Season 4's Clan Perks need to be much better than the previous ones.

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 06:20 AM PDT

Because Clan Perks so far have had some pretty negligible effects.

Bungie if your reducing overall TTK then you also need to globally buff recovery time

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 07:26 AM PDT

Recovery already feels super slow in D2 unless you spec into it heavily with armor, but unless you're a warlock it's still feels really slow overall. With a shorter TTK, recovery time also needs to be shorter. I really feel like this is the kind of thing that Bungie tends to overlook quite often.

Edit: I'm glad this saw some light and hopefully Bungie takes note. A lot of people mentioned current recovery being bad for PvE, and as a mostly PvE player, I completely agree. Thank you for all of your contributions to this discussion.

Shoutout to that one guy who stays in the pile during glimmer extraction

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 09:35 PM PDT

I see you. Yeah you, standing there in the glimmer pile waiting patiently while everyone else goes fucking ham with supers, you a real one.

Thank you for your service, all those who choose to stand within the pile and progress the heroic rather than partake in the super chaining and destruction of the Fallen unlucky enough to be sent to reclaim that glimmer.

Edit: This post blew up somehow, just wanted to say another thanks to the folks who actually stand in sync plates with me or others during the Vex sacrifice event, y'all are troopers

While hunting for Region Chests, I was reminded how beautiful this game is. Here's an album of 70 hudless screenshots, hope you enjoy!

I did my best to find at least one wallpaper-worthy screenshot in each major patrol zone (where a public event can spawn) as well as a few other cool locations. You can get to all of these locations in patrol, with the exception of the screenshot I took on the Radiant Cliffs crucible map. This game's art really is just incredible, on the offchance someone from Bungie sees this, go give your art team a hearty handshake and my compliments.

On Spark Redux I just used my ENTIRE Stormcaller on ONE servitor, but with Arcstaff I can kill at least 10 of them. Bungie: this is not balanced!

I love how Exotics like Doomfang, Crown of Tempests, and Young Ahamkara's Spine have breathed new life into subclasses...but they still need a buff

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 06:47 AM PDT

The buffs to Exotics like Doomfang, Crown of Tempests, and Young Ahamkara's Spine has allowed Sentinel, Stormcaller, and Gunslinger to do things they previously hadn't before, and plenty of times you're like "damn I'm have so much more fun now when playing these! I'm actually doing good!"

The problem is how unimpressive these subclasses can be without those Exotics. Subclasses shouldn't be rather bad except with a single, key Exotic. I should want to play Sentinel sometimes even if I don't wear Doomfang but right now I just don't. And so on.

Or to put it another way, Sentinel with Doomfang feels as powerful as Sentinel should be when you're not wearing Doomfang.

Underperforming subclasses shouldn't be "fixed" by Exotic gear. They should all be worthwhile even without Exotics and then Exotics let them do specific things in a new, better way.

Good examples of this are Arcstrider and Voidwalker and Sunbreaker. All of these feel great even without Exotics at all. They have well defined themes, their abilities are good, Exotics just make them better. They're worthwhile even without them but are augmented by them.

Some bad examples of this are Gunslinger, Stormcaller, Sentinel, and a little bit of Dawnblade.

Gunslinger

Golden Gun just isn't good enough without Celestial Nighthawk. Way too many enemies can shrug off a hit from it. As for the neutral game, it often feels disjointed and weak. Here's a separate post I made about buff ideas.

Sentinel

Some of the neutral game perks just aren't quite up to par, and the Super needs a tweak. Some ideas:

  • Voidwall grenade is very finicky and has no synergy with this subclass (it does with Nightstalker because it can extend the duration or trap foes in a Smoke). A Sentinel can toss this at someone's feet and it will do no damage at all because how thin its AoE is; take a single step back, and Voidwall has "missed" you. Swap this back to Spike grenade so you can toss this at a wall and hit many foes.
  • In the Code of the Protector tree, combine Rallying Force and Turn the Tide into one perk. New perk is added that has this effect: your Barricade lasts longer and has more health.
  • In the Code of the Aggressor tree, add a new effect to Superior Arsenal that reads: when you're surrounded, gain extra Stability and faster Reload speeds.
  • Increase the velocity of the Shield Throw in your Super so it's easier to hit distant foes with it

Stormcaller

This one doesn't need AS much changes but it could still use some.

