Today was by far my luckiest day in Pokémon GO ever!

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:25 AM PDT

I went out today, my usual walk the dogs around the block and get some walking distance routine. I enjoy playing the game, and I have four pokestops and a gym close to my house, so it's a pretty fun routine to walk around the block with my dogs and just get some egg distance done. Anyway, it was somewhat uneventful, I was stocking up on easy evolution Pokemon in case this double evolution xp rumour is true. I caught a Whismur, since I have a lot of candy for it, and lo and behold it was actually a Ditto! Dittos aren't too crazy to me anymore, I have eight, but it's still always cool to get one. That was where my luck began. I was about to head home, when I realised I still had a lot of energy and the dogs could still use a bit more of a walk. I took them up to another field where I used to walk them occasionally, since I hadn't been for a while and I knew it also had a gym and a pokestop. I got onto that field, took care of some of my dogs business, and when I looked back at my screen... A WILD GYARADOS WAS NEARBY! If that wasn't already insane enough, it was at the pokestop closest to me which happened to be the exact spot I would always take my dogs to have a run around! Bear in mind, I live in the hills, so this guy had spawned in the only decent stretch of water for kilometres around - a ten metre diameter pond. I put my dogs back on their leads and RAN to that pokestop as fast as I could! The big fella popped up on my screen, and I was absolutely buzzing. He had less than 400 CP, but I didn't care at all, a wild Gyarados is a wild Gyarados! I caught it and absolutely buzzing decided to take the dogs home. Just when I thought my luck was up, on the street near my house, I went to catch an Aron since I really like them. I thought to myself "wouldn't it be funny if on top of all this, I bagged a shiny Aron too?" As if on cue, I loaded into the Aron battle and he was shiny. I absolutely flipped. I caught him, and just before I reached my house, I hatched a 10km egg and got a Larvitar, something I'm always very happy to have for its candies.

TL;DR In about one hour, I managed to find a Ditto, catch a wild Gyarados, a shiny Aron, and hatch one of my favourite 10km Pokemon, Larvitar. What a good walk!

EDIT: Thanks for all the great comments guys! I'm so happy this has brought back great memories for so many people. Please share your luckiest Pokémon GO encounters/days, I'm loving reading them all and I'm sure everyone else is too!

Tough crowd, tough crowd. Posted this earlier as if I had seen an event Digglet, but I decided I should repost it so it was more clear :p

I woke up this morning and of course the first thing I do is open PoGo, only to find this gem. A Digglet overlaying an event Pikachu. I'd love to see this drawn!

Have a wonderful day!

When walking to hatch eggs and such, try carrying an empty trash bag to pick up recyclables and trash. It will make your walks much more rewarding.

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 08:22 PM PDT

I was able to convince the people at r/trees to leave their smoke spots cleaner than they found them so I figured I would try again with you all. Bringing a small plastic bag and picking up a can or bottle while walking your eggs can do a lot of good. It give you a super rewarding feeling and you community will look niver and it will make people happy! Give it a try I'm sure you will love it. Please check out r/detrashed if this kind of stuff interests you.

1 Star Raids - make them so no pass is required?!

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 02:08 PM PDT

I just started playing again after the initial launch a few years ago, and LOVE the raids. the only thing is, with 1 pass a day (or maybe an extra one every 3 days from the gym) i find it's not worth doing the 1 star RAIDS. but i still find them just as fun being able to solo it. The rewards aren't great but it could really help get more people involved in raids and increase popularity. Would love it if they changed it so no raid pass was required for 1 star raids, what do you guys think?

Celebi in the Jungle Habitat

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 01:49 PM PDT

I've been holding onto my Celebi since Go Fest trying to get some good AR shots but the best one I took was at Go Fest. The habitats they put up were sooo good for pics. This one is at the Jungle Habitat. Right above they built a really cool looking fake bridge but I couldn't get it in the same shot. I'll hold off on catching Celebi in hopes of some more AR worthy pics.

FINALLY beat Machamp with over 60 seconds!

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:25 PM PDT

I've been trying forever to finish a Machamp raid with over 60 seconds left, which has been eluding me until today! It seems impossible without finding a raid in cloudy (yes cloudy) weather, which finally worked in my favor today!
Anybody have 70/80 seconds left or should I just be happy with this? Champ Down at 64

Things do get better!

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:05 PM PDT

It has been a long hard time. At the beginning of this everything was exciting and promising. The atmosphere was positive. Me and everyone else got involved to get the best of it.

But it wasn't long before everything dramatically changed. Not that it wasn't expected, i definitely knew. But i don't know what was it that made the change to the worse took everyone so harshly.

