Warrior characters.

I'm wear just mage robes, boots, and gloves. (With Magicka rings, necklace, and circlet)

So far it's quite the gameplay shift, I find that I'm burning through magic potions like a skooma addict.

Having to heavily invest in Alteration for Mage Armor as well is quite the change. I find myself way more cautious than even my Thief character, and I'm using companions more often.

On the upswing I'm rich as fuck from all the loot I can carry since I don't have armor and weapons weighing me down.

College Of Winterhold in the morning. (Mods used here are Noble Skyrim, Mythical Ages on Fantasy preset, Ethereal Clouds, & Fluffy Snow for the Snow)

Spoke to Ulfr the blind today in White River Watch, seen “Ulfr’s Book” on the table. Wondered why a blind man needed a book... couldn’t stop laughing for half an hour.

I really like this game

Posted: 18 Aug 2018 05:02 PM PDT

I love it actually. I avoided it for years like an idiot. "Big as a lake deep as a pond" was what I had heard. I've been playing it non stop, I steal everything, I'm a proud milk drinker, I love going out to hunt some foxes, I can't stop hoarding literature, You can adopt kids?!, I love making Lydia carry my stuff so I can barter it when we get home, I like the nord women, and I like mixing up some cave goop to make potions. I am really enjoying this game and I haven't even made my way to the gray bearded men yet. Thank you Skyrim community for remaining active and showing me the way.

Skyrim Console Help

Posted: 19 Aug 2018 06:38 AM PDT

Hey all. Been in love with the game forever been playing it on console since release date.

I went to a buddy's house the other day and saw his level 56 clear some caves and stuff and realized he didn't know a few tricks that I assumed a 56 would know. so i figured I would add them here. One is very beneficial for everyone and the other is only for sneaking... so everyone.

FAVORITES (1 & 2s). yes on console you favorite the items and spells you like, obviously. But when you're fighting and use the d pad to open the favorites list on the left side of the screen, HOLD LEFT D PAD on one item and HOLD RIGHT D PAD on another item. This will add a 1 and a 2 to those items and you no longer need menus to access those item. If you do left dpad for a spell, hitting it once will put that spell in the left hand. Hit it again to put in both. Example, left healing. Right flames. So walk to enemy with bare fists. Right right, dual flames. Get a kill, take some damage... left left, dual healing. Without ever opening a menu.

SNEAK SPRINT set a bow or a one handed melee weapon to 1 or 2, from up above. Use a bow to get the gist of it first. CROUCH and move forward! While you're moving hit left or right on the d pad, whichever is set to the bow. Your character will draw the weapon while crouched and you will see their movement speed skyrocket while still being in the crouched stance and mechanic. Once you stop moving, jump, or interact their speed will go back to what the normal crouched speed is. This will work for a bow, a one handed weapon as long as the left hand is empty, and it'll work if both hands are empty. Or BOUND SWORD in right hand, empty left hand. Cast bound sword while sneaking and moving and you'll see it there too without having to switch weapons. I hope this said well enough to understand because as a sneaky dagger player this is way too beneficial.

I hope this is new to even two people out there. I found out the 1 & 2 d pad literally by accident years ago and I remember explaining it to a twitch streamer and he didn't know about it either. Adds more flow to the game.

Very late, I understand. If it wasn't explained well enough I will try to add a video if necessary but you should get the hang of it pretty easily. Please try on PC too. Maybe mods got rid of the sprint exploit but I'm sure there's a way to quick map spells and weapons like our d pad. Anything to keep me out of the menus is worth a try.

Good luck to all, protect your knees.

I got a new Xbox One X and lost all my good spells when I tried to continue my game. Does anyone know how to fix this? Missing ccbgssse014-spellpack01.esl

I have got to admit Bethesda did an amazing job fixing the inconsistent voices between same NPCs from Oblivion in Skyrim.

Posted: 19 Aug 2018 07:06 AM PDT

By having the same voice actor for every NPC...

Where can I find a Pure Mage Dragon Priest Mask?

Posted: 19 Aug 2018 03:55 AM PDT

Are there any dragon priests masks without armor? I'm trying to stay true to the roleplay and not wear any armor, (my mage armor would be useless otherwise anyway) but can't find any masks with no armor rating.