  • Most important one...Stormtrance needs, like, a 30% damage buff. In all content, even PvP. (It will be kept in check by the weapon slot changes in PvP, I reckon.)
  • In the Attunement of Conduction tree, replace Transcendence (which can punish you for using abilities) with Perpetual Charge from D1. This tree buffs your grenade and melee but then you have to NOT use them to use Transcendence. It's anti-synergy. Perpetual Charge fits much better.
  • In the Attunement of Conduction tree, buff the Chain Lightning melee so it can hit up to 4 enemies rather than just up to 2.
  • On the Attunement of Elements tree, add the Transcendence effect to Electrostatic Surge, and have it read like this instead: Your Rift charges faster when allies near. If you cast your Stormtrance Super with full Rift energy, it fully heals you and lasts longer.

Dawnblade

Only the bottom skill tree needs changes, I think. The problem with it is that it has NO neutral game without Exotics. Absolutely none. All you can do without your Super is kinda-awkwardly dive down from the air to partially heal. Aside from that you have vanilla grenade, melee, and Rift abilities.

I use this tree now because Exotics actually add neutral game utility to it, like Starfire Protocol and Karnstein Armlets and Sunbracers. But without them you feel naked until you have Daybreak, which just isn't fun.

  • Combine Fated for the Flame and Everlasting Fire into one perk. Add a new perk that augments your Rift, for example your Rift could buff outgoing Solar damage, or perhaps your Rift just quickly charges you and your allies abilities as they stand in it.
  • Oh and buff the damage and blast radius of the Phoenix Dive move when you're in your Super, it's hard to even kill Thrall with it.

This is a long ass post but man do I really wish we could get these kind of buffs to keep these relevant in Forsaken.

Bungie, as someone that actually enjoys Crucible, please stop with win requirements for events like this...

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 09:53 AM PDT

All it does is make the crucible an even worse/more toxic experience than it already is. People just instantly leave if it seems like they are going to lose the match (which TBH I don't even blame them. If you already dislike Crucible why waste time in a match when you only care about the win?) I don't mind the other requirements, but win requirements for events like this is just a terrible design decision IMO.

Edit: Or why not a compromise if you guys are dead set on having win requirements for events. Why not win 5 matches or play 10 matches. That way you still have a reason to stay even if you're losing, and those losses don't feel like a complete waste of time for people who don't enjoy Crucible so much.

Bungie, please make a taken themed ornament of the Sweet Business called, “Taken Care of Business”. It would go so perfectly in line with your other business pun ornaments.

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 09:47 PM PDT

As the title says, I would love to see more of the taken based gear and I thought putting it on something like the business would implement well.

Bungie, in future can you guys please stop making parts of armor that don't cooperate with shaders?

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 11:19 PM PDT

Please. It really kills potentially badass armor for me. Especially when it has perma-gold on it, because then I can't mix-&-match with other armor pieces unless they also have perma-gold on them, and it really sucks. It's also really annoying because it always ends up being the worst/most prominent color on the armor. It also defeats the purpose of an item whos purpose it is to change the color of our armor (shaders).

Suggestion: If you're going to make an ornate armor set with a lot of gold on it, could you guys please consider making it so that the gold can change to silver with certain shaders? It would make that kind of thing a lot better.

edit: Just because I brought up gold ornamentation in particular does not mean I'm singling out the SoH armor set. Default IB gear had this same problem and it was equally as annoying. And I would also like to bring up the Mercury Warlock robes and the default Raiden tubes other as examples of this. There are a bunch more, but these are just some prime examples.

How is it that we haven't got a Exotic grenade launcher that is like Dragon's Breath?