After just few days i barely had the motivation to go on. No, i barely had the motivation to go out and leave the house. It was also so hot and sunny. The hat and the sunglasses definitely didn't help. Suddenly the thing that i was so eager to get became a huge burden. I was trying to find an easy way to get red of it. But i was just wishing. I screamed for help, but nobody could hear me.

It was really a disparate moment. Not just for me, but for everybody around me. All hope was lost. And soon depression started to kick in.

But i was always strong. I always was an optimist. I never lost hope. This can't stay like that, i thought. It will change someday. Things will be better.

Without me even realizing, it was gone! It felt like huge pain pulled out of my chest. Like i can finally breath again. It was gone! No trace of it anywhere. It was gone! I was right. Things do get better. Sunglasses Pikachu is finally gone!!!

Thank you Niantic! Thanks to everyone who helped in this! You made my life better.

I promise you, from now on, I'll change. I'll be a better person.

Phw, what a relief! 😅

Got a non lucky 100% IV Tyranitar from a trade with my GF

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:19 AM PDT

We couldn't believe it when we saw it, after doing a Tyranitar raid and getting bad Tyranitars we decided to trade them, i am really shocked by the fact that the Tyranitar has 100% IV and is not even lucky.

I've played the game since it came out, but my girlfriend on the other hand, has not played in over a year. So every time she leaves her phone alone... I take one of her pokemon by trading. I wonder if she'll ever notice.

PoGo helping an American in Germany

PoGo helping an American in Germany

Pokemon Go has really helped me connect with people here in Germany while I'm here on business. I only speak English so it can be difficult, but a screen shot of all my Tauros and Illumise I brought in a local Discord was all I needed to get some attention. The players here have been great and I have made a trade almost everyday for the 2 weeks I've been here. Without this game I wouldn't have been able to meet the cool people I did. Most trades netted me something like unown I didn't have, but some I just traded because the Tauros made them happy. I even joined a large raid train for the Zapdos event. I return home next week, knowing my trip was made better by this game (and packing a ton of Mr. Mimes and Volbeat)

My best trade was for a shiny sunglasses Squirtle that ended up lucky and 89% IV :D

I'm super excited to finally get shiny Eevee-lutions, but honestly I think my favorite is the grey Eevee!

Who are you most excited to evolve your Eevee into? Will you be saving any for future evolutions?

[Idea] Let me make gifts or have different gift tiers

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:38 AM PDT

I really enjoy gifts, but I wish they made different versions/tiers. I have some friends I'm leveling up to get cheaper trades with, and others who are my IRL friends and I'd like to help them out more.

T1 - regular pokeballs, revives, Razz Berries
T2 - Great balls, hyper potions, revive/max revives
T3 - Ultra Balls, pinap berries, max potions/revives, evo items
T4 - Rare candies, extra ultra balls, max pots/revives
T5 - TM's! Rare pokemon!

Obviously they get more rare the higher tier it is, but it would make the whole gifting thing a little more fun and exciting. Get a T5 gift would be really exciting to be able to gift to your good friends/spouse.

OR Let me make a gift. Let me put pokeballs, and pots or revives in it. If I can drive around at night let me help my friends out be sending them a few extra ultra balls.

Thoughts?

What are the odds of specific raid bosses spawning?

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:38 AM PDT

It seems I always see the same couple of raid bosses regardless of circumstances, while some being very rare. For instance, I haven't seen a single Alolan Raichu since the rotation despite seeing well over 10 tier 3 raids a day on average since then.

Allow different bags for your Pokemon.

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:05 AM PDT

I was playing today when I came up with what I think needs to happen. I know there is a post for the suggestions and I will comment there, but I thought it would get more notice as a post so here it is.

Allow trainers to have something like 5 labeled bags they can move their pokemon between (like the box storage in the game). That way I could put the stuff I want to keep in one bag, trade in another, work on powering up in another, evolutions in another for lucky egg time, etc. You could have a simple interface that allowed you to select multiple, then beside the transfer button have a "move to" button that let you move them to another bag. I feel like its so time consuming to always scroll to the bottom, or search for a specific group, or have to rename everything, then sort by name to see them grouped.

Opinions?

Edit: Spelling

[Complaint] Fix the battle ending early bug!

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 02:56 AM PDT

This bug makes me feel that Rayquaza is very bad, Outrage has a late damage window. Nearly every time I use an Outrage at 6 seconds left, I get timed out, despite the boss HP will be emptied after the Outrage. This even happened to my Hydro Cannon Blastoise; used it at 6 seconds left, hit at 5 seconds, time out, damn. It is already hard to do Flareon/Donphan raids, don't make them harder, please.

Ice and Fire.

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

...I had to fill 100 characters with something, didn't i?
