Posted: 14 Aug 2018 05:55 PM PDT Here's the most recent thread regarding the issue. In ff14, there's a demolition timer on every house that resets as soon as you actually enter it. Previously it was set to 45 days though there have been reports of it silently going down to 30. They used to also email you if you hadn't used your house in 30 days, warning you that you'd lose it if you didn't log back in and enter it, however this has also disappeared and you simply don't know when you'll lose your house if you don't use it very often. People have recently logged in within the past few days, some even entering within the last day, and the house simply disappearing. On top of that, the support simply won't return their houses to them, though they acknowledge the bug exists. Players work really hard to obtain these houses, and now they can just disappear without you being able to do anything about it. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 14 Aug 2018 09:06 PM PDT I was unaware of the general feeling of 'very good, not amazing' that most had because I've been out of gaming about 6 years and just recently am catching up. Not saying anyone's criticisms were wrong - most of them I felt a little, but not nearly enough to call it a disappointing end to a great trilogy, or even call it anything less than a beautifully and amazingly well made game. I never bother trying to 100% games really, but I had an absolute blast doing it with Arkham Knight. It is up there with MGS5 in terms of perfectly balanced and rewarding gameplay experiences, I loved how they didn't mess with the hand to hand formula that was basically perfect already - just added certain elements that were purely optional and aesthetically enhance the combat, but none were really essential. You could fight just like you did in Asylum or City and do just fine, but the special super moves like the large radius freeze grenade, powered up electrical gun etc. were awesome to look at. I was nervous the Batmobile would be leaned on heavily to make the game stand apart from previous entries, and to pad out the gameplay time, but honestly I loved the gameplay of it so much that I didn't care that they ended up somewhat overusing it. It wasn't much of a challenge, but I thought the really fast paced dodge, shoot motion matched the rhythmic sort of style of the melee combat really well, and I honestly didn't tire of it until towards the very end. Also, the driving was great, and the Batmobile handles more efficiently and smoothly than any car in any other game I've played. It's just a shame it's in an empty and abandoned city I guess. I thought the story, though far more contained and linear than City, was a perfect 'final chapter in a trilogy' story. It was somber and everything constantly felt like it was coming closer and closer to the end for Batman. That Arkham Knight twist was painfully predictable, but honestly, the Jason Todd hallucinations before it and the way it was revealed was done so brilliantly in my opinion I didn't really mind the predictability of it. I was let down that he didn't come into play more at the very end, and we didn't see more dialogue between the 'reformed' Jason and Batman post-Scarecrow fight. It didn't make sense that Batman wouldn't try to track down Jason right after defeating Scarecrow, even if he was in a rush to hang up the Cowl. But this is a nitpick really overall. The game thrives in its detail and care for little things many players won't even notice or reach. The riddle starts to feel a little tiresome towards the end, but then you find a riddle in which 8 paintings in random order are actually telling the story of human life, birth to death, and you have to figure it out to move on. I loved that sort of thing. I guess my only real disappointment was that certain elements weren't capitalized on more - the multi character combat was really seemless and felt great, but it was so rare in the game. Deathstroke's boss fight was a huge letdown actually, I mean I couldn't wait to have a great final showdown after not really having a hand to hand fight with the Knight at all, but then another tank battle? Eh. That did suck. Point is, I enjoyed myself with this game way more than City or Asylum, and I love those games. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 14 Aug 2018 12:38 PM PDT I'm surprised there haven't been any posts on r/games about it already today. No reviews to be seen either, aside from one on a small YouTube channel. I thought it had generated at least a little buzz/anticipation - it is a side scrolling, retro-styled, Dark Souls-esque title after all - but I guess it wasn't as well-known as I assumed. I remember a similar game, Salt & Sanctuary, getting a bit more attention a couple of years ago when it came out. And obviously Dead Cells did well for itself last week, though that had the benefit of being in Early Access for a year beforehand. Edit: On the Steam forums there are a few mentions of a review embargo that goes until midnight on the 14th. If that's true, that might explain things. [link] [comments] |