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 10:38 AM PDT

I'm sure a lot D1 players remembers this beauty. While it wasn't the best exotic rocket launcher in the time when TDB released but by Year 2 it was probably the best time to use it when Bungie buffed it and gave it a new perk. Shooting the weapon as it ejects a napalm canister unto a field of enemies and detonating it fills the whole area of flames and you have front row seats of watching your enemies burn was awesome!

I'm surprised that there isn't a Dragon's Breath themed exotic grenade launcher in D2. Adding a Exotic like this would make it very unique and can clear out adds in seconds. I think players would like wielding a grenade launcher that can shoot out multiple napalm canisters and fill the whole area in flames.

Dear Bungie: Can we do something about my ass?

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 10:01 AM PDT

The SoH glow ornaments are super cool, but the lastertag panties the leg armor ones give to hunters (at least females) look awful.

Bungie, isn't it entirely possible for PC players to be able to use Veteran dialogue?

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 10:16 AM PDT

As a D1 Veteran who moved to PC, it is really annoying when something has to be explained to me that I already know. I know what the Taken or Cabal are. If graphics and some controls are pretty much the only difference on PC, doesn't the dialogue just exist ingame already? I personally don't think it would be that hard, although I am no game developer. All I am trying to say is that Veteran Dialogue would be amazing. I want to feel like I played D1, and not be talked to like I am new to the game. Especially in Forsaken, I do not want to have to be explained to what the Reef is, etc. I already know all the context. So please Bungie, just add the option in settings for PC. I beg you!

I just want to give a quick shoutout...

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 11:46 AM PDT

To all of your guardians out there who are taking all of the SoH challenges with a grain of salt and not making a big deal of them online. Plenty of you are being pushed out of your comfort zone this month, whether it be having to play in the crucible, or having to do a prestige raid depending on how you like to play/enjoy the game. And for that, I thank you.

And lastly, thank you Bungie for this wonderful event!

The key to raiding.

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 03:14 AM PDT

If it's your first time or its been a while, there is one super easy trick to getting through any raid regardless of prestige or normal. Be honest and listen! Tell the team you're not a pro, ask questions at the start and finally listen to the people helping you. I'll help sherpa people through things but I can't teach or help if I don't know you need it. And I'm human so after a while I'll get annoyed myself if we wipe over and over. Wipes are going to happen, but please do your best to make sure the wipe isn't bcause you aren't paying attention to the explanation at the start of the fight. Seeing people randomly hop on different plates at calus is a bit soul crushing.

We were trying for the Pyramidion Nightfall bonus threshold and we had an unexpected mystery death in the fireteam. Had a hard time not cracking up when it happened and when editing the clip. You come to expect it from the Phalanxes, but not from your friends.

Solstice of Heroes: Bottom half of Warlock Robe Color is Off

Posted: 05 Aug 2018 08:30 AM PDT

I have noticed this issue with colors before. They look perfect and matching on the inventory screen, but then in the game world (for instance, running around the city) the bottom half is darker and less vibrant than the rest of the armor.

This is extremely noticeable with the highlighted armor with the Solstice of Heroes event coloring. I thought it was cool so I dumped 4k light into it to get Head/Chest/Arms/Legs (stretching for a 5th to get the class item color was too much, all of my spare ships/sparrows were already gone) and now I have a mismatched looking character.

Is there a way to get a refund? Is this problem being worked on? Xbox One player here.

Satire - I need MW ghosts and clan banners because having two normal icon boxes in my menu is just not frabjous

Polaris Lance is an awesome exotic

Posted: 04 Aug 2018 08:25 PM PDT

I've been using this a lot lately to get my solar weapon kills for my armor set and GODDAMN this gun is fun I was melting Goliath tanks with that perfect fifth round. But today I took it into the crucible and I was on Vostok it just felt really smooth to shoot and you are really well rewarded for landing those crits. I have to say this is my favorite exotic scout rifle now even more than MIDA.
