Nightfall: Will of the Thousands

Mars. Liberate Rasputin by bringing an end to Xol's infestation of Mars.

Challenges:

  • Unbroken: Complete the Nightfall with fewer than 3 deaths.
  • Three and Out: Stun Xol with the Valkyrie 3 times.

Scoring:

  • Complete the nightfall to receive a 'challenge card' (If you already have one, this will still be in your inventory)

  • Add burns / increase the difficulty on the challenge card to increase the scoring modifier for your run

  • Get a highscore and earn unique weapons and exotic accessories. The higher the score, the higher your chance.


Flashpoint: Mars

Don't forget to buy the Treasure Maps from Cayde-6 as well.


Meditations

  • Six: A crashed colony ship, an interspecies war... Cayde-6 got that adventure he wanted. Go save him from it.
  • Sacrilege: Since the loss of her Light, Ikora has many questions—and she's not leaving Io without answers.
  • A Garden World: Enter the Infinite Forest and steal the algorithm that will let you track Panoptes in the present.
  • Strange Terrain: Enter Hive territory and find Xol's feeding ground. Draw him out and stop him before he can surface.

Weekly Crucible: Mayhem

Faster Supers, abilities, and Power ammo spawns—withstand, and engage in a whirlwind of chaos.


Heroic Strikes Burn: Void Singe

Grab a spare set of green armor for easier blue redux missions.

If you have a character with green armor:-

1)make sure to grab spare from the statue 2)Put it in your vault 3)Upgrade your original green armor 4)wear the green set you vaulted before starting a mission for the blue armor. Once the mission starts, swap the green armor with the blue and you can breeze through it solo.

there is actually a big difference between the green missions and the blue ones. For example I soloed all the blue missions on my hunter and warlock and it was quite a fight, but with my titan i did this trick and it was a lot easier to solo it. Having said that I recommend that you try to solo blue missions at least once. I found them challenging and fun.

this is actually really good if you want to do all characters.

Remember how we used to know how long each ability cooldown was (super, grenade, and melee)? Can we have that back in the menu, so that when we add mods to our gear, we know how effective they are?

the weapon is so reliant on getting critical hits to use it to its full effect, and it doesn't help that it's tiny, and red (the same color as a ton of stuff at the game). i couldn't hit ghaul in the Head last night on my 75" TV to save my life. i know, git gud right?

I really hope Competitive and Trials will have radar again

I was ambivalent to the no-radar currently. It has its pros and cons. I did like that it made it so winning wasn't just up to whether the enemy team was in a party, all watching lanes by sitting at corners looking for red blips.

No radar allowed for some hero plays and strategy, like when I went on a flank solo because my team had been getting left at the start of every match, so I went right, found them ALL grouped up, tossed an Arcbolt (boosted with Arc Web) and killed them all by myself. I took advantage of their expectations and laziness.

But no radar...when you can carry a shotgun...that allows WAY too much luck into the equation. We're going to need radar back in so you can't just get blasted to hell in one shot from someone in a corner you didn't check.

No radar was a nice little experiment but I don't think it will work in the sandbox.

As in title. In the IO adventure called "Unexpected guests" you're tasked with closing a portal that according to Ikora leads to "The Taken realm". Near the end of the adventure you can briefly see into the portal before one of Savathun's minions come through. I've taken screencaps and videos but I can't quite seem to decide whether it looks like The Dreaming City or this concept art https://www.artstation.com/artwork/4LEJ8 in architecture.

Would anyone on a ps4 pro be able to run this mission with a sniper or something and get a better look into this portal?

edit: To the guys downvoting me, I'm sorry that I have to get to sleep in the next 30 minutes since I've been up since 5 pm yesterday due to work, and as a result of that and not having anything on hand with which to transfer the pics from my ps4 I am unable to post said pictures. I am sorry that you guys don't have a copy of the game in which to look this up yourselves. Petition to increase Sunshot's mag size

Finishing the catalyst kills and getting the extra range was nice, but I'd trade it any day for a few more in the mag.

It was a big time sink for a gun where the reload isn't quick and the mag is too small.

Feels like I'm ALWAYS reloading.

Edit: Random showerthought. If we had another 3 or 4 rounds in the mag, we wouldn't have let Cayde down and he wouldn't have died.

It doesn't feel nearly as competitive as it did in D1, and it also doesn't live up to the loot hype because every trials item is so easy to get. Flawless isn't as rewarding anymore and overall it just feels unsatisfactory.

Some people are nervous about one hit kill shoulder charges, I'm nervous about invisible Nightstalkers carrying shotguns

At least the Titans you can see coming on the radar. When a Hunter is invisible, you can't. I can already wreck face in Quickplay abusing invisibility from my abilities and Rat King to go on mad flanks. Now imagine if I spawn with shotgun ammo too.

Makes me wonder if anything will change. :/

A Breakdown of Confirmed Time To Kill changes

To change Resilience values, click the dropdown on the cell and select a value.

So what did we learn from the stream?

  • Optimal TTK in some cases will go down but be less generous
    • 140 HCs are 3 Head unless vs 0 Resilience, where they are 2 Head 1 Body
    • 600 Autos can 9-tap 0 Res players if all hits are crits, otherwise you need 10 shots
    • 390 Pulses are a 7 tap, but only allow for 1 body shot. Can also 2-burst 0 Res targets
  • In others it will stay the same but become more generous
    • 110 HCs are 1 Head 2 Body, down from 3 Head
    • 180HCs are 2 Head 2 Body on targets with 3 Res or less, otherwise they are 3 head 1 Body. Used to be 4 Head
  • I'm not sure about that 260 Scout. Initially I thought it was a 200RPM but as u/mikibin and u/Fullbryte pointed out, the perks don't match and it seems to fire faster than a 200.

In conclusion...

  1. To avoid giving your opponents an easier time body-shot wise, make sure you have at least 5 Resilience.
  2. My guess is this means that the ideal TTK won't really be too different, but it will feel significantly faster.
  3. Higher skilled players can use things like 140 Hand Cannons to shine, while average players will feel like things kill faster and more consistently.
  4. Also, don't forget the skill gap that is created by spawning in with 2 Special Ammo.

I wonder if it'll be enough of a reduction so that you can kill someone making a beeline for you with a shotgun from halfway across the map? Lol

Redux is not pronounced "Re-Do", people!

A lot of people have been calling these Redux missions "Redo" missions. Thinking you were all fancy with the "ux" (ie. Hot Shots: Part Deux). Redux, pronounced [ri-duhks] is an actual word meaning "brought back, resurgent".

Bungie, it's been four years! Why are you still wasting "Rare" assets!?

Just look at this thing! It's beautiful, and will never be used for more than an hour of gameplay!

All it takes is some method to convert these to Legendary and be given appropriate stats when done so. Let us pump legendary shards into a blue, and have it roll random perks like any other Y2 weapon, and BOOM! "Free" assets!
